Phenomenal. Flavorful. Fast. Great location connected to a neat bar. This still is the best bbq tacos I've had In Portland.

Love the tacos here, especially the chopped brisket! At this point I feel like the only competition Matt's BBQ has is with their other locations!

Holy moly. What a spot. Friends gassed it up, well the other location within a brewery, but they lost power. So, we landed at the truck location. Order on the POS, then you'll get a text when it's ready. While you're waiting, grab a beer on the inside, I got the bull run cider. For food - Chips and queso (bomb) - Chopped brisket taco - Beef taco supremo It's so good. Literally so good. Slapped sitting out in the heat and with a cider. Perfection. Matt's the man.

Highly recommend the Migas taco if you're looking for a taco that's absolutely loaded with toppings and flavor. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the tortilla itself is so delicious and soft. I didn't get to try the other tacos in the picture, but everyone loved them. They're located in a food truck park that has plenty of shaded seating. You order up at the front on an iPad and receive a number that is called when the food is ready. Our food was prepared quickly. They had a variety of salsas - none were really that spicy but still quite tasty! Looking forward to coming back.

Love that they have a few vegetarian/vegan options, so I went for the beyond beef vegan taco. It looks simple but very filling. They seasoned the protein well and the corn tortilla was very authentic. Even their basic breakfast taco was top notch as well. They serve those all day Their bean dip was also very delicious. In addition, I got an order of chips and salsa. The tortilla chips were the crunchiest and some of the best I've had and their pico salsa went well. At almost $7 per taco and for the chips/salsa it is on the pricey side, but still worth a visit

This food cart pod is called the Hinterland Cart Pod, or more formally named the Hinterland Bar & Food Carts. It had a nice big seating area, all open and pretty clean. Matt's BBQ Tacos is located toward the back of the food cart pod, very Texan looking, as they serve Texas-style BBQ. You order from the touch screen by the serving window, or you can order from their website. The wait time is shown above it, and as it is a popular spot, the wait time can go up significantly in a matter of minutes. You get a text when your order is ready, which is convenient. We got three different kinds of tacos to start. Chopped Beef Taco Supreme, Chopped Brisket Breakfast Taco, and Brisket Taco. The tacos were all very tasty, with tender, juicy meat. It was packed with flavor, with a nice note of smokey flavor. The tacos are not big, and after sharing the three tacos between the two of us, we decided to get two more tacos since my hubby was still a bit hungry for more. We went with more breakfast tacos, Sausage Patty and Hashbrown Taco, and Pulled Pork Breakfast Taco. We enjoyed all the breakfast ones. I especially loved the hashbrown one, it was so good! Everything we had from Matt's BBQ Tacos were pretty good, although our second order of two tacos took forever as the wait time was nearly one hour. That tells you they are super popular!

The hype around this place is extensive. I was left no choice but to stuff 3 of these tacos in my mouth and judge myself. First off the concept is pretty novel. Really pushing our concept of what tacos are to the limits. Why not do a bbq and taco fusion? Why not do it at every bbq place? I haven't looked up any information on Matt but my guess is he's from Texas. Why should breakfast tacos be most popular in the southern states? This is a non political take on Tacos. All in all these tacos were really high level. There was a lot of talk of this being a top 5 food cart in the city. It didn't seem that way to me. But it's a pretty substantial and must be regarded at a high level. (4.6 Stars)

Sliced Pork Belly Taco. Brisket taco. Mac n cheese hit and waffle fries

Seriously amazing Portland eatery The pork belly taco and Mac n cheese hit the spot. Highly recommend the Blueberry Muffin Sour

I can't believe I hadn't ever had BBQ meats in a taco before now--genius!! Matt's does it well with their homemade tortillas and well-seasoned sauces / guac / toppings. The G.O.A.T. was, in fact, the GOAT--so good. I also really liked the pork belly taco and felt it was pretty unique. The cheeseburger taco was also fun and well-crafted but I think benefited from adding their BBQ sauce. They allow for online ordering or there is a kiosk screen at the food cart and you get a text when your tacos are ready. There's a good amount of seating and even indoor, air conditioned seating options as well. This place is definitely worthy of it's reputation and worth a try! I will be back for the breakfast tacos!

A friend recommended this food truck to my husband and I and we were blown away by these tacos! I was expecting much smaller, street style tacos but that was not the case. The tacos came out quickly, were hot and filled to the brim with ingredients, making them messy but OH SO FUN. The menu has a lot of unique options such as the hash brown taco (a fan favorite of our table for sure), chopped brisket taco, and lots of breakfast style taco selections. I subbed out for corn tortillas and they were excellent and definitely seemed handmade. This food truck is connected to a bar/seating space called Hinterland, which you can order drinks from. It was nice to have an indoor heated space to enjoy our tacos and order a drink on such a chilly day. We will be coming back next time we visit Portland for sure!

I tipped generously assuming the food was going to be excellent. We ordered 2 Langua tacos, asada burrito, carnitas burrito and a carnitas quesadilla. We were told that it would be about 15 minutes. The space is right on 26, so fairly noisy. There were a few tables an available. The food was ready on time and we went home. I cut the carnitas burrito in half for my daughter and found 2 large bones. My other daughter, who ordered the carnitas quesadilla, found a bone as well. The carnitas itself had good flavor but an abundance of grease was an issue. The asada was pretty good and balanced with the beans and rice. The Langua had some spice to it and was flavorful and tender. The tomatillo and spicy sauce were great. The burritos were mislabeled on there boxes (asada was carnitas and vise versa). Pretty disappointed and hope this occurrence is not the norm.

Parking was a little tricky but o opted to park off street and walk. Looked like it was a popular spot. I ordered some tacos and waited maybe 10 minutes. The place itself is clean. There is a large menu on the wall and the ordering process was simple. Unfortunately, they did not have margaritas. The tacos were plated beautifully. Everything was fresh, I wish they were a little more flavorful. The sauces helped. My tripa tacos could have been less chewy. I also ordered lengua and it was by far the best. Their could have been a little more meat on all of them. They did have an option to do that for an additional fee. Tacos were priced at $2 each.

I was excited to go here as I had been meaning to visit for at least 6 months. I wasn't disappointed. This taqueria is the real deal, and very authentic. I also appreciate it's LGBTQ owned, and like to be inclusive in how I spend money. The tacos are amazing I had two there, and took two home. They were all delicious and not one disappointed. Their taco menu is very extensive, and it's nice that they have a lot of vegetarian options as well. One of my favorites was the one with mole ,and poblanos, also the chicken one, also the carnitas. Flavors so rich and satisfying. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. Extremely quick service which I love. Even though I only speak a little bit of Spanish. I tried, and they were very welcoming. They are fluent in Spanish. I knew it was an authentic taqueria when I heard a native spanish speaker speak Spanish at the counter. I don't want to leave out their drinks as they have quite a selection both alcoholic, and non alcoholic. I tried the horchata, which was amazing. I have been craving Pozole for a long time, and they had it as a special chicken with green sauce, and pork and a red sauce. Both simply amazing and a great deal. This restaurant is very reasonable, and you get quite a lot for the money. Last but not least I can't forget the ambiance which felt very authentic, and reminded me of being in a Taqueria in Mexico or Southern California. the place is decorated very thoughtful with a lot of candles, and many shrines. They also have a love of Mariah Carey and saw many photos of here in the restaurant. They have both outdoor seating and indoor seating. A lot of plants outside which all seem very happy and well cared for. I love this place, and will be going back for sure. The place is very casual which I appreciate. We almost didn't, because we have been let down so many times trying to get good Mexican food. Maybe that is the way to try out something new, with very low expectations. In this case, it really worked. We got chicken burritos. I confirm also that it is chicken breast, and it is grilled. Wow, it's crazy good chicken, so much flavor. This is as good or better than El Jefe. The burrito was large and I finished it all. I think they forgot to add in some of the things to have everything included but even with that it was still the best burrito we have had in PDX. I think it was missing cilantro, pickled onions, sour cream and maybe cheese and still it has so much flavor. Can you imagine how good it could be. We will be back. They use whole peruvian beans, that's a nice touch. Good salsa too. No Jamaica. It would be great to list the Beaverton loc on the website and list phone numbers. We really wanted to try it, but thought it was closed. I'd like everything to be hotter too. Everyone was friendly.
