Be very careful renting from Fahrni Realty if you're trying to live a somewhat normal life. Most of their tenants are Section 8, and they show no class or consideration for their neighbors or surroundings. Expect blasting bass music from multiple units all day, every day. On top of that, some keep roosters crammed in tiny cages, crowing nonstop from as early as 3 AM. When I complained, the realtor told me to "file a police report or call animal control," which blew my mind. Every landlord I've ever had before had strict rules--fines or even eviction after repeated complaints. Moral of the story: if you rent here, prepare to live next to the worst of the worst. There are no rules, no consequences, and reckless living is completely unchecked. I'm setting up security cameras to document what I've been dealing with from these inconsiderate neighbors. My plan is to share the footage publicly so people can see exactly what I've had to go through. Over time, with enough evidence, I hope to take legal action against them for disturbing the peace, disrupting my sleep, and preventing me from enjoying my own home. I may also pursue action against the realty company for failing to take this situation seriously despite knowing about the issues. read more

First of all, I'm surprised by the negative reviews Fahrni Realty has received. In contrast, I found the staff to be professional, good communicators and attentive to details. Unlike so many other brokerages/mgmt firms in the area, Fahrni actually answers calls & responds to emails inquiring about listings, as opposed to sending automated replies urging you to "submit an application". When we first moved to Hawaii, our family was looking for a place to call home as we were not sure how long we would be living here. Since we were new to Oahu, we really weren't sure how to find what we were looking for until we turn to Fahrni Realty for help. They had a very nice 3 bedroom, 3 bath condo, situated near the pool area with a nice backyard, a separate washroom, and a 2 car garage. A hard place to find on Oahu, where living space and storage areas are hard to come by. We were happy to see how reasonably priced our unit was when they could have charged more for a unit like ours. Fahrni Realty also kept their rent affordable when other units like our were renting for much more than we were paying. We were so pleased with our rental, we couldn't imagine ever wanting to move anywhere else. After living here for 5 years, we found out personally just how much they really do care about their tenants because during the Covid 19 epidemic (when we all on lock down), they worked with us to find a way for our family to stay in our rental unit, until we were back on our feet financially. It was so comforting to know our rental home was secure during this time of uncertainty. I did not hear during this time, of too many landlords who were doing what they could to help their tenants. For this reason, I will always be grateful to Fahrni Realty for seeing us as people not just tenants. Also I wanted to recommend Jerome, who was the person who took care of us from the day he showed us the condo to our move out date, ten years later. He was always easy to reach, very friendly to work with, as well as a great mediator between Fahrni Tenants and the property owners. Jerome and the office staff, were always was available to answer any questions or concerns we had during our 10 year stay. If I could give it 0 star that would be great. We saw this house up Wahiawa got an email of property showing and what not. House was so ugly and old and all kinds of messed up. The guy who did the showing was ok at first then in the end when your trying ask questions of the house he barely gave a crap if you know what I mean. Horrible absolutely horrible service and just not who I want as my landlord plus $50 per application get out of here, so you can collect the $$$ while I not get a home. Ya no way buddy NeXt. Not the WORST but damn near close These realtors they have poor management skills and even worst customer service for current tenants. Their NOT military friendly and honestly just rude. Maintenance orders take 2-3 months to get fixed and they make you pay out of pocket for additional cleaning services even though the way you found it was piss poor before, honestly just money hungry. I swear I would never recommend Fahrni Realty have been a horrible experience my whole 4 years in Hawaii and also y'all can't even make your appointments on time if we set a time for 9:00 am don't text me at 8:50 saying your going to be 20 mins late. read more

Extremely professional for these trying times. Had all the precautions you can think of. Hand sanitizer, face mask, 6ft apart, and made sure only a few people were in the unit at the same time. Super friendly and understanding. Great customer service. Would highly recommend! read more

I have never been so mistreated by a company before in my life. The property management only took the owner's side in all issues that came up. I had to follow rules that were not stated in my lease and the property management did nothing about the matter. I've had great recommendations by previous property managers and have never gotten less than the full security deposit returned so I was completely shocked with this treatment, specifically from Jerome Edayan. Half of my security deposit was not returned for minor wear/ tear of the property I rented (Lint from the back of the dryer). My car was threatened to be towed on multiple occasions, I wasn't allowed to grow mint or basil plants (even though my lease stated nothing of the sort), and throughout every issue, the property managers only catered to the owner. I am currently filling a complaint to Regulated Industries Complaints Office- Real Estate Commission. My hope is no one else has to experience this despicable company. I hope to keep my Oahu community safe. read more

If it wasn't for a very limited time to find a place and start work from the mainland - I would have look into other properties - first impression of the property manager (Jerome) - unreliable, does not follow up, and poor management. I literally have to chase him in order to get the application and to move forward with the rental processes. Initial impression is followed with constant unreliability and poor management of the property I was renting. Prop. manager hardly returns my calls or does not provide any follow ups if i had issues with the condo. Company lacks integrity and to bill me $9.00 for one (1) 9V battery for the smoke alarm is one the things they over charged me for. I was very glad to end my lease with this property & glad to have separated from this company. In the end - during my end of lease home inspection - i paid for cleaning carpet (part of lease agreement) and paid for professional cleaning (not on lease). I also me the primary manager of the company, Allen, and first impression was also disappointing - guy didn't even introduce himself - and made the final call on all the charges. Everyone needs to be aware of this company. They are very sneaky with the way they work with tenants. Read your lease carefully, especially the wording, and the fine lines. Be careful when you move out. Take pictures of the place and get it legally checked out because they will blame the smallest nick and pick's they can find on you. They will try and keep as much of the security deposit as they could before you leave. Although your lease states 1 year or so, double check and read! their is a 28 day notice that needs to be given prior to the end of your lease otherwise they will charge you for the extra days, even if your not in the house. Mmmm I called and scheduled to see property and it was nice but then I saw roaches in cabinets. But I continued and turned in my application; the following day, they gave it to someone else. I'm not sure how this goes but if they already were going to accept someone why would they make us turn in a application and pull my credit for no reason. read more

Allen managed our rental for a number of years and through a big renovation doing a great job. Early this year he represented us as our realtor and sold our home. We had some break ins and other challenges and through it all he went above and beyond to take care of everything as we live on the mainland. At times he was out at 10:30 at night tending to our home and provided encouragement when we needed it. Allen earned every penny of his commission. read more

I firmly believe in the importance of a strong tenant/landlord partnership, which begins with trust and integrity as a foundation that must be built by both tenant and landlord equally. My partner and I have always strived to be exemplary tenants. As a non-smoking young professional couple, we have always taken special care of our (rental) home as though it were our own, paid the rent early, and not bothered our landlord for the "small stuff" we could fix ourselves. In turn, I am so grateful to have always nurtured a mutually respectful relationship with every landlord I have worked with (some more than others;) and we have been renters in Hawaii since 2003. In February, the small house I was renting was sold to new owners and Fahrni Realty, Inc. came on board as our new property management company. They made a great first impression on us in writing a letter of introduction and letting us know they are there to serve us in any way possible. At our initial home inspection, Jerome, Fahrni's agent, asked if I had any concerns and I showed him our old, malfunctioning refrigerator. He got right on it in talking to the owners and replaced our fridge soon thereafter. During the course of the inspection, our home also tested positive for termites and had to be fumigated. Fahrni Realty again was there every step of the way, offering to cover the cost of an overnight hotel stay for us or "comping" us for the night away. Since then, we've only had one small electrical issue, and Jerome was quick to send an electrician to take care of this in a timely fashion, as well. All in all, in the seven months we've been renting with Fahrni Realty and working with Jerome, this company has exceeded our expectations in terms of service, reliability, accessibility and friendliness. I like the fact that we've built a professional relationship on mutual trust; they have let us know they're here for us without smothering us with unnecessary surprise visits, inspections or correspondences. On one more note, when I went to pay my rent today at their office, they greeted me with a hug. Susan and Josie, who work in the office were so helpful in setting me up to make my monthly rental payments online. Couldn't get much easier than that!!!
