Anyone can carry a chainsaw in a pickup truck, but expertise matters, especially in Sacramento with lovely, large, old trees! Robert and his crew were on time and very helpful. Robert also revised his initial diagnosis of a tree and said that it had gotten much wore in the few weeks since he had seen it last. I work in Property Management and these guys were recommended to me when I needed two 70 foot redwood trees removed from my backyard. I also had them do (a total of) 5 stump grindings, chop down a young tree that had been randomly planted and then in the last minute, asked them to trim back the entire line of trees hanging over my fence from the neighbors back yard, and did ALL the disposal (you don't want to dispose of two redwood trees on your own). The owner (Willie) came out to do the bid, and had a quote to me quickly. He came in at half the price that another bid at (hooray!). We booked the job, they came out and did the work quickly, efficiently, politely, and cleaned up wonderfully afterwards. The guy that did the actually chopping/trimming work was incredible! So much skill... Afterwards, I got the bill, and even with the extra last minute property line trim-back, the actual bill barely changed from the estiamte. It's almost as if they threw it in without charge. I would absolutely recommend these guys to anyone that needs tree work done. Terrible customer service; very poor work and I was poorly treated. I would never hire this company again and will have to have my roof inspected before payment bc they dropped large branches on it. If I was a man, I very much doubt that I would have been treated so ill. I have been with this company for over 20 years. They spray my two modesto ash every year. This year one of the trees dies. Not unusual with the drought and the fact that it was over 60 years old. They removed the tree and ground the stump and the charge was over $2500.00. Not complaining about that. This year though when they came to spray my one remaining modesto ash tree I was charged the same amount as the past years for two trees. They said it was their minimum charge to come out. Really? Recently, our big maple behind our house started to tilt out of the ground. Bill Carroll came to our house and explained the mechanics behind what was happening as well as giving us a quick prognosis. He wrote us up a quote that was priced around what we expected so we scheduled service ASAP. I have to admit, we were very nervous as the majority of the tree leaned over a flimsy patio cover and our house. It took a total of two days to remove the tree, but they did so in a clean, quiet fashion and our structure was never in any danger at all. I live in Mather. With the Air show coming this weekend and a house full of people dropping by to view it, I had to get the 3, 30 foot Fruitless Pear trees in my back yard cut back so we could see the show. I called them on Tuesday afternoon, their estimator came Wednesday morning and they scheduled me for Thursday morning. The crew showed up at 7:15 and by 11:30am they were done. I had 7 huge (approx 20 to 40 yr) oak trees cleaned out to remove dead limps and clear away from house plus even putting a cable between two separate oak trees as I did not want to lose them. They also pruned up some other trees that were not oak. I was so impressed with not only their professionalism and great customer service but also how the crew disposed of the brush and debris completely...even blowing off everything when finished. Their head arborist, Mr. Carroll, was able to give me such expert advice in regards to how to save some trees that I was not willing to let go off yet. I HIGHLY recommend this company. If you love your trees, this is the company to use. They have done work for me on several different occasions, as well as providing consultations and advice, and they have been wonderful every time. Their chief arborist, Willie Carroll, loves trees and it shows. He is very knowledgeable, professional, courteous, honest, reliable and any other positive adjective you could think of. Under his supervision, the crew has performed pruning (on more than one occasion) and cabling of my gigantic, beloved heritage oak, pruning of my sycamore, removal of some junk and diseased trees, and planting of new trees. First and second impressions! Tree Care Inc. was recommended by a friend two years ago. First time I called, was placed on hold for several minutes. Second time, a female answered (half answered), she stumbled with the name of the company and was having a conversation with someone in the office. Once she finally gives me the time of day, I explain my reason for calling she placed me on hold. After two minutes someone else takes my call I had to explain a second time my reason for calling. If potential customers are treated with little regard at the onset then it probably reflects on how they perform their jobs. Sadly, I was very disappointed with their olive tree services and called to voice my concerns. It took 6 months for them to finally get back to me (after numerous calls and emails) and they did nothing to rectify the situation. Tree Care carefully pruned 2 apple trees and a Japanese maple. Cannot believe how much dead wood/branches they removed. Best job anyone has ever done on my apple trees. They were meticulous in their clean up. Have used them for spraying in the past and will continue to use them to keep my apple trees healthy. read more

Had a 40 foot tall African Sumac removed by Tree Care Inc. They were able to get us scheduled fairly quickly and when they showed up they made short work of the tree. The next week they sent someone back to grind the stump. Unfortunately he didn't do a very good job. (I understand he is no longer with the company.) When I complained that there we still so many roots that I couldn't plant, they were quick to send a crew back out. They spent an hour and half grinding roots! Carlos and Max did a fantastic job leaving us with a bed that will be heaven for some new low growing shrubs. (No more African Sumac trees for us.) read more

Their bid to take out two trees was three times as much as four other bids. Unless you have money to burn, don't call this company.

I hired Tree Care Inc. to remove two fruitless pear trees as well as trim back neighbors trees to property line with a 10-15 foot clearance about our roof and children's play structure in the backyard. While they came to complete the job, most of the time was spent on the removal of the trees and the trimming along the property line and above the roof was completely half heartily and not up to standard. The guys ran out of time and we were told they needed to be back by 3:30 to empty the truck. They spent barely an hour doing a crappy job because their truck was full, they needed to be approved for overtime, and they plain didn't want to do it. A different crew came out to complete the stump grinding and they even said the job didn't look good and we need to complain. Complained to arborist Bill, who was the original one to come give us a quote, and he basically went back on everything we agreed upon. While I did have a contract, it was not all written down in specific detail (stupid me, didn't realize EVERYTHING needed to be written down specifically) and he went back on everything we agreed upon. He stated what we talked about and agreed upon never took place, he made things up about needed written permission from neighbor, even though He himself received verbal permission from the neighbor and states that never took place. Not to mention ALL the work was being done on our side of the property line. He basically called me a liar stating that I was confusing him with some other company, when HE was the only company I was dealing with at the time. Totally dishonest, horrible work, and even worse customer service!! Do NOT use Tree Care Inc. for any of your tree work unless you want to get screwed! read more

They cut down two large pine trees in our neighbors backyard, leaving a mess of debris and limbs in and on our pool and backyard. The Foreman on the job said they would clean it up but they just took off with out a word. The owner Mike called me at my request and what a jerk.. Don't waste your time or money. I wanted a company who had a certified tree arborist to advise how to care for the silver maple in our front yard. I saw mistletoe starting to sprout at the top of a few of its branches. The gentleman who showed said he saw no mistletoe and offered to cut down my beautiful tree!
