After contacting a few tree trimming companies, we hired Greenwood Tree Service to trim a couple of two large trees in our backyard. Both Enrique and his son were very professional, yet friendly and knowledgeable, in how much trimming they can do (Oak trees), and in the actual trimming. We were pleased at the amount of trimming, and in the cleanup. After the trimming, they cleaned not only the roof but also the ground around our front, back, and side yard. Their fee was $600 but well worth it. It helped in the amount of work that we didn't need to do moving forward. We will definitely contact them again for future needs. A large pine tree uprooted and fell at our property and crashed through the fence into a public space. The timing was not ideal, as we had to leave for vacation the next day. Greenwood Tree Service was fantastic to work with. While they were not the cheapest option, Enrique was the only one who brought up the fact that utilities needed to be called before any work was started. They removed two large surface rooted trees from our front yard and trimmed up 4 red maples along the side yard. We were amazed at how quickly and the trees came down and how he was able to remove the roots and stumps without completely tearing up the yard. Over the course of 2 weeks time and 3 days of work, after the initial quote I had 3 diseased and dying trees removed from my property. Relatively quick considering this is busy season in this type of work. Carpenter ants and drought have been the major cause for disease and carpenter ants getting into my house was major cause for concern in removing the trees completely due to being the main source. Carpenter ants are big in Arden Arcade and Carmichael areas from what I have been advised. I had lost 3 large limbs over the course of the last 2 winters due to storms and hollow dry rotted trunks/limbs, as well as thick bark falling and trunks peeling. This was the greenest/most leaves my trees have produced over the last few years and it was due to all the rain we received this year; however, trees were still diseased and dying, no point to keep unhealthy trees with no recovery rate to fall and land on the house. A sprinkler line was busted in the back yard upon grinding, but it looks like it was bad placement prior to the tree being planted. All trees appeared to be about 30-40 years give or take due to hollowing out of trunks and carpenter ant damage was hard to tell. Most roots were removed including chasing of the surface roots where not near concrete or fence. Enrique Cabral is the owner and he is very nice, as well as responsive; however, there appeared to some issues with 811 so I had to make additional request which caused delay due to not notating a 3rd tree in the back side yard to be reviewed for digging as well by PG&E. Will have a bit of difficulty locating broken sprinkler pipeline after being covered back up with dirt, but that water will let it be found soon enough. haha... Clean up was good. Only other complaint was side gate/RV access was opened up without asking and bottom boards I put in place to keep the Chihuahua in were removed. I brought this up with the owner and it was corrected upon arrival of the tree grinding. Overall was happy with the results and the price, not the cheapest, but was good. I had 5 quotes done and Greenwood was recommended by a friend. Was a 3 man crew, with Enrique, the owner, as the 4th man. Work was all done relatively quickly. Trees were cut down to minute stumps after day #1, 3hours. Excess logs were removed day 2 (the next day). Day 3 (was the following week) stump grinding 2.5hours. read more
