Okay, don't judge but coming from San Francisco (aka sushi heaven), I was a little hesitant about trying MF Sushi. That said, locals recommended it, and I usually love sushi as a post-flight meal since it's light and fresh. The ambiance is dreamy, and I really appreciated the attentive service and bar seating. I ordered an avocado ball with caviar and spicy tuna, which was lovely and beautifully plated. I'd also seen a foodie Instagrammer mention their off-menu crispy rice rolls, so I gave those a try. Unfortunately, they fell a bit flat for me. I ended up adding a lot of soy sauce since they sincerely lacked flavor. When the bill came, I realized this probably wasn't the best choice for a quick, light meal. The prices were comparable to California, but the quality didn't quite match. That said, the person sitting next to me mentioned she visits often and felt that the night was a bit off, so I'd be open to giving it another try next time I'm in town. read more

We came hungry! We got an assortment of rolls, cod, baked lobster and the yellowtail carpaccio. The yellowtail and jalapeño was so refreshing and we could definitely taste the yuzu! The lobster sauce was so so good and addicting! I would say the tempura was just a little soggy and oily but still good sauce. The rolls were all so good and fresh! My favorite was definitely the otoro ! The rice was the perfect amount too! The otoro was so fatty and fresh! The cod was so tender and literally melted off the fork. I came here on a Monday night with a small group reservation at 6:00pm and had an amazing time. The ambiance is so dreamy/chic as well as intimate. We were sat in the back tables, tucked away for a fun girls dinner! For drinks we got the Frenzy bottle which was a crisp and delicious Sauvignon blanc. The sushi and was absolutely spectacular. My husband made reservations for my birthday and I looked at all the recommendations from my fellow Yelpers. We are ordered the fried calamari and baked scallops for appetizers which were delicious. We ordered three sushi rolls initially, the toro roll, crunchy roll, and beef wagyu roll. They were all tasty. Then we added a fourth roll, the shrimp tempura roll. My son told me that it was the best sushi he has had and ruined all other places for him. I even received a complimentary mochi and fresh fruit plate for my birthday which was an extra special touch! Came here on a Tuesday night for a fun going-away dinner and was seriously impressed! The food and drinks were incredible -- the Baked Lobster Tempura is a must and the crab tempura roll was so good I'm still thinking about it days later. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a cool open kitchen area where you can watch the chefs in action. Service was good, and parking was super easy -- just around the corner. I love MF Sushi!! I'm a frequent customer here, and they nail it every time. The food is delicious, the ambiance is intimate and classy, and the service is always great. I highly recommend the shrimp tempura and eel roll, it is my absolute favorite! The spicy tuna roll and yellowtail roll is also good, and I love the Geisha cocktail drink. I've also tried the lychee cocktail and can't remember the name but there was one with champagne and berries, both of which I also recommend. The lychee cocktail did have a stronger alcohol flavor, while the other two are on the sweeter side. MF Sushi is always a 10/10 for me, and I definitely will be coming back again!! read more

I was with a group of people so unsure of the apps we ordered, but hey we're all super good - the one I remembered the most was the truffle salmon - so good. I always love coming here bc this is the firat place where I've tried raw sushi and actually loved it. All the fish is fresh and the flavors are so good & melt in your mouth. The restaurant itself is a little small so for HUGE parties it can be uncomfortable. But I do have a bias towards this place because of the lovely introduction to raw fish but the service is attentive and the food is delicious. Parking can be a little confusing and there's a parking garage right by the restaurant but you can get turned around pretty easily but other than that, I recommend coming here ! It is a little pricey but I'm willing to pay more for fish that won't make me sick :) read more

one of the best restaurants in Atlanta. I went last night with my sister and we absolutely loved the experience and the food. The service was incredible; the team was beyond kind and attentive. Everything we tried was stellar. The hamachi nigiri was the standout dish, we ordered three rounds. They also have an off-the-menu toro nigiri that was fabulous. I will say the nigiri and sushi appetizers really shine more than the rolls. The Cod was also very fishy we had to send it back. We had a reservation at 9:00pm but we were starving so we called and they had a table for us at 7:45pm. It is a pretty busy restaurant, but I never felt neglected by the server. It's a little noisy but not too much that you can't hear the people at your table. Every thing we ordered was amazing and I'd go back just for the toro and wagyu! We were excited to try MF Sushi, given the hype surrounding it, but unfortunately, it fell short of our expectations. The atmosphere was nice, but we quickly noticed a few flies around our food, which was definitely off-putting. We started with the Truffle Aioli Fresh Salmon as an appetizer, and it was one of the highlights of the meal. Fresh and tender, it melted in our mouths, and the truffle aioli added a nice touch. For the nigiris, we tried the O-Toro, Madai, Hamachi, and A5 Wagyu Beef Aburi. While the O-Toro and A5 Wagyu Beef were decent, they didn't blow us away. The Madai was underwhelming, and the A5 Wagyu lacked the depth of flavor we expected. The Hamachi, however, was a pleasant surprise. We loved the sear on it so much that we ended up ordering it twice. The rolls were another story. The Lobster Box Roll had way too much rice, and the Toro Osaka Box Roll was not to our taste at all. We sent it back because it was just off--too much rice and very bland. We also tried the Cod, but it was overly sweet and had a strong fishy taste that we didn't care for. Overall, MF Sushi didn't live up to the high expectations we had. The food was decent, but nothing was extraordinary, and some dishes were downright disappointing. The people are nice there, but the service was lacking. It was more about the experience than the actual food. Me and a girlfriend came here and had a time. The server was quite good and friendly, the restaurant is cute yet intimate, the bathrooms are clean and fresh, and the sushi chefs are on point. From start to finish this was a wonderful meal. The restaurant is very well appointed with artwork and elegant lighting giving it that upscale feel. I took a seat at the bar, and was pleased with the attentive service I received from both ladies. The food was amazing. Starting off with an amazing handcrafted gin martini, called the Samurai, cucumber notes and so refreshing. Now onto the good stuff, the Tuna Tataki was incredible. Fresh, perfectly seared, and finished with house made garlic crisps. Next I had the Spicy Tuna roll, which was not your classic house roll, but an upscale version. Topped with yellowtail and massago, it was wonderful. The nigiri came next, fresh, delicious and just the thing I needed to end my meal. I wish I got to see more of the restaurant, but from what I could see, it was very nice. Fancy as one would say. Great for date nights and even girls night... or anything really! I ordered shrimp tempura and one with crab in it, but I can't fully remember the name. Shrimp tempura is my absolute favorite, so of course I was obsessed with it. The right amount of crunch and warm to cool ratio haha. The crab was also really good! I love crab. I also ordered 2 lychee martini's which were amazing! How far things have fallen. Sadly, this will likely be our last visit to MF Sushi, and we can no longer recommend it. We chose it for a special occasion -- my wife's birthday -- but the experience was anything but special. Ambience: 2/5 MF Sushi used to be a go-to spot for a romantic date night. Unfortunately, that vibe is gone. There's no longer any dress code -- guests in shorts, t-shirts, and tennis shoes have become the norm, which really detracts from what once felt like an upscale dining experience. On top of that, the noise level was overwhelming and not conducive to conversation or celebration. Service: 1/5 The service was by far the most disappointing part of the evening. Our server, who was the only person wearing a mask, was difficult to understand and largely absent throughout the night. After taking our order, he disappeared for long stretches. Other staff members, who were friendly and helpful, ended up delivering our food and drinks. We had to ask for napkins, and later on, our glasses sat empty for over 20 minutes. When I quietly asked another server to locate our waiter, I was told he was speaking with the manager. Eventually, he returned just to process our payment -- no acknowledgment of my wife's birthday, no complimentary dessert, no farewell. He simply handed us the payment machine and walked away. Truly disappointing. Food: 4/5 The food was good -- and that's the most frustrating part. The quality of the sushi deserves praise, but the rest of the experience overshadowed it. In a city with so many excellent sushi options, service and atmosphere make all the difference. Miscellaneous: The hostess and the rest of the staff seemed kind and attentive, which made the contrast with our server even more stark. Unfortunately, my menu was sticky and stained on the inside, which added to the feeling that standards here have slipped. I love Inman Park and had been looking for an excuse to check out MF Sushi so we went for a little early birthday dinner! I definitely recommend getting a reservation as it was packed even when we went for our 9:30p reservation! There's also street parking or paid deck parking nearby. We were seated pretty quickly upon arrival. The space is pretty small and it gets really loud which was a little annoying for the beginning part of our dinner. Eventually things settled and we were able to place orders. I had a lychee martini which was so effortless and delicious! I placed orders for a traditional tuna roll (tekkamaki) and a spicy tuna osaka box style roll. The rolls were both delicious and they tasted absolutely fresh. It is a little on the pricier side but was definitely worth it. They also brought us a mochi dessert to celebrate my birthday which was so sweet and appreciated!! I have finally tried the long awaited MF sushi! Honestly cannot recommend getting a reservation more so definitely do it and ahead of time because they fill up for sure! We showed up for our reservation and got shown our table promptly. It was a little loud inside but no big deal and the staff was crazy friendly! To drink, I got their version of a mule with sake and it was crispy and delicious! For my main, I got the eel roll and the basic tuna roll (can't remember the name) the sushi was wow...fresh and delicious... I honestly hate to say it because my biggest gripe is the price point of this place. It was also my friend's birthday and they brought us a mochi platter with candles which was adorable! MF sushi is SO GOOD it's def one of my fav sushi places in Atlanta and by far the best one in the Krog/ponce/Inman park area! They seem to always be busy so make sure you have a reservation before you go or you might end up waiting a long time! The inside is fancy, and the prices are similar to other high end sushi places in Atlanta like umi and eight (about $20/roll). We started with the salmon truffle aioli appetizer and then shared the fatty tuna box roll and the crunchy lobster roll. Being a huge salmon lover, the app was probably my favorite and it paired so well with the truffle aioli and dash of wasabi. This is my friend's favorite restaurant and she was so excited to share it with me this evening. And wow, I can understand why she loves it so much. First off, you'll probably want to make a reservation. We arrived before the dinner crowd and while they were able to accommodate us, the dining room fills up fast at 6:30. We were at the bar and yes, the bar area filled up too. Almost too much as there were a couple that shared a single stool between them. Everything we had was perfectly delicious. Starting with seaweed salad followed by eel roll, a "box" roll, salmon and yellowtail sashimi, and the big hit was a filet mignon on a robata grill. What? Yes! Grilled right there in front of us and it was delicious. And finally, we shared two orders of mochi ice cream. Sake, beer and fantastic service. They have a full liquor license and the bartenders were cranking out some beautiful and creative cocktails while we enjoyed our dinner. The sake cooling decanter thing is pretty darned clever.
