yeah, it's a dive bar, smoky, cheap, and dark. but the bartenders are nice, the drinks are cheap, and the ambiance is chill! Love coming here after work with the work fam and shooting some darts and relaxing :D It's kinda one of those places you just go to because of the novelty or memories you've had! Katie is da bomb dot com, treat her nice!! I haven't been here at night or on weekends so I'm sure it's much different then. but if you're just looking to chill and grab a drink after work in a low key place then stop by here one of these days. They claim it's a 21 plus bar but there were girls as young as 14 in there. it's disgusting how the bouncers are hitting on these girls, letting them in and obviously over serving them drinks. I also got groped multiple times by literal 16 year old boys trying to start a fight. I told the bouncers and bartenders and they did not care and didn't kick them out of the bar. I hope the owner of the bar sees this because I took multiple pictures, sent them to the police in a report and called ABC :) I hope with every fiber of my being that this place gets shut down and the bouncers get in trouble for hitting on and serving alcohol to actual children and freshman in high school. Racist place! Went there to celebrate a friends birthday, and dealt with the worst treatment. Just to preface, we were a group of brown girls. We were each asked to pay 20 dollars for an entrance fee but we saw the other people in line (who were white) not having to pay anything. The bouncers who were giving us this treatment were also white. Saw the same treatment done to other people of color. When I asked about it, we were forcefully told to leave. Got a video of it. PHONES STOLEN EVERY NIGHT!!! I was warned about the pickpocket problem before coming here because as you can tell from the previous reviews its an issue the bar staff has failed to do anything about. I rarely come here because its disgusting but unfortunately my friends, along with the majority of GSU students love this place, so I was dragged here. My friends and I had no issues at any of the other bars in the area but within 15 minutes of entering this bar my phone was taken out of my purse. This is apparently an ongoing issue that happens every weekend. One night in June they caught a guy with a backpack full of 30+ phones. We stopped at this bar towards the end of the night on a Friday ( two young women celebrating a birthday). As soon as we stepped in they informed us they were closing. We politely asked to use their bathroom, only to be told to f*k off and other inappropriate abuse was shouted at us. The staff was incredibly rude and hateful for no reason. Not the Churchill Arms Pub of Old I guess it was the late 90s or early 00s when I went here last. It was a classic and perfect British style pub. Dark oak beams, dart boards, a lot of British art on the walls a piano and a fireplace. I enjoyed going here especially around Christmas time as the folks that went to this pub would actually on occasion sing Christmas songs around the fire while someone played the piano. Used to be a nice pub to shoot darts, have a good draught of Guinness and hang out with some Brits. Now it's a crummy college dive bar (like Atlanta needs another one of these) with a reputation for getting pick pocketed. Don't waste your time. Not at all a British pub anymore. read more

I flew down to Atlanta on New Years Eve with my boyfriend to spend it with friends. The day of, we decided to purchase tickets to Chruchill's open bar new years celebration. For $40 we were promised an open bar from 8 PM to 3 AM full of draft beers and mixed drinks, topped with a champagne toast at midnight. If you purchased tickets early enough you could snag them for only $15! We arrived to the bar around 10 PM, just beating the real rush. The place didn't get overly crowded and they did a great job at crowd control. I did not witness a single fight or anyone overly drunk. The place was pretty smokey, which I wasn't a fan of. There are two floors to the bar, and the downstairs bathrooms were significantly less crowded. There are a few pool tables and darts on the first floor along with a bunch of tables, the bar and a cigarette machine. The place was a bit run down, and didn't have a "British Pub" feel at all. I would classify it more as a dive bar. Drinks were easy to come by, especially after tipping the bartender each time. The biggest issue I had with the night was the lack of celebration at midnight, there was no huge count down or streamers or even champagne. Supposedly this was one of their first years hosting a NYE party, so I'm sure things got crazy- but come on, the whole point on NYE is when the clock strikes 12! All in all a cool place to ring in the new year, not sure I would come back for a casual drink. read more

I've been here multiple times and never had the best experience, but it typically ends up fine.. Usually it's just full of underage kids drinking.. This time, however, on Saturday night my phone got stolen from my purse which was on my BODY. I hadn't even been in the bar 15 minutes. Funny enough, my phone wasn't the only one that got stolen.. There were at least 10 girls in my vicinity that had the same occur to them all. We then rushed to the courtesy officer whom said he "couldn't" do anything. Now, I understand if I left my phone unattended at a table and it got stolen that way, then of course there's nothing he could do. Shame on me for leaving my phone out.. BUT, to have multiple people come up to you saying their phone got snatched from a purse on their body and NOT doing anything, that's lax and irresponsible. For each phone being worth ~$1000, that makes the theft at least $10,000. I am not going here again and since Churchill's has relaxed enforcement and probably no cameras at all in the bar, you can expect those professional thieves to come back. This is a great little spot (dive bar) in Buckhead to grab some beverages while playing pool and/or darts. FYI: Churchills is located right across the street from East Andrews. It's very casual and good for big groups. We were a large group and we were able to get a pool table and dart board with no problem. Usually that's a very difficult task in most bars anywhere in Atlanta! The music was really good which consisted of a mix of 90s and today (not gonna lie, everyone in the group sang along with the 90s music). It was a lot of fun! I definitely recommend it if you're looking for casual hangout type place. WARNING: They do allow smoking indoors! read more

Apparently this establishment still has a problem with theft. Do not give the bartender your debit card for payment. Several of us gave bartenders debit cards and by the end of the night all of us had several hundred dollars worth of charges on them- chevrons, lyft rides, etc. Besides the theft of wallets and cell phones, they have also perfected the art of debit/credit card fraud. Not very impressed. Service was horrible, we had a party of 8. All the food was served at the same time with the exception of one in our party, her meal came as everyone else was finishing theirs. My friend always comes from out of town once a year and we go to dinner and a mini bar crawl so we were here fairly early, like 9pm. The place was dirty, at one point there WAS A ROACH CRAWLING ON THE BAR and my friend had to shooo it away. There was a man sleep at the bar and the bartenders were no where to be found. My friend had to go on the other side were they were all the bartenders were gossiping and/or playing on their phones to close out of tab. I could go on and on about this place like how our bartender but our shots of a pile of cigarette ashes but we were drinking car bombs so ashes almost got in our drinks. Ick. Went here because Supply & Demand was overcrowded. Stayed for approximately 45 minutes, and boy was there a lot of frat/sorority/underage types there. Even worse, bartenders don't have a shred of professionalism as they are drinking in the job. I guess either I expect more from a dive, or either it just wasn't the type of crowd for me. Now before you accuse me of not liking dives, I frequent the Local on Ponce quite a bit since their wings are out of this world and the people there are a lot more mature. But if you want my .02, go to any other bar along the strip like Supply & Demand, or just go across Lenox and visit the Bucket Shop, they open real late. read more

I had my phone, ID, debit card, and cash stolen out of my purse that was on my body. Someone knocked into me and pushed everything out of my purse and it all fell and when I thought they were "helping" me clean it up, they ran off with my things. When I contacted the bar via FB message and calling to see if by any chance it had been found in the bar, they read the message and chose to ignore it and haven't returned any calls. The lack of customer service or care for what goes on in this bar is beyond me. Even the staff members said this has happened to at least one person every weekend. I would never recommend going to this bar. Their number one concern is getting as many people crammed in there as they can. And because of it, people are stealing things from their customers and very easily getting away with it. I will never be a patron to this establishment again. The only helpful part was the bartender who tried to help me find it during the night. read more

This is my Buckhead staple. I absolutely love this bar. While it can get a little Frat-tastic on the weekends, it is a really chill place. Pool tables, great areas for darts and jukebox. The bartenders are always really nice and just really cool all around. They have a big outdoor area for nice weather and you can smoke inside, which is harder and harder to find in the ATL. No food, but if you're smart, you would hit Waffle House on the way home. read more

While it can be annoying to get a drink sometimes because it gets so crowded at the bar, it's okay because you will run into at least 5 people you know while you wait to be helped. Plus, there are usually the cash-only beer stations set-up if you need a quicker fix. And you can bank on a line for the ladies room, but at least it is semi-clean and has a huge mirror. read more

A straight-up dive bar. It's smokey, it's dirty, there's a pool table, and some in the crowd look like they maybe shouldn't be drinking. But, there are bar-flys a-plenty, as well. Late at night it seems some who struck out at other bars make their final appearances here. The location supports using Churchill's as a stop on a bar-hopping adventure, as it is right in the middle of the East Andrews area. When you're looking for a laid-back, regular bar, or you want an unpretentious moment while bar-hopping East Andrews, Churchill's is a natural answer. This place is like a glorified frat house. If you are in a frat/sorority, own Chaco's, have cargo shorts that stop above the knee, or talk like a valley girl, this place was made for you. We came here to find out about a supposed secret room, but the door was locked (anticlimactic). We played pool with a guy who looked like he just came from a golf course, and his friend casually wagered $100 on the next game. The bartender wasn't exactly rude but he was very unfriendly. I also tried using the Yelp $5 Happy Meal deal but was told they wouldn't take it. Overall, if you normally hang out around frat houses, you'll probably have a good time here. To be honest, you kind of know what you're getting before going in there. The place has a really cool feel to it, definitely divey. The bartender was extremely nice, and helpful, even gave us free jello shots! If you go, I'd tend to stay on the bar side. The inside smells like downtown Athens at 3am on a Saturday morning, but with Strongbow on tap and a surprisingly spacious patio, you'll soon forget the smell of urine, vomit and stale beer inside. We came to Churchill's most recently when trying to escape the way too loud music at an event on a weeknight at East Andrews Upstairs across the street. To our initial disappointment, no sooner had we snagged a table on the patio at Churchill's than a lone guitarist cranked up his amp and began serenading us. To our surprise, he was pretty good! Not a bad musician, and kept an easy going conversation with his audience of three. I'd probably stay away from Churchill's (and all of the Buckhead bar scene) on the weekends, but for a weeknight patio drinking spot, it's pretty good. read more

Went here Saturday night on a recommendation from a friend. It's a great bar. They have freakin foosball! Love me some foosball. Also have pool, darts, and plenty of TVs to keep up with the Braves or whatever other team is in season. The girls here were looking exceptionally attractive and were enough to offset the frat-tastic douchery of most of the guys. I went to college at UGA so maybe I'm just more used to it than a lot of people... I see on here people complain about the crowds but that wasn't the case at all for me on Saturday. It got a little crowded after midnight, but not too bad. Still had enough room to walk around. The bartenders were FAST. I never had to stand at the bar more than 30 seconds to order a drink. Draft beer was 5 freaking dollars though so I stuck to bottles ($3.50...still not great in my book but acceptable when I have a few drinks in me and a credit card to make bad decisions with). The only bad thing was we had to pay to park. 7 bucks, but I saw lots that were charging $4 too. There are also lots of other bars within walking distance. We checked out a few but all were a little too crowded for my tastes. I'll be back here, hopeful that I didn't just catch Churchill's on an off night and get ambushed by a huge crowd...which was probably the case looking at everyone else's reviews. read more

Is it the size of the boat? Or the motion of the Ocean? Either way I was left uncomfortable Friday night... Churchill Arms is a long bar... but narrow all the same. You walk around on a busy Friday feeling like things could be just a little bit bigger and you'd be a much happier man. I felt like all of Atlanta was crammed inside placing movement and space at a premium. The drinks are decently priced and they had a beer tub girl near the door to get quick drinks so one doesn't have to attempt to conquer the sea of people near the main bar. This place is fun when it's not packed though... they have pool tables, darts, and I'm pretty sure I saw video golf. This is straight up poppedcollarville! With Buckhead all up in your personal you can't help but look at these people crammed into this small raft and wonder if their mothers really know what they're doing. I swear the legal drinking age around here must be 18 yrs. I haven't felt this old in a minute! We were fortunate enough to be welcomed downstairs and saved from the inebriated crowd. The War Room as they call it is for private parties and we were able to relax and have an actual conversation. This space is a quarter the size of the bar upstairs, and it was so great to be in a room with only 7 other people. I found heaven in the heart of Buckhead! I like Churchills on a Monday or Tuesday for drinks with friends. I think I'm officially old making these College bars something of the past. If it's a drunken time you're looking for with cheap drinks and an evening of running into everyone you went to high school with then this is the place for you! read more

This is as Buckhead as a bar gets, so if Tory Burch and Polo shirts aren't your style I wouldn't come here. That said, it can get really crowded on the weekends and the crowd is easily 50% underaged-- especially during college holidays. The drinks are cheap drink and there's a nice outdoor space. Overall it's a fun spot but don't wear something that a 20 year old can't spill their drink all over. The private club downstairs is older and quieter but you have to know a member. read more

I always have a great time when I'm at Churchills! The bar tenders are great and always super fast with your drinks and are quick with a joke (or to light up your smoke...jk)! It gets quite crowded the later you get there, so I prefer to spend some of the earlier hours of my night there and then move on. This pub is a little "hole in the wall", as you might say, but it comes well equipped. They've got pool tables, foosball, darts and uniquely enough, chess! The beer selection is great and the atmosphere very reminiscent of my pub experience in Ireland. Give it a try! read more
