Let me start that this is my fave place to go for chicken - and I was bragging about it to friends. So we decided to have a fried chicken party so they could taste it. So disappointing. Baes is now charging 2 bucks for its Texas toast so we got a big container with two pieces and some pickles that tasted and felt like they had been under the heat lamp for a good hour. The chicken was dry - I was so sad cause I had never had a bad piece of chicken there. Not sure what happened Baes but my friends no longer trust my judgment when it comes to good fried chicken. Reputation management nightmare!

Made a stop into this restaurant for lunch or the national hot chicken restaurant was pretty empty for lunchtime. Everything was clean neat for an order and the service was good. I also ordered mashed potatoes with gravy. The mashed potatoes were good, but I feel they had too much gravy on them. I also ordered a strawberry lemon cinnamon roll. That was very tasty while it was warm.

I was downtown with some friends at the Portland winter light festival. It was really fun! Right around the corner with this yummy chicken joint :-) I have intended to come here for a while, so I was quite happy that we did. I ordered the two piece dark meat chicken that came with a side which I chose mashed potatoes and gravy. My friends ordered the wings and some chicken tenders with waffle fries. The chicken was hot and crispy. I liked their batter a lot. Crunchy, but yet with tender juicy chicken. The mashed potatoes and gravy were really good. Creamy mashed potatoes with a bit of a spicy gravy. My only complaint there was that they were not hot at all. They have several different dipping choices. I chose honey mustard, which was very tasty with the chicken. I had a couple of the wings and I really like them a lot. Tender yet crispy with some great sauces. The waffle fries were a nice addition. The people that worked there were super friendly and helpful. The place was really clean and the bathroom was good as well. They were not very busy at this time and we were able to sit in a great booth and watch all the activity in the kitchen. Definitely going back here to try some other things and enjoy some great chicken. Bonus was their pickles were very tasty :)

Really good Nashville hot chicken in Portland. The spices were reminiscent of the flavors I'd had in the East--quite numbingly spicy. The buttered slice of toast and side of pickles are perfectly complementary! I wish there were more pickles though. Rather slow, but very respectful service! The location in Moda Center is much different in menu from this place -- both are good but check this one out!

Ok the chicken pieces you get are HUGE and I was like there is NO WAY this chicken is going to be both cooked through AND moist, something had to give right? WRONG! So deliciously WRONG! This is the best fried chicken I have ever had in my entire life and I am SAD that I'm a whole state away from them. The flavor I chose was bae's buffalo and it was so dang good. My son chose the fried chicken sando which was really spicy and equally as good. Downside is the sando didn't come with fries but my strips did. Just know you gotta order fries separately if you don't get the strips basket. Service was fine, not overly friendly or accommodating. Kind of odd but I'm not here to judge I'm here to eat and that chicken was everything. Ambiance felt like I was in a brewery. (That's not a negative just to give an idea of size/seats etc) 10/10 would make a trip to Oregon from California JUST to come here again

I was looking forward to a good meal during our visit in portland.... but bae's fried chicken fell short. my mother is a friend chicken connoisseur and we both ordered the wings. hubby got a chicken sandwich. the flavor of the chicken was good, but bite too deep into the brunette and get met with undercooked ick! We returned the batch and ordered a new one, only to experience the same thing. The flats were cooked through, but the large drummers were not. We were told it was due to the chickens being young. (I have never heard of this.... and could not find anything g during my thorough google search about cooking young chickens - it seems this was a narrative they were trying to push, but i could not find a reputable source to back it up....) Moreover, I didn't find the staff particularly helpful or friendly. Needless to say, We won't be returning because under cooked chicken in' t really my thing. Sandwiches might be ok..... use caution when ordering the wings.

Worst fried chicken I've ever eaten. $18 for the absolute worst chicken I've ever eaten. Family of 4 $130 for the worst chicken in the world. Really surprised the owner would sell out their name for this food stall at the moda. Guaranteedthis chicken was bought frozen from the local Cash and Carry.

Stumbled onto this place while walking back to my hotel from Voodoo. I got the 3 pc hot chicken tenders with a side of corn and spicy peach dipping sauce - it was amazing. I've never had cajun corn served off the cob like that but wow it was good. My girlfriend also got a side of fries with ranch that I tried and it was great too. It came out super fast and the place had plenty of seating as well.

Been to both locations a few times now I had to take a look at a few pictures I took because they took the greens off the menu but this was my go-to, I would order just sides of it. Been asking when they would bring it back and I guess they're not. Great service, great food, recommend syrup for dipping sauce, and both locations are perfect for family outings.

Came here when I was in the area looking for a quick bite and it wasn't bad! The inside of the restaurant separates the kitchen/pay area with the dining area, and I kind of like it. The space is abundant and there's lots of seating, decor is also super cute and I love how simple it is. Their menu has quite a few options as to how you can eat your chicken with different flavors too! I went with the honey butter, and the sauce on the bun was heavenly. Although I didn't get to try much, this seems like a pretty solid spot and if I had a bigger appetite, I would definitely come back to give it another try!

So the first thing I'll point out is how good the services are very kind and respectful and always have a smile on the face and there are some hard workers in the back making that food. The food is really good and made fresh and that chicken is crispy and juicy, and there is no Dry piece of meat that served you.. really enjoyed the Nashville chicken and that Texas style toast. That lemonade slushy is a great choice on a hot summer's day too.

Yes it matters if you want to support black owned businesses 🙄

Are dogs allowed in the outdoor patio area?

Very doubtful since you can't bring dogs inside

I wouldn't even try to come here, there's probably a lot of cross contamination

With delivery and tip, our total was about $79...which seems steep, but realistically their "sliders" are about the size of a standard Popeyes chicken sandwich with a HUGE piece of chicken. We got 4 sandwiches, fries, mac and cheese and the five piece mozzarella "slabs" (they're not sticks lol), plus I ordered a large ranch and Dave's sauce (like a better version of Chic-Fil-A sauce) and a small hot honey and Reaper ranch...so price pretty standard for the amount of food. The food traveled well and these were literally the best chicken sandwiches we've had. Chicken was juicy and crispy and a dry season that was insanely good. Slaw was crunchy and pickles were tangy. I added hot honey and Dave's sauce to mine and they were amazing. Fries are standard crinkle cut, but well seasoned and crispy. Mac and cheese was good, pretty much the exact kind you'd want as a kid...gooey and Kraft like flavored but with shells and a little wetter. Mozzarella "sticks" were good, I got them in Mild and if anything they were seasoned with the same seasoning they use for the chicken and very good, but surprisingly a bit too salty for me...I'd probably stick to the sandwiches and the fries to be honest. OKAY, but for the HEAT LEVELS: I debated for a while on which to order because I'd say we have a decent spice tolerance...like habaneros are my favorite, but I find them spicy. Buldak ramen is hot as heck, but manageable. To be safe, I got us each a Mild and Medium the first time and we noticed very little variation between the two, and maaaaybe a small spice kick on the back end with the Medium. That being said, we both agreed we'd like a little extra spice next time and considering the jump between Mild and Medium was so minimal, we figured Hot or Extra Hot would be good for us. WE WERE SO WRONG. We ordered again on Sunday. Two Hot sandwiches and one Extra Hot to share...and I highly recommend ordering either of those if you enjoy pain, anguish, are looking to smell colors and taste sounds; because I'm pretty sure we both almost simply passed away. I used half a large container of Dave's sauce on my Hot sandwich as well as an ungodly amount of honey...and by the time the tears in my eyes cleared I realized my fiance was just walking laps through the house in between bites. The flavor is still there, but at what cost? About 20 minutes after eating we both resigned to carrying the fireball in our stomachs to lie down and wait to succumb to our choices, only to awake 4 hours later with hiccups and burps that would make a fire breathing dragon envious. Just be warned if you like spice, you won't find it in the Medium except for at a totally normal amount, if you love spice...you'll find it and then hate that you did at the Hot or above amount. Suffice to say, we'll be returning often...or ordering (whatever)...but we're sticking to Medium even if that makes us wimpy. And if you know someone who chooses Extra Hot or Reaper for enjoyment, you should not only fear them, but get a restraining order...because something ain't right if you can enjoy that. And if you're chaotic like us and STILL want to try a higher spice amount, do yourself a favor and just order a single tender first to try the different levels so you can enjoy your meal fully without being surprised at how one level can increase the spice by 1% and then the next somehow jumps it up 50%. I wish there was a way to get a Medium-Hot one, but I'd still rather take the less spicy, more flavor. Anyways, perfectly cooked chicken, fast service and I'd highly recommend!

Overall, I thought it was decent, but personally it didn't really stand out from some of the other hot chicken spots around. The chicken was crispy and juicy, fries were solid, and the heat level had a nice kick without overpowering everything. Good food overall, just not something that personally blew me away. What really stood out though was the customer service. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The restaurant was clean, the food came out quick, and the atmosphere had a fun energy to it. One thing my wife and daughter really enjoyed was the cheese sticks. That cheese pull was actually super satisfying and probably one of the highlights of the meal for us Definitely one of those moments you almost have to record before taking a bite. Would I come back? Probably if I was nearby and craving hot chicken, but for me it was more of a solid casual spot than a must-have destination. Still worth trying at least once if you haven't been before.
