I live literally 2 minutes from this spot, I pass it every single day and finally decided to drop in for a to go order. I came in about an hour and a half before close, what seemed like a slower night (every time I drive by, there's either a line or people waiting outside to be seated). I ordered the Spicy Mega Tuna and A Star is Born. I really loveddddd the Spicy mega tuna; I'm a sucker for a spicy tuna roll and this one was a spicy tuna with extra tuna on top. Delish. I wasn't crazy for the A Star is Born roll; great potential but way too much mayo/aioli on top that it took away from the flavors of the roll itself. I spent about $34 for both rolls, a little on the pricey side, but the visit was well overdue. The menu is QUITE extensive; it took me a while to decide what I wanted. For starters, the service is absolutely amazing! The staff was very quick with everything, and we didn't have to wait long for the food! However, it was extremely crowded and really hard to find a parking spot. We also had to get this reservation around three weeks in advance, so the earlier you do it the better. They also bring out small desserts for birthdays! My sushi was amazing! I got my roll without hot sauce and it was really good. I love cream cheese, but they were a little heavy handed with it, so if you don't like cream cheese, I'd maybe get a different roll. As mentioned earlier, it was really crowded and a little loud. The lights were also a little too dim for my taste, but it gave it a nice atmosphere. Overall, I really liked this place and would recommend going if you get the chance! read more

Atmosphere and interior design were really well done, which was already a good sign. Service was great, appetizers were amazing, arguably even better than the entrées that I got (you have to try the dynamite shrimp and rice cakes). Their especially sushi rolls have creative names, they're all based off of TV shows, movies, and other media franchises like BTS and Blackpink. I wouldn't call the price is cheap, but on the other hand I wouldn't expect it to be given the quality of the food! I would set up a reservation beforehand for the easiest time. I recommend, and I have already returned and am in the process of making a reservation to go again as I am writing this review! read more

The food here was amazing!!! So fresh and flavorful. Hands down one of the best sushi places I've been to in ATL in terms of flavor and price. All rolls are reasonably priced and the fish are clearly really fresh. You can taste the difference. We first got the chicken karage, which was so good. Really juicy and tender chicken meat and crispy flaky tempura crust on the outside. Their menu for rolls is HUGGEEE! It's hard to decide what to get, but we got the Black Pink roll and another roll, which I totally don't remember the name of, but both were so good! The roll names are also so cute! Service was fast as well. I can't wait to be back here! read more

This is my go-to sushi spots and we always get hot night!! I would say it's the best roll and a must try. The service is great too and they're always ready to fill up our water when it runs low or even before it runs too low! Super attentive and the vibes are nice, thought it can get quite loud and it seems you have to shout over to hear your friends or speak. They're busy even on weekday nights, so reservations help a lot!! read more

This a nice place to try some fancy sushi rolls (several cooked options) and appetizers! PARKING: It is nested inside an apartment complex's first story, so you do have to turn into the complex. There's free parking in the middle, but chances are there will be no spots. So your 2nd option is to park in the garage marked "retail parking". Plenty of parking there, and free! The appetizers are this place seem to be really good. The brussels sprouts and cauliflower are both of the same ilk, and seem to be flavored the same. I wish they would just mix both of them (which I love) into one big dish. The tempura is crispy and en pointe. I've seen pictures of the dumplings and they look very unique. We each ordered some sushi and shared. For 3 ladies, this seemed to be just the right about of food. I ordered the bumble-bee, the one with shrimp tempura, and it was delicious. I also liked my friend's Pacific Ocean roll, as the fish was cooked but tasted fresh, not fishy, and the texture and roe on the outside were interesting. I did like my other friend's salmon skin roll as well, I forgot the name, but it was crunchy! I would go back and try more appetizers or rolls :) read more

Beef over rice and the rolls were very tasty. I usually like very simple rolls but, their creativity was a nice surprise. The only drawback for me is that there weren't many other food options (like noodles, grilled stuff) and I personally like more variety. But it is what it is... this is just not a full Japanese restaurant. The food is good at least. read more

Fudo is really an underrated spot. The sticky toffee cake is my favorite. The sushi have a wide range and I always have to get the beef rolls. The service is amazing. I highly recommend making a reservation after a certain time they do get crowded read more

My parents, teenage daughter, 11-year-old son, and I came here for the first time for an early Friday dinner. And I attempted to call for a reservation, however they do not make same day reservations. So we got there early at 5:30 PM to avoid a wait as a walk-in. The staff was friendly and efficient. We had about four different people come by and fill our water glasses at least four different times. We ordered the seaweed salad, house salad with ginger dressing, miso soup, spider roll, shrimp tempura roll, eel roll, chicken fried rice. And a don buri roll with spicy sashimi on top. Everything was tasty--we managed to spend only $80 for five people, not including tip. The acoustics are not the best due to the loft ceilings and the parking was a little distant but at least free. There is also complimentary valet, but I did not see that until after we finished dinner. We will be back! read more

My visit to Fúdo was a little different this time, but in the best way. We went on a weekend and waited for about 45-60 mins to be seated so I suggest you make a reservation if you're strapped for time. We got a couple of drinks at the bar and sat outside while we waited for our table to be ready. Seating at the sushi bar finally opened up so we headed to our seats and was pleasantly surprised to find that there were purse hooks and a foot rest that was positioned perfectly! The waiters were on it! Someone came over immediately to take our orders; we decided to go with the brussel sprouts which were crispy and drizzled with a sweet sauce. The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and extremely delicious! We were still a little hungry after the sushi rolls so we decided to get more food. The Gyu-Don bowl was my favorite out of the two rice bowls we tried. It came with marinated short rib, fried kimchi, and arugula. Can't wait to come back to try more! read more

Came here with friends for dinner and this place was packed. It was also in the middle of the week, so it's good to get reservations ahead of time if possible. They had such fun sushi names on the menu and we all tried a variety of rolls. All of the rolls we got were delicious. I love sushi and was so excited to try this place. As a tip, there will be a pretty long wait on weekends so try to get there early. We joined the waitlist and was told it would be about 1-1.5 hr wait. I was fine with that as it was date night and we didn't have any other plans. Once we got seated, the menu was EXTENSIVE. We tried a variety of rolls and their dynamite shrimp. Everything we had was amazing. I loved every bite and we were extremely full of 3 rolls and 1 appetizer. We still saved some room for dessert and got the earl grey creme brûlée. Highly recommend that dessert as it was delicious! I loved the service here, the servers were checking on us regularly and our water was never empty. A must go to place for date night! read more

Went with a friend for dinner and it was very busy despite the cold weather. I can't remember all the rolls we got but we enjoyed them. Dessert was good but the sticky toffee cake had ENTIRELY TOO MUCH sauce and it made it overwhelmingly sweet. If there was about 80% less sauce we would have finished it. The earl grey crème brûlée was the right amount of sweet and had very good earl grey flavor. The dining space has high ceilings but is a bit small, so when it inevitably gets busy, it gets pretty loud and can be a bit difficult to hear your conversation. read more

Fudo is incredibly overpriced and overhyped. This is my second trip here and I think I've made my final verdict on this: I probably won't come here again. Don't get me wrong, the reason for my review isn't because the food is bad, but there are plenty of great sushi options that taste just as good if not better than Fudo, and are not nearly as crowded or hard to get into, and they will cost 30-40% less for the same amount of food. In terms of how good the food actually was, for the reputation of this place, I was expecting it to blow my socks off, but in reality I got some subpar quality: the soft shell crab tempura I ordered had a very thick and overpowering batter and the yellowtail sashimi (sashimi here is outrageously expensive) wasn't cut right and had silvers of skin still on it. The rolls were fine, but nothing you can't get anywhere else. If you are looking for an alternative option, one that's a bit more bang for your buck and just as good, I would highly recommend trying Yuzu Sushi just down the road. read more

Thank you Yelpers for helping me find this place! We came hungry for good sushi (since moving to Columbus, Ohio, finding good quality sushi is impossible)... and we left full and content. Honestly - the quality and combination of ingredients of the sushi rolls were top-notch. So many choices which I appreciated. The presentation was lovely. Also great service and tasty hot saki. I couldn't have asked for a better experience (and they were great with us bringing in a hungry three-year-old). I would absolutely come back here the next time I'm in Atlanta. read more

If you haven't been here at least try it once. highly doubt you'll be disappointed. it's less busy in the early half of the day on weekdays if you want a more intimate experience. it can get loud for dinner but it's really tolerable. And the ambience is always unmatched: dim lighting, nice music and very clean. I recommend getting the star is born roll and tuna on the rocks. Fudo is perfect for any occasion. read more

Yummm! Solid sushi spot that gets CROWDED on weekends - try and reserve in advance if you don't want to wait an hour! We put our names down (for a party of 4) and hung out by the bar in the meantime. The cocktails are EXCELLENT here - I tried the Hokkaido 75, followed by The Lost Sword. Both were absolutely perfect. It was mesmerizing to watch the bartenders at work. Even if you don't like sushi, you should come here for their drinks. After we were finally seated, we ordered several rolls for the table. I can't remember all of them, but I will say they were all delicious and unique in their own way. The sushi menu is HUGE, so you'll likely find whatever you're looking for and be pleased. Service was pretty good - our water glasses were always filled to the top, which is something I always appreciate! If you don't mind a space that feels quite crowded and loud, definitely check out Fudo for some solid sushi and excellent libations. read more

We've been to Fudo twice and loved it both times. This place has great sushi for a great price. I was never a big sushi person until I tried Fudo and now I'm hooked. The service was great both time and this spot has great ambiance. You can got for a quick lunch with friends during the day or a nice date at night. The Dynamite Shrimp is a must get as an appetizer. If you're feeling frisky try out the Dragon Tail (Eel). It was outstanding. Fudo is definitely a must try! read more

WoW!! This place was hopping on a Monday night. Had to wait about 20 minutes for a table but things started rolling once we were seated. After a quick scan of the menu, we jumped right into some dynamite shrimp and sashimi and ordered rolls for dinner: tuna on fire, venom and oceans eight. My eyes were bigger than my stomach because there was a lot of food...well prepared and very tasty. Delicious! This place was pretty packed on a Thursday evening and I can see why! The appetizers and sushi were so flavorful. I love a roll with cream cheese in it, and the Audi did not disappoint. Review is for takeout only! This was my last meal for 2021 and I could not have ended The year in a better fashion! I have truly become a fan of this restaurant. Ordered the dynamite shrimp, spicy tuna, poke tuna, Hunger games, star is born, shumai. Other than star is born everyone of the dish ordered was exceptional! The flavors explode in your mouth. This may be a little more spicy than traditional sushi but for someone who embraces the spice the food here is simply phenomenal! Even though we did not eat our meal as soon as we got it the food was delicious. My only complaint is the long wait to get to someone to be able to order takeout. Also, their website is not clear about days that they are closed. They also do not have a voicemail set up which informs customers about the same. We had made a trip on the Sunday after Christmas As their website documented that they were open. We were unable to reach anyone over the phone to confirm, i'm arriving there we realize the restaurant was closed. To avoid the same fate on New Year's Eve we called first and it took us several attempts before we successfully reach someone over the phone. Overall: must try if you love sushi and spice! read more

Visited on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. After hopping around to several tables (my bf couldn't decide where he wanted to sit lol smh) we sat at the sushi counter and looked over the menu. We started with the mixed veggie tempura bc he had seen a Google pic and it looked really good. We also ordered an old fashioned, which was perfection. It's been hard trying to find a really good old fashion and they excelled with taste and presentation. There were so many sushi variations that it made it a little hard to choose. Luckily there were two that caught his eye so we ordered the Sunshine and Mission Impossible sushi rolls. The mixed veggie tempura arrived and looked almost as good as the picture and tasted delicious. Both sushi rolls were delicious, but the Mission Impossible was both of our favorite of the two. I enjoyed sitting at the sushi counter because I was able to see the work behind the sushi. From the cutting/slicing of the fish and veggies, to the sushi prep and the sushi rolling, it was all mesmerizing and had me intrigued. Definitely recommend giving them a try! read more

This restaurant is a fantastic place for rolls and cocktails! I have heard so many good things about it and was glad I was finally able to try. We came on a weekday lunch so it wasn't too busy but I heard it can get pretty busy if you come at night/during the week end: The waitress we had was really nice and there was someone to refill my water all the time. I definitely appreciate that. We ordered two rolls and they were really good. There was not too much rice so you would taste the ingredients. They tasted fresh and there was a bit ot sauce but not too much that they would be drenched. Overall, probably some of the better rolls I had. The Katsu don was ok - it came with buttered corn and pickled veggies. The price was reasonable for the portion but it just didn't stand out to me but it was still good. I love this place because it is lively and offers a massive menu. That said it feels a bit factory like at times especially during dinners. I get why it is popular (decent food at decent prices) and good service but it can get very loud and the turn over is high so it feels constantly chaotic. This is my wife & my favorite restaurant in Atlanta, hands down. This place hits the mark on everything. * The Food is AMAZING, you really can't go wrong ordering anything. Our personal favorite are the Gyu-Don and Dynamite Shrimp. * There are also tons of sushi options to choose from that are more unique than other places. With a full sushi bar filled with chefs! * Service is outstanding, and your water glass will never go empty. * Atmosphere is very vibey with dim lighting. I would recommend making a reservation for dinners and weekends. Fantastic spot for a meeting for business or pleasure, wonderful atmosphere, and over 50 sushi rolls to choose from alongside a mix of Japanese and Korean dishes. Their diverse menu of appetizers, donburi bowls, tempura and sushi will leave you wanting to share and return to try more! They do use wheat flour when frying the tempura, but there are naturally gluten free options including the vegetable donburi bowl (be sure to ask for no soy sauce if gluten sensitive) and several of the rolls. We came for lunch but they also have a lengthy alcoholic beverage list including premium sake and whiskey. Highly recommended for your sushi fix! read more

Visitors Fúdo for the first time for dinner with girlfriends. I've been super excited and anxious to try their cuisine after discovering the restaurant on Instagram. The ambiance and decor of the restaurant is a nice modern, rustic vibe. We started with apps and cocktails. I ordered the edamame and a glass of Rose that I enjoyed. The waiter suggested the Spider Roll as one of my entrees since I desired a roll with crab in it and wasn't spicy. I also ordered the Rock, Paper, Shrimp roll. This is where the disappointment came. The Spider Roll smelled and tasted so fishy I couldn't eat it. I brought this to the waiter's attention but he did not want to accommodate. I'm assuming he thought I just didn't like it but after one bite I was concerned if I ate anymore I would be sick. I then tried to remove the seaweed thinking that was the root of the problem but it only further exposed the smell. We had to move the plate it was on because it smelled so bad. The crab salad and shrimp on the Rock, Paper, Shrimp roll tasted amazing but the crispy rice bed was extremely over fried and a bit hard to chew. I really wanted to love this place. Why is this called Asian Fusion? All I see in the menu photos is sushi and a few other Japanese options like tempura.

There are a lot of Sushi rolls that are creative and imaginative that I have never seen at other Japanese restaurants. They also seem to have an extensive alcohol selection from around the world. :)

I attended a meeting here of my regular Buford Highway Restaurant Clawr group - actually we had tried to come here once before but the guy was about to close, so this time we came earlier, only to find that you had to call ahead to get the whole duck (which is what we were the most interested in). This sparse, brightly painted place is more of a butcher than a restaurant - where fans can buy various animal bits like Duck head, neck, feet, wing, tounge or gizzard (similar for chicken), also cuts of beef tripe, stomach and tendon or pork ear, feet and leg. They also have several seafood items like crawfish, river snails and mussels. It's my understanding that this is a particular style of traditional Chinese cooking where the focus is on all the bits that are often discarded in the US. It's for a discerning palate and stuff you might find from street-food vendors in large Chinese cities. For Atlanta this is a way to get flavors you wouldn't otherwise find, perhaps to deal with a longing for home. Thus the clientele is made up mostly of Chinese nationalists. We opted for two very similar dishes (we weren't aware how similar until we got them) - one was a soup with clear noodles and the other basically the same thing without the broth. I thought the broth fairly decent and the bits fairly fresh if very rich. I don't mind tripe, beef stomach, blood sausage and the like but I try to only get it in occasional bites - getting a huge bowl was a bit overwhelming. I think if you're looking for something interesting this might be the place to start - I'm not too sure if I'd have this as a destination. The guy behind the counter was not very engaged, seeming to spend all his time on his phone, basically oblivious to us - I don't think we fit into his typical demographic. I must emphasize the consistently excellent customer service- it's prompt and always greeted with warmth. The food, without fail, is prepared to perfection, and each roll or quick bites leaves me returning back! The sushi at Fudo is simply amazing but the way they package to go orders is disgraceful. Most of the rolls at Fudo have very lovely toppings but they jam the rolls into too-small cardboard boxes, double stacked to make them fit. When you get them home they are a ball of sludge. Every other sushi restaurant, from budget to premium uses single row trays so the sushi is as lovely as if ordering in the restaurant, so I don't understand why Fudo thinks it's ok to pack this way. We also ordered the cauliflower appetizer and the cheap cardboard box was saturated with liquid, making it an absolute mess. When spending upwards of $20 a roll, we deserve more. read more

Fudo Japanese in Chamblee lives up to its reputation as the area's best sushi spot. As someone who once feared sushi, I was converted here. Parking is tough due to the busy plaza, but once inside, the staff's warmth makes up for it. They are always so welcoming, with constant check-ins so you'll never feel neglected. The spicy edamame is a fantastic savory start, and the Lord of the Rings roll with wagyu is a standout, so good that someone at the bar ordered it after seeing mine. Highly recommend. read more

Fudo is my favorite sushi spot of all time. I have tried many places including nobu and Fudo takes the top spot due to its quality, service, and affordability. The flavors are delicious and it doesn't break the bank like other places; you still get a good experience. My favorite roll is hot night. We usually get 2 of those and we also get hunger games and X-men. I went here to celebrate with my boyfriend for our anniversary as well and so we treated ourselves to a nigiri and it was SO GOOD. read more

So glad I found this place! Cool scene and great place to grab sushi and drinks. These guys worked their butts of during the pandemic and I am happy to see that they made it. Always friendly staff and the food is really good. Parking is easy and that whole area in Chamblee is really a great place to hang out. Buckhead is old news. This time my visit to Fudo was a little different, but in a better way. I absolutely love this place it's like a hidden gem inside of a apartment complex parking lot. Just great timing. They do not offer Sashimi sets thus what you see in the pics I posted. Not complaining - I got my fix later in the week. But enjoyed the meal from appetizer, to dessert and the drinks in-between. I especially enjoyed the Yellowtail Jalapeno - nice punch of flavor - same for the Crab Sunomono. The Margarita Roll had a little kick - not spicy for me but if you're sensitive to spicy heat - might want to avoid. Grabbed the Banana Tempura for dessert. Figured it would pair well with the Banana Bread Old Fashioned. It didn't. Little to strong for it. That's on me. But enjoyed the separately. Next time I'd order something that doesn't overpower the dessert. But next time I might just say it's two desserts - the second being of a liquid variety. Anyway, would I go back?
