What an incredible way to end a week of travel and stress than with one of the best burgers I've had in some time. Great ambience with chill music. Service was fast and attentive but not overwhelming. The rosemary fries must have had truffle oil because they were great and seasoned exactly. The fancy burger changes month to month. This time is was a filet with Marsala wine reduction, broccolini and two patties. The beef is thin, charred perfectly and almost melt in your mouth. This place is a gem! I had no idea what to expect when I walked in here because it's so unassuming on the outside. They've decorated it so well and you're instantly transported from a boring parking lot to fancy dining! It's dark, moody, and such a unique vibe for a burger restaurant. Big fan. As for the menu, they keep it very simple and only serve a few things! They rotate their "Fancy Burger" every month, and it's expensive, but the basic burgers and salad are closer to $10. I love burgers and I can appreciate getting fancy, but I have a really hard time shelling out around $40 for a couple burgers, some fries, and a shake. I understand the patties and the buns are hand-made fresh with quality ingredients, but they just didn't blow me away like I hoped, especially since they boast having the "best burger blend in North America, maybe even the world." The shake was a little small as well, costing just under $10. The restaurant itself is beautiful and gives off a comfortable, yet upscale vibe. Their regular cheese burger is great. The bun is solid. We would go back. The service is great. The fries were lacking and their fries sauce was trying to be more than it was. Although I haven't made the jump to try the fancy burger itself, (I'm not a huge fan of seafood on a burger) The plain luxury burger is fabulous and worth every penny. Go for the double with cheese and tomato and lettuce. The bun is perfection and the meat is wonderful. I will definitely be back. Apparently they change the fancy burger every month, so I will look for one that is not seafood. The fries are similar to Cubby's- absolutely great!!! Fry sauce has a nice kick to it. They have focused on creating high-quality and memorable burgers and let me tell you - they have more than hit the mark! Each burger comes on a Hokkaido milk bun, which if you don't know, is one of the fluffiest & softest breads! It is absolutely delicious and is the perfect touch to add that pillowy soft texture. The burgers also all come with kewpie mayo - which lends a really great flavor profile and elevates it from the classic mayo you normally find on a burger. The meat itself is super high quality, and is pressed into a smash burger. This creates that perfect crispy edge but a tender and moist center. It is absolute perfection. Their basic burger starts at $5.50 and their "fancy burger" can range anywhere from $28-$48. They do rotate their fancy burger monthly, so you so have the chance to try something new every time you go! We also got to try their rosemary fries - both thick & thin cut. They were both perfectly seasoned and I think it really comes down to preference on which you would like better. I liked the thick cut - but mostly because I love potatoes! I really do think this is one of the best burgers in the state and the restaurant really is something special! If is elegant and understated but it really drives the focus on the flavors and textures of the food. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite burger places for sure! read more

At first I thought it was a pretentious place with a pretentious burger, and I am not talking about the FANCY BURGER but the PLAIN LUXURY, Bun, meat, cheese and mayo, that's it, your meat had to be incredible in order to sell something that simple, well I had high expectations and let me tell you they were met, Bun is incredible soft and delicious, the meat was very tasty since the blend is meat and bacon, it was a good burguer, Rosemary fries are crispy and tasty, all and all they live up to their fanciness. Well this place certainly lives up to its name. It's totally fancy with lit candles on the walls and nice seating and lighting. The menu is pretty simple and the servers are very nice and helpful. They offered lots of explanation about the food and what to expect. The burgers were very delicious and full of flavor. The regular one we got we should have done as a double as the pattys are pretty thin. Also, fries have to be bought separately so plan on that being extra. Overall, it was good but like I said in the beginning, it lives up to its name so expect a bit more fancy pricing. read more

Went with my wife and young daughter. We ordered one of each burger. The Fancy burger at the time was the Alaskan crab and oh man does it come with a mound of delicious crab. There were a few hard bits from cleaning the crab that made it into the burger that I had to remove. But the owner was super apologetic and nice. All the burgers were so tasty. I wasn't sure I'd order anything but a chocolate shake (that was perfectly decadent, with hand-scooped Haagen Daz!!!), but decided to do the basic $5.50 cheeseburger. IT. WAS. AMAZING!!! Seriously so delicious! The homemade bun was delectable. The meat, mouthwatering. The cheese was perfect. It was worth way more that the $5.50 it cost, and I'll definitely be back for more! Knowing the owner, Adam Terry's standards of excellence and reputation for using only the best high-quality ingredients, and locally grown, if possible, helps me know I'm supporting local instead of giant chains, and getting impeccable food. Stopped in on a Friday night and were seated right away. If you're not in a booth, the seating is a bit tight. There is a $5 cover (per person) added to your bill if there is live music. When we first ordered them, the waitress said they couldn't do the caprese burger as they were out of the heirloom tomatoes, but the blonde waitress/manager? Said if we wanted to wait a bit longer than normal she would run out and pick up some heirloom tomatoes so we could have the burger we wanted. We were in no hurry so, agreed and it was worth the very minimal additional wait time. Very glad we did, the burger was phenomenal and the fries were on point as well. I've seen some awesome things about Fancy Burger so I knew I had to give it a go. They have a nice, big parking lot that was relatively vacant when I was there, so parking was easy. Upon walking in, I was a bit confused. They were doing construction on the right, inside the building and there wasn't signage about what the vibe was (am I seating myself, do I walk up and order like a sandwich shop, do I wait to be seated?). It didn't help that the staff just awkwardly stared at me for about a minute instead of greeting me and telling me how it works. I finally got seated, so for those reading this before their visit: they seat you haha. I liked that they left the big bottle of water on the table so you could get your own refills. It was also ice cold water, so there's another plus. Yes, I saw they have a burger for over $30. Was I inclined to try it? Honestly, not one bit. I don't think the ingredients are that appealing (which is a totally personal opinion). I may try it if it's the cheapest burger on the menu, but that wasn't the case lol. I just ordered the basic burger with a side of fries. The burger I ordered was not *horribly* priced, but overall, the burger and fries are a bit pricey as it is a la carte. So it is a whole $3 more for the slice of lettuce, which is also pretty crazy. Even at other "high end" restaurants, it is $3 extra for something like a slice of bacon. I think it would be a lot better to just get the plain burger. Then of course, the fries are an extra $5.50. For how plain they are, I also think that's a bit steep. Their fry sauce is pretty good and helps add flavor to the fries. The rosemary was not that pertinent but I am okay with that because I am not the biggest fan of rosemary. Overall, I did like Fancy Burger. I do think they have a lot of kinks to work out. While I was in there, they had a ladder and were working on the building. Which, I get it. Owning and operating a business is a lot of work, and it's even more work in the beginning. However, I think if you are going to go for a "fancy" vibe and charge for a "fancy" vibe, ladders and construction kind of offset that. Also, I am not a cheapo by any means, but I believe a high price should be a high quality item. There is no way the lettuce is so high quality that it shoots up the price of a burger by over 50%. The fries were good, but again, nothing extravagant. I think these people would kill it if they offered some truffle fries. I will definitely go back & do hope they get their niche. I love the concept and think there is potential, as long as their feedback generates improvement. read more
