My only complaint was that my delivery and pick-up times were both changed and then the driver still arrived early- normally that would be great but in the age of working from home and meetings it wasn't. As an addendum - after arriving late, they decided to make a stop in between locations. On our 7-8 mile move they arrived 1 hour after us - we left at the SAME time. So after receiving a few quotes from a handful of businesses, I went with Potomac Moving due to the speed of their response, clarity in communication, pricing and overall warmth and professionalism. In our first phone call to walk though my needs, they were very assuring and accommodating, which is a such a relief in the midst of stress and coordination that comes with planning for a move. They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact. On the day of the move, the movers were communicative regarding their arrival time. They were also very nice and hard working. I had a few large furniture items that needed to be disassembled and they ended up being quite beasts to tackle. But they worked diligently to break them down. Once it came time to move things to my new place, that was a breeze. One gesture that I thought was just so classy, was the owner called in the middle of the move to check-in on how things were going - I really appreciated that. My living room furniture was deep scratched into the leather and also suffered paint scratches. I was compensated for the leather scratches that will need repair. I was disappointed yesterday when I visited my storage unit and found the cement bottom of one of my lamps broken in 4 pieces. It doesn't even stand on its own anymore - it's trash. I had to find both of these damages to my furniture. They did not voluntarily tell me about any of the damage I discovered - just gave excuses about the sofa - apparently covered in the contract if furniture is large. Even though they compensated me minimally for my sofa repair, I am super worried about how the rest of the furniture looks now. Not cheap furniture. If you use them, you've got to watch them.

When I confronted them ,they denied it, one of the guys walked up to me in my face and was ready to fight. I called the cops and then somehow my belt reappeared in a place I already had looked for it and where I didn't put it to begin with. They also damaged the entrance of the new apartment door while they were bringing in the furnitures which causes bugs and all kinds of insects to have easy access. mind you, this was a brand new apartment where I'm the 1st one to move in. My movers were supposed to arrive between 12-2pm (with the coordinator I spoke to saying it would most likely be 12), but they did not arrive until after 4pm. They were nice guys; but they didn't handle my stuff with care. I have nicks and a huge new scratch on my dresser -- I should've seen the red flag when they didn't wrap it (I've moved this dresser many times before and movers have always wrapped it) but just wanted to get the move over with. This dresser has stayed in perfect condition for several years and several moves, so I'm a bit heartbroken. I also have a hugeeeeee rip on my mattress (picture also attached). I'm unsure of how this will impact support and may have to buy an entirely new one. Throughout the process, I just felt very uneasy about how they were handling my stuff. They broke another one of items as well as a hallway light in my new apartment. I don't know if I have any recourse here because I noticed these things after they left, and don't have any before pictures. Nightmare pricing scheme. Moved our furniture into storage in 2021, really affordable price for 3…read moremen, a truck, 5 hours of packing and transporting to their warehouse $1100. We only stored our large furniture, no small items. Year and half of storage we finally found a house. Decided not to pay $5,500 to move the items a few hours away. Choose to pick up our items from the warehouse and use a uhaul. Owner wanted to charge $1,800 for what would take only an hour to accomplish. This was $1,000 for them to retrieve the five crates and put them at the warehouse door, and $145 an hour for 2 of their guys to unwrap the furniture with a minimum of 5 hours charged regardless of how long it took. Picked up items, owner finally agreed to only charge for the time it actually took them to unwrap items (we loaded the trucks). Total for about 45mins of work was $1,225. Be careful about storing your items in the warehouse once they have your personal belongings you will pay 2x-5x to get them back.
