Amazing food, all of it! All my non-vegan friends love it. Cali Burrito 4life! The empanadas are so good. Breakfast brunch menu so yummy and Carlos and Polo and the staff are so friendly and kind! A must visit in Portland. Such an artsy and inclusive environment.

This was their pink empanadas!

We went for their Valentines dinner and honestly it was one of the most romantic and beautiful evenings we've ever had. It was decorated to the nines and the decor was made in house. We were greeted and it was so warm and comfortable. No on to the food, it was amazing and delicious each course they brought out was delicious my favorite was the empanadas and my husbands favorite was the onion salad. We were able to take home the flowers which was a very sweet gift from the owners who are truly an amazing team and people. We appreciated their sliding scale pricing to include everyone no matter income. We felt apart of the fun and it was such a blessing.

The La Chimi is a MUST!! Mis Tacones somehow makes traditional Mexican food vegan without lacking any of the flavor! My Carne Asada Taco was just okay, but the Nachos Asada with fries were amazing!! Everything was beyond flavorful and the portions were enormous. My boyfriend and I split the La Chimi, Taco, and Nachos Asada with Fries. Even though we were so full, we did not feel bloated or have a heavy feeling in our stomachs due to the quality ingredients Mis Tacones provides its patrons. The restaurant gets busy and seating was limited inside, so just plan ahead if you are visiting Portland and not quite as acclimated to the weather. Still thinking about this place weeks after our visit!

Friend introduced me to this spot and I found it to be absolutely delicious! I'm not vegan, and loved everything. The salsas and cashew cheese dip were fantastic. Went for the alcoholic horchata, but they did have a full coffee bar I believe. They lost electricity in one part of the kitchen which may have affected the Service. One person kept saying something to the effect of, "I will have to trust you" when we told her some side items were missing from the order. It felt off-putting. We were willing to show her our orders on the phone, but she opted not to confirm. Place was decorated up for Halloween which they did a great job on. I would take friends here!

Empanada

Extremely flavorful vegan Mexican food. Their soyrizo empanada is 100% one of my favorite things ever! I love that they're one of the few vegan restaurants in PDX open pretty late (10). Their menu is tacos, tortas, chimichangas, burritos, nachos, fries, etc! Tried the virgin margarita and that was different and unique. Tasted very similar to a regular margarita but zero proof. The service was great and attentive as well. Love their brunch very much!

Had to come back and try more options! The breakfast burrito is fabulous and oh so filling. Thankfully to go boxes are easy to grab ;) Seasonal spiced sweet potato latte is incredible, spicy and sweet and ever so smooth.

Half fries, half chips El Pastor nachos. Spicy and delicious!

I have been wanting to try Mis Tacones forever - boy was it worth the wait!!!!! Their chimichanga is ginormous (it fed 3 of us) and was so delicious I can't stop thinking about it! The nachos were also HUGE and very very delicious! Everyone was so nice and helpful and the place is so cute and welcoming. I brought 2 non-vegans with me and they were very very impressed! Such a fun and vibrant atmosphere too!! I can't wait for another trip to PDX!!!

I ordered both forms of the tacos they offered! They were both delicious. Larger than most tacos and very fair pricing especially with how good the food is! The staff was very nice as well. This is an easy 5/5 star spot and anyone vegan or not would enjoy the food I'm sure. Highly suggest for anyone to come try it out!

Had an enjoyable visit over to Mis Tacones with some friends who were in town who are vegan. We needed an easy brunch spot and this fit the bill. I'll preface by saying that I personally am not vegan. Overall atmosphere is chill and fast casual I would say. Menu can be found at the table but you overall order at the counter which worked fine since it wasn't busy during our visit but I could see slowing things down. The decor is fun and festive with large murals and a lot of color. Food overall was tasty and satisfying. The portions I will say are good, and the general flavors are nice. We split the burrito with asada seitan, which packed a lot of flavor. I appreciated the salsas they had to go with the meals. I wouldn't go as far to say this was better than its meat alternative but it was a solid vegan option. If you need an all vegan spot this is a great choice, but otherwise probably wouldn't rush back.

So excited I stumbled upon Mis Tacones, PDXs top Vegan Mexican restaurant. I was inspired by Polo and Carlos' story and support their Queer Chicano Dream. The food was delicious, freshly made tortillas, the empanadas & tacos delightful. Matt and the crew worked hard to ensure I had a pleasant experience. The decor, the ambiance & interior design resonated with my own Queer Mexican identify - I felt at home, I felt safe. Service, quality, value & mission - top notch. I was also impressed by Carlos & Polo's mission to provide meals for marginalized communities & folks who may be struggling with resources. Highly recommend.

Inside vibes

Was disappointed after hearing all of the hype. I love how they use blue corn tortillas, but the taco flavors and stuffings were not as flavorful as expected. The corn empanada just had corn inside and it was a little dry with barely any flavoring. Meanwhile the tacos needed a lot of sauce. I tried one of the asada seitan tacos but unfortunately the seitan had that strange seitan-like flavor. That was my least favorite taco and I had to use a lot of salsa cover up the fake meat flavor. The frijole (beans) taco was way better. For someone who is used to eating regular meat tacos, this does not pass the bar.

Mulita de Pollo

I cannot recommend this place enough. This was my second time visiting Mis Tacones, but my first time dining in. Although there is only a small amount of seating inside, the space is thoughtfully decorated creating a very fun and lively atmosphere. The staff are all friendly and personable. I ordered the Mulita de pollo, which is a gluten-free version of a quesadilla made with a corn tortilla instead of a flour tortilla. It was full of flavor and came with a great portion size. My sister and Madre ordered the burrito ahogado (wet) and la chimi. Both were HUGE and just as delicious. For dessert, we shared La Casa De Mamas Pumpkin Tres Leches cake which we all devoured as it was so good!

I was super excited to try this vegan Mexican place in PDX. Ordered Taco Al Pastor and Quesadilla Asada. Both were pretty great. The al pastor have quite a flavor and that garlic cashew crema sauce on top of it is a great combination. I liked the taco tortilla as well. Liked quesadilla asada too - just put some hot sauce by the side. I was tempted to try mock tails and cocktails as they looked great! The service was quick enough.

Laulau, chicken long rice...CHICKEN LONG RICE! I haven't had that in years and suddenly my mouth was watering. None of the other plate lunch/Hawaiian food places in PDX have had that to my knowledge, and I needed to have it now. My dining companion was taking in the meat jun on the menu, as well as the fried rice omelette. We went in and ordered the chicken adobo fried rice omelette and chicken long rice on the side. Double starch, double chicken, check. Loved that the menu pointed out they serve koshihikari rice. I knew I was in good hands. No medium grain rice for this gal. The service was friendly, the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. There was a nice note on the wall saying the table would be bussed by staff, so we didn't have to play the guessing game of "search for the bus bins." Clean tables, bright light from the windows, good food. The adobo gravy on the omelette was winnahs. The omelette itself was not holding a candle to Elena's Food Truck, but tasty and filling. The chicken long rice was perfect. The only improvement would have been a nice hit of white pepper, maybe. The only thing not quite to my liking was the mac salad, but that didn't stop us from mopping our plates clean. We will be back for everything else on the menu.

We were warmly greeted, seated in a booth, and promptly served a basket of crispy tortilla chips and homemade salsa. The family-friendly atmosphere had a cozy neighborhood destination vibe. We shared a carne asada platter with a chile relleno and taco al pastor. The carne asada was amazing! Generous portion of grilled meat that was perfectly seasoned. All the sides you would want...guac, pico de gallo, sour cream, grilled scallion and jalapeño, rice, beans cheese plus your choice of tortillas to wrap it all up in. The chile relleno had lots of melty cheese and was thinly battered, just my style. So much yummy food, plenty for two. We had grapefruit Jaritos and n/a Corona but the margaritas look to be very popular, we even saw several huge ones with two straws being shared. Cannot comment on dessert, not enough room. We will definitely be back. Perfect pre-theater dinner and looks to be a great spot for family dining. We'll be back!!
