    Tlacoyo

Cozy little food truck located in the old patio space of Cracker Jacks. They have covered outdoor picnic tables with propane heaters for the winter. We tried the veggie tlacoyo which is masa stuffed with cheese (or beans) topped with a cactus leaf salad, queso fresco and sour cream in a salsa verde sauce and we also ordered a carnitas taco, pastor taco and chorizo taco. I really liked the cactus salad and salsa verde in the tlacoyo and the medium salsa on the side was perfect. The tacos were alright. The handmade tortillas were really the highlight. The carnitas was a little on the dry side. Either way, worth coming back and I still need to try the quesadilla that others have been giving high regard to.

I had the 4 taco dealy, tacos de canasta, with a mix of flavors. It was delicious - definitely a pleasant surprise for what I'm used to in PDX. Pork belly was def my favorite. Service was fast and friendly. The outdoor eating space is very cute.

A tasty little food truck tucked away within a few businesses and residential homes. I found these guys, thanks to yelp, so I figured I'd give them a try. But with that notion, expect street parking. My order: ~ Tacos de Canasta (3 tacos for $9.50), one of each taco with potato and meats of al pastor, asada, and soy chorizo. They were smaller street tacos size, but each had huge flavor. And the corn tortillas held up well. I'd order these again! ~ Tacos Tinga ($4), a bigger corn taco with chicken meat. This too had a lot of flavor. I think it's the freshness of the tortilla that makes their tacos so good! ~ Aqua Fresca ($4.50) to wash things down. Not too sweet and refreshing for a cold December day. There's no inside dining, but they've got a few clean patio tables. As I waited for my order, I had a little chat with the owner, Eddie. He explained a bit about how they got started, and what they want to bring with this food truck. And that's the bolder flavors from Mexico City, where they are from. His mom (or MIL) was there cooking all the goods. That's always a good sign! Support your locals folks! Oh yeah, see my tip. I came on a Thursday afternoon, and asked about the tamales. They actually were prepping Tamales for the night. They only sell them Friday/Saturday, but they might be available Thursday night too. Ask, maybe you'llget lucky. I'll have to come back to try them for sure!

This is truly one of those hidden Mexican food gems you'll probably ever find in Portland. What I mean is that the food will not only be authentic from that region (CDMX) but it will be made by real madres! (Jefas, doñas, tias etc) I met the owner today and she is truly the embodiment of a real Mexican tia (aunt) and reminds me so much of my childhood in the way she speaks with her food. Her nopales are literally the BEST I've ever had. That labor of love shows in the taste and quality. I personally loved all the salsas but the habanero (spicy) and the medium spicy one were my absolute favorites!!! Both not too spicy in my opinion, just enough fire to give great flavor to my food. We were here on a Wednesday early afternoon and parking was easy. Finding the spot isn't too hard either, it's on 28th and Thurman. You'll see a open gate on the side on 28th and you'll find her food cart there along with seating in the back with a covered patio or if you want to enjoy some sunshine like we did, there's also seating outside the patio :) quesadilla was my absolute favorite but the carne asada burrito was also delicious! Will definitely be getting tacos de canasta next time.

The best quesadilla I've had (including a decade of eating Mexican food in LA). Sooo juicy and flavorful. Really chill atmosphere, authentic delicious food from the son and mother duo. Friendly and delicious. Great place to stop for fuel before or after trail walking at Leif Erikson.

Food is fine. People are nice. But like so many places lately,so expensive..$6.50 for one tamale.... Quesadilla was inly $10.50... But more like a corn cake. Woild give it another go.... But it is on the expensive side.

-Tlacoyos. Corn masa stuffed with cheese or beans, dipped in salsa verde, topped with cactus leaf salad, quest fresco, and crema.

Limited menu of good Mexican cuisine. The only menu item I have left to try are the tacos! Plenty of outdoor seating also.

Great food. Unique menu, not a typical taco truck. Fast friendly service. It's hidden behind the old Crackerjacks building, off of 28th.

Both the fish and the prawns were cooked in a red sauce that was delicious! I meant to ask for blue corn tortillas but was so excited to find shrimp & fish tacos that weren't deep-fried that I forgot to ask for them. The regular corn tortillas were excellent, though, so it was not a bad mistake to make. I also had jamaica to drink and let me tell you... it was not made from a mix! It was dark, thirst-quenching, and perfectly made. Most jamaica is super sweet - this was not! I love the flavor of real hibiscus and this did not disappoint. My friends had chile relleno bowls and birria tacos, all of which was excellent. Their watermelon margaritas were tasty and refreshing! Our orders were taken by a helpful person at the cash register and the food was served quickly by a friendly server. The inside and outside areas were clean and tidy, with plenty of seating available at the outside tables. The outdoor seating area is under cover making it a good choice for both summer & winter dining. Definitely going on my "have to go back and try something else" list!

It is the kind of place you instantly feel comfortable settling into. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly kind, and the service was genuinely great throughout. We ordered the Quekas with vegan chorizo and black beans and they were SO good, honestly a standout. The chips and guac were also a hit, and I loved that the guac was actually cold. Such a small detail that makes a big difference. The Citrus Salad was super fresh, crisp, and delicious, which balanced everything out perfectly. I also tried the NA classic margarita and it was so refreshing. I loved the subtle touch of orange juice. Overall, such a lovely spot with amazing food, great vibes, and thoughtful details. I will definitely be back!
