We started with the dumplings and the bang bang shrimp -- both yummy. The dumplings were soft but also had a little crisp and had an awesome savory flavor. I finally got to try this place out. Everything here was delicious. Their sushi was fresh and delicious, it just melts in your mouth. I didn't order any alcohol because I'm the designated driver but my friend said that they make really good cocktails here. The service was very good, attentive and friendly. Fudo is a very attractive, well-run restaurant. Our waiter, Jay, was excellent and very helpful. We started off with some Shumai and Tori Karaaage. The Shumai was good and the Tori Karaage was excellent with the spicy dipping sauce. I followed that up with some miso soup and a house salad. The soup was okay. The salad was good. I next got a Double Dragon Roll, which I enjoyed. My dining partners got different rolls and said they enjoyed them. To me, the Tori Karaage was the best thing I got, but the quality of everything was obvious. I'm not the biggest fan of Japanese food, but this place was pretty good and if you like sushi and sashimi and other Japanese dishes, this is a good place to go. read more

I was excited to dine here. I was not impressed. I was seated at the bar. Not an overly comfortable place to sit for a person with bad knees. I started with the spicy edamame. Warning to the reader- it is served hot and in a damp chili sauce that forced me to chase the pods around a little bowl. In my head, I was expecting the beans to have a dry flavoring on them that would require fewer napkins. The sushi (tuna and salmon) was ok but my shrimp tempura roll was a dud. The issue being- I had a front row seat to the process while at the bar- that there were fried items prepared ahead of time placed in a makeshift heated situation behind the sushi making station therefore the shrimp was cold and not tasty. The shortcut was a poor choice and impacted the food quality. Lastly, the restaurant shunned disposable wooden chopsticks and went with metal, reusable utensils. I applaud the salute to the environment but it was like applying jello to a wall with a stapler. The greeting from the host's table was a bit dry, and it took a while for our food to be served, but it was busy so I get it. We ordered several rolls, and some sashimi. I really enjoyed my meal at Fudo! What a great sushi spot in metro Atlanta that is reasonably priced and has lots of options to keep you coming back. I went on a random thursday night and my boyfriend and I thought "surely we won't need reservations" - wrong. Make your reservations! Fudo was poppin and a table for 2 took about 30 minutes. The interior is modern and dimly lit - a great spot for a date night, but because of how crowded it was, it was a bit loud. I loved looking at all their roll options and our server (Grace) was super helpful in pointing out some of the most popular rolls of each kind. I went with the Fantasy roll and it was exactly what I was looking for - if you love shrimp tempura rolls, this one's for you. My boyfriend, a hardcore LOTR fan, got the LOTR roll - though expensive, it was good too! Loved the flavor of the wagyu on top. Especially for the Fantasy roll, I was super impressed with how many pieces it comes with for a very fair price point ($18). We shared a small plate of brussels which were good! A former co-worker of mine lives in Atlanta and suggested we meet for lunch at his favorite sushi bar: Fudo. Fudo is a top tier sushi spot. From what I hear, it's packed all the time. So reservations are suggested. The menu offers an enormous variety of quality sushi and 50 specialty rolls. The biggest challenge is deciding what to order! We started with the Dumpling Soup with wontons and scallions, followed by Tori Karaage (also called Japanese Fried Chicken). Both were great. Since we both like tuna with some heat, we ordered three different rolls: Star is Born Roll, Spicy Mega Tuna Roll and Spicy Tuna On The Rock Roll. All packed great flavor, were good size portions and artfully displayed. We were filled after this feast. Probably the only negative was the service. It seemed to take forever to get our order placed and the food served. Since my friend is a regular, he suspected they were short on help. The restaurant was full at Noon on a Friday. Wish we had a few more diners so we could have tried more menu items. We'll make that a priority for our next visit. read more

I'm soooo glad I found this sushi spot. Before I get into the restaurant and food. If you are going on a weekend evening, parking is challenging. I recommend doing ride share or parking at the garages across the mini bridge within the complex. The sushi bar seating to me is the best spot(I may regret saying that). The menu is stacked with some very unique sushi options. I thoroughly enjoy a generous selection of sushi. I mean, if you don't have a boat you're not doing it right ‍. I had the B.T.S, Mamma Mia, Venom, Red carpet, and Smoky Delicacy. The B.T.S was a revelation Bulgogi sush w/ Fried Kimchi on top! The flavors were ridiculous this is a must for all and those not yet inducted into the sushi life. My second favorite was the Mama Mia very good and flavorful, the Shrimp, scallops and mountain of topped goodies is more than enough to fill you up. I've seen ATL-based professional athletes eating here, and I've never seen the restaurant at a slow moment. I totally get the hype for this place. It is fantastic. They have a huge menu of rolls, so we decided to try a few, and I was so impressed with what we got. The bumble bee roll was perfect, the shrimp tempura inside was crispy, and the yuzu sauce on top was a great addition. I also loved the crab salad on top and loved that it wasn't cold, so it went well with the warm shrimp. We also tried one of their fried rolls and that was perfect. You can taste the quality of the fish. The hand roll was good, too, and a great option if you don't want a traditional roll. The spring rolls were good, but I wish they had a dipping sauce with them. The service was great, and our server was super helpful with answering any questions we had. It is a little dark inside, so be prepared to use your phone's flashlight if you need to. Really great sushi here! I ordered the X Men and the Double Dragon, shumai for apps and the lychee martini. The martini was perfectly sweet to mask the strong alcohol and tasted really good. The shumai was 5 servings and smaller than standard dim sum. It came with a mustard dip which I was hesitant to try since I'm not big on mustard and it paired perfectly. The sushi's, the X Men was delicious and the Double Dragon right behind it. The atmosphere was nice, dark, city loft feeling and many servers coming by to make sure our waters were filled. This is a corner spot off of the main Street. You can't miss it! It's the start of a shopping center. It has free parking and that parking is covered and uncovered. There is a full bar there, so you can sit there if you don't want to sit at a table. They also have a bar top that is sitting at the sushi station, so you have options. They have plenty of table seating, so I don't want to make it sound like there is nothing but bar seats lol. You come in the door and there is a greeter station (of which they are very nice and swift on seating). They have a decent ambience, it's a little dim and has classical music playing on the background. You could probably see it as a potentially decent date night since that is the vibe it gives off. But it isn't super quiet so if you want silence for your date, that isn't it lol. Brussel sprouts - was pretty small as far as portion but had a great taste. It had a good sweet tang to it and came looking very appealing. Hot gossip - pretty solid sushi roll Euphoria - also a pretty good roll, they did pretty good presentation and everything! They never let my water get lower than half full, as someone who is constantly asking for water this was a really nice touch. We started off with the dynamite shrimp and the beef dumplings. I couldn't tell you which one I loved more. The dumplings were savory, and delicious dumplings. Exactly what you look for when you order some. The dynamite shrimp, while also savory, was a tiny bit sweet as well. It was a little saucy but not too much. The spice level was also perfect. It wasn't too spicy but seasoned enough to have a nice flavor. Since it was our first time there, we asked the server which roles are the most popular. Off of the list she named we chose A star is born and Star Wars. They're both so delicious! Star Wars is a cooked roll. It's savory and warm with a little bit of spice. It has chili oil on it which made it really stand out to us. However, if I had to pick a favorite it would be A Star is born. This one is a raw roll but it was so fresh! I loved it!
