    My view

My stay at the Fairmont Hotel was, without exaggeration, the worst experience I've ever had at a luxury hotel. To start, I was promised a room with a view and instead was given what can only be described as a jail cell--staring directly at brick walls. For the price per night, that alone was completely unacceptable. I was then moved to a different room on the 10th floor, which turned out to be even worse. There was a loud, persistent banging noise coming from the ceiling throughout the entire night. It went on and off constantly and made it impossible to sleep--I genuinely got almost no rest. The next day, after explaining the situation, I was offered only a minimal refund, which felt completely inadequate given that I had essentially paid for a sleepless night. I was then moved yet again to another room, where the shower drain was so severely clogged that I couldn't even finish washing my hair without the bathtub starting to overflow. Overall, this was an absolutely miserable experience from start to finish. For a hotel at this price point and reputation, the level of quality, comfort, and service fell far below expectations. Extremely disappointing and not at all the standard I would expect from what is supposed to be a luxury hotel. Also worth mentioning--booking this hotel was a frustrating experience in itself. When I called to make the reservation, the representative was incredibly slow and made what should have been a simple process unnecessarily difficult. I provided a corporate code to add a personal night, and she couldn't seem to process it correctly. I ended up being stuck on the phone for nearly an hour just trying to book a basic room, which is honestly ridiculous for a hotel of this supposed caliber.

Great location, short walk into Georgetown. Full gym, not just a hotel gym. The balance gym within the hotel is a full service gym that guests have access to and includes a large selection of weights, cardio, and classes. Also 2 peloton bikes. There are water fill stations in the hallways. Room was clean and spacious. Beds very comfortable. Balconies face the courtyard. Staff is friendly. There is a cocktail lounge with food. Valet parking is available. The TV has Chromecast so you can stream directly to it. Really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again.

This is my favorite place to be after work for some cocktails and appetizers. Good time his friend my Bestie on a picture we have this place.

This is a lovely hotel. The lobby is gorgeous, with its massive metal sculpture with various open geometric figures hanging over the width of the lounge. All the public areas and hallways look fresh and very upscale. Check-in was gracious; I had applied for standby upgrade and went from a signature room to a 700-square foot capital corner suite for only an additional $61 a night, which gave me a great rate for a wonderful room. Lots of space, including a dining nook for four and a full couch in a sitting area. The bathroom was pretty standard (no handheld fixture, either) and the linens on the bed weren't quite as nice as you might expect, but the mattress and pillows were great and overall the room looked great and had nice lighting as well. There are only a couple of negatives -- they are missing a real signature dining experience (the bar/lounge menu is good, but there's nothing like the Blue Duck Tavern at the Hyatt across the street) and the location isn't the best for tourists. The nearest Metro stop (Foggy Bottom) is a 10-15 minute walk away and there's not much that's conveniently walkable in the area. I walked from the McPherson Square area back to the Fairmont, and it took about 20 minutes. So it's doable, but not that handy.

I had a great staycation here. I stayed in a room that was part of Fairmont Gold, which has its own floor with its own concierge and lounge area. The Fairmont gold lounge also had complimentary breakfast and canapés in the evening. The canapés were actually more substantial than what I was expecting which was a pleasant surprise. They also had drinks and other snacks throughout the day available. I also enjoyed going down to the bar and having drinks in the beautiful lobby. My room was comfortable and nicely decorated. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely want to come back.

Convenient location for business or pleasure. I enjoyed walked to many locations. Both checkin and out were quick and all staff members I encountered were extremely professional and well trained. Rooms were OK, I had the shower towel rack fall and hit the back of my foot while showering which was unpleasant. Did get to alert anyone but by the time I got back that evening the room attendant had fixed it. Even the newest -2 days employee was ready and willing to hail a taxi for me when I had Uber woes. Didn't dine at Juniper but noteworthy is the fact that it is across the street from Blue Duck Tavern. Choose it, you will not be disappointed based on the painstaking attention to details and impeccable customer service.

Exceptional service- clean- friendly! Highly recommend for a conference or banquet. The service people were so very friendly and accommodating. The bar is nice as well to grab a quick bite or a drink after a long day.

We recently stayed at the Fairmont for a quick staycation weekend with our dog. We thoroughly enjoyed our time. They were very dog friendly. It's so nice to bring him along with us to the lobby and enjoy some food and drinks. It was walking distance to M street. There's a dog park 2 minute walk away. Even a dog ER center down the block. After our stay we found out they were voted best staycation hotel in dc and we agree!

I treated a friend to the Cherry Blossom Afternoon tea this past Sunday. We enjoyed the atrium, valet parking was $30, and customer service was good. However, the Fairmont was lacking ambience. We expected it to be decked out in cherry blossom theme decor since it was technically a special event. I enjoyed the sweet cherry desserts more than the savory ones. The $95 price point included only one 3-tier stand of small bites, one pot of tea and one glass of champagne. Ultimately, I did not think it was worth the price. I would probably try a different hotel for afternoon tea next time.

The hotel is great. The staff members are nice. The lobby area has several places to visit or just chill. The hotel is a great venue for meetings as well. Foggy Bottom metro is a few blocks away. Guests can use the pool, gym, sauna & jacuzzi.

Spent Veterans Day weekend here with family. The hotel was conveniently located. 2 metro stations (Farragut North and Foggy bottom) as well as the Georgetown neighborhood are 15 minutes away by foot. The interior was spacious, clean, bright and elegantly decorated. The staff members were professional, courteous and very helpful. Check-in was very smooth. The rooms were large and well-laid out with many amenities. They included Le Labo toiletries, bathrobes, comfy beds, plenty of clean towels, and streaming options. We also had free access to the Balance gym, pool, and hot tub, and courtyard. Check-out time is 1pm instead of the usual 11am. They will also stow luggage if you want to sightsee (before check-in or after check-out). We enjoyed relaxing at the lobby bar during happy hour (and got complimentary bar snacks) as well as the courtyard lounge fire pit in the late evening (over well-crafted cocktails).

What a great location and the neighborhood feels so welcoming. Our room was very nice and comfortable. The main thing is sleep so our goal is to always have a comfortable bed, and this hotel delivered. We arrived early in the morning and I was afraid they would not let us check in, but they did.

No it does not. The elevators go to the regular residential floors without restriction. Key card access is required to access the premium Fairmont Gold levels (9 and 10 I think).

If you have the opportunity to catch one of these evenings, it is absolutely worth the effort. I arrived early and stopped at Off the Record for a drink before heading upstairs. The bartender mentioned that this event also helps provide additional hours for staff during the slower month of August, which made me appreciate the concept even more. The Top of the Hay itself is stunning. The views and setting are exactly what you would expect from such an iconic DC property, and getting to experience a space that is typically reserved for private events made the evening feel particularly special. The drinks were also excellent. Sweet, but not overly sweet. But what really stood out was the staff. I do not say this lightly. The service was outstanding. I genuinely wish I had caught everyone's names because anyone working between roughly 4:30 and 7:30 that evening in the lobby, Off the Record, or Top of the Hay deserves recognition and a raise! Every person I interacted with was incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing. What impressed me most was that the staff remembered my schedule for the evening and made sure I left Off the Record at exactly the right time so I could be the first person to step into Top of the Hay when it opened. That level of attention to detail is rare. Beautiful space, great drinks, and truly exceptional hospitality. "Be Gin the Evening" is such a clever way to let locals and visitors experience a part of The Hay Adams they otherwise might never see. I would absolutely do it again.

For the rates they charge, the conditions and service are unacceptable. The building is old, heavily dated, and features cheap fixings. The bathroom is tiny, featuring a cramped round sink with virtually zero counter space to set down any personal items. Furthermore, for a five-star hotel, lacking a proper hot tub and standalone shower is unacceptable. The towels provided are cheap, rough, and feel entirely out of place at this price point. The bathroom ventilation is so old and loud, that I can't even believe it's there. No fridge in the room, only a mini bar that will charge you if you move around mini bar items to place your own drinks. The view of the White House was severely misadvertised. To actually see it, you are required to pay an extra $700 on top of an already steep $600-per-night room rate. The acoustic insulation is non-existent. If anyone is staying in the room above you, forget about sleeping--every single footstep and movement carries straight through. The front desk staff was entirely dismissive. After promising to switch our room to resolve our issues, they dragged us through three separate attempts, wasted hours of our time with non-responsive answers, and then finally demanded we pay even more money to fix their mistake. After we went through, not even a complimentary breakfast or really anything. Shocked that this place is more expensive than Four Seasons, St. Regents, and the kind. This is barely a three star hotel (except location of course). Stay away.

Overall, a stylish, safe, and seriously fun stay. More details from my review on Google: Rooms: The rooms were exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The turndown service was a lovely touch, and everything in the room was perfect throughout my stay. Safety: The hotel elevators felt extremely secure and high-tech. Walkability: The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of plenty of things to do, as well as the locations I needed to access for work. The location made my stay easy and convenient. Food & drinks: The hotel restaurant and bar had a nice atmosphere, and the food was good, but everything felt extremely overpriced. Charging $24 for one drink is absurd. I enjoyed the experience overall, but the prices make it difficult to recommend. Noteworthy details: From the moment I arrived, I was treated like a regular.
