Excellent. This is the third time that we have used Friendly Tree Care to do some major tree pruning. We have two large Plane trees (looks like a Sycamore), about 60' tall, that had grown wild and had lots of dead branches. Fabian and his crew did a wonderful job pruning and reshaping these big trees. They also trimmed a Corkscrew Willow tree. I have been using Fabian for years, and I am sorry I am just now yelping about him. He is by far the most professional, efficient, and cost-effective tree service we use. We employ him for tree removal and trimming. A few times we've called him for advice and he came for free, gave advice, and refused to charge us as we previously had employed him, paid on time, etc. He is amazing! I regret to say we once went with another service, BP, as they were like $300 cheeper on a project, but we were very unsatisfied. We are beyond pleased with the work Fabian and his crew did for us this last month. They took down one very large Chinese Tallow tree that had a fragile understory of treasured plants beneath it. None of those plants (and one sizeable Japanese Maple) were harmed. I wanted 8 trees cut and removed and 2 of them were tall and older. From the first meet to get the estimate, they were professional and made me feel the care. All my questions were answered and more information was shared with me that normally no one will bother to mention because they only want to take your money. I was quoted a very reasonable estimate. I had gotten several other estimates but no one took so much pride in their work and showed how much they care from the start. I signed and agreed and scheduled the job with them. They were on schedule - even came early as their schedule allowed. They did expert thinning and shaping of a very large tree, cutting thicker branches only - not disturbing the new growth. Called Fabian for tree trimming estimate October 2018. He came right away but didn't make it to my front door. Saw him start to approach but then went straight to my huge tree. The surprise for me, when I joined him, the one huge branch that gracefully arched over the street was cracked by the trunk. He could see the crack from the street. Sadly, I had to set an early December date for him to take that branch and trim the rest of the tree, as I was going to be out of State over Thanksgiving. Well, as it turned out, Fabian contacted me around the 18th of November to ask if he could move the date up due to high wind predictions. I was still out of State, but agreed it would be best and asked if he could text photos to subdue the "shock" when I come home, to which he kindly obliged. Fabian and team were great from start to finish. I had a dead tree to remove, and during the consultation, it was clear that Fabian had a lot of expertise and knowledge. He even provided an assessment of the health of another tree in my yard and gave me lots of helpful tips on caring for it. Loved that they showed up in masks and on time both days. Had 8 trees trimmed and they also finished grinding some stumps that a previous company only did surface grinding. Fabian is professional, "Friendly", and reasonably quoted the job. Fabian is one of the few contractors for our home that we remain very pleased with & would hire again. Did a great job, gave lots of great tips (such as using neem oil for an organic way to control aphids and fungus). He stated he'd cut our tree logs into smaller parts for free so i can use it for our wedding. He forgot and shredded our trees. But brought me other logs from his stores when i asked about it. Fabian was honest about what needed to be done and how often we should have the trees maintained, and he answered all of our questions along the way. So we looked up this company on yelp and were impressed with the reviews. We noticed the map covers most of the I50 corridor. They advertise service in the following areas.... serving Fair Oaks, Folsom, Citrus Heights, Orangevale, East Sacramento, Arden Arcade, American River. Our address is off I50 on Bradshaw in the zoned map area on their website, and is 15 miles from Folsom, 10 miles from Citrus Heights and right off of Bradshaw. The company had a very polite lady fielding calls but told us we were outside of their service area. If this is accurate then why do they put a service map that is different then what they tell customers? Highly disappointed in the process but in fairness we did not get to experience their actual work Update - I received a response from the owner of this business. He started by admitting to the issue and apologized for not having accurate service maps on Yelp but......then proceeded to tell me that I took to yelp to disparage his family owned business and that his receptionists offered to service me. My reply is this...over 85% of my reviews are highly positive with 4 or 5 stars. All of my reviews are factual based on my experience during that visit. So in no way am I someone that simply uses yelp to hurt businesses. I am a huge proponent of small businesses and you can tell that by looking at the businesses I review. The facts on this incident are and will continue to be that this company had a map showing service to my house, but when called, I was told they don't. That's it. I did not criticize the actual work because no work was performed. I will also tell the owner that your receptionist did NOT offer in ANY way to make an exception or resolve my request by servicing us. In addition I was on my hands free car system and my wife and 28 year old son listened in on the conversation. If your receptionist told you otherwise, then you have other integrity issues within your business. Finally, as a former business executive handling hundreds of millions of dollars of business, I would coach you in your replies. If you want to reach out to customers and apologize, that's great and it's a true foundation for a successful business. But reaching out, apologizing then telling the customer they are wrong or lied does your business no good. If you disagree, then simply don't reply. If you you want to discuss incidents, than be neutral in your response. But debating a customer will only make your business look non customer centric. I called Friendly Tree Care on Monday and Fabian returned my call fairly quick! He came over in the evening after his day to give us a estimate on getting two trees removed. I was glad they were able to get over so fast to give us the estimate. Gustavo, Fabian's business partner, was also there and we were ably to meet him as well. They looked at our project and give us a verbal estimate, later that evening I received an e-mail from Fabian with the written estimate. They were able to come over two days later to do the work. We were not home when they started, but, they communicated to us when they would be there (we let them know when we met them we didn't need to be there). When I got home I was happy to see the trees were gone and they cleaned up pretty good. Everything we agreed on was completed to our full satisfaction!!!
