Knife on the wall. She's in there.

Welp. Was excited to try this spot after following since they were at Hawthorne market. Food: solid. Great chicken. Crispy. Great flavors. Service: sucked and will never go again. I asked simply to have my sandwich cut in half and was denied saying she didn't have the possibility. She offered me a sh**tty plastic knife to cut my sandwich. So here's a picture of the massive food-safe knife that was on the wall where she could've cut my sandwich, but apparently that was too much work for her. Never again. I wish I could take back my tip. That's my advice. Don't tip cause they aren't doing anything special to earn it.

Ordered thru doordash tonight. Instead of fried pickles I got fried brussel sprouts, fries were ice cold, chicken was hot, but really not up to their standard.

My son and I are celiac the rest of the family is not. We all echoed this is the BEST FRIED CHICKEN we ALL have ever had!!!!! Dave's what? Raising who?? We are telling you gluten free or not run to Your Side Chicks.

Yelpers, ya'll are SLEEPING on this amazing dedicated gluten free food truck! I'm so happy this place exists! I've been gluten free for over a decade now, and let's face it... it's usually just easier to eat foods that are naturally gluten free, than to try and find a gf substitute. I've been craving fried chicken fierce, and chef Daniel did not disappoint! Holy hell, the chicken tenders were so flavorful and juicy! No dry chicken here, peeps! (Pun was not intended, but now I'm for sure leaving it ) My husband said this was some of the best fried chicken he has ever had... and he's not gf! Perfectly seasoned, crispy, crinkle fries with a side of tasty coleslaw rounded out our lunch. We split a 5-pc meal, and I have leftovers for dinner - score! I'm not sure what is in the secret sauce, but holy crap, that 'ish is amazing too! We also tried one of the hot sauces plus a black garlic ranch. Both were equally tasty, and I can't wait to try all the different sauces. Whether or not you are gluten free, Your Side Chicks is a MUST stop whenever you're in the area! Thank you chef Daniel! We can't wait to be back!

Drove across town because they were "open" just to be closed. Clear hours of business operation would be nice before wasting people's time and gas. 06/23/25

One drink and the "Employee Health" charge of an additional 5% made the bill $163.80 before tip. Okay, so that's the not inexpensive part. As for the food, there were several great dishes. I was not wild about the salad we got, The Crunchmaster Crisp, the my friend said a different one she had previously was really good. We got the Crusty Avocado - seeds coat the outside and inside the avocado is filled with Ahi tuna. That was a good dish. We also had Garden Peas which were pretty good. The trout was excellent, the Fried Chicken was unique, and quite good. We got a couple of the skewers (they're small!), the pork belly and the steak and both were great. I could have ordered several and made a meal out of those! The Milk Chocolate dessert was good, but I wasn't a big fan of the "baby popcorn". The Whip-a-licious was well liked by my friend. It was better than I thought it would be because I'm not a big passion fruit fan. Our service was excellent. All together, I definitely recommend for the food, atmosphere, and service. Just be prepared for an expensive night out!

Overall, the experience was fun, but the food didn't quite live up to it for me. The menu feels more like tapas or shareable small plates, so expect to order several dishes if you're hungry. I also found the portions to be pretty small for the price. Refer to the photos. We came here for date night in March and were seated on the outdoor patio. Although they had heat lamps, it was still pretty chilly. The drinks, however, were the highlight of the evening. Mine even came with a fun little elixir shot on top, so cute! Be sure to make a reservation because this place gets busy. While I probably wouldn't come back for the food - I'd definitely stop in again for the cocktails and the atmosphere.

They are genuinely happy. I've been here maybe a dozen times in the last two years, and the serving crew is always top notch. The cocktails are consistently great too. So, that goes a long way for repeat business! The food is usually excellent, and a recent brunch was outstanding (see pics). Occasionally, there has been a near miss with too much salt on the Brussels sprouts or other minor infraction like that. All in all, it has displaced Serrato as my "go to" to meet up with friends. I've only eaten outside, so I have no idea what the inside experience is like. Outside, it's a sheltered patio with heaters if needed and a few small tables against the building as well. Bonus for this area in general is that it's a great place to walk around and window shop, and it's relatively close to the Japanese and Rose Gardens (by car).

The interior is attractive and very modern, and there is a large covered and heated patio if you prefer to sit outside (we did). The service was a little bit slow, but not egregious and the server was very friendly. The menu is not extensive, but it has good variety and everything on it looked excellent. All of their ingredients seem high-quality, and they have a number of gluten-free and vegetarian offerings. I ended up getting the eggs benedict, which came with a little salad. The salad was fresh, not wilted, and came with a light vinaigrette. The eggs benedict was absolutely stellar-- perfectly poached eggs, creamy hollandaise, and grilled halloumi to give some well-received brine to the bite, all atop an english muffin. For the price point and the quality, the portions are good. My one wish was that I could have subbed my salad for some of their potatoes! My partner got the pork belly hash, and thought that the potatoes were cooked perfectly-- crispy and well-seasoned. He did notice that there were only a few pieces of pork in the dish, but we chalked this up to the ingredient quality. We ended up staying for Happy Hour, which was fun! We got the fries with garlic aioli (so good!) and I ordered their daily cocktail special, a margarita. They gave me a good, heavy, pour, which is always appreciated. Great brunch spot if you want to go somewhere a little chic.

We were seated immediately, but waited a short while for our order to be taken. They seemed quite busy. The dessert menu takes up a whole page. You can see many items in the front case when you walk in. There were at least 10 gluten free options, all clearly marked on the menu. All looked delicious and the decision was difficult for once. My dad had the mango black tea panna cotta and I went for the raspberry gateau. The panna cotta had great flavor. Subtle on the tea, strong with the mango. A generous portion but light enough that it could be finished. The raspberry gateau was rich and chocolatey. The raspberries were a necessity to add dimension to the dish. I recommend this location for celebrations, evenings out, or for a sweet treat just because. Everything is clean and it feels fancy and special without being overly exclusive. Luckily, our group of five didn't have to wait too long before getting seated. We all ordered different desserts so we could try a variety of things. The crème brûlée was really good, super creamy and definitely one of my favorites. The boccone dolce was a meringue based dessert, which unfortunately wasn't really my thing. The Passion dessert was yummy with a nice sour tang to it. We also tried the triple chocolate cake, which was very rich, dark, and sweet. If you're a huge chocolate lover, this might be the perfect dessert for you. We ordered an affogato as well, and their vanilla ice cream was so good! One thing I didn't get to try was the raspberry matcha cloud, but it looked really good and I think my friend enjoyed it. Overall, I can definitely see why this place is so well known and popular. I'm not sure if it's somewhere I would personally go out of my way to come back to, but it was still a fun experience and worth trying at least once.
