REPEATED NO SHOWS!!! Called in October to get estimate on oak tree trimming. Set up appointment. NO SHOW! Called back and scheduled another appointment. I had used them about 5 years ago so really wanted to stay with them. Owner showed up who was very knowledgeable and talked for an hour and a half, but he needed to have another employee come out to do an estimate. Over a month goes by and nothing. Called up and oops, forgot. Set up another appointment for the next week. An hour after they were to be here called them and they said they would be late an hour. I said they should be here soon. They said no, another hour, so that's two hours late (of course no call ahead for a heads up). You know what's next. NO SHOW AGAIN. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me repeatedly......... read more

I received an email late Thursday 11/2 telling me that my job had been scheduled for 11/6, after hearing nothing since the estimate more than a week earlier. I responded via email within 30 minutes to cancel the day/time. I left messages on the voice mail, sent an email to admin, and left another voice message on the tree emergency line. No one has called me back to confirm they got my messages, to verify the cancellation, or to discuss next steps. That can't qualify as good customer service by any measure. Fallen Leaf did a LOT of tree work for us in October 2021. Although I called them at least three times over the following year to remind them I hadn't received an invoice, I was not billed until today - two years later. Their invoice indicates they submitted a bill a month after doing the work, but they did not. The workmanship was good and we were happy with the results, so of course I paid it. But how the company can stay in business when it takes two years to bill for $4,000 worth of work is beyond me. It makes me feel awkward about recommending them. read more

Did a great job on my towering magnolia last year. Glad I got it done when I did. The trimming and cabling kept it steady in the storms of Jan 2023 when the whole city was falling down. Their work was beautiful. Had a different company trim the trees in the back the year before and they topped every tree and "lightened" the trees in an ugly way. They were really cheap and now I know why. Definitely want to call Fallen Leaf back to trim the backyard trees next year. read more

I called in, and the person who answered my call was perfectly nice, but the answer was that she could not reach the arborist and didn't know if and when he would show up. We got three quotes for tree trimming and scheduled with Fallen Leaf because we had good experience with them a couple other times....they were suppose to arrive Monday 7:30 to 8:00...we stayed home from work to let them in the back yard. At 8:30 they called to say they would not make it and rescheduled for Tues morning...and they did not show up. When called they gave the excuse that a couple of tricks were out of town working, that the employee that quoted us had been terminated....none of which should have been unknown to them when they rescheduled and didn't even have the courtesy to call to cancel. Must be new owner or management because this was horrible. read more

If I could give them zero stars I most definitely would. Fallen Leaf Tree Management went from a dependable, responsive company to a non-responsive, undependable company! We called and left messages at their office, on the cell phone of one of their foreman and e-mailed the office and the owner to have them contact us at their earliest convenience regarding three trees we needed removed and tree trimming on remaining trees. That was over four weeks ago and we have not heard back from them at all. We contacted another tree service company in the area, the owner came out that day, had crews at our property within a week to remove trees and trim trees as we requested. They did a safe, clean and efficient job. We've written a 5 star review for that company! As far as Fallen Leaf Tree Management, we have no use for them and will make sure to steer our neighbors (and anyone else who may need tree service) away from them. read more

For a variety of reasons the three largest trees on my property were taken down, and the stumps ground out. Fallen Leaf Tree Management did the work and vastly exceeded my expectations. Everyone we came into contact with was kind, considerate, helpful - and knew what they were doing. They were particularly cafeful with the safety and protection of each other - but also of my property and family. All team members took pains to cleanup. Not just the direct jobsite, everything they came into contact with. Blowing down the decks, roofing, sweeping up all the dust on the "trails" out to the trucks. Everyone we came in contact with exemplifies this quality of work. The three trees were a Valley Oak (yes with a county tree permit), A Silver Maple, and an Aspen; shoulder height diameters of 30, 42 and 38 inches. Some 10 cords of lumber was hauled off. Two teams, two bobtail trucks / shredders, three runs each to hall it all off. Two days to drop and haul the trees for two crews, one day total for one man to grind all the stumps. Great communication using use an integrated quote/pricing/messaging/invoicing system, which sends you texts when they've left the yard for your jobsite, started work, and completed the work. They set expectations, and then exceed them with quality work. Things break, a couple pieces of equipment did and was returned to the yard to be fixed, which took some time in one case. They were proactive, and called me when they were ready. They scheduled the work then, and did the work as they said they would. I have one bent roof tile, but given how difficult the job, I was expecting much worse. Fallen Leaf was selected from four local Arborist Companies, written bids from all. Some competitors (none of the bidders) said they could be expensive, but in general competitors and customers said good things about the quality of the work - which we found to be true. They turned out to be the cheapest of the bids, but were selected for other reasons. Total cost of work was not much less than ten thousand. Bottom line: Highly recommended. read more

Okay, so Fallen Leaf Tree Management has not done any arbor work for me per se, BUT they were SO KIND when I asked for their help. A one-year old neighborhood cat named Willy had been stuck for nearly a week close to the top of the 90 foot pine tree next to my house. The cat owner and I had been calling and bribing Willy for days. Animal Control and Fire said he'll come down on his own when he gets hungry. He was so high and weak, we really doubted it. His fearful meowing could be heard day and night. Maria, from Fallen Leaf, took my call and immediately dispatched Patrick. He was climbing the giant pine tree within an hour. He got to within 5 feet or so below Willy but the trunk got too thin and was unclimbable. He tried to coax him down for quite a while, but Willy was too scared to make the move. Then he got spooked and climbed almost to the very top of the tree. The rescue attempt was over. On day nine, the fire dept. checked on Willy again, reassuring he'd come down on his own. Maria from Fallen Leaf called. She and Patrick were wondering how the cat was. We said he had come down about 40 feet. They offered to come back, but the cat owner was scared Willy would get spooked again. SOOO, on day 12!! my daughter was over it and decided no matter what she was getting Willy. For almost two hours she coaxed Willy down the last 50 feet and into her arms with smoked salmon and long boards, creating a ramp. He gingerly picked his way lower from branch to branch. He was skinny, but thankful and in pretty good health. He immediately ate, drank and purred. I don't know how he survived--there were some feathers under the tree, so I like to think he caught a bird up there. Anyway, like I said, I have never used Fallen Leaf Tree Management, but I will be calling them yearly from now on to trim all my messy palm trees. Fallen Leaf, thank you!! I don't think there are enough characters available to describe how disreputable, lack of follow thru and abused the "TRUST" they say they hold near and dear to their hearts is. My bid for 10K to remove a few trees that died, remove 2 Liquid Amber trees trim an 40'ish Willow Oak/install a cable to prevent a huge limb falling due to weight, treat 3 redwoods that seemed to be infested and trim 2 trees that had limbs criss crossing. To make a long and upsetting story short: Paid the money before work done (first mistake) Lack of communication regarding when the rest of the work would be completed. Several attempts to contact owner/manager via email met with no response regarding unresolved issues/satisfaction of work additionally needing completed and finally the damage to a 12' 4X4 that was broken during the tree removal. Every time I go into my back yard's park-like setting, all I see is the work that wasnt done to my satisfaction, damage to my yard art (risers/sprinkler damagefrom stump grinding expected) branches that are still tangled and no response from the manager/owner EVEN when I mentioned a request for $ to replace the 12' 4x4. I would definitely refer this company to others as well as use them again for any future tree work. They just spent 1.5 days removing a large dead Silver Maple tree that was within a few feet of our house, trimming several large Elm trees to reduce the end weight and thin out. I only wish I had taken before pictures as the "after" are beautiful, majestic trees. Every safety consideration was made concerning the guys on the ground removing the cut branches to neighboring fences and property. Fallen Leaf removed a tree, and pruned and shaped two others in our front yard. We got a total of 6 quotes and Fallen Leaf was not the cheapest or the most expensive, but our neighbors used them and were happy, so we went with them. Three men did the work over the course of about 6 hours. My husband and I were on the fence about keeping some of the wood, because we didn't want to have to rent a log splitter and deal with a large amount of wood. The day of the job the guys said they'd be happy to leave some of the thinner limbs. They even cut them to size for firewood for us. They did a very nice job cleaning up before they left. They even got a bunch of the leaves that were there before they came this morning. Overall, very happy with the service! We would definitely call for future tree-related needs. read more

To start out I had Fallen Leaf out for an estimate. I received the estimate by e mail March 14th. Great, it was in line, I felt the price was reasonable. I called and said let's go ahead. I was told that it had to be done by 2 separate crews. One to grind the big stump, one to take out the bushes and then the first crew to grind the bush stumps.I said fine, let's get it scheduled. I was given a date for the stump at that time and told the bush removal would be about a month out. Ok, we were having rain at that time so the scheduled date, March 28, had to be rescheduled due to rain. No problem. A couple of weeks passed and I called them. Was told my guy would be calling me. He finally called me last Tuesday morning, he said he could come that morning. I was on my out for work, told him I was home Wednesday, but he was booked. So we decided the following Wednesday. I told him I had an appointment Wednesday at noon but would have someone stay at the house until he finished. He said,"no problem, I will be finished by then." I called Monday to confirm, was told she couldn't confirm as the guy was already gone for the day. (1:21pm), at that time I asked when to expect the removal team.She said I hadn't even been scheduled! I had understood I was supposed to have been scheduled back in March when I said "let's go ahead",She said I should be happy she could get me on the schedule for May 9th. I had arranged for 2 people to be at the house when I had to leave. 8:30 I got a call, that she was confused the guy told her he had set me up for May, not Wednesday. At that point I told her I realized I wasn't a big job but $1500.00 is pretty big to me. I thanked her and told I would have to go else where. Fallen Leaf seems like a pretty good organization. They promise a lot, but didn't deliver. I had a tree removed, which was located very close to my house. I knew there might be some damage because the tree was huge. However, they made it sound like anything they boke, they'd fix. The crew scrapped the side of my house with the tree limbs and bashed in a gutter. When I call them about the problem, they said they'd send their "expensive" repair guy out to look at it. Never heard a peep! Also, the guy that came to do the stump grinding only did part of the stump. Not too happy with Fallen Leaf. read more

Fallen Leaf has a good reputation on Angie 's list, but I had not seen the reviews on yelp before we called. We called Fallen Leaf for an estimate and Gabe came out. He seemed very friendly and knowledgeable. He told us that they would cut down the tree in question and then cut around the stump and poison it so that the invasive roots would die. They came out on time and had the tree down fairly quickly. They cleaned up all of the tree mess and threw the thing into a chipper. That's when the appointment turned weird. This other heavy set guy shows up and says he's there to remove the stump. We explain to him that Gabe told us it would be poisoned and left to sit there for a few weeks. This tree produces a lot of suckers and the poison was supposed to help with that problem. The guy had a bit of an attitude but said that since it was supposed to rain that evening, he would be back the next day, after the rain, to cut the stump and poison it. So the next day goes by, and nobody shows up. Then another, and another, and another. I finally call Gabe, and he told me that they would be out that evening, and they were. I can't help but to think that had I not called, nobody would have come out. So to sum it up, Gabe is a nice guy and has some great employees, just make sure that everything you expected and paid for is done. BTW - the "poison" isn't doing jack. The demon tree and it's spawn live on. I did some research that stated that the poison should have been applied within 24 hours of the cutting of the tree. I'm not sure if that's what the problem is but it's still there - mocking us and seemingly producing more spawn. Dumb tree read more

I recently received a bid from Fallen Leaf that was 2.5 times higher than a competitor's bid. After choosing to use another company, that had all of the needed insurance coverage, Fallen Leaf then lowered their bid considerably after being contacted by another landscape company that had recommended them. This bid was for some work at an older friend of mine's house and it is still several hundred dollars higher than the other bid. This was not very business like and I would get other bids before using Fallen Leaf. I will NEVER use or recommend Fallen Leaf. read more

Not impressed. We used Fallen Leaf several years ago and we were satisfied with their tree work and customer service. However, this time around, Fallen Leaf switched the date for the work to be completed and when I tried to alert them of this, I was told that the date previously confirmed with their office and again via email was no longer available. After back and forth, they were able to come out as initially scheduled. As for the tree work itself, when the crew came out I expressed concern that the canopies on the tree work were still too low and wanted additional work done and the crew said that if I had any questions or concerns to feel free to call and they would come back out and take care of it. I did call the office during regular business hours--several times--and it went straight to voice mail. My calls were never returned. In the past, we have used Davey Tree and had been very satisfied. Davey was more expensive which is why we tried Fallen Leaf this time. I guess you get what you pay for and we stick with Davey Tree going forward. read more

In our recent storm I had a limb break on our large redwood tree covering a school walk-way adjacent to our house. I called and swear their receptionist Tony said it would cost $300 for an emergency call out and $100 dollars an hour thereafter. Low and behold they were out at my house, threw a rope over the limb, tied the rope to their truck and tore it the rest of the way off and chucked it in the wood chipper. Cost $450 dollars. Called to ask why it was another $50.00 over what I had estimated and Tony tells me that it was $300 for the call out and $300 an each hour thereafter. The guys left without even giving me a bill. Just seems completely shady for what they actually did. Looking for a licensed arborsit to have on call and never using this company again. read more
