I've been to Irish Pubs before. I've been to other Fados. This one was only alright. Most times I have darkened the doors of a pub, it was to drink my sorrows away. This visit was a work trip with work people with work programming. So, a long night of sad drinking was not in front of me. What *was* in front of me, however, was a buffet. Coming to Fado for food... okay. And that's what the food was... okay. Granted, it was a buffet. But trays of crudites, hummus, chicken satay, bbq brisket, pretzel bites, stuffed mushrooms, and salmon in mustard sauce didn't have me wanting to dance a jig. Some of the blame needs to stay with the person (people?) who put in the order. But the execution was nothing that excited. Staying on theme, the service (bar and bussing) was pretty lethargic as well. I'm assuming my group had a buyout, as we were the only people in the place. Despite that, getting a drink was interminable. The Irish Coffee was strong and proprietary (don't expect heaps of whipped cream; instead said cream is styled in the shape of the Fado squiggly. This Tennessean gives his three stars for Irish whiskey. YMMV. read more

Went to Atlanta for a trip and went to this bar with my buddy for lunch and drinks. Went on a Saturday. Bar was very quiet. Drinks and food were affordable. Had the hummus with pita and the pita had char marks on it ( on purpose) but this made the pita taste like ash. No Bueno. There were not many patrons at all and it was pretty hard to get service. Guinness cocktails were good. Three stars due to poor service. read more

We arrived around 6:55pm on a Thursday and didn't quite get an order in before happy hour ended. We ordered the harp-bartered chicken tenders for appetizers and it took 30 full minutes for them to come out. I'm not sure why the kitchen was so slow but I saw many tables receive food before we did. Though it took forever for the appetizer to arrive, the tenders were tasty. We ordered the classic cheesy double stack with bacon. It was really good. I just had to add mustard and because our waiter was slow coming back to our table, I had to go to the kitchen to ask for it. After adding mustard I was able to enjoy the burger much better. The fries were great. No complaints about those at all. Also we were in the restaurant until 9:50ish and the waiter never refilled our waters. He was very slow. I had to go find him and ask him to bring water to our table. Overall the food was good but the service wasn't great. read more

I reread my last review. It was incomplete. Not worthy. So as much as I went on about the menu being polished up, I don't think I mentioned how good the food is. It delivers on that polish. My favourite is the salad with blue cheese & sliced pears. I can't recall the name on the menu but there aren't too many salads. Add blackened chicken and you're good to go. The wings are the man's favourite appetizer. We both like the fish and chips but be warned, it's a very large portion. The service is good. Some nights, like any bar, it becomes more difficult to catch your server's attention. Their hours used to drive me bonkers. Does the kitchen still close at 9? I hope not... I forgot to check before starting this update. At least their hours of operation have been extended. The place needs warming up somehow. It's big with high ceilings and the original pieces are impressive. I seem to remember that some are original pieces brought over. The patio is lovely and they're dog friendly. We brought my parent's dog once. She was so yappy I thought there was no way they would let us stay, service dog or not. The server was lovely and patient with the little demon. Thankfully, it was a quiet afternoon. All in all, I gave it 4 stars but wrote an incomprehensible review. My apologies for any confusion that may have caused. I do recommend Fadó. Even if Atlanta United sucks and we don't go much anymore. I do miss that salad though. read more

Had a "Business Meeting" there a few weeks ago. Great bar service, fantastic apps, great wings too!

This is my 2nd time here and I need to write about it. My company has hosted private events here and they don't miss! Last Christmas we had a happy hour and this summer we had a smaller one but still open bar, small bites and amazing service. Fado's has a wide selection of Irish brews but the bar is fully stocked with everything. This last visit I opted for a Strawberry Smash. I asked the bartender if he could make me a Whiskey Smash with fresh fruit. He said how about strawberry? Bingo! That's become my go to drink and it was amazing. He garnished it with a sprig of mint and a slice lemon. The food options included a hummus tray with veggies and flat bread, curried deviled eggs, honey BBQ wings, beef sliders, smoked salmon bites, fried onion rings, pretzel bites and brownies for dessert. The deviled eggs and salmon bites are not to be missed! The sliders, wings and hummus came in next as my faves. Overall, FADO's has a great atmosphere, menu selection and top tier service. They're accommodating and charming enough for a date night or evening with a group of friends. I will be back soon! read more

The huge, immaculate space is what I appreciate the most about this beautiful pub. It oozes a traditional atmosphere and I noted the centerpiece bar has a shape that affords privacy if you want that (rare at a bar, but they have spaces artfully sectioned off). Don't worry if, unlike me, you're an extrovert because there's plenty of open space at the bar, too. We had the nicest server. While we were there at one of those in between lunch and dinner hours, she was as attentive as could be, without being overbearing. I stuck to one glass of bubbles and my husband appreciated the large selection of tap beer and bar fare. Not much to choose from if you're plant-based, but I wasn't here to eat. It was a little slow getting somebody to come to the table and had to ask for it to be wiped, but it was nearing the end of happy hour, so I'm sure they were just pretty busy. By the time we ordered, it was technically a few minutes past, but they still honored happy hour pricing. Everything was delicious, served quickly by a friendly young lady. I had the cabbage rolls which were even better than I expected and my husband had the fish tacos (that I sampled) and they were also wonderful. My son had the shepherd's pie that he gobbled up as if he were starving, but he did verbally say it was great. He didn't eat the salad, but I ate some and it was very fresh. We came here on St Paddy's day this year to start the day off right with an irish breakfast and some drinks. The service was the low point. She got our drinks out quick (a pint of Guinness to start the day) But then took forever to come get our food order. And we were starving! But the food got there. We got a full irish breakfast with eggs over easy. It was a great meal! I enjoyed every part of it! It was a busy day, so I hate to beat on the service too bad. But the food and drinks were great. Food was amazing. My family and I just split some of the appetizers. The fried goat cheese was my favorite !! The jalapeño honey is perfect with it. We sat outside since it was a beautiful day. Ambiance inside is best as the patio is a little small, but didn't mind. Patio is dog friendly and they even had a doggy menu. So when I came in and received water, there was black floaties in it which I could only assume was some type of mold. Not good. Also the soup, the cheddar ale, tasted sour and from my experience, sourness in any type of soup means spoiled and fermented when it isnt supposed to be, which also means it was infested with bacteria and shouldn't of been served. read more

This review isn't so much about the restaurant, but their parking lot, which is an absolute scam. When I arrived I paid for parking using the QR code posted at the lot. As I was paying my Fado tab I received a text that my parking was expiring. Although I re-upped another hour just to be cautious, the boot had already been installed, along with approximately one third of the cars in the lot. Apparently the parking expiration text goes out to the boot company as well. So on top of my restaurant tab I paid $27 to park and another $75 for boot removal. Now I don't know if Fado owns their parking lot or not, so this may not be fair to them. What I do know is that regardless of how good a business is, if you get scammed by the parking, people will not come back. Im sure I never will. read more

The service is pretty bad. Snotty attitudes all around. Came in with a large group, some at the bar some had a table. Understandable that service would be a bit slower, so we chose to go up to the bar. Bartender saw we walked over from the half of the group that was seated at a table and turned us away saying "you have a server" after us waiting 10 minutes for her to even acknowledge our presence. In a different circumstance, yes I would understand it being tacky to leave your table to go to the bar but we had just arrived and were only saying hi to that half of our group that was seated. Nonetheless, we brushed it off and returned to the seated portion of our group and stood beside them waiting for the server to make her way around to us. She was blonde and snarky too, just said "what's up" with a less than smiling attitude. We still smiled, politely gave her our order and she turned around to fetch our drinks. The next time she came around she was double checking if anyone needed anything and when I hesitated looking to my boyfriend to see if he needed anything she gave a nasty "hurry the f*ck up" gesture to which we said "oh never mind we're good". She gave a stank face, rolled her eyes and walked away. Being flustered with a large group is understandable but we are bartenders/servers elsewhere and cannot possibly understand how you expect to make any money with such a shit attitude. 0/10 would never return read more

Very cute, old timey irish pub located in the heart of Buckhead. Came here on a Friday night and parking was surprisingly easy. There is a parking lot right outside of the pub, however you do have to pay. Upon walking in, we were seated with no wait since there was no big game that day. However, the pub did have live music playing that night which was fun! As for food, Fadó serves pretty typical bar food that would make a decent game day snack. read more

Fado's is a nice open-concept Irish bar. Our bartender, Alexa, informed us there was a recent renovation, which certainly modernized the pub. My girlfriend and I visited on a Monday night and she frequents here regularly. I got the impression it's either completely empty as it was on this particular Monday or completely crowded with a line out the door (specifically on game days). There are multiple TVs to watch the games and 2 levels to choose from. We both had an Irish coffee, very strong and flavorful. I would have preferred more creamer vs. foam. The fish and chips were tasty and came with a side of coleslaw. Perfectly crisp, golden fries and quality fish. The service was great considering we were one of few at the bar. Omg, the pretzels are huge!!!!!! Bar is fully stocked: from a tequila sunrise to Long Island, a traditional jack and coke to vodka sprite. This pub has all the right ingredients, staff, and safety in place with Covid. Live music some nights, with a small dance floor; and again, that pretzel! I don't have a picture because I was too involved with it, but order it if you dine-in (perfect for 2-3 people). Dress: Casual- the atmosphere is dimmed lighting, and the crowd is inviting. Gypse Kitchen is two blocks away as well, so you can skip over there too for a "Fifty Shades of Purple" as well! read more

Four patrons asked for the game to be moved to the larger TV (Florida & Kentucky two unranked teams) and the manager (the only FL fan in the building) declined stating Fado is a "Florida bar." Seeing as how we are in the state of Georgia and several people wanted to see the other game I felt this was poor business strategy. We moved to another section of the pub that was playing the game and got to the second quarter without getting service... most likely because nobody wanted to watch the Florida game, so everybody was at the other side of the bar. This overwhelmed the one server. We ended up leaving early and going elsewhere. Maybe they can get a Georgia booster to sponsor the bar instead of FL! read more

It is an Irish Pub, but a better than the normal one so I give it four stars. It makes me cringe a little because other places I give four stars are on such a higher level of the atmosphere, food, and drinks, but for an Irish Pub, this is my favorite. It also has enough "normal" food on the menu that my nieces had choices for lunch. Many of the places around here are too specific cuisines for my nieces, and they couldn't find options they would try. It is also a perfect place to watch sports, Atlanta... United!, and hang out with your friends. Don't expect fast service as it is Irish. They make a decent old fashioned even though they don't use the correct cherry. All the food I have had here is good. It is maybe one of my favorite black bean burgers since Vortex doesn't have theirs anymore. The chicken quesadilla and Reuben made my friends happily full one time when I visited while another time, the quesadilla and burger made my nieces happy, and a salad made my sister happy. read more

I came here for lunch on Thursday afternoon at noon. It was pretty empty as they had just opened, so it's great if you have a large party. Service was pretty quick with the group we had. I ordered the Lunch Fish and Chips (supposed to be $14.95) and it was pretty tasty. The fish was kinda oily, but pretty on par with average oiliness. Not excessive, but wish it was less. Fish was nice and flakey! Fries were good as well and nicely seasoned. When I got my bill, the total before tip was around $20 which I was shocked about? After tip it was $25. When I looked at the lunch menu earlier it said $14.95 and I even checked online to write this review. Maybe I was just charged the dinner price at noon? I was with my co-workers and needed to get back to the office so I didn't cause a fuss, but pretty disappointed in that. If you charge for a dinner portion, it would be nice to get that dinner portion. Mishap, yes? But, I would like to give the benefit they would have changed it if I brought it up. Came here for St. Patrick's Day, and it feels mostly normal. The big issue is for some reason they've decided that they can't serve you a beer and a glass. Despite the fact that most every other place simply washes their glassware. A $10 beer out of a plastic cup, just doesn't taste the same. I won't be going back until they start glassware again. I don't know why they think that a dishwasher won't kill Covid. Every other restaurant that I go to gives me we glassware, real silverware and real plates. read more

I love the food at Fado's, especially the chicken tenders. Basic AF but please leave if you can't appreciate a good piece of fried. I love the beer batter and the generous serving they give you as a "snack." Because of the pandemic, they serve a limited menu, which sucks because the wedges with cheese dip are fcuking fire. BRING THEM BACK! I need them! My friends and I shared both their house salad and the pear and blue cheese salad. The dressings for both are really good, and although i wouldn't ever drink it, Id sure as hell drown my salad in them. The reason for the low stars is because of their COVID practices. Our server kept bringing down her mask to her chin to speak to her tables. Which is I suppose fine if you want to get infected. But I would've appreciated it if she had kept hers on while speaking to us. We watched as she got within six inches of another patron to have a lengthy conversation, and it made us uneasy everytime she interacted with us. First a 10 to 15 minute wait for server (we had to search for one), shorter wait for server with menus , another long wait for drinks including water, super long wait for the food which was bland and chicken quesadillas were full of gristle, chicken wings were cold like they had been frozen and not thoroughly reheated. Let me mention that we were a family of 4 adults and 3 children under 2 eating at 5 pm so the long waits with no service made dining difficult. One last mention the cocktails were nasty. If pubs are your thing then you need to visit Fadó Irish Pub in Buckhead. They currently have new business hours, but the customer service remains excellent. Upon arrival I found plenty of on street parking near the restaurant, and with a short walk I was at the entrance. I was warmly greeted, my afternoon reservation was found, and I then chose great outdoor dining on their covered patio. I chose high top bar seating. From this view you'll see passersby walking dogs, shoppers heading in, and out of nearby department stores, singles, and couples sitting on area benches, and socializing. Many people can be found out, and about, and enjoying a beautiful summer afternoon. The atmosphere is full of moving good energy. For my entree I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, and thick cut fries. This grilled all-beef patty, American cheddar, Applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion topped burger is worth the visit to Fadó!
