Not sure which was which but signature sauce, jalapeño ranch and spicy garlic
    Paige S.

Delicious gluten free food truck! Felt save eating there as a celiac which is rare with food trucks. Fried chicken tenders were delicious. French fries were good. Tried three sauces and they were all very similar. Got their signature sauce, spicy garlic and jalapeño ranch. Friendly staff. Very nice area to eat as well. Fast service. Will definitely be back again. Next time I was to try some fried pickles!

It was my first time at the Brooklyn Carretta carts and I was craving fried chicken so google maps took me here.

Their description shall remain vague and they will be nameless. I wasn't feeling like franchise food so I asked him to look around. He steered us to Basilisk. Boy, he picked a good spot. Basilisk shares a communal dining space with a Vietnamese spot, a bar, and a pizza place. It wouldn't be fair to compare Basilisk to Nashville Hot Chicken because the flavors are different and unique in their own right. I probably could have downed the dandan fries and been happy with my meal but I'm an overachiever. We each had the sandwich, shared the dandan fries, and my son had koolaid flavored soft serve. Warning to the wise - don't get too confident about the heat levels. The heat doesn't kick right away. It's a slow drop until you get that punch in the throat. Good punch but one nonetheless. Enjoy!

I have visited this spot many times over the years and the Basilisk food quality and service remains consistently good over nearly a decade of patronage. The patio at the zipper is perfect for a spring lunch date with your bestie. I order my chicken sando first and then grab a drink at Paydirt while I wait! Service is always great at Basilisk and the fried chicken is the kind you think about days later.

The chicken- moist, the rice, a finishing touch. The entire meal was exactly what I wanted. Simple, chicken soup for the soul that hit every tastebud requirement too! Thanks @Nico M for the recommendation. Solid food, solid price. It's definitely a place I would visit

HERE'S THE TRUTH: I kept looking at the pictures of this…read morechicken and thinking that it looked awfully bland and unexciting, but I always like to be surprised, and everybody raved about it, so I was excited to try it. Unfortunately, I was completely underwhelmed. This is moist chicken with a very, very, very modest amount of flavor. The only reason that people are raving about this is because they are used to dry chicken breasts and because they are using copious amounts of the dipping sauces to provide flavor. The dipping sauces basically taste like a decent ginger-based Asian salad dressing and a normal Thai peanut sauce. If you dip your chicken in those, that's what it tastes like. If you don't dip your chicken in these, you have juicy, basic chicken. If you want to make chicken like this, there are so many ways you can do it. Grab a sous vide circulator, vacuum seal your chicken breasts, and cook them at 140 for a little longer than you normally would. They'll come out more tender and juicy than this and equally underwhelming in flavor. I think virtually every rotisserie chicken I've ever had is as moist and has ten times more flavor than this chicken. You can also get pretty darn similar results using a pressure cooker, which will also render you some nice chicken broth that is very much like the broth that they serve. If I had to guess, they probably do exactly this, but I don't know that for sure. I also tried their pork. It was much more flavorful since it's marinated in cola and other spices and is a very fatty cut (probably shoulder) There was a surprisingly high fat to meat ratio. I haven't had a lot of Filipino food, but these flavors sort of reminded me of what I have had. Certainly not bad, but I wouldn't find myself returning for it. The service was friendly, and the cucumber water is a wonderfully nice touch. I wish everyone did that.

I bought two cinnamon rolls there just a few days ago, one for my son, and one for me. I'm very disappointed to say on the quality of the two cinnamon rolls that I paid for didn't look that great, HERE'S WHY! when I got home, I opened the box and the cinnamon rolls were small, you can fit three more in the box. Hardly any icing on one of them, the taste on both tasted like a day old, old and stale. We did come later during the day so maybe that's why, here is a picture of the two cinnamon rolls down below "BEFORE EATING IT." The ambiance was cool, it's just the food I'm giving a two star rating. I'll give this place another chance, maybe next time, I'll try the chicken. Well, this is what I paid for. UPDATE: I FORGOT TO TAKE AN "AFTER PICTURE" TO SHOW SINCE THE STAFF MEMBER WITH THE LONG BEARD WITH GLASSES NAME "BRANDON" REPLIED BACK TO ME ON HERE VERY RUDELY AND HIS MAIN PROFILE PICTURE SHOWS HIM STICKING HIS MIDDLE FINGER UP, WAS THAT MEANT FOR ME!?! NO WONDER THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE ON HERE WITH A LOW STAR RATING NOT JUST BECAUSE OF THE FOOD, BUT "HOW RUDE" THE STAFF IS. MAYBE YOU SHOULD'T POST ALL THOSE SIGNS UP TO CUSTOMERS AROUND YOUR SHOP SUGAR COATING TO GO TRY YOUR DRY STYLE CINNAMON ROLLS!

With delivery and tip, our total was about $79...which seems steep, but realistically their "sliders" are about the size of a standard Popeyes chicken sandwich with a HUGE piece of chicken. We got 4 sandwiches, fries, mac and cheese and the five piece mozzarella "slabs" (they're not sticks lol), plus I ordered a large ranch and Dave's sauce (like a better version of Chic-Fil-A sauce) and a small hot honey and Reaper ranch...so price pretty standard for the amount of food. The food traveled well and these were literally the best chicken sandwiches we've had. Chicken was juicy and crispy and a dry season that was insanely good. Slaw was crunchy and pickles were tangy. I added hot honey and Dave's sauce to mine and they were amazing. Fries are standard crinkle cut, but well seasoned and crispy. Mac and cheese was good, pretty much the exact kind you'd want as a kid...gooey and Kraft like flavored but with shells and a little wetter. Mozzarella "sticks" were good, I got them in Mild and if anything they were seasoned with the same seasoning they use for the chicken and very good, but surprisingly a bit too salty for me...I'd probably stick to the sandwiches and the fries to be honest. OKAY, but for the HEAT LEVELS: I debated for a while on which to order because I'd say we have a decent spice tolerance...like habaneros are my favorite, but I find them spicy. Buldak ramen is hot as heck, but manageable. To be safe, I got us each a Mild and Medium the first time and we noticed very little variation between the two, and maaaaybe a small spice kick on the back end with the Medium. That being said, we both agreed we'd like a little extra spice next time and considering the jump between Mild and Medium was so minimal, we figured Hot or Extra Hot would be good for us. WE WERE SO WRONG. We ordered again on Sunday. Two Hot sandwiches and one Extra Hot to share...and I highly recommend ordering either of those if you enjoy pain, anguish, are looking to smell colors and taste sounds; because I'm pretty sure we both almost simply passed away. I used half a large container of Dave's sauce on my Hot sandwich as well as an ungodly amount of honey...and by the time the tears in my eyes cleared I realized my fiance was just walking laps through the house in between bites. The flavor is still there, but at what cost? About 20 minutes after eating we both resigned to carrying the fireball in our stomachs to lie down and wait to succumb to our choices, only to awake 4 hours later with hiccups and burps that would make a fire breathing dragon envious. Just be warned if you like spice, you won't find it in the Medium except for at a totally normal amount, if you love spice...you'll find it and then hate that you did at the Hot or above amount. Suffice to say, we'll be returning often...or ordering (whatever)...but we're sticking to Medium even if that makes us wimpy. And if you know someone who chooses Extra Hot or Reaper for enjoyment, you should not only fear them, but get a restraining order...because something ain't right if you can enjoy that. And if you're chaotic like us and STILL want to try a higher spice amount, do yourself a favor and just order a single tender first to try the different levels so you can enjoy your meal fully without being surprised at how one level can increase the spice by 1% and then the next somehow jumps it up 50%. I wish there was a way to get a Medium-Hot one, but I'd still rather take the less spicy, more flavor. Anyways, perfectly cooked chicken, fast service and I'd highly recommend!
