Pork with green sauce... Don't recall the name
    Alan S.

Talk about some fluffy eggs. We wondered in here for brunch/lunch and tried two different omelets. I can't remember the name of the pork one, the other was like a beef bierra omelet. I think the beef was the winner here. The potatoes were also quite good with onions and red peppers. It even came with a little fresh roll. This is a cute neighborhood place, with average service. Good food, good vibes.

There are not many Guatemalan restaurants in the area so when we came across this spot we knew we had to come - my mom's birthday was coming up so that was the perfect reason to come. I was very happy to see authentic Guatemalan dishes sprinkled into the menu. The desayuno chapin was so good and authentic. My sweet tooth was high so I opted for the pancakes - HEAVENLY. And of course brownie points for Famosa beer. Service was great and the spot was nice too. Would definitely come back.

Stumbled this cute little Mexican spot that serve brunch items all day. It was my first time eating chilaquiles and it was pretty good! I love the green and red hot sauces that they brought out for me. Made my dish extra delicious. My friend for the chicken and waffles but the batter came off very easily from chicken. So I may not order that for next time. The drinks we both had were delicious and standard. Friendly staff since they checked in on us a couple times.

So good, big portion, very reasonable price.

Welcome to the neighborhood. It shouldn't take too long for the word to spread as this Guatemalan-inspired spot offers some delicious fare. The verde chilaquiles were a hit. The chips could be a bit better, but the sauce and two homemade salsas more than make up for it. I inquired about purchasing the awesome orange colored salsa, but it only has a five-day shelf life. The steak and eggs were worthy. I'm never been a plantain fan, but these were so soft and not overly sweet. They are accompanied by a tasty green dipping sauce. And the tortillas were steamy warm, so good. The value play was the huge slice of homemade Tres Leches cake. Coffee is only drip, but they offer my beloved Cafe de Olla on the weekend. Service was great. These are the kind of owners you root for.

Beautiful restaurant with lots of seating and huge windows for people watching. The agua de Jamaica was incredible. It was just tart enough to make your mouth water and it was enormous. This was easily enough for two. Also, I don't drink alcohol anymore, but this would have been a perfect summer drink with a splash of tequila. Just saying. The potatoes are sauteed with onions and peppers and I loved that. They were a delicious side. Their twist on the eggs Benedict was to serve them on house-made corn sope shell, topped with hollandaise sauce. This sounded so good to me. Unfortunately, I didn't love it. The corn sope was dry and hard to cut through. I was not prepared for the preparation of the smoked salmon, but it was tasty, just a little dry. The eggs were also not runny. Overall, the dish had great flavors, but was too dry. The waitress gave us a piece of chocolate cake to take to go. Although I didn't take a picture of it, I devoured it another day and it was phenomenal. It was rich and decadent and filled with fresh strawberries. That was definitely the highlight for me. Between the cake and the friendly waitress I would come back to try some other options.

It's nice to have something new in the old Zell's location! The front of house staff were friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Chilaquiles de Molé with Carnitas and eggs over medium. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the molé was flavorsome. The only nit would be that everything could have done with a bit more seasoning- but still amazingly good. There are more things on the menu that I'm excited to try - I will be back.

What a great restaurant! So many excellent options for breakfast that we had a hard time narrowing it down to one. I chose the mole chilaquiles with carnitas, and it was spectacular--crunchy, saucy, and very flavorful. The coffee is also delicious. I highly recommend this place.

We decided on outdoor patio seating since the weather was nice & it was generally quieter outside. We were people watching for a bit and noticed that our fellow restaurant goers were waiting for quite a bit, but we weren't in a hurry, so it was fine. When our waiter eventually tended to us, he was incredibly friendly & apologetic, owning up to the delay being on him, but we were cool with it -poor guy was working a double shift. We started off with deep-fried okra, I ordered the fried chicken meal, & hubby ordered the burger. I got to pick the chicken pieces I wanted, so I went with 2 thighs, thinking they'd be smaller pieces, so I could maybe finish my meal. I opted for collard greens as well. The food came relatively quickly and was super-fresh. The fried okra bits were piping hot down to the last bite. They went well with the spicy aioli. We hung onto the aioli so hubby could dip his fries. My meal was so good. The chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful. The batter was just perfect and crisp. Mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. Gravy was rich and well-seasoned. Collard greens were so tasty. The balance of textures was just perfection. I ended up having to pack up a piece of chicken because it was so much food, but I enjoyed every bite I was able to take of my meal. I appreciated their welcoming vibe & the beautiful pride balloon arch inside the restaurant. I appreciated the friendly service. I appreciated the thoughtfully and expertly made food. After trying several restaurants during our trip to Portland, this was one of the places I was most excited to visit because of all the hype. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The service was good, but it wasn't especially memorable or exceptional. Overall, I'd describe the experience as average. I wouldn't make a special trip across town or plan a vacation around eating here, but if you're already in the area, it's worth giving it a try. Everyone's taste is different, and you may end up enjoying it more than I did.

Everything we ordered was gorgeous and whimsical in presentation, but of course that would mean little without the flavors to back it all up, which it had in spades. The Thai steak tartare tostadas were incredibly balanced, with brightness and herbaceous notes from the vegetables, herbs, and sauce, great punch from the Thai spices, richness from the tartare, and a nice snap and slight nuttiness from the tapioca crisps cradling everything underneath. The foie gras dumplings were simply divine. I expected them to be rich and dense, but they were like little pillows, with a savory filling and a perfect balance of smoked leek broth, crispy fried leeks, and a caramelized shallot jam that ended up being the surprise star of the dish for me. Then came the main event, the Duck Stack, which I can only describe as a McGriddle on steroids (in the best possible way!). Somehow it all worked beautifully, with the rich duck gravy, fluffy pancakes drenched in syrup, spiced onions, and a fried duck egg tying everything together in perfect harmony. It was one of those dishes that sounds wild on paper but is totally brilliant on the plate and in your mouth. Really fantastic meal from start to finish, and I'm already excited to come back to try more of the menu (and the happy hour!) on a future visit.

We had the coffee (Extracto, love.), I had a really good hef and my mother a very well balanced Bellini that I was very pleasantly surprised with trying. From what I saw, the lunch sounds very good and I'd be more apt to recommend folks give that a shot if they happened to be going there too. I'm not sure if I'd recommend as a must go stop. Vibe wise, the ambience is overall really nice. I think having rolled flatware, even with just upgraded napkins, would better complete the aesthetic you initially see and feel. This would also connect with the price point of the food and quality of the beverages. As a fellow server, on that note I would expect more consistent stronger visual appearance standards with servers. (Sorry guys! But some of you looked great!) Overall, I'd definitely join a friend for coffee and lunch over there in the future. Just wouldn't be my top pick for a celebratory brunch or intimate dinner with a date or friends and fam.
