The pricing was fair and reasonable. Rob, the owner, was very responsive and courteous responding to our inquiry. James arrived about 15 min past the estimated time of arrival. James finished within the expected time. He was pleasant, efficient and completed the job which had been abandoned by the previous handyman. J&J was responsive and just simply a pleasure to deal with. For the record before this incident I praised and loved working with Jenn and James as they were easy to work with and the prices were fair and they were nice to talk with I had used them for multiple jobs including a step railing repair/a garage storage rack repair that another company SRO2 installed totally wrong/We had them come and install exhaust vent covers to keep birds out/We had them fix some trim molding in our master bedroom so you can see we used them more than once as a repeat loyal customer I was. My mother in law decided she wanted to sell her home and some work needed to be done to the back deck who else would I call besides J&J Handyman and Services, I spoke with Jenn over multiple text which I will upload and I asked for James to come out to give me a quote they decided pictures would be ok so I sent pictures and videos and texted the work that was needed and we confirmed a price of $475.00 plus I pay for materials. Well the day of work comes and James comes out and tells me basically the price I was given by his wife and co owner Jenn was wrong!!! and that he could save us money by doing a better repair of the deck I agreed and he went to lowes and I paid for the materials over the phone, James returned to start the work and I left him be and I went back to work. Well I had not heard anything from James or gotten any photos stating he was done with the job, upon arrival back at the home I saw a little pile of trash and rotted wood that James had left and then found out that they charged my mother in law $414.00 for way less work!!! how is this a savings I texted James about my disastifaction with this job and the price and asked could either him or Jenn give me a call? NOPE!!! his response was his reasoning for the job he did and the cost it would have took to do it the way I thought we had agreed on, I replied with along message to James stating basically that we had a deal and as a repeat customer I deserved better and for the fact that I was trying to give them family referrals, well that was the last that I heard from Jenn and James about the situation, I am disapointed that I lost a good Contractor due to this incident as I have a ton of upgrades planned for our home and my mother in law always has a list of work that needs to be done. I have uploaded the photos of the conversations and the before and after photos now show me 414.00 worth of labor when I was a repeat customer plus I paid for the material the worst part like I have mentioned is they ain't reach out to me to try and make it right and now I have lost an amazing contractor!!!

I made sure that the Owner knew exactly which materials were to be used for this job. I asked him…read moremany times if he was experienced painting with high gloss. He came in person and looked at everything prior to writing the quote. I pointed out the amount of drywall and other prep that would be needed. I was general, not specific, since he claimed to be very experienced and knowledgeable. I was told to purchase 8 gallons of wall paint. I use expensive paint, so it cost me a lot of money. They only used about 2 gallons! They did not prep the walls or trim properly, they did not properly protect my new LVT flooring (they stained it) or any of my furniture or belongings, they did not fill nail holes prior to painting, they did not caulk, they did not prime and/or paint everything we agreed on, they did not apply 2 coats of paint after priming, they did not use the extender as needed with the gloss causing brush and roller marks and it to tack up, they did not sand everything, they did not clean up the massive amounts of dust left covering everything by the little sanding they actually did, they refused to leave the door open while painting so the a/c could get in to cool the room and lower the humidity necessary for proper curing, causing the humidity to rise above 70% in that room, they actively attempted to keep me out of the rooms, so that I wouldn't see what they were doing and not doing, they lied about what I asked to be done even though it was in the contract. They blamed me, the drywall, the wood, the carpenter; they blamed everything and everyone else and took no responsibility. They told me to replace my brand new doors, frames, shelving with a different wood so it would be less prep work for them to paint. They made no effort to contact anyone to fix my flooring. They got mad when I told them I needed it fixed in whichever way would not void my warranty, so I had to wait for the authorized installer to return my call. Without my knowledge, they attempted to clean the floor with an abrasive Magic Eraser sponge and a scrub brush. They refused to do a walkthrough or punch list, and they refused to return accusing me of demanding perfection. They requested payment several times immediately after telling me they would not finish. I now have to get quotes to fix and finish the prep and paint, and a quote to repair or replace my floors. I have lots of pics and videos. I'll see how many this will permit me to upload - only 20
