The product was perfectly sealed and unused, but she opened the box and looked through it as if we were trying to return something else. We had paid using Apple Pay, not realizing it uses a different card number than the physical debit card. Instead of explaining that or helping, she smirked and acted like she was glad we couldn't get a refund. It was extremely rude and unprofessional. We are honest customers and didn't deserve to be treated that way. I hope management addresses this and retrains staff on proper customer service and Apple Pay refunds. If she doesn't like her job, maybe she'd be better suited for the DMV -- because that personality fits perfectly there. We are honest customers and deserve to be treated with respect. The other stores didn't have the screws we needed, we think, it's hard tell because everything is packaged up. To have keys made - you (the customer) do that at a kiosk machine...no thank you. Once at Ace someone helped us right away. He was personable and knowledgeable, he understood what we needed for our project. The screws are loose in little drawers and it was easy to find the length we needed. AND they even make the keys for you, which we had them do. In addition, on our way out of the store we noticed they sold Weber gas grills. We ended up purchasing one online and had it assembled and delivered, (both free) from this same store. The store worked with me on a delivery time and even called when they were on their way. The grill was delivered on time and looks great. The delivery guys were friendly and quick. This will be our hardware store from now on!

The product selection is solid, but what really stood out is the level of customer service. It's rare these days to find retail staff who go above and beyond, and these two certainly did (even humoring me as I reminisced about my own time working in retail). As a funny side note, I even got the chance to chase after a customer and his dog after he accidentally left a dog bone behind at the counter. Unfortunately, I wasn't fast enough to return it--maybe he'll return for his purchase! But sometimes you need alternative choices on merchandise, or quick in and out convenience if you are in this shopping center for some of their local treasures like Sweet Cow or Lucky's or Neptune or Kim & Jakes or Pharmaca and you think of something else and this store will save you a separate trip. I saw something on their outdoor display area when I was leaving Lucky's and went in to check it out. It was what I had thought about to solve a yard problem, it was on sale and worked out well. The owner was there, he's had the store for about 10 years he said and I thought it was greatly improved since it's days in the 80s and 90s as Rad Hardware.
