Our Central AC would not run at the start of this warm season. I left it up to my wife and she hired FH Furr. All they did was replace a pump to the condensation drip line, which is a 40-50$ part at the store and any high school kid with a fish tank could install as these are the same pumps for some fish tanks. We were charge almost $600. Immediately following water was flowing out of our overflow discharge line and then weeks later, water was dripping from the ceiling. I am not cleaning out the lines and fixing the problem myself. My air conditioner technician didn't know what he was doing didn't make the repairs after installing man new parts then I was told I needed a new complete unit they they gave me a price for new unit they then couldn't get the unit so they installed a different model and charged me $ 10,000 for the installation when I asked the salesman if he thought I could do better somewhere else he said I wouldn't he lied now I found out I could get the same unit for $ $ 5,800 I wouldn't have let them do the installation but it was 100 degrees and they already had everything torn up!!!! read more

We requested a service call to replace our kitchen faucet. The technician arrived early and gave us an estimate for $435 to replace our faucet. We accepted the estimate and he completed the job in less than an hour. We are contractor members with this company and receive a 15% discount count for services rendered. That means if we were not members it would have cost $500 for faucet install. I also asked the technician the price to replace a bathroom faucet....he quoted me $330.... We accepted the estimate and paid the fee as the technician replace our refrigerator water filter. I think this fee was outrageous and excessive. We figured with the service call and the labor costs the bill should have been $250-300. This is my second over charge with Furr and my last. All their fees are excessive...we're done here.... Furr electrical inspection 6/20/25 I am actively looking for another provider. Furr has uncoordinated and uncaring schedulers. I had similar problems last year and earlier this year. I make appointments and Furr cancels/reschedules, usually the morning of the appointment. Note: I schedule months in advance because I am an out-of-town owner who makes special trips to attend servicings/inspections. Customer service reps assure me mine are unique experiences, but I have yet to have a good experience. The latest straw that broke my back: Scheduled for an electrical inspection between 8-10am. At 9am I called to check on schedule. Was told technician had some personal problems and I would be his first stop. By noon no technician and no calls. I called again and was told he had to take care of some electrical emergency call. I was next. At 12:30 I got a text that I would have a technician arrive between 1 and 1:30, but only if I responded YES within 10 minutes or else technician would move on to next customer. So, having waited almost 5 hours I had only 10 minutes to text back. Technician arrived at 1:15pm and sat in his truck for 20 minutes because it was raining. He was parked 10 feet from my front door. No shoes. Just dirty work boots. I had to ask him to put on shoe covers. Technician spent 15 minutes in house, then another 60 minutes back in truck before finishing up. He said he didn't want to get wet because he had to check an outside compressor. So, my servicing was all done by 3pm. A whole day old waiting around. read more

I understand why FH Furr gets less than a 2 star review. Their scheduling system is horrible. The staff confirms the appointment time and the automated scheduler has a different time. They won't even give you a time window until the night before. When i got the automated text the night before my appointment, I texted back R to reschedule as the time did not work. I am not going to block off my entire day. A nice agent called me the next morning and scheduled my service for the following afternoon. She sent me a text confirming an afternoon appointment. At 7am in the morning I received a text and an automated call, waking me up saying they were coming at 8am. I called HR Furr at 8am and spoke to Michelle who rescheduled me for the afternoon. Then during a meeting I received a text saying they were coming at 10:30. I had to call again. Someone needs to sort this out. Customer service has taken a nose dive since HR Furr took over! read more

Made 2 separate trips to have a Moen Flo valve installed in our condo in Ocean City, both times the technician didn't show up. The third time I received a text message at 7:40 am, "your technician is on the way, should be there in 30 minutes, didn't show up until 2:30pm. He started the install and said "If you want it done the right way, it will cost you $400 more than the price I quoted." How is that even remotely logical? He finished the install and put the valve before the main water shutoff, not after as the Moen instruction manual clearly states, The manager told me that is a suggestion, and not necessary. Very poor customer service, and even worse craftsmanship. Stay Away!!! read more

AC stopped working. Had been a customer of McGee that merged with FH Furr so I called them. Waited 12 hours for repairmen who quoted me a price of at least 4800 up to 15,000. Said they could expedite parts. I called another company and found out FHFurr was deceitful and tried to scam me A senior citizen who is female and single. The second company did the work within an hour and it cost me only 265.00 parts and labor. Didn't need a whole new system or a"bandaid". HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE company. We were with McGee plumbing for years. F.H. Furr bought McGee plumbing so we stayed with them. We have a yearly service agreement. One of our toilets was running so we called them to come out and fix the toilet. The insides of the toilet needed to be replaced. $275, expensive but we wanted to get the toilet fixed. The plumber that was sent out suggested that we replace the insides of our other toilet to be proactive so we agreed. Several days later, the toilet that never had any issues started leaking. We called F.H. Furr to send a plumber back out to see what the issue was. The tank was cracked. Again, never had an issue until the plumber with F.H. Furr touched the toilet. They wanted $1,100 to replace the toilet. Wow!! That is a ridiculous price. Spoke with the manager at F.H. Furr who told us that the fracture in the tank happens. I have had many toilets in many homes and never had an issue. Once their plumber started working on it had a problem. Went to Home Depot and replaced the toilet and installed with a Kohler toilet for $473. I would use any other plumber besides this company. It is a shame I had to give them one star. A zero star would be more accurate!! read more

1 star We hired FH Furr to convert from an electric to a gas stove. The plumber arrived, but informed my husband he needed to get additional supplies and would return, which he did not, He did not return as scheduled the next business day. He returned a week later to complete the job. The electrician completed his part but left a large outlet box on the kitchen floor so the stove could not be pushed against the wall. We smelled propane in the kitchen right away and the plumber told us it would dissipate, but it persisted all weekend. We requested another visit, and the plumber who arrived said he found a small leak behind the stove, which he claimed to have fixed. At no point did anyone inspect the area beneath the house. Despite his assurances, the smell of propane returned by the end of the day. Concerned for our safety, we shut off the gas to the stove and called the fire department, who advised us that turning off the gas was the correct course of action. Not feeling safe or confident in FH Furr's work, we contacted our propane supplier, who conducted a thorough inspection. They found that the gas line installation had been done incorrectly and deemed the situation dangerous. The propane company had to redo the entire job to ensure the safety of our home and family. When I called FH Furr's management to report this serious issue, the manager merely defended the plumber, stating he was a master plumber and had never received complaints about him. He offered no apology, showed no concern for our safety, and failed to follow up despite multiple attempts on my part. Ultimately, I sent a voicemail to inform him that I would be reporting this incident and leaving an honest review of our experience. In conclusion, I believe FH Furr demonstrated gross negligence in both the execution of their work and their handling of our safety concerns. The lack of accountability, poor communication, and substandard workmanship have eroded any trust I had in the company. read more

Well I really wish I would have read the reviews before contacting this company. A simple fix has turned into a nightmare that is about to become a civil court issue. The tech unhooked the water line from the toilet, noticed that the valve didn't stop the water completely. He then decided to cover it with paper towels like Adam sandler in big daddy and then not mention a word to me. Was told I had to put grout around the toilet so it should stay off until that happens. Next morning there is water damage on the ceiling in the kitchen from the water the tech left running. The tech came back out 2 days later, took photos, said it's in his bosses hands and that he will call me by 3pm, this was a Friday. It's now a week after the incident and im STILL WAITING for that call from the boss as the water damage continues to sit in my ceiling. I did call in on tuesday and requested a update, which i was transferred to the supervisors cell and was sent to voice mail. So i left a message, a lot of good that did, 3 days later and still....no call. They have until tomorrow before the courts get involved. Also even with all this, stupid crazy prices. Stay. Away. Over $700 to take off 4 heating elements from 2 hot water heaters?!? The only reason I called a plumber was that I couldn't get the nut loose (I'm a 66 yr old woman). All it takes to change a hot water heater element is loosen 1 nut and attach 2 clearly marked wires. I had drained the tank and provided the parts and STILL over $700!! The plumber initially tried to sell me 2 new hot water tanks - we declined as they were relatively new & in great condition- then he said he should replace the thermostats for another $400+ while he was there as 'they would probably fail' and we would have another trip charge. After he left, without flushing the system and testing everything, we discovered we had an over abundance of dirty water to be drained, as well as air in the lines. And, such a coincidence! The thermostat on both tanks decided to die shortly after he left. I went to the hardware store and purchased thermostats for both the tanks for a total of $40 and installed them myself. Super simple job. We had used McGee's in the past and had called their number for the service. It appears this company has taken over McGee's. Not only are the prices highway robbery but the service is deplorable. I still question the timing of both thermostats dying shortly after he left . read more

BEWARE of accepting recommended work from F.H. Furr. I have had a maintenance contract with F.H Furr for 2 years but am now cancelling it, after being ripped off on their recent visit. The routine inspection showed everything was working correctly, but the maintenance tech said I had some mold in the inside units and rust in the outside units. He recommended they be cleaned and showed me a contract on an iPad which I initialed without reading. I thought this was a major job and they would schedule an appointment for the work, but the tech asked if I wanted him to start right away. He finished the job in about 1-1/2 hours. The total charge for this 1-1/2 hours work (including a surge protector which was the only part) was $3,820. I told the tech I thought this charge was exorbitant and he replied that the amount was what F.H. Furr charged. I have called company on 4 separate days to discuss this, but no one has ever taken my call or called me back. read more

I called FH Furr for a new HVAC system, to replace the aging propane system to a new electrical system, and upgrade my home to a 200 amp service. FH Furr sent David Gardner to review my property and provide a reasonable and complete proposal. I accepted the proposal, as it was a fair price. FH Furr then sent quality, qualified professionals to perform each stage of the project. They coordinated with DEC for the electric service upgrade, and Barry Savage installed the new power service cable, the new meter and shutoff, and pwer cable to the home. Scott replaced the electrical panel in my home, as the old one was maxxed out, and he and Barry installed the new power cable hookups. Later, Albert Carracino and co-worker Nick came to install the new outdoor HVAC unti, and the new indoor HVAC units. They each worked on their seperate tasks, and together to finalize the install of those parts. Then Barry Savage returned to install the final wiring to the new units and new wiring for my new stove. All in all, I could not be happier! FH Furr is a professional team of quality, licenced technicians. They showed up on time, as scheduled, and performed their installs with organized efficiency, and even cleaned up completely afterwards. Nothing was jury-rigged, or half-done, or cut corners. By way of introduction, I live in Baltimore County but have a property in Bethany Beach, DE. Here is my saga that explains why I strongly recommend you avoid dealing with the F. H. Furr company; Saturday, June 1, 2024 I call Furr to request a service call to help me complete the installation of my outdoor shower in Bethany. Was told it was too late for a service call that afternoon but that it could be scheduled for a later Saturday. We agree on Saturday, June 15. Friday, June 14, 2024 Because it is a 3-hour drive from my home in Maryland to Bethany Beach (and because the cost of gasoline and tolls for the one-way trip is about $40), I call Furr before departing Maryland at 11:16 AM to make sure that I am still on the schedule for a service call the next day. I am assured that the appointment is in the books and that I can expect a phone call either later that afternoon or else Saturday morning with an ETA for the technician. Saturday, June 15, 2024 Not yet having heard from Furr with an ETA, I call them again at 1:35 PM. I am informed that I am still to expect the technician and that I would receive either an email or a phone call to inform me of the ETA. The Furr representative double-checks with me to make certain she has my correct email address. She does. Not yet having heard from Furr with an ETA, I call them again at 3:02 PM. This time I am informed by a gentleman at Furr that I am NOT scheduled for an appointment this day because Furr never schedules service calls of a non-emergency nature on weekends. WHAT? WHAT? Are you kidding me? What about the information I received during my previous three calls? What about this blurb that I have copied and pasted from the Furr website: To Get Absolutely The Best Service, Service 7 Days Per Week! This is just simply unacceptable. Unprofessional. Unconscionable. Perhaps an hour after that phone call ends, I receive a call from Furr, asking how things are going. I give the female representative a piece of my mind, explaining to her exactly what I have described above. She tells me that she will attempt to secure a $75 coupon towards my next service call. But here's the thing: I can only get to Bethany on weekends and, since Furr doesn't make service calls on weekends, what good would a $75 coupon do? Sunday, June 16, 2024 It's Father's Day and so I depart Bethany for Baltimore to spend the day with my daughter. This will require another 3 hours on the road and another $40 or so expenditure on my part. So far I am out 6 hours of my life and about $80 of my money. Upon arriving in Baltimore I note that I have a voicemail message from Furr asking me to return the call. But it's Father's Day. It's Sunday. And I am not inclined to spend any more of the time I may have left dealing with this absurd situation. For more than half a year I have been paying Furr $13.95 monthly to be considered a member of the so-called Preferred Partners Plan which I was under the impression entitled me to priority service. I have now learned that not only have I not purchased priority service, I am unable to obtain service at all. $13.95 a month. It seems to me that any fair-minded person would agree with me that F. H. I asked how much and he had to call the office. came back with a price and performed work. Water was warm after his work and I asked him how much for a new unit. He had to call the office again and quoted me a price of 4500.00. on a unit that was already plumbed in and vented. I said goodbye after a charge of 475.00 , which he had to call the office again. I am a premier member of FH Furr and was floored when recently I called to have tech come out to deal with a leaky kitchen faucet. the tech and I discussed replacing it and an estimate that I was given was for $1105!!!!! not sure what this company is doing, however, my concern is it they are targeting seniors, and people that are just unaware of the cost of having a traditional faucet replaced. I bought a faucet off of Amazon for $96 and had another Plumber install it for $100. Buyer beware of this company. read more

GO ELSEWHERE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. I have a less than one-year old on-demand hot water tank and a less than one-year old heat pump and furnace that was installed by Red Dog. Red Dog did an excellent job. Shortly after this, Red Dog was purchased by FH Furr. I had a service agreement for maintenance/check up. Anyway, service person shows up to service my on demand hot water tank. Right away tells me it's $218 for the flush! Told him I had a maintenance contract. He wanted me to sign an agreement that if HE breaks something while doing the service, FH Furr is not responsible for any damage they do! ABSOLUTELY NUTS! Basically, if they are incompetent, it's not their responsibility or problem. I told the service person to not perform any work at all. I canceled my HVAC maintenance check up with them too. READ THE REVIEWS ON YELP AND OTHER SITES. They only want to sell you upgrades and things you don't need. I'm done with FH Furr. read more

This company is the worst. 3 weeks ago i called them because my AC was not working. they sold me a maintenance agreement and the technician came pretty fast. The technician said that my system has a leak and it could cost me alot of money for him to find it. i said ok he said that it would be better and cheaper for him to fill the AC with freon and if that didn hold long he would come back and check for the leak. Well my AC only lasted 3 weeks and stopped working I called company and they said that I would have a technician out Sunday before 12:00 that never happened I call all day to fond out when someone was coming finally around 5:30 I got notification the technician was on his way never showed up. Got a call for Service manager who first told me the technician refused to come to my home because I didn't pay him I told him that was a lie and said I have my credit card statement to prove it he said sorry I see you did pay but the technician still refused to come out and he would send someone else in the morning well no one showed up and no call backs. you have been warned do not use this company Red dog was much better.
