The good news is that they were able to clean and repair a 90 year old SilverTone Cornet from a family estate sale. It was finally sold on consignment after 2 years and several price reductions. The bad news is that they performed unauthorized repairs after the initial work, without explanation, which they then deducted from the balance paid out to the estate. Further, when I discussed this several times with Chris Greco, he assured me it should have been handled differently, and would issue a refund for that unauthorized work after discussing it with Linda. Months later I have no updates and no refunds as promised. I understand the work is specialized, but don't hide what you're doing. At this point I have lost any respect for the business and how they do things. read more

Baltimore (and beyond) brass players are truly fortunate to have a store like this in our area. The staff is friendly and quite knowledgeable about all aspects of brass instruments. They understand that every customer is different, and what kind of instrument might be good for one player isn't the best choice for another one. You're welcome to visit the store to try instruments (but please, brush your teeth first!), but the staff won't be upset if you don't find exactly what you're looking for. I had a small repair that needed to be done. I was expecting to have to leave the instrument in the shop, but the repair staff were able to get it done in about 15 minutes. A perfect place to buy an upgraded trumpet! We decided our son needed a better trumpet for high school. He is typically in the top few trumpets and just got out of braces. We'd been to the large box store and sometimes found helpful staff, but the prices were pretty stunning and the options were limited. They charged $20 to try out (since they have to re-clean each instrument), waived if you purchase. We made an appointment, so we were the only ones there, and we could be sure to be there with trumpet players to guide us. They didn't try to upsell or talk us into our out of anything. They have a large selection of both new and used instruments, so we tried both. In the end, our son is over the moon happy with his new trumpet, and we were able to buy quite a nice model, which happened to be used (gently/in great shape). Incredible selection of new and used instruments all on display and easy to pick up and ecamine. Accomodating sales staff will find the horn that fits your needs or just let you browse. All horns bear price tags but are negotiable. Horns are there you have never seen like double bell euphomiums, reproduction sackbuts, every style of tubas, etc. Must be seen to believe ! I bought my last 2 horns at BB, a Holton and a Hoyer. Both times the price was right. I also recommended BB to a friend who found the Lawson he was looking for at a very fair price. Service is attentive and expert as are repairs. I also sold a single Bb horn on consignment at BB and the transaction was seamless. They have try out rooms and one can try the fairly wide selection of horns on site. Sales are with a 7 day try out policy which is helpful. read more
