I'd give zero stars if I could! These people broke my $1000 coffee table, OVER 4 YEARS AGO!! After being told that the $300 table I had found that I was willing to accept a a replacement was too expensive, but that he would take it up with the owner and get back to me. He never did, then when I finally got ahold of someone, a woman answered and told me he died. I'm not saying that was a lie, but as such I have her 2 months to get back to business and try to figure out what she was going to do about my table. That never happened and when I finally did get ahold of someone after the 2 months, they answered, acted like they couldn't speak English, and blocked me! The main reason I hired movers in the first place was to move this table and the matching couch table because they're very heavy! They didn't listen when I told them that they needed to move them first, so after moving the couch, loveseat, recliner, and matching table, theiy were hot and tired! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! I can not recommend Blue Skies Movers. Everyone was very nice, but the moving experience was not up to my expectations at all. My movers were supposed to arrive between 12-2pm (with the coordinator I spoke to saying it would most likely be 12), but they did not arrive until after 4pm. They were nice guys; but they didn't handle my stuff with care. I have nicks and a huge new scratch on my dresser -- I should've seen the red flag when they didn't wrap it (I've moved this dresser many times before and movers have always wrapped it) but just wanted to get the move over with. This dresser has stayed in perfect condition for several years and several moves, so I'm a bit heartbroken. I also have a hugeeeeee rip on my mattress (picture also attached). I'm unsure of how this will impact support and may have to buy an entirely new one. Throughout the process, I just felt very uneasy about how they were handling my stuff. They broke another one of items as well as a hallway light in my new apartment. I don't know if I have any recourse here because I noticed these things after they left, and don't have any before pictures. This was the WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!! DO NOT HIRE BLUE SKY MOVERS. They were late by 1 1/2 hours. The workers were always complaining. They left my 50 inch TV and TV stand and my tall nightstand behind at my old house in the move as well as many other things. I had to rent a UHAUL to recover the rest of my belongings. I requested a quote in the middle of the night and spoke with someone that morning. The pricing was fair for the distance between the destinations. I received a follow up call the day before to confirm everything. I received an invoice that listed everything we discussed regarding the quote. The young men sent to move my items were pleasant and very professional. They came in and managed to get everything out the apartment and into my house within a timely manner. They arrived an hour late reeking of marijuana. They moved quickly but dented my walls in 3 places, scratched a brand new hardwood floor, set nearly all of my furniture on wet ground before bringing it in the house and left three pieces of furniture behind that I paid to be moved. One piece obstructed a hallway and I had to pay another company remove it. None of this would have mattered if there was any follow up from anyone at the company. I have used them a couple of times and will never do it again. They were late each time and this time, after scheduling the move so that I was the first stop of the day and explaining it needed to be on time, they were still two hours late. They said it was trouble with the truck which is the same excuse they used before. No apology about being late. This time, the movers were clearly not experienced - just a bunch of guys who carry stuff. They slammed the bed repeatedly trying to take it apart among other things. They also stuck to the inventory list and refused to take things not on the list - they didn't ask if I meant for those items to get moved, just ignored them and left. Good price but unfortunately they showed up late and had a truck with broken rear exit and ramp and had a flat tire when they arrived at the destination.... the moving men worked around these problems and did a good job despite the truck problems. read more

This was one of the best moving companies that I've used. Quick to respond to messages, prompt and professional. They were also extremely reasonable on prices. I had those poor guys walking up to the 4th floor without the use of an elevator and they didn't complain once. WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER!!! If I could give NEGATIVE stars I would. First, They left my 20 small boxes + 5 medium boxes in my old house because I quoted for 60 boxes total. And they charged again for moving the rest boxes. Second, the manager is not professional. Because they have another moving appointment, the manager is pushing his staff and yelling them in my house with rudeness. Third, the staff movers are not quite professional, they did not wrap and protect my mattress and most of the furniture even thought i double checked with them before the moving date. And they did not reassemble and fasten my furniture correctly. I found my dinning table shaked and my bed furniture made noise after they left in a hurry for the next appointment. The price was extremely reasonable (over $100 less than other companies quoted for a simple, 3-hr move) and they finished the job much faster than I thought they'd be able to. First, the movers were 45 minutes later than the expected 2 hour window of 2pm - 4pm. I did not receive a call letting me know this until 3:30pm. The minute they walked through the door, the lead mover was asking us "not to kill them too much because they had been working outside all day." I do not feel that was professional and fair of him to say considering we have no control over their schedule or the heat outside. A big part of this moving job was being able to get our treadmill in the POD. I completely understand that the treadmill is heavy but felt they should have at least tried to get it downstairs in 1 piece. While my husband was working on figuring out how to disassemble it, I asked them to please move what was left upstairs (dresser, mirror, 2 night stands) to the main level because we knew everything was not going to fit in the POD, but needed to see if they could break the treadmill down because I was really hoping to get that in the POD. However, even after making the determination that we would worry about the treadmill another day, they did not bring everything down from upstairs that I asked them to. Finally, slightly over 1 hour into our 2 hour allotted time, we asked them to load up a few more boxes to fill as much space as we could. We had a few boxes on the main level and some downstairs. The lead mover asked if this would be it and my husband said "For now" because we had told them multiple times, we needed to see how much space this took up. If there was more room in the POD, of course, we would want to add more boxes. The lead mover responded with something along the lines of "you keep saying for now, but we are trying to figure out when we can get out of here." Please keep in mind, this was around 5:50pm, which was only a little after an hour they showed up so we still had another hour with them that we were paying for. UPDATE: Parker quickly called me to let me know he had spoken with the lead mover (who is new to the company) about his level of professionalism and feels he will learn from this situation to be a better lead in the future. I had never heard of this company until a church member recommend. My experience with them was horrific. Many promises were made ,but none acknowledge nor kept. Parker has good intentions, but his crew have no respect for him nor this company. They arrived to my home with attitudes,. They complaint compulsively about Parker, their lack of pay, my furniture and they were hungry. I offered them a bottle of water, they drank everything they could see. Considering, the size of their vessel, it took them 2 days to move me. Furniture were left behind in the rain and eventually stolen. They said they had 2 trucks and more men. I discovered, it was only 1 rented truck and 3 angry men. Eventually, I could no longer hold my peace, James and I had words. After they left my home, I discovered James had stolen my laptop. Requested a quote online via Yelp and received a response in minutes. Utilized their services to pickup a piece of furniture purchased from an outlet center to be delivered to my home. Price was reasonable. Movers showed up to the location 30 minutes early. Extremely courteous and professional. Wrapped the piece in furniture blankets and shrink wrap to protect it. They asked for the number of boxes and instinctively I thought 60 boxes of books and they quoted based on that as opposed to the total number of boxes--200. Everything you need and more in a moving company. I found Blue Skies Movers after a yelp recommendation for my upcoming move. I received many quotes from other companies that were either astronomically high or suspiciously low. I moved from upper marlboro, md ( a small 1 bedroom apartment) to 14 miles away to a 3 bedroom town home. The online tool that they used was perfect in allowing me to say exactly what I was moving and allowed them to give me a flat rate! From the first conversation through the yelp chat to the last phone call checking in that everything was satisfactory after the move the customer service was 100% A++++. There were some hiccups on my side with the closing date moving and the move possibly having to be canceled but the customer service and the team was always reassuring that no matter what my needs were for my move that they would take care of me. The morning of the move I received a confirmation call and additional calls through out the day to inform me of the status of the truck. They arrived on time, assessed my move and I was packed on the truck and on the road within the hour. When we arrived to the new home, they padded the door and frame and was just as gentle and efficient unpacking as they were packing the truck. They even arranged my 32 boxes of shoes into my new walk in closet (outstanding customer service). They removed all the padding and shrink wrap from my furniture, set up my bed and even took the boxes from some items that packed with them. With everything that could possible go wrong on moving day I was ecstatic that with the help of Blue Skies Movers the actual move was the last thing I had to worry about on that day. Today my Aunt who is a senior moved from her apartment to a townhome. She booked Blue skies Movers 30 days in advance. They should up 2 hours late, and after she was instructed by Parker's wife to leave her boxes open for shrink wrapping they stood around complaining about the boxes being opened. After my Aunt became upset due to the complaints and insults Parker's wife added more insult to injury while speaking on the phone to one of the movers as he was standing in the hallway of the apartment building, she was told that my Aunt was looking for a different company to come so she yelled "F*^k her". My Aunt felt so disrespected that she just told all the movers to get out. After that Parker called and tried to smooth things over by saying "Can you be a bit more nice to my guys they are scared." She made him aware of what happen and he said he would speak with his wife about it and what could they do for her. She simply responded she just wanted her things moved. They called back a little while later asking my Aunt how long were the movers going to be because they were late for their next job. Honestly, this is probably the worst moving company I've ever worked with. They may be cheap but they're cheap for a reason. Don't waste your time. Hired this company in January for a move in February. At first they seemed like a solid company and the price was right but fast forward to the move and not only did they send an extremely unprofessional crew who BROKE my bed and several other items, but 2 of the 3 movers they sent stole my contact info from the move and tried hitting on me after the fact. They also left a GIANT stack of boxes outside my apartment building IN THE MIDDLE OF A SNOW STORM rather than taking them to the dumpster like they said they would. This whole experience has been extremely unprofessional and, frankly, uncomfortable from start to finish. Since the move in February, I've been trying to get reimbursed for the damaged items - which they agreed to pay for verbally and in writing - and it has been an absolute nightmare. I call, text and email the one contact person they have named Leena and I'm constantly ignored or given every excuse in the book as to why i haven't gotten my money back. It doesn't seem like anyone else works there because, other than the janky ass movers they sent, I've never been able to speak with anyone else. To date, I haven't received the reimbursement I was promised and I'm considering taking legal action due to their lack of response. Horrible experience with this company. Scheduling was a smooth process friendly customer service. Initially. Fair quote compared to other companies. They accommodated me with several changes as well as provided me with a generous discount to store my items overnight. The old saying goes " you get what you pay for". With this being said does not mean show up whenever you want. They were extremely late at least 3-4 hours to pack the truck up and then again to deliver items to new home. Totally unacceptable. This made my moving experience even more stressful. The leg on my sofa was damaged. I was told by the delivery lead ( can't recall name) that he would notify manager because they have a person who could repair. He proceeded to take a picture of the damage. As of yet I haven't been contacted. In addition, I texted the owner Parker no response! I received several apologies from the owner as well as the delivery lead.
