Wish I could give 0 stars. Eastern Air apparently does not want new business. So, I will go elsewhere. I have left many, many messages at 302-604-8288. No one has ever returned a call. One time "John" answered and I told him I was interested in an HVAC maintenance and service contract. He rattled off some numbers and promised to email them to me that night. Never got anything. I then called that number over and over, leaving messages that again were never returned. Finally, a woman answered and explained that she was in a front office and could give me no info (??) about service contracts, but she said if I called 800-921-0392 an answering service would take a message and forward to someone who would call back. She also promised me that John would send me the promised info that day. Not. So I called the 800 number and left a message for someone to please call me. Nothing. I give up. Too many other HVAC companies that care. I wonder how if they respond to customers needing emergency service. read more

I feel compelled to write a review both positive and negative aspects with Eastern Air Services. Our June 2024 mini split install in our beach place couldn't have gone better as completed on schedule and in a timely manner. For the first full year all was well, however, their customer service has gone downhill to the point we are unable to get anyone to return our multiple calls or text message to home office,800 or to John or Ed. We are still waiting for a call back from Kristen from 9/8/25. She did answer but needed to call me right back to schedule a fall service and sensor replacement( sensor back ordered from 7/25/25 service call). Beware as this is no way to run a business. read more

They came out to evaluate our HVAC system, but never gave us a quote on what was wrong or what they would recommend. They promised an email and all I got was crickets. So no follow through was my problem with them. I was glad they came out, so I gave them 3 stars, but never heard from them after their initial visit. We had them install 4 mini splits at three locations. For the last two it was a swap out to move equipment that we bought from them to another location. They showed up and said they would send quotes but instead won't return our calls and took our $6k system we bought from them two years ago. Check BBB too, someone else had a bad experience. Makes no sense because we own several properties and they were our go to. read more

Our air went out called Eastern Air on Wednesday and John came out the same day. Looked at our unit and determined needed new unit which is what we were sure was needed because our old unit is over 30 years old. Gave us a great price with a good warranty. Honestly, I don't even remember reaching out to this company, because my brain has been fried since my AC blew out. They called to schedule a service call before I was even done calling around to see who was available. Much to our delight, they said they would be here within the hour. I started brushing my teeth and washing my face so I could be presentable, and the service man was here before I was even done! He immediately diagnosed my problem, which was a broken capacitor, and he had it fixed within 5 minutes. The price didn't even break my back. It was much less than I anticipated. I wish I knew the repairman's name. He was super friendly and trustworthy. I feel like I won today, which is why I am giving Eastern Air 5 stars. Thank you so much! My house is cooling down. Eastern Air installed my system approx. 3yrs. ago. Woke up this am to 75° even though thermostat was set for 71°. Set it down to 70° and temp. went up to 76°. Called E.A. And they showed up in about an hour. Turns out there was a loose wire on the computer board for the second floor zone. The tech repaired the wire ( not part of their installation). The system is still under warranty and they took care of the builder's shoddy electric work at no charge. I deal with a lot of contractors and this kind of service is extremely rare in lower Delaware. read more

STAY AWAY, ESPECIALLY IF THIS ISN'T YOUR PRIMARY RESIDENCE. We had 2 units installed by Eastern and added the service contract same day as install so no one else ever worked on the units. One of the wires came out somehow (but was probably installed wrong) and flooded the water catch bin. It leaked through into our living room and destroyed the ceiling. This is second home so we weren't there when it happened. No one ever bothered telling us this happened until the next time we were there and noticed the very large water stains and sinking ceiling in our living room. When we called they sent the installer there and he admitted what had happened and told us to call the head of the company. Although we were annoyed by the fact no one told us this had happened - we thought "well at least he is admitting it and we can get this fixed." OH HOW WE WERE WRONG. We have called the company DAILY, sometimes multiple times a day and emailed them for over a month with NO RESPONSE. We have the repair guy ready to do the work and shockingly it isn't even that expensive and they are UNWILLING to call us back. They know all of this because we've left over 30 messages and even spoken to the lady that answers the phone who just keeps saying she can't help us, the owner needs to speak to us and he NEVER has called us back and now they don't even answer when we call. BE VERY AWARE. They may have good prices but they do NOT live up to their moto of being "top-notch" or "reliable" when something goes wrong....they run and hide. It's unreal that a company would operate this way. They've ADMITTED that the leaking water was a result of their wire coming loose that they were supposed to be maintaining and they won't stand behind the mistake. unreal. I called Eastern Air for a quote on installation of a complete heat and air conditioning system in our condo in Ocean City. Price was in line with other companies and John seemed dependable. Installation was completed Dec 2020. Contract included two years of service which was a spring and fall checkup. The following spring (2021), I called for a checkup and Eastern Air did the checkup. The following fall (2021) I called twice and left a message to set up the checkup. I did not get a return call so no checkup. Spring of 2022, I called Eastern Air eight workdays in a row and left a message for the checkup. As of today (Jun 30, 2022) I have still not gotten a response from Eastern Air. Now I'm paying a different HVAC company to do the inspections which I have already paid Eastern Air to do. Installation was very satisfactory but after that they won't even return my calls. read more

My wife called Eastern Air after reading their reviews on Yelp. She has a condo in Rehoboth Beach. She got a call from the renters on the Friday evening of Memorial day weekend saying the AC was not working. We figured it would be impossible to get someone there on Memorial Day weekend to look at it, but when she spoke with John, he said he could get someone out to look at it the next day. They came out as promised on Saturday, and tried to revive the old system. Despite their best efforts, the system was dead. As you can imagine, their schedule was quite busy with the summer season getting started, but they adjusted their schedule to get our system replaced within a few days so we would not be without AC. On top of the great service, their price was very competitive. John even texted me a few pictures of the installation when they were done. This was helpful because we live several hours away, and we might not make it down there for several weeks. read more

100% would recommend! Our air conditioner stopped turning on in the middle of summer and obviously we needed a quick repair. We contacted a different company (Service today) because we thought the service would be quick, and it was a nightmare. They quoted us one price, then raised it when we spoke to them again. They then tried to sell us a whole new AC system for 6-15 thousand dollars, all while we were sitting for 4 days without AC waiting for them to get the part. Not trusting that company any more, I sent a message to Eastern Air Services through yelp for a quote/second opinion and they responded within a hour. When we said we wanted them to come out, they came the same day and performed the repair within an hour, for half of the price the other company wanted. Eastern Air really saved our bacon, their service was quick, easy, and very reasonably priced. We would 100% use them again for any future issues and will be recommending them to our friends/family. read more

I called them to fix a faulty gas valve on my unit last early spring at my beach house. The technician came and he said that it would not be worth it to replace the valve as my heat exchanger had rusted out. He then showed me on the remote video probe of what he was talking about. Instead of trying to sell me on a new unit, he said the weather is getting warmer and the A/C is fine, you can wait till fall to replace it. That kind of honesty is very rare these days. We had another follow up appointment when the unit was having trouble and they came out the next day, changed out a valve cover and got everything back up and running again quickly. I used Eastern Air Services to replace my heat pump/AC unit at my condo in Rehoboth. After getting a quote from a different company, Eastern was almost 1/2 the price but showed way more knowledge of my condo's layout (e.g. talking about units they've removed from small spaces like that before.) The crew to remove/replace the unit was on time, friendly, and left my condo so clean it looked like no work had been done. The office staff was always friendly and responsive, and I love that I have a 2 year maintenance contract included in the price of installation. No return phone call at all after 24 hours. So much for there 24 hour emergency service. I. called First Class and they are coming out the same day. Recently called Eastern over the Memorial Day weekend. I called other places and their prices were completely absurd to just come out for a diagnostic. One guy was charging me 300 to just come out since it was a holiday weekend! And that's not even to repair my AC unit!! Eastern Air charged a reasonable diagnostic price and came out Sunday and didn't even mention it was a Holiday weekend. Ed was the technician who came out and was honest and gave us a few options. Very reasonable options and breakdown of costs. We were surprised at the repair cost being so reasonable with plenty of knowledge to back it up. Super friendly and extremely professional. Not once did I question his work. He found out we had a leak in the refrigerant causing unit to ice up, and freon was leaking out so he sealed it and added in additional freon. Let's just say the repair, labor and diagnostic came out to be less than the other guy for just coming out! Please do go with Eastern as the other guys may attempt to overcharge you. I'm not going to say they will try to rip you off, but sure smelled funny! Also, we found that the repair did not work and simply called back their 24 hour line and he called back immediately. He gave me some advice on how to resolve the issue temporarily as he came first thing at 8:30am next morning as he promised. Prompt service, honest and direct analysis of the problem and reasonable pricing gives this place my utmost highest rating and praise! Saved us this hot weekend! the best HVAC company in Southern Delaware After having a sudden AC shutdown at the family beach house in Bethany Beach / Ocean View area, I tried in vain all day to get multiple companies to call me back before then after hours. I found this Yelp entry and called - the President of the company Mr. John Sullivan picked up the phone at 745pm. He graciously listened to and understood my situation of having guests at our house for the week while i was back in DC for the work week when I stated I wanted to have 'next day' service versus having a late night at the house after a tiring hot day for them. John stated he would squeeze in a visit prior to his first job of the next day to save me the emergency after hours service rate. John arrived exactly 15 minutes prior to the time he stated he believed he would, and called me to indicate the issue was exactly as he surmised the evening prior when we set up the appointment. John performed a full inspection both units in the house and topped off the working fluid in them, using his wisdom of doing HVAC 24/7 to ensure all was good. He seamlessly accepted my credit card data to allow me to pay via my phone call. He included a 10% discount for the service that was VERY REASONABLY PRICED for such comprehensive service. He called me back upon his completion of the effort to confirm the price as i told him to just 'do whatever is needed' and he clearly explained exactly what he did for the services rendered / material provided. My being a home owner (and rocket scientist) I understood exactly what he did and it showed me he has the integrity and professionalism so rare in the World today. I immediately found via phone John is the nicest, most honest, most knowledgeable HVAC expert I've ever met; my beach house guests confirmed in person he is the nicest, most professional, courteous contractor in person also. He indicated in his confirming call to me upon close-out of the job that he placed phone number decals on the units for ready reference. I had an issue with my home builder supplied split HVAC system. It failed under 5 years. Not worth repairing. So I called the HVAC company that had been servicing my homes main system HVAC, also recommended by my builder. They came out and looked at the problem, then charged me $110. They said someone from their office would call me back within 24 hours. 3 days went past without a word. Actually they never called me back. So I called Eastern HVAC. Spoke to John. These guys came right over and gave me an estimate within 24 hours. 4 days later they installed the new unit. They were very professional and there price was in line. The one company mentioned on both was Eastern Air Services (443-695-2696). I left a message late on Thursday and the next morning spoke to John when he returned my call. (I had called two other places, but John asked me the most pertinent questions about the unit and had the most insight into what might be needed.) Two repairmen came later that day (in the time window they said they would), Paul and his assistant Kevin. They analyzed and fixed our problems quickly, efficiently and professionally. We had an excellent experience with Eastern Air Services. My wife and I own a condo in the Flying Cloud (94th Street, Ocean City) and had tenants in the unit when the air conditioner broke on a Monday night. I Googled a few companies and eventually found Airmasters. I got Airmasters to come out and assess the situation around 9:30am on Tuesday morning. They said the unit was 14 years old and the air handler was broken. They said they could replace the air handler for $800 or the entire chassis for $3800. (This unit is an Armstrong MagicPack style unit - all in one, with a replaceable chassis that houses the air handler and compressor, but not the heating elements). They said I should do the full chassis due to the unit's age and the fact that the salt air is rough on these units. I asked Airmasters to give me a detailed write-up for what they would do because I wanted to shop it around. Airmasters said they wouldn't be able to do the work until the next morning, and it was one of the hottest days of the year - so I was really hoping to find a reasonably priced contractor that could do the work same day. A friend recommended Eastern Air based on a good experience she had had in her unit, so I called them next (this was at around 11:00am). I told them the model number that Airmasters had quoted me, and they quickly worked up a quote and called me back in 15 minutes. Eastern was willing to do the chassis for $2,870 - $930 cheaper than Airmasters. (Airmasters did, however, include their HVAC maintenance policy which is valued at $180 ... so really Eastern was $750 cheaper net -- and I still had to pay Airmasters their $90 diagnostic fee - so total savings was $660 -- but still not chump change.) But the really great part was that Eastern was able to come out to the unit immediately that day and install the new chassis. The air was on for our tenants by 3:00pm on Tuesday - less than 24 hours after the break - and our tenants' vacation was saved. Really please with Eastern Air's service on this. I felt they were fairly priced, fast, and very respectful of our tenants. That was a huge plus and it saved me a lot of heartache, since I was located 3 hours away when this repair took place. read more
