We hired TreeMax to trim a row of 15 mature cypress trees between our house and our neighbors. Trees were a good 75 ft tall. We lost one of them in last year's wind and rain storm and didn't want to risk a repeat of that this year! I rate this a 3.5. Here's why. When they provided the estimate on tree removal they never told me that it did not include the costs of grinding the stump. The estimator should have made that clear. One, who wants to remove a tree without grinding the stump? Two, now I have hire someone to come back to grind the stump, pay an extra fee and expend additional time to complete the project. Really irritating. Other than that, service and professionalism were fine. Estimates were within range of other bids I received...but the other estimates also included the costs of grinding the stump. Had they given me the estimate on grinding the stump, I would have rated them 4-5. read more

We bought a house at the beginning of 2022. Tree max came out to cut a tree on our home while we were still in escrow. We came by the day we were closing and our tree was gone. We only found out who did it through our new neighbors cameras. We called them to try to find out who cut our tree down. Once we got them out, they didn't know who, they said they didn't get paid and still charged us $250 to remove the stump they left. My husband was an arborist and knows, whenever you cut a tree down, you get documentation to make sure the person asking for the tree removed is a legit person who owns the property. This person had absolutely no info on who hired him. But he absolutely made sure we gave him all our info (home ownership , ID, license and whatnot). Had he done that from the get go, he would've known not to just Chop a beautiful tree down with no info and no payment. Nor would we he had charged us for a mistake in his part. I waited a while to write the review hoping he would remedy his mistake, and hoping I would get over it. I will honestly say I am still very salty over this. We had to plant a new tree which will take 30 years to get as big and as nice as the tree removed, after paying $250 to have the stump removed for HIS MISTAKE. Honestly, he should've offered to pay for a new tree instead of charging us. Edit to add: again, this shows how you did business. What the real estate agent did had nothing to do with us. The fact that you didn't confirm who hired you to do the job is on you. We weren't about to leave an ugly stump in the yard, so with much dismay, we went ahead and had you finish the job. Sadly, yes, someone out there did probably scam you. They did every one wrong. But you didn't right it either. read more

Max and his team did a great job in removing a massive tree in the backyard of my duplex. It wasn't an easy task because it was behind a brick wall and they have a large crane to cut it up and drop the grinder machine over the brick wall. Many other arborist turn down the job because they did not have a crane or the job was to massive that it was beyond their scope of experience or liability. Max was able to schedule a permit from the city to remove the tree and safely removed it without any accident. My tenants on both sides of the duplex were extremely happy that the tree was gone. We had Tree Max out for a very challenging oak tree trim. We wanted to spare the tree, while protecting our neighbor from damage. Max brought in a truck mounted crane and a bucket truck to tackle the job. It turned out amazing! The tree is balanced and healthy looking! It was clear, itemized, reasonable and included the photos Daniel took. Once I approved the bid a date was set for the job to be completed. Max was an excellent communicator and inquired if we had any questions. On the day of the job they called to notify that they were running early. Upon arrival they reviewed the yard and what was to be done. Once all questions were answered and everything agreed upon his crew of 4 worked on 3 projects. Max, being the monkey in the tree was amazingly efficient. His crew were careful and respective of our yard as they cleared all limbs and raked the sawdust. They use a very efficient stump grinder.
