I called to get an estimate for My 3 bedrooms and possible outdoor sun porch. The guy came in with one board of outdoor carpet samples. He measured the sun porch and said - he had another client and had to go. I said what abt the bedrooms, the reason I called. He said- oh I have another client waiting. But he did measure the bedrooms - quickly. Idk if they were correct measurements. Then he said I will have to make another appointment And bring I. Those carpet samples another time or send you a quote for medium grade carpet tomorrow. Well, that was Tuesday and it's the end of the week. Excellent experience! The sales person listened to what we wanted, made good suggestions, didn't try to oversell us. He was on time for the appointment, and was pleasant to work with. We got a very nice grade of carpet with upgraded padding. Seemed a little pricey, but I didn't compare so I can't really say relative to other companies. We were told we'd get a call in about 2 weeks when the carpet came in. It only took a week and a half. The installers were on time. We were told the install would take about 6 hours but it only took 4. Everything was completely cleaned up, furniture put back in its place, old carpet taken away. Then when he entered the house my husband introduced us and we shook hands. He proceeded to say "Oh, so we have to wear masks but you'll shake my hand." Great guy and GREAT QUICK SERVICE! We had our dog tear up a small section of carpet and luckily Matt the Carpet Guy came out less than a week after we called him. His repair was first class and the ONLY way you know where the repair was is that the swatch of carpet we gave him to do the repair was a little cleaner.....that won't last since the area is just outside our kitchen. They eventually came down to slightly less than what Matt charged, but they had lost my trust by that point. Last Friday, we realized that we were caught in a crazy time crunch, and we absolutely had to get new carpet in our Ocean City condo the following Monday. My husband confidently told me that it would never happen. I called Matt the Carpet Guy because of his excellent Yelp reviews -- and immediately began to see how he earned those great reviews. Matt listened to what my problem was and cheerfully told me that he is not only Matt the Carpet Guy -- he is also Matt the Magician -- and there would be no problem with getting carpet installed on Monday. Half an hour later, he was knocking on our door with carpet samples. He quickly went over the pros and cons of the different samples, did very efficient measuring of our rooms, and told us we could save money by using our existing tack strips and pad. He reassured my still disbelieving husband that everything would be done on Monday -- and it wouldn't even take the whole day. Half an hour after he knocked on our door, he was on his way, with everything in place for new carpet installation on Monday. Monday morning, Kevin, Alex, and King James V arrived and immediately got to work, asking only that we stay out of the way. Watching them work was like watching fine choreography.
