Aji is my favorite sushi spot on LI! It's consistent and delicious. We always get different rolls to change it up. Love the salads and vanity of rolls. Drinks are great too!

Amazing !! Everything I had was so good ! Sushi is very fresh , hibachi meals were delicious and drinks were strong and tasty. I will definitely be going back. The staff was very nice as attentive. I can't wait to go back and framing about my food. The restaurant was clean and inviting.

Service is 5 star! We sat at the bar and Fiona took our order, she was amazing, even practiced her Spanish with us. Food was delicious. We order the Monster roll, American Dream, Dragon Roll and chicken teriyaki, along with Sapporo beers. Also, we got a free salad served once we sat, the dressing was so good! Everything was very good.

I love coming here with friends for a quick lunch! The lunch specials always hit the spot, the sushi is super fresh, and the staff always delivers excellent service. It's always a great experience.

    California Roll, and Spicy Tuna

Visited twice in 1 week. The happy hour is affordable and if you are a sushi lover I highly recommend. This time ordered spicy tuna and California roll which of course did not disappoint. Service is swift as soon as you are finished with a plate the bus boy is ready to pick up your empty plates. Cozy and laid back atmosphere. Definitely will continue to return.

I recently decided to give Aji a retry via food delivery and they have been redeemed... partly. I had the spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and eel cucumber roll. The fish in the spicy rolls were up to par this time and actually fresh tasting thankfully. The eel cucumber roll could have used bigger eel pieces and more eel sauce though, I found the cucumber overbearing and drowning out the eel. My chicken tempura roll was mostly dry as well and I don't think the lettuce works as well as they intend it to here, there was certainly not enough sauce in this either. Aji does have some of the best sushi rice out there though, I enjoy how nicely soft and tangy it is. The salad was good too, I like their dressing a lot as it's got a nice sweetness to it others don't. While Aji can convincingly provide a good sushi dinner for others, there are some shortcomings that prevent it from being at the upper echelon of sushi restaurants for me.

Food was good had the yellowtail for sushi and the shrimp teriyaki for dinner everything was fresh and delish. Always my go-to when I go to bayshore.

Good happy hour deals. I loved the hot sake and the sushi rolls. Bay Shore is so good! As were the twister and another one with truffle oil (tyhrennian?). Romantic place and quick service.

Went out to eat there last night and I'm 7 months pregnant and they gave me an expired soda last night still charging me for a soda

Love Aji 53, the best sushi in Bay Shore! You heard it here first folks! Plenty of seating for large parties and they have nice intimate booths and half circle booths too. Love that vibe over there in the back left. Their lunch special is where it's at fasho! Fish quality is always up to par and their ginger dressing is my favorite on the island. The only thing is that they have a free saki shot offer when you check in on Yelp, but I was denied my free shot because the supervisor mentioned they weren't honoring it anymore. They tried contacting Yelp and they never resolved their issue to remove the check-in offer. I little disappointed after that, but it is what it is. Still a returning customer bar none!

I got the pork gyoza, rock shrimp & crispy rice for an appetizer & I'm blown away! For the main course we had the paradise & American dream roll (both were outstanding). Fiona is a fantastic bartender with an amazing personality and always makes us feel welcomed. She is friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to accommodate us in anyway possible.

Really fresh and well prepared meal. They sliced the sashimi thinly, as requested, which is greatly appreciated! Tori was super helpful and explained the rolls that we weren't sure about. This will have to suffice since my other spot (Kumo) is closed for renovations. I'll be here much more frequently now .

I've been to a good number of AYCE sushi spots, and this is hands down the best one yet!…read more The have a unique menu unlike other sushi AYCE spots, including the jellyfish salad, double sweet (jalapeño tuna over a rectangle of deep fried rice), the Howie Special (sliced raw pepper tuna), and even fried Oreos for dessert too. All the ingredients tasted very fresh, and I was also happy to see it opening til late since we were coming back from a roadtrip. They also have a wide selection of yummy special rolls which you can't beat for the price, but do be warned, they are more filling in case you're trying to fill up on a lot of sushi. Service was quick, and servers frequently came by to ask what we wanted to order (which they either took the order on a notepad or via their iPad). There was also no wait when we got there, and it was a nice mid-higher tier sushi spot with a few larger groups still there close to closing time. I loved that they didn't fill up too much rice on the sushi rolls. It was also a sweet surprise that the green tea and red bean ice cream, which was fairly creamy by surprise, also paired nicely with my fried Oreos. If I'm ever in the area again I would definitely come back!

If you want to order sashimi, it's an additional $5. Everything we tried was delicious. The hand roll was especially good, and we also ordered a few specialty rolls that we really enjoyed. The service was fast, too. It's not a fancy restaurant, so casual outfits are totally fine. Overall, it's a great spot if you're looking for good sushi in a relaxed, casual setting!

Now, I can't remember the name of the roll, but it has bananas and mangoes in it with crumbled Oreos on top. ??? Weird - Yes. Tasty? Meh it was alright. It's like a desert roll so I should have really thought about that, but I had never heard of a roll like that before so I HAD to try it. It was good, but I should have stuck with a dinner type roll. Would recommend if you had a group of people, not as a sole roll for dinner. Service: Two servers, no complaints. Haha, the first waitress gave us these little packages at the start and I was like "What is this?" I opened it and there was a warm towel inside. Nice touch. I think she thought I was a complete rookie because I have never had a sushi place offer that before! Atmosphere: Very nice inside, good for a divey bar scene or for a nice date. Nice menus and the towels were cool. Price: 30$ a person pretty standard. It's sushi, so it depends on what you get. The guy I was with got a straight sashimi plate which was a little more expensive, so it just depends on how hungry you are! Overall: Cool place, bonus for the towels, the unique rolls and the service. Not sure I will be back this way but if I am, I hope this place is still around!

The servers are all well versed in the menu items, including the oyster selection, which is always a plus for me. Each time I've visited I ordered a few different oysters and have never been disappointed. You really cannot go wrong with what you order. The fritto misto appetizer is outstanding, perfect for 2-4 people. Also had to try the oysters Rockefeller which are always delicious. My first visit (NYE '26) they had octopus on their specials menu. I PRAY they bring it back because it was memorable, even 6 months later. My first visit I tried the barramundi which, at the time was a special menu item. It seems they added it to the Mains but with a different preparation. This time I tried the salmon which was excellent. If seafood's not your jam, they have plenty of menu items to choose from. In addition to the food, they also have great cocktails and a stellar looking happy hour menu I can't wait to try. I recommend making reservations, especially if you're visiting on a Friday or Saturday night. Both times I went here the restaurant was packed, particularly the bar area. My only real critique is that the restaurant gets a bit loud, making it a tad difficult to hear but it's also a sign that the place is doing consistently well.

However, the seating in my opinion is on a tight spaced sidewalk where people and cars pass you by. It was crowded and our waiter was fine. The food took way too long to come out. It was like they forgot our order. It was happy hour for clams so that could have played a part. However, others had received their food before us. When the food finally came, the oysters were sad. Such small oysters for a place that's on the coast and bases it menu off the ocean. Our tuna tartar tacos were great. Best I've ever had. The flavor is towards the bottom of the taco so take a big bite to get all that flavor. IMO this is a nice place. I would not make it a go to spot for their oysters. But I would return.
