Friendly service and amazing vegan food! I'm not vegan but thoroughly enjoyed the burger. The shake was sooo creamy and good as well considering it had no dairy. Plenty of seating. Easy drive thru option as well.

Her personality actually sparked a conversation between us, and as someone who is very big on customer service, that meant a lot to me. The person at the front counter is often the first person you interact with, and they can set the tone for the entire experience. **Jayden did exactly that.** Her smile brightened the room, she made me feel welcome, and she genuinely added to my experience. **Jayden deserves a raise.** Now, on to the food. I want to put everything in the proper context: **Face Plant is a vegan fast-food/drive-thru spot.** I wasn't walking in expecting a gourmet meal. With that in mind, I was impressed with the food overall. I ordered the **Famous Burger with cheese and no tomato.** It came with lettuce, pickles, onions, cheese, and sauce. The patty was thin, but it was tasty and well-seasoned. The closest comparison I can make is a single Wendy's-style patty in terms of size and texture, except I thought this one was seasoned better than the Wendy's burgers I remember eating. The cheese was nicely melted, the presentation was good, and it didn't look like somebody just threw everything together. **Burger: 7.39/10** I also had to try the **nuggets** because I saw them highlighted online. They were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, and I enjoyed them. I've eaten a LOT of vegan nuggets over the years, though, and vegan nuggets are one of those foods that companies have gotten pretty good at replicating. That's where my biggest criticism comes in: **the price.** If I remember correctly, five nuggets were around $9.99 or $10.99. While they tasted good, I didn't find them significantly different from some of the quality frozen vegan nuggets I've bought from the store and thrown into an air fryer. I'm already someone who expects to pay a little more at a vegan restaurant, so I'm not expecting bargain prices. But around $10 for five nuggets is just too much for me. **Nuggets: 7.02/10** Finally, I had the **cookies & cream milkshake.** It was good, but at **$7.50**, I thought it was slightly overpriced as well. Something around $6.50 would have felt reasonable to me, and even $6.99 wouldn't have bothered me much. $7.50 started pushing it. The shake was also **THICK** -- basically ice-cream thick. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but with cookies & cream, you also have cookie pieces competing with an already thick consistency. Even though the straw was wider than a normal straw, I think an even wider straw would work better because the cookie pieces can block the airflow. I eventually let mine melt a little, which helped. **Cookies & Cream Shake: 6.97/10** My other critique would be the interior. The overall **Face Plant branding is cool**, but the restaurant itself still feels pretty bare, especially around the windows. Even some promotional graphics showing the food or reinforcing the Face Plant branding would give the space more personality. That said, from what I understand, this location is still fairly new, and honestly, there was something cool about that too. It almost felt like I was experiencing a business while it's still being built from the ground up. Overall, **Face Plant gave me a very good experience.** The burger especially was refreshing after recently having a disappointing veggie burger elsewhere in the Northwest. The food was good, the prices on a couple of items could use some work, and the restaurant itself still has room to develop its atmosphere. But what I'll remember most is the customer service. **Jayden set the tone for the entire experience.** Great food can bring somebody through the door, but great customer service can make them actually want to come back. And once again... **Give Jayden a raise. **
I love Face Plant!! I am trying to stop eating all meat, I haven't ate poultry products for over a decade, and Face Plant satisfies the craving for a burger and shake cruelty free and it's absolutely delicious!! Vegan burgers are usually higher protein than animal protein to so it helps me reach my daily protein goal. The service here is great and they have don't a wonderful job with the branding and the ambience inside is classic american "burger" joint! Thanks for the healthy, delicious, cruelty free food! I've heard of Face Plant from a couple of my vegetarian friends, so I was looking forward to try it. I went on a Friday afternoon thinking that this place would be packed, I was surprised to find an empty. Is located in a very isolated part of Portland so there's not much to do nearby. I love that their menu is so simple; it includes Burgers, fries, shakes, which you may see at a Shake Shack or In-and-Out. The interior has an old diner vibe and was very clean. I also think their logo is very cute. Service was very fast, since I was only customer. I got the double fancy, fries, and the strawberry shake (which was recommended to me). The food is actually pretty good. The burger leans towards the salty side. The vegetables on it were not able to cut the salt or fat for me so I had to drink water after every few bites. However I really like the texture and the flavor of the patty. The fries were my favorite part. They're crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, though still again on the saltier side. Milkshake was very sweet, which I guess is expected. It has that classic artificial strawberry flavor, which I like every once in a while. The portions were more than enough for one person. I probably would have shared the milkshake with someone else. I haven't had many vegan burgers in the past so this will probably be my standard that I have going forward!
I'm so sad I don't live in Portland because I would go here all the time! Wow. The burgers, fries, and shakes were delicious. And the biggest star of the show was the sauce that came with the nuggets. I would buy bottles of that stuff! Amazing. I'll be back next time I'm in Portland for sure!
It is a sandwich, not a hamburger. I did enough it. Fries and ketchup are both really good. Coke stuff is the same. I want to try the shake next time here. The staff was nice and with a friendly greeting when we came in. A little wedding and leaf blowing outside would make it look a lot better. Hope it does good and stays here.
So so so yummy. Loved the nuggets and sauce they provided. They were super quick and had seasonal milkshakes. I got the cookies and cream 100% need to try. Everything is vegan/plant based. They even have a drive-thru option!
I'm not a big In n Out fan but I'm quite familiar with the place. I'm also not vegan but I really enjoy vegan foods. I really enjoyed this place and thought it accomplished what it sets out to be. I had the fancy burger, fries and an order of the nuggets. The burger was really good, with an excellent set of fresh ingredients. The bun, lettuce, and tomato were all great- the thin burger patty got a little lost in the rest but the vegan cheese was amazing. Id recommend going for a double fancy burger to really get the burger flavor. The fries were fantastic and beat In n Out by a mile. The nuggets were nice and crispy, and very light in texture. Not the best vegan chicken I've tried. I'd stay with the burger. The staff was super friendly and welcoming and they nailed the aesthetic. All in it was a great experience.
I can't get over how good Face Plant was!! The burger was incredible and you would absolutely never know it was vegan. I almost prefer it to many of the animal meat burgers I've had. The fries are also incredible as are their nuggets. I highly recommend trying it, despite the location being a tad out of the way. The place is super clean and parking is abundant. Service was great and I can't wait to come back!
I love coming to this place, I wouldn't consider myself a vegan but I will say my stomach has been extremely sensitive to many things. Everytime I come here I'm usually getting a fancy, or the nugs and a milk shake. My stomach always feels nice and full and satisfying. Writing this out it probably seems like nothing to everyone but when eating usually can become a unpleasant time having something I can quickly grab and it not upset my stomach is such a relief and rare for it to have a drive thru too. Everytime I come here I enjoy my conversation with the staff, I find myself becoming more recluse as I get older and it's nice to have those human interactions every now and then and I've always enjoyed my conversations with people here. I love the inside, I've only eaten once but it does feel like vintage in and out and as a Bay Area local I love that. I love it more cause it's vegan! This has become a staple in showing my friends and family when they visit.
In an area I'd never pass through otherwise, but it looks like people will travel for this place. Was busy and full of happy eaters - for real, one customer shared her love of the place with the staff before leaving. The burger was good. Fries were great. Shake was amazing. Would like to try the chicken sannich. I'm not vegan but love vegan food, and this was all tasty.
Wow--this far exceeded my expectations! I haven't stepped into a McDonald's in over 15 years, but I doubt you'd find the same passion and genuine service you get at Face Plant. We visited on a very busy Friday night, and while the food took a bit longer than traditional fast food, it was absolutely worth the wait. The menu is limited, but between the four of us we managed to try just about everything--including the milkshake, which I had blended with chocolate and strawberry. It was fantastic! Highly recommend if you're looking for something fast but with real heart and flavor.

I came here with my friend today. She is vegan, I am not. I am willing to try things though. I got the fancy burger, some french fries, and a pop. She got the fancy burger in a lettuce wrap. 6 nuggets with dips and then a chocolate shake. I thought the lettuce tomato and onion were super fresh and plentiful. The bun was really nice and soft. I liked the sauce. . The actual burger was OK. I tried one of her nuggets. It was pretty good with the dip. The shake was really good. There was plenty of parking. The service was fast and they were so nice. Plenty of seating. My friend said this is kind of like an In-N-Out for vegans. I can see that. Check it out. read more

They raised their prices and it's insane. Over $40 for a burger, fries and shake for two people? And with gas prices what they are? Nope. They originally prided themselves on lower prices and now it's a huge nope. We did love going to this place but now it's just not worth it. read more

Paid Face Plant a visit after hearing many good things from friends. I'll preface by saying I'm not vegan or vegetarian but was down to give the concept a try. It's in a bit of an odd part of town which I was surprised by but it's a lovely little corner they have. We wound up going in to order vs doing a drive through but it looks as though they could accommodate a large amount of volume. The inside atmosphere is simple but clean with nice branding. Feels classic and timeless. Food wise went with the standard combo meal with a strawberry shake and a small side of nuggies. The burger as someone who typically eats meat was definitely the closest vegan equivalent I have had. Even the cheese which I usually avoid was pretty solid. It was hearty and tasty. The fries were also good and the shake was a big time standout. Not sure what vegan equivalent they use but the shake was rich and thiccc. Couldn't have told you it was vegan. Service was solid and they brought the food to our table which was nice. I can imagine that with a large group or a busy time it could get backed up a bit, but we found it alright. There's ample parking in the parking lot for guests looking to dine in. read more
Heard good things, so we made our way to Swan Island on Sunday, when we knew the roads would be empty of trucks. First impressions: Pretty good approximation of a real burger -- for sure, it's more bun than burger -- but there's a good texture and flavor, and a decent similarity to meat. Our 'Fancy' burger (lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, special sauce) had a pretty thin patty though, and it was fairly salty, which overpowered the special sauce even. But it was still enjoyable, with nice drippy sauce and a solid bun. The Nuggets though, were a unanimous hit with my peeps, posting up with a nice outer crunch and good inner texture (though way more forgiving than actual chicken, and kinda potato-y), and nicely seasoned. Good dipping sauce too. We went inside just to check it out and we didn't stay ; Interior is interesting but only for the primary color scheme, not for any wow factor. I mean, it's a repurposed old Mickey D's, deconstructed to look like a cold empty warehouse with concrete floors, a lot of white paint and horrible lighting. High fives to the counter folks and cooks though, who were awesomely friendly. An interesting concept, with good execution on the service side. read more
What can I say about the best vegan fast food I've ever had in my life? Let's see... I've been vegan for over 13 years. In those years, I've had impossible burgers, beyond burgers, boca patties, bean patties, quinoa burgers (ew), you name it. I've dealt with fairly good vegan burgers at places like Burgerville but walk away feeling pretty bummed due to extremely high costs for fast food. Enter: Face Plant. My husband and I tried this when it first opened and actually gasped out loud when we took our first bites. My husband is a carnivore but believe Face Plant has the best hamburgers in town! You heard that right, folks!! I am not sure if they make their patties in-house or what but they are DELICIOUS. Did I mention they are $5???????? You can get one for cheaper with less fixings as well. I'm just stunned. This is what I'm talking about! I'm a California girl so it's reminiscent of In N' Out options and prices. THANK YOU! You can get a combo Fancy burger with fries and a soda for $11. This is what I'm talking about people. At Burgerville, they charge $13 for the stupid hamburger. Not to mention, their fries are like $5. Bye. Never again. The price is RIGHT at Face Plant and the food is to die for. For months, my husband and I got Face Plant every friday night as a treat, it's that good. Also, their plant-based chicken nuggets are incredible. My one wish is that they had Dr. Pepper zero (or diet), but I am being extremely picky. Lastly, the service is incredible. Always, ALWAYS friendly, which is a breath of fresh air considering how atrocious the service is everywhere these days. It's also super fun to dine inside because they remodeled an old-fashioned McDonalds and it's super cute. I'll wrap this up by saying vegans and omnivores alike, please come by Face Plant. I love Face Plant! Delicious plant based fast food at a great price with nice staff and quick service. Their "chicken" nuggets are the best plant based nuggets I've had, and the dipping sauce that comes with it is so good! Burgers, fries, and shakes are also very delicious. I'm team strawberry shake but want to try the cold brew next time as that seems to be a fan favorite. Come check this place out (even if you're not vegan like me), you won't be disappointed! read more
can't go wrong with some fast food! this was my first time trying vegan fast food and it was delicious. i love how crumbly the chicken nuggets were. they break off as soon as you bite them and i really loved that. it was truly a solid and crispy nugget. the fries were also good (can't go wrong with them). i also got the special cookies and cream milk shake before i left and it was amazingggg. totally recommend trying this place! read more

Beautiful location with awesome sunset view. Lots of parking !!!! I had the double cheeseburger, the fries, and the seasonal cookies and cream milkshake. The burger and fries were good the same way all burgers and fries are good. I eat a lot of veggie burgers and they all taste pretty similar to me, which is probably the fault of my simpleton palate and not meant to be a judgment towards any establishment. The milkshake, however, was absolutely one of a kind. Upon taking the first sip, I turned to my best friend and told her that it tastes like 1 million oreos. It tasted the way oreos and ice cream and milkshakes tasted when I was a kid. It's incredible. I wish I was drinking it now, and I don't even that big of a sweet tooth. This is the cutest little veg spot. It's so refreshing to get fast food that doesn't make you feel gross after - everything is made with fresh ingredients and not soaked in oil and the employees are always so helpful and kind and knowable about allergens and whatnot. They have a fun coloring station setup too and we got carried away coloring long after our food was gone and one of the employees offered us a free milkshake. They're the sweetest. Face Plant is truly one of the best fast food places. At Face Plant you get the fast food experience but everything is plant-based. The menu items are affordable, simple and super tasty. Their burgers are immaculate and their shakes are rich, thick and creamy. Additionally, service is always solid everytime I go and the owner is super friendly! read more

Delicious vegan food! I love that this spot is fully vegan & has all the fast food staples. It has a true fast food vibe with a drive thru on the outside & a counter order set up with plenty of tables inside to dine in. The burger patty is delicious with cheese! Had great taste & texture. I'd absolutely have their burgers again! The chocolate shake was decent - not the best in my opinion. It took awhile to get my milkshake as it arrived after my food. It had decent flavor but it wasn't blended that well - it had little pieces of ice in it. read more
A vegetarian fast food place always interests me! I was a hard core vegetarian for 15+ years. This place is near an industrial cut that you might never pass. Driving up, it looks like a classic fast food building. They had one person taking orders in the lane, Noel - she was very friendly. Unfortunately, after ordering it took nearly 15 minutes to get to the window, maybe cars before had big orders. The staff at the window were friendly and had our food ready. Hopefully, they will get speedier with time. We ordered the fancy burger combo and a five piece nuggets. The burger looks well put together. It is packed with lettuce/toppings and a little saucy! I regret removing the paper half way, covered in drips. Fries were tasty, but some were not as crispy as others. I liked the nuggets, but my partner did not care for them. They don't like any veggie nugget I have made them though, lol. The sauce for the nuggets tastes of honey mustard, vinegar, and nutritional yeast - not sure if that's what it is - but I wish they had BBQ sauce. Overall, it was very tasty! Great burger! I really enjoyed the food. I ordered The Fancy, which had standard toppings atop the patty and cheese. Flavorful patty and the cheese melted well (a challenge for vegan cheese). I'm neither vegan nor vegetarian but I believe this burger would satisfy many a meat eater both body and mind. I know we all know we should eat less meat so I'm grateful for company is making these tarty options. The nuggets were even better than the burgers. The filling could fool many an omnivore into believing that it was indeed a chicken nugget. The breading was incredible, achieving a crispness more reminiscent of Japanese and Korean double fry techniques. The fries also were very good. Vegetarian fast food. Ordered the chicken nugget sandwich and it was decent. Chicken nuggets could be a little crispier, and have some more flavoring. fries were good. Chocolate shake was a little icey. Overall, decent fast food. read more

Wow! Phenomenal. We came on a sunny Sunday late afternoon, very much looking forward to trying Portland's newest vegan fast food joint. Customer service off the bat was super friendly and very conversational. The drive thru set-up is a hybrid of a Sonic drive thru & Dutch Bros: there was a young person standing with a tablet in hand awaiting to take people's orders. There was one mustached employee who went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed, including adding a few chicken nugget sauces (unprompted) to dip with the fries. This is a MUST if you come. It was giving a chipotle-mustard vibe; it was very palatable. Food: I got the double fancy combo. Bun was solid, and the patty was surprisingly super flavorful. The sauce was delicious, although a bit runny. The burger stayed intact the entire duration my group was chowing down, +1. If I had to leave a suggestion, I would say more lettuce could be added. On top of the allergen table they provide, I would be interested in seeing an ingredient list and nutrition label on the website and/or on-site. We did notice that they use the GOOD ice for their drinks, +5. We can't wait to try the milkshakes when they come in. The meal overall had minimal grease compared to other higher quality fast food chains. Wrapping: The paper of the to-go bag and burger wrap were good quality. The burger wrap in particular supported a pretty clean eating experience, and that's with the slight runniness of the sauce. Branding is very appealing, simple, and effective. read more
Overall, the food was delicious & affordable. I respect that it took the team several years to develop the recipes. The nuggets were crispy and really on par with chicken nuggets. The dipping sauce was so good too! The burger patty tasted right; it didn't taste off or fall apart. The fries were probably the only part of the meal that wasn't a stand out. Face Plant resembles In & Out in terms of friendly service & stripped down menu & cleanliness. Our food took some time to come out and the crew gave us an extra 5 nuggets. I'm updating my review to 4 stars based on my recent visit. I came at an off peakish hour around 3:30pm on a Saturday, and the place was packed. Even though they were busy, the wait wasn't very long. The restaurant is clean and there's plenty of parking. I had taken the grandkids to a movie and told them I would take them out for a meal afterwards. They didn't want to go for a drive to Portland, so I went by myself and got the meal to go. I got the Fancy burger combo without onions for myself and 2 Red and Yellow burgers for the grandkids. They are not vegan, but they gave 2 enthusiastic thumbs up! Still no milkshakes, so next time I am in the neighborhood, I will have to give them another try! read more

Service is always very quick, there's usually only a few people in line. The servers are super nice and always like to make small talk as well. Although the area is desolate the food is really quite nice. The burgers aren't my personal favorite as I am a meat lover but my partner who doesn't eat meat loved them. I enjoyed the nuggets and the milkshake most of all! Love that the shake has oat milk so the dairy doesn't hurt my stomach. Overall very nice, definitely recommend if you're veggie at all! read more

Love that it's vegan with rave reviews, but is it Beyond or impossible or soy or what? What plant milk is in your shakes? I don't drink coconut milk due to cholesterol issues?
I'm pretty sure the milk in their shakes is Ripple, but you should call them to verify.
