I went in for a fill n pedicure with polish on my feet like I ALWAYS GET everywhere I go. The man didn't listen & did gel polish: I'm too tired to argue with him at this point. However once I asked for the guy who was doing my pedicure to fix something on my pedicure he started to be rough with my ex foot. I then went to sit in the chair to get a FILL! My nails were done before hand & not super long, I have them pretty short, the tech asked me if I wanted to cut the length down, & I said yes. I got a black tip done with gel polish I get that. But she charged me 62.00! I went in for a fill & still cut my length down before she even began adding any product. When I asked why my FILL WAS SO EXPENSIVE she said because the length. I was one of 2 customers, the other on her way out paying no attention. I came here for the first time after not being able to get an appointment at my regular nail shop- I needed to get my acrylic nails removed and a shellac mani- called Fancy nails and they had a spot for me. A guy helped me and he was soooo gentle and patient removing my acrylics and I know that can be a pain- then proceeded with a nice mani and made sure to get alllll my cuticles without me having to ask. I really enjoyed my pedicure. They did a great job cleaning my nails and scrubbing my feet. This is my first time coming here and I will most likely be back. I usually go elsewhere to get my nails done but I got a chance to look at their shellac colors and I'm really feeling the selection. I plan on coming back for shellac the next time I need to change colors. I stopped coming for a while because I had a bad experience with them cutting my toe nails way too short, to point where they hurt. Honestly worst manicure of my life. All I wanted was a change of gel polish on my nails. I immediately noticed as they were taking off my prior gel polish that they were scraping my natural nails causing them to lose a ton of strength and asked her to stop, as my normal tech never does this. This made her angry, and she refused to change what she was doing. Then, she proceeded to give me the most rushed and bizarre manicure. She would paint like 3 nails and let them cure, then paint them all, and then cure again. The result is extremely uneven coverage. There was dried gel all over my cuticles when she was done and the shape was so terrible I ended up spending 30 min when I got home just trying to make my nails look presentable. I'm really disappointed. Getting my nails done is my me time that I splurge for since I recently went through a difficult divorce, and instead of leaving relaxed and happy, i left frustrated and upset. Very VERY disappointed in my service. I came in for a removal and right off the bat the lady was very rude and gave an attitude to me when I told her I would only be doing a removal and not a new set. She charged me 15$ plus 2 dollars to pay with my card, So a total of 17$ for a removal that wasn't even complete. She burned/ cut me multiple times with the tool she was using to file the fake nails down. I told her that was she was hurting me multiple times and she still continued working on the same nail with the same tool. I still have three nails that are left with acrylic on them because she wasn't able to properly remove them and get all of the product off. The other nails which she did manage to completely remove still have left over color from my set. I am left with uneven nails. left over color, and stinging nail beds from her work. I am glad this was only a removal and am very happy i didn't decide to waste my money on a full set which i'm sure i would have been unhappy with! This salon was the worst I've ever attended. This place is so unsanitary. I will never go back. I went in for acrylic nail removal. She removed my nails by chipping piece by piece off while chipping off my real nail. I could have done that myself at home. My nail bed is still healing a month later. read more

I have been going to nail salons for over 16 years now, and This is definitely on my top five list of horrible salon service. If I could read it is zero I would. The older lady with glasses helped me with my shellac gel fill. Here's strike 1: I had to point out that she had shape the tip of my finger and a crooked slant. At first she tried to act like she did not see this very obvious miss shaped nail, then realize that I was not going to keep quiet about it and she had to fix it. So she did. Strike 2: She took the longest time to do the sloppiest job of painting my nails. I was in a hurry and on a time crunch, so when I looked at my emails and saw that there was shellac all over my cuticle and in between my nail and nail beds, I had thought to myself I will come back and have her fix this. Strike 3 and 4: I came back to get them fixed and a matter how many times I said I did not want her to "fix" them, they had her do it anyway. She argued with me about the color that I had gotten last time insisted that it was a much more orange version of the one I had. As she starts to paint them I start telling her right away but that is the wrong color. She still insisting that it's the right color and continues to paint all of them. I told her again wrong color. She then told me "watch after the second coat you'll see it is that color." After the second coat I told her again it is not the right color and I got up and grabbed the color from right behind her and showed her the correct color. She was annoyed and it showed as she painted them extremely fast to rush through it. They look worse now than they did before. Moral of the story is: I rather go 50 miles out of my way and spend twice as much money , than to have my nails look the way they look now and be treated the way I was. read more

The ladies that work here are very sweet and detail oriented. As I write this review, my pedicure is almost three weeks out, and not one chip has appeared! This is my new go-to for a mani/pedi while visiting my best friend in Modesto. We used to go to another place, but were turned off on our last visit (moments before we happened upon Fancy Nails). When we requested to have two of their "Deluxe" pedicures, we were told that we were going to get the "Express" this time. Not asked if that would be alright with us, but told. I'm sorry, I do not like being told what to do, especially when I am paying for a service. We thanked them, and left. Luckily, we found Fancy Nails, and I'm so glad we did! This place was packed and full of people. My first time here this was a great first impression. I waited for about 10 minutes and was seated. The lady whom initially started on my nails wasn't able to finish my nails. Why? I wasn't sure. I was then moved to the front and the lady to the right did my nails. I explained to the lady what I wanted. Coffin style, thin and natural looking. She said, ok no problem. As she proceeded to do my nails I started to see that my left finger nails were thick and the right nails were thin. She told me she would take care of it before I'm all done. As she files my nails. She cuts me several times, then had the nerves to tell me that my left hand was bigger than my right hand and that's why I got cut? Really? If you want me to be honest your left hand is usually smaller than your right hand. However I didn't argue with the lady. I noticed my nails still looked the same and I asked her if she could fix the nail. She then said to me your nail is big it's not the same on the other hand. Smh.... Needless to say I will NEVER BE BACK. Very rude, nails did not come out as expected. And she didn't even clean the bottom of my nails. I am so unhappy with my nails. I asked for coffin shape and some nails came out square when I asked her to fix them she said it was because the nail polish makes them thick. My nails aren't smooth either I can see little craters n divots on my nails. I also asked for my cuticles to be cut and she said no need cause it comes off when they file the nail but I can still see the cuticle on some nails. Neither the acrylic or paint was taken all the way to the top of the nail and it looks like I need a fill already! I definitely won't be coming to this salon anymore. Waste of 40$ read more

High fiiiive Fancy Nails! I don't care what people say about walk-in nail salons like this, Fancy Nails is THE BOMB. My pedicures from Fancy Nails have NEVER chipped and I've been going here for 5+ years. I haven't has as good of luck with manicures but 1. the ladies here are always super eager to fix anything for free, even a few days later and 2. manicures never last, ever. From any salon. Period. Even though I go here much less often than I used to since I'm away at school, the women here still all know me by name and even ask me about my family (my mom and sisters come here, too). I really appreciate that they get to know their regular customers, because at a salon like this where you go to a different manicurist every appointment they really don't need to. They have a lot of nail polish, but their OPI selection is limited (in my opinion, if it's not OPI, it doesn't belong on your toesies) so I would definitely bring your own. The great thing about this salon is IF you forget to bring your own polish and you don't see one you like in their stockpile, there's a beauty supply store right next door where you can buy anything you want. I've been told to "never" go to "asian" salons (is that not pc?), but honestly...they're the only salons with quality and longevity of both pedicures and manicures. That being said, Fancy Nails is by far my favorite salon, because not all nail salons are created equal, you know. This one is right by my house and being that there are four of us girls in my family, one of us seems to be in there every few weeks and the staff genuinely cares about us and our lives and always asks for updates, they remember our names, jobs, etc---very friendly and welcoming. Fancy nails gets a 3 from me. I walked in and was helped right away, which was much appreciated. I asked if I could have two shellac colors layered, and that seemed to confuse the tech who was helping me. She had to ask another tech if it was OK. After being seated, she proceded to soak my nails, and then began the customary painful cuticle/hangnail/any-extra-whatever clipping. This is something that I haven't quite decided whether I want to skip altogether due to the risk of infection or just continue as my nails last longer and look better after this step. The tech was quick and efficient, and my nails look great. I love the color, and she shaped my nails well. My main disappointment was the lack of hand/forearm massage afterward, which is part of the reason I love getting my nails done. Other than that, good service. I was recommended this place from a family friend. My first set lasted 9 days before 3 nails popped off completely. I went back to get them fixed an notified them that my set was done just 9 days prior. The lady said ok she would fix them and give me a fill. The fill was going to cost me $32, I did not mind paying that being I liked the new filled set. I had planned on giving her a total of $40 which would have been an $8 tip for the tech. A coworker passed by right before she completed my fill set and started speaking in another language. When my fill set was completed she said her coworker said she has to charge me for replacing the 3 nails that popped off an had to be replaced. My total came out to $42 which is almost the same price as a brand new set. Tech lost out on tip.
