Tree Care went above and beyond for me in a difficult situation. Robert, the arborist, came out on short notice to provide a quote for trimming a number of high branches I needed to cut due to insurance non-renewal. It was the least expensive quote of the several companies I contacted with a licensed arborist. The day of the trimming, there was a miscommunication between me and the neighbor, so a lot of the branches didn't get cut as far back as I planned. When the insurance company reiterated the non-renewal due to the remaining branches, Robert and his crew came back and finished the original job for me without an additional charge, and helped my neighbors and me talk through the process. He even wrote a letter for me to forward to the insurance company! My insurance was just renewed today, saving me a lot of headaches, so I wanted to be sure and thank Robert and the team at Tree Care for doing a great job in saving me from losing my insurance. read more

We have used Tree Care twice. A year ago or so they removed a tree that was a nuisance, they also removed the stump. And they trimmed our trees "the right way." We had used a different arborist once before who just topped one of our trees which caused it to become very unattractive and unhealthy. Yesterday we reached out with an emergency need for a stump to be ground out - we are in the last stages of a landscaping project and discovered a buried stump that previous owners must have left after cutting down the tree. It has been growing underground for years and the roots were too big to just chop out by hand. Plus it was sending up new growth, we didn't realize the source until this new project. Tree Care came out and took care of the stump early this morning, kept the sawdust from going everywhere, had it out and cleaned up in less than two hours - all without harming the brand new drip system and electrical wiring for pathway lights. Anyone can carry a chainsaw in a pickup truck, but expertise matters, especially in Sacramento with lovely, large, old trees! Robert and his crew were on time and very helpful. Robert also revised his initial diagnosis of a tree and said that it had gotten much wore in the few weeks since he had seen it last. Instead of doing the original heavy pruning, he recommended that his crew simply cut the tree down, which they did...with no extra charge. As a group, they were polite, thoughtful, and left no trace of their work behind other that trees that were properly shaped and thinned. I have been with this company for over 20 years. They spray my two modesto ash every year. This year one of the trees dies. Not unusual with the drought and the fact that it was over 60 years old. They removed the tree and ground the stump and the charge was over $2500.00. Not complaining about that. This year though when they came to spray my one remaining modesto ash tree I was charged the same amount as the past years for two trees. They said it was their minimum charge to come out. Really? No discount after all those years of service? i called their office regarding this and they would not back down. read more

Recently, our big maple behind our house started to tilt out of the ground. Bill Carroll came to our house and explained the mechanics behind what was happening as well as giving us a quick prognosis. He wrote us up a quote that was priced around what we expected so we scheduled service ASAP. I have to admit, we were very nervous as the majority of the tree leaned over a flimsy patio cover and our house. It took a total of two days to remove the tree, but they did so in a clean, quiet fashion and our structure was never in any danger at all. I work in Property Management and these guys were recommended to me when I needed two 70 foot redwood trees removed from my backyard. I also had them do (a total of) 5 stump grindings, chop down a young tree that had been randomly planted and then in the last minute, asked them to trim back the entire line of trees hanging over my fence from the neighbors back yard, and did ALL the disposal (you don't want to dispose of two redwood trees on your own). The owner (Willie) came out to do the bid, and had a quote to me quickly. He came in at half the price that another bid at (hooray!). We booked the job, they came out and did the work quickly, efficiently, politely, and cleaned up wonderfully afterwards. The guy that did the actually chopping/trimming work was incredible! So much skill... Afterwards, I got the bill, and even with the extra last minute property line trim-back, the actual bill barely changed from the estiamte. It's almost as if they threw it in without charge. I would absolutely recommend these guys to anyone that needs tree work done. I live in Mather. With the Air show coming this weekend and a house full of people dropping by to view it, I had to get the 3, 30 foot Fruitless Pear trees in my back yard cut back so we could see the show. I called them on Tuesday afternoon, their estimator came Wednesday morning and they scheduled me for Thursday morning. The crew showed up at 7:15 and by 11:30am they were done. I had 7 huge (approx 20 to 40 yr) oak trees cleaned out to remove dead limps and clear away from house plus even putting a cable between two separate oak trees as I did not want to lose them. They also pruned up some other trees that were not oak. I was so impressed with not only their professionalism and great customer service but also how the crew disposed of the brush and debris completely...even blowing off everything when finished. Their head arborist, Mr. Carroll, was able to give me such expert advice in regards to how to save some trees that I was not willing to let go off yet. I HIGHLY recommend this company. We have used this service for about 20 years. We have a large Modesto Ash in our backyard which they have helped us to preserve and keep healthy. Their crew was in our yard this week pruning the Ash tree and removing a large Eucalyptus. Today they delivered a wood "splitter" to facilitate chopping up the large logs that we were left with. This piece of machinery costs $100 a day from Home Depot, and he is letting us use it for free for as long as we need. (within reason, I'm sure). They also do a great job of clean-up when they are finished with their job. I highly recommend this company. read more

If you love your trees, this is the company to use. They have done work for me on several different occasions, as well as providing consultations and advice, and they have been wonderful every time. Their chief arborist, Willie Carroll, loves trees and it shows. He is very knowledgeable, professional, courteous, honest, reliable and any other positive adjective you could think of. Under his supervision, the crew has performed pruning (on more than one occasion) and cabling of my gigantic, beloved heritage oak, pruning of my sycamore, removal of some junk and diseased trees, and planting of new trees. We called and made an appointment to have these people come out and look at a tree due to concerns it might need to be cut down. They gave us a time of 12-2pm on the day we wanted. Called them a little after 2pm the day of the appointment for them to tell us the guy was not able to make it out due to an appointment. They claimed they called us a little after 12pm and left a voice message telling us he would not make it even though they confirmed the appointment the night prior. We did not have a missed call or a voice message from them. They took no responsibility for their error and attempted to blame us for missing the call that we never received. It took 6 months for them to finally get back to me (after numerous calls and emails) and they did nothing to rectify the situation. First and second impressions! Tree Care Inc. was recommended by a friend two years ago. First time I called, was placed on hold for several minutes. Second time, a female answered (half answered), she stumbled with the name of the company and was having a conversation with someone in the office. Once she finally gives me the time of day, I explain my reason for calling she placed me on hold. After two minutes someone else takes my call I had to explain a second time my reason for calling. If potential customers are treated with little regard at the onset then it probably reflects on how they perform their jobs. They were nice enough, but charged $90 to come out and evaluate a City sycamore tree for a pruning appeal, which I had discussed with them beforehand- they told me they did this type of work (tree risk assessment, pruning appeals, etc.). So, the arborist looked at the tree, told me he thought it should be replaced with a different species, and that he would write the report for the City of Sac. The evaluation and report were to cost $120 rather than $90 for the evaluation. A few hours later, an administrative assistant contacted me to say that the arborist and owner didn't want to do the appeal/reeport after all, and I was out $90, plus I lost time trying to find someone who would be willing to help. read more

Tree Care carefully pruned 2 apple trees and a Japanese maple. Cannot believe how much dead wood/branches they removed. Best job anyone has ever done on my apple trees.
