Knife on the wall. She's in there.

Welp. Was excited to try this spot after following since they were at Hawthorne market. Food: solid. Great chicken. Crispy. Great flavors. Service: sucked and will never go again. I asked simply to have my sandwich cut in half and was denied saying she didn't have the possibility. She offered me a sh**tty plastic knife to cut my sandwich. So here's a picture of the massive food-safe knife that was on the wall where she could've cut my sandwich, but apparently that was too much work for her. Never again. I wish I could take back my tip. That's my advice. Don't tip cause they aren't doing anything special to earn it.

Ordered thru doordash tonight. Instead of fried pickles I got fried brussel sprouts, fries were ice cold, chicken was hot, but really not up to their standard.

My son and I are celiac the rest of the family is not. We all echoed this is the BEST FRIED CHICKEN we ALL have ever had!!!!! Dave's what? Raising who?? We are telling you gluten free or not run to Your Side Chicks.

Drove across town because they were "open" just to be closed. Clear hours of business operation would be nice before wasting people's time and gas. 06/23/25

Yelpers, ya'll are SLEEPING on this amazing dedicated gluten free food truck! I'm so happy this place exists! I've been gluten free for over a decade now, and let's face it... it's usually just easier to eat foods that are naturally gluten free, than to try and find a gf substitute. I've been craving fried chicken fierce, and chef Daniel did not disappoint! Holy hell, the chicken tenders were so flavorful and juicy! No dry chicken here, peeps! (Pun was not intended, but now I'm for sure leaving it ) My husband said this was some of the best fried chicken he has ever had... and he's not gf! Perfectly seasoned, crispy, crinkle fries with a side of tasty coleslaw rounded out our lunch. We split a 5-pc meal, and I have leftovers for dinner - score! I'm not sure what is in the secret sauce, but holy crap, that 'ish is amazing too! We also tried one of the hot sauces plus a black garlic ranch. Both were equally tasty, and I can't wait to try all the different sauces. Whether or not you are gluten free, Your Side Chicks is a MUST stop whenever you're in the area! Thank you chef Daniel! We can't wait to be back!

I was so excited I forgot to take a photo!

Sean provided incredible service for our visit. I have been gluten free for years and this is by far some of the best food I've had!

The delicious biscuit does not get entirely lost under the thick blanket of gravy. The golden crust created a barrier that maintained the fluffy interior. I also liked The Reggie (4 stars) biscuit sandwich that included good fried chicken, gravy, cheese, and bacon. I liked how crispy the Hash Browns (3 stars) were, but it was very greasy. My husband likes the BBQ Biscuit. My son either gets the Biscuit (5 stars) or the Blueberry Cornmeal Pancake (4 stars). The S'mores Pop Tart (4 stars) was a sweet contrast to my savory brunch dish. I also liked the strong Mocha Cold Brew (4 stars) with oat milk. The service has been consistently 4 stars. They're friendly when you order and when they bring your order. The wait for the food isn't too long. My family and I enjoy our meal every time.

The biscuit was fluffy with just the right amount of crumble, and the gravy was rich and savory without feeling too heavy. Once you break the egg and let the yolk mix into everything, it really brings the whole dish together. My date ordered the chicken fried steak plate and was very happy with it. The steak was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and the portion size was generous. It is an order at the counter and then find a seat setup, which keeps things casual and efficient. The staff was friendly and welcoming, even though it seems like it can get really busy during peak times. The ambiance feels laid back and comfortable, classic Portland brunch vibes. Prices felt fair for the quality and portion sizes. I gave it 4 stars and would definitely go back.

The portion sizes are quite small so definitely don't go hungry and I recommend eating first. Mainly go here for drinks. There are still good things - the highlight was the flavor of the food! Shoestring Fries: So crispy and nicely seasoned!! Honestly I could have ate just these all night. Brisket Skewer: Garlicky Smoky Well seasoned Tender Just wish there was more! Each skewer was maybe 2 inches :( Empanada: Nice seasoning with a generous amount of filling. Tender! Pickled onions were such a great add and complimented nicely. The shell was a bit too crispy? It was falling apart as your bit into it. Wish there was a bit more salsa verde. The drinks were good as well - creative, fun, and balanced.
