This place is great! The sushi here is always very fresh and delicious. I love their specialty rolls like the Foxy Lady, or the White Geisha roll. All really good. The Mango Salad is delicious with the slightly spicy peanut sauce they put on it. They also have really good Tuna Tataki. We also got a bottle of this mango sake that was really really good. Worst service I've ever had. Sushi wasn't fresh. My husband asked for chopsticks twice and the waitress never brought them. She started setting up other tables when she reached the table next to us only then did she give us the chopsticks. When we got the bill my husband had the check snatched out of his hand from a man with no acknowledgement. We didn't leave a tip because of the horrible service and were then followed to our car and were asked why a tip wasn't left so I explained why I didn't leave a tip. Had been meaning to try this place out for sometime - it always caught my eye since it looks like a diner from the outside but it's an Asian fusion restaurant. We were seated fairly quickly since we got there before the rush but as we were eating the place started to fill up very quickly. Service was very good attentive but not overbearing. Decor was very basic but the space was clean. The calamari was nice and crispy with a sweet mayo like sauce which was delicious but a bit heavy. We also tried tuna wasabi dumplings and would skip this next time too much avocado and not enough tuna and the wasabi was unnoticeable. Our main meals were delicious and each came with rice. The meats / fish and veggies in each dish super fresh and they were generous on the protein it wasn't all just vegetables. We didn't get to try any sushi but next time that will be on the roster - we heard allot of positives on their rolls and from what we saw they all looked really good by others around us ordering. read more

Had my Christmas dinner at Fancy Lee and have to say I was a bit disappointed. After reading both professional reviews and reviews on yelp I was expecting something really special. Unfortunately it was not to be. Keep in mind, Kotubuki is around the corner and Aji 53 is down the block. This is big league competition and Fancy is just not there yet. Overpriced, low quality food with no substitutions. I wanted brown rice instead of white rice and the waitress charged me $5.00 extra. I didn't noticed until the bill came, I complained and was told, no substitutions, everything is extra. I order two beers and it came out to $20 bucks, Sapporo's. I could've bought a case. Went here with a group of 6. Made reservations when we arrived they weren't able to seat us for 15 min but they did give us free sake while we were waiting. We were sat in the back room which was very crowded and space was tight. It was also very hot. Our waitress was very unenthused and I don't think she smiled once. We ordered our apps I ordered oysters. When they came out a little while later mine was not there. I asked the waitress and he said oh yea.... We are all out of oysters. SHe could not have told me this when I ordered??? She was also bad at seeing if we needed more drinks or water which was pretty much like that all night. Meh! nothing to write home about. The coconut Nigori for $25/bottle was the hi-light. If you like actual pineapple fried rice like in Thailand or just 'fried rice' do not order this- it is for sure dedicated to these boring locals of this town.... mushy wet like & boring. This place is just a fancy overpriced restaurant with low quality food. The food is horrible compare to Kotobuki. I will explain below. For sashimi. Material is not fresh. And not cut properly. Tuna and salmon sashimi are really thin compare to the Kotobuki. Instead of sashimi, it is more like the fish for sushi which is thinner. When I taste them, they are like 3 days old( not fresh). Tuna has a lot of tough tissues inside, not smooth at all. This is just the cheap tuna (yellow fin) sell for a high price. I ordered five different sashimi, I have to say, tuna is the best of them while still not good. Others are totally uneatable. For sushi, Fish is not fresh as I mentioned above. Rice is tough, Low quality rice. And it is not vinegar rice. The fish and rice can't stick together, that is so failed. For rolls, They used a lot of sauces to cover the original flavor of the fish they used in the rolls. Because the fish in the rolls is far too old. If you tried it seperately, you will never order it anymore. At last, here is my suggestion. If you really want to have a nice Japanese food, you should go to the Kotobuki. They are much better than here. They just don't open on Mondays. If you still want to try here, please do not order rolls. Order some sashimi first, then you will see whether this post is true or not. read more

Fancy lee is a great spot for lunch or dinner. They have a large menu with lots of different choices! It's truly a fusion restaurant, offering sushi, Chinese dishes and Thai. The stir fry beef in blackbean sauce was really good. The flavors in all their dishes is very mild in a good way. So many vegetables in the dish that were delicious. Lots of thinly sliced garlic too! The calamari appetizer was delicious, even though it wasn't spicy like the title described. It didn't even matter because it tasted so good! I had dinner here the other night and thought the sushi was very good. Everything tasted really fresh and delicious. We ordered a lot of sushi and the presentation of our order was amazing. Came out on this big boat all decorated very nicely. We also got some rice dishes, like the pineapple rice, which also tasted amazing. The staff seemed very friendly and welcoming. Totally inaccurate reviews. I ordered a take out at 9:25pm and spent $53 in food. The waitress said my order would take approximately 15 minutes. At 9:29pm I decided to switch my entree for a different option. Only 4 minutes had passed and she said it was too late to switch. The chef has only made the food. "Would you like to add something else to your order?", she asked in a nonchalant manner. Need I say more? What happened to customer satisfaction and restaurant etiquette? This place was terrible!! Our family went there tonight. It wasn't busy when we got there. We ordered baby back ribs as an appetizer - the ribs that came out were beef short ribs, and they were ICE COLD!! They said that they would prepare a whole new order. 2 minutes later they new order came out. I guess the microwave worked well, since the original order took 20 minutes!! Next, the sushi - It was very blah. They doctor everything up with sauces to make them palatable. The seaweed that they use is very chewy and didn't give the appearance of being fresh. Our child ordered spring rolls and asked for duck sauce. They don't have duck sauce !!! You must be kidding me. And for the finale- we ordered 2 hibachi dishes- 1 steak and 1 chicken. Both had COLD vegetables and the meats were COLD!!! They charge $2.75 for each soda and refill. The manager came over and proceeded to argue with us about the food, saying it was hot. Then the manager said she has to pay for it if she takes it off the bill. I've never experienced rudeness like this manager exhibited. What happened to the customer being satisfied? What happened to the customer is always right? I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. My advice is STAY AWAY!!! With treatment like this and food this bad, one can only wonder how they stay open. When all Fails, FAncy LEE got it. The black risotto with salmon app is to die for. sushi is yummy and all thai entrees are just on point. Try the roti bread within the app section. i believe it's called curry something but it tastes like indian chapathi and spicy chicken curry. Fancy Lee delivers in a big way! It was a typical Saturday and my wife and I felt like something light for dinner. We took a cruise over to Babylon looking forward to trying something new. We were heading over to one of those new fancy sandwich shoppes but it was packed with a loud standing room only crowd. We moved on and starting driving south down Deer Park Avenue, but couldn't settle on anything...until we came to Fancy Lee around the block. We said ok...let's get Chinese. Boy were we in for a surprise! It's not the typical Chinese restaurant with a Sushi Bar. They take it to the next level. We waited a few minutes and our server lead us to a comfy booth. She started us with a complimentary crab appetizer wrapped in pastry drizzled with an amazing sauce....delicious! No greasy fried noodles and duck sauce here! They also have a nice bar menu with the standards and some new libations. Their wine and beer offerings are nice as well. We each had a bottle of Sapporo beer served in tall chilled glasses. The menu offers a lot of selection...still unsure of exactly what we were getting ourselves into, we decided to get the (safe) Hibachi Grill. My wife had the steak and i had the chicken. It arrived in a compartmentalized plate with veggies, lo mein, fried rice (I had brown) and cubed grilled meats along with a delicious light mustard-like dipping sauce. I have to say there weren't any weak points here. The grilled and marinated meats were done perfectly, the veggies were flavorful as was the rice and the lo mein was extraordinary. It's our new Chinese (I mean Pan Asian) go-to place. BTW...the service was friendly and pleasant. Definitely worth a try. read more
