They saw me for a vision test and the dr was professional which is why I didn't leave one star. They didn't measure my pupillary distance and I paid $100 for the eye exam. When I called them they said that I needed to request that information ahead of time. I asked if I came back if they could take it without charging me more and they agreed. I went back this morning the girl at the front asked if I got glasses from them and I said no. She held the machine to my eyes for literally 2 seconds and then she wrote down the measurements. Questionable of the measurements I went to a different doctor for a second opinion and sure enough my pupillary distance measurements were significantly different from what the eyemart employee had given me. I do not recommend doing business here especially with something as important as your eyes and vision. I'm under the impression that since I wasn't getting my glasses with them, they would give me incorrect measurements so that my glasses elsewhere would be "off" to some degree read more

TLDR - Despite being a discount store, Eyemart Express' customer service was extraordinary. They have quality eyewear on premium and discount levels. Most discount stores focus on driving prices down as the customer service suffers. Nobody told that to Jeanne and her friends at Eyemart Express. Last year I accidentally found this place and Jeanne knocked it out of the park. I tried a high rent/high price storefront closer to my home save a commute, but I had a regrettable experience. So, I made the trip back here and, of course, Jeanne did it again. My eyes are changing because of medical conditions and age, but Jeanne was able to help and inform keep me. If she was selling, then I didn't notice, because I truly felt she wanted to help. They have discount product lines, but there is also a great selection of premium frames that are priced well below the high rent storefront locations. Let me start off by saying the customer service is great. I was greeted immediately upon walking in by both Patrick and Jamaiya. I was in to get a replacement pair for I had left mine on a flight back home. The process is so smooth and extremely efficient. Not to mention I only paid $49.95 for two pairs of glasses without using my insurance. If that's not a steal then idk what is. I would not have known about this deal if it was not for Patrick letting me know this was an option for me since I had mentioned I had just purchased and lost a pair in December. They were extremely patient with me and also guided me through the whole process. I also witnessed Jamaiya give the exact same excellent customer service to her patient as well. I was extremely impressed with the overall experience. I highly recommend visiting this location for any of your eyewear needs. They have a great selection of affordable frames to high end. wrong proscription, optometrist left the lights on during my exam until I told him to turn them off, $620 dollars for a one hour place and it will be over a week until this is resolved, maybe two? No fitting after to check that the prescription was correct. They would have noticed that I can't see out of the left eye, but the right is decent. I'll have to reorder contacts, so yet another trip. I chose them because I had broken my glasses and needed a quick fix. No fitting afterwards or they would have noticed the glasses don't fit, have insane reflective issues, and can't simply be cleaned as brand new. They have this odd film on them I can't remove even with cleaner. Don't do it it's not worth it. I have physical disabilities and I chose the "convenience" of a one hour shop so that I wouldn't have much time out. Cheap, incompetent, and NOT one hour. Not even one week. I've been a customer here for about five years. I've always had good service and gotten a quality product. Today, things were horrendously different. The glasses seem fine, but the epic failure of salesperson, Terra P., was beyond awful. Never have I been told, "I don't have time for you" in a retail business. Not to mention the load of attitude that she sent with it. This is not an indictment of Eyemart Express, or even this location (although I'll never return), but this specific employee. And, by extension, the office for employing her. I made my displeasure known to the manager (and everybody else within earshot) and was told that she'd be "talked to." There is a new Sheriff in town and her name is Dominique. I was GREETED as I entered the store (nice touch) and was asked to sign in. While signing in I was asked if I was there to pick up, make repairs or a new purchase. I explained that that I was there for a new purchase. There were at lease 12 people ahead of me but what was refreshing was that there were 4 people working behind the counter and they got to me rather quickly. Dominique was kind enough to explain she was the new manager and this was her 4th store she was assigned to manage. I sure hope she stays because it was a breath of fresh air as far as I'm concerned. They promised the 2 pair of new glasses in 2 hours and less than an hour later the TEXT message came across that the glasses were ready. Same process when I came to pick up the glasses and I was out the door in no time. Their prices are fantastic and I've been using Eyemart Express since they first opened here in Austin. P.S. A couple days ago, I walked into the Eyemart Express in Southpark Meadows in Austin, Tx to simply get my glasses and sunglasses adjusted. The person who was helping me was in training and obviously did not do well. My glasses were tweaked many times and were not right. On my sunglasses, they just needed a small adjustment due to sliding on my nose some. After several attempts, they still were not right. The person took them into the lab and was gone for quite a while. When I finally was given them to try on, they were totally wrong, couldn't see clear and they were severely bowed. I was so frustrated, they were busy and this person could not get them right so I just left. I observed an employee named Robert who I wished would have waited on me. He was respectful with his customers and obviously knew what he was doing. But he was very busy with other customers. Over the next couple of days or so, I was not able to wear either pair of glasses. So....I revisited the store at a non busy time to see if they could correct the adjustments that they made. The first woman tried to adjust my glasses giving it several tries. I told her I just didn't want them to slide sown my nose. She went in the back and got the lab tech to come help. She told me that without curling the arms behind my ears snugly, they could be helped, said that's all that could be done. As far as my sunglasses, she told me that all glasses are bowed, I know this but still could not see correctly when I put them on. She said there was nothing she could do. I then went next door to Walmart Vision Center and explained the issues I was having with both glasses. This man was awesome! He quickly made proper adjustments on my reg glasses and they fit perfect. Then he was looking over my sunglasses and told me he found the problem. Apparently, Eyemart Express had taken my lenses out, severely bowed my frames, my eyeglass case would not close, and when they put my lenses back in, they put them back in on opposite sides. That is why I could not see through them properly. The Walmart man switched the lenses, handed them to me to try on and Oh my gosh, I could see clearly, no problem. And correctly adjusted them. Thank you Walmart Vision Center! These were very simple adjustments for my glasses. Eyemart Express employees need to be more attentive, knowledgeable and respectful to their customers. read more

This location got my prescription completely wrong. I recently took my Eyemart Express glasses to my Dr. to check after getting migraines after each wear. The left lens didn't come close to my prescription. No wonder I've been feeling like crap for months. They need to get their instruments checked. And it's too late to return the crappy lenses. My eye doctor said a small error can sometimes occur....but in this case it was like the technician wasn't trained at all. The mistake is going to cost me double what I wanted to pay to replace the lenses and have a functional piece of eyewear. Be warned! read more

Extremely poor customer service. Went in with my mother to help her pick out glasses. This was our experience: Upon entering we were greeting and told about the specials/promotions. That was great! We picked out two pairs, the price was very affordable and we were on our way. We were called within 3 hours and told her glasses were ready, amazing timeframe and we headed over to pick them up. That's when the trouble starts. We walk in, explained that we're there to pick up glasses and the manager begins to assist us. While she's barking commands at my mom- put these on, take these off, look at this paper and so on, she's also having a simultaneous conversation with an unhappy customer on the other end of the store. It got so obnoxious that at one point I asked her to please go ahead and deal with the other customer so that my mother could get the proper attention needed during the fitting. We leave, my mother complains that the glasses are not fitting correctly, which is of no surprise due to the lack of attention paid to her during her original fitting. We go back again today and there's one other person in the store being helped. We sign in as instructed and wait. The other customer was helped and left the store, and the Eyemart employee spent an additional 5 minutes walking around the store fixing random glasses before she asked me what we needed, from the other end of the store (seems to be a trend to just yell at people). I mentioned that we needed my mother's glasses fitted properly. Does she walk over? No, she continues to yell over at us to explain exactly what the problem was with the fit. At that point I tell her it would be easier for her to come and take a look, and she huffs and puffs before she comes over to help. So I ask you, is that level of treatment worth saving a few bucks? It's not just me, look at the list of 1 star reviews and read them, we are all complaining about the customer service. They are truly living up to their name, they are the Walmart of Eyecare and I mean that in the worst possible way. read more

Being new to Austin this was the best experience with a vision retailer who does not rip you off that we have ever had and I have lived in 5 states! I would recommend this store to anyone needing glasses with or without insurance and they had my kid's 1st pair of glasses ready in minutes. Ashley was amazing!! She got us in and out in less then an hour! My son needed glasses because he failed the eye exam at the DPS, he was heartbroken that he couldn't get his permit. As a mom I wanted to see him happy, we went to the optometrists next door (who I highly recommend) and then to eye mart...as a long standing Costco girl I was surprised at the selection and the customer service...Ashley knew we only has a couple hours to get back to the DPS...boy did she deliver..He got his permit and once again was thrilled...Happy mom, happy son...all thanks to Ashley at Eyemart Express!! I went in to eye mart express in South park meadows at 6:00 pm I needed to repair my lenses, the wonderful lady in the store helped me she was wearing a blue head band ( I wish I had gotten her name) went to take my glasses back and told me that Mindy could have them done in 20 min. I am so pleased how quickly she worked to get this done for me. Then my son had completely broken his glasses and his prescription is rather strong but they are still able to get him his new glasses tomorrow. I recommend them, they always take care of me and there warranties are amazing. The staff and general manager are always super friendly and I could not go anywhere else for my glasses. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE! Went in to buy 2 pairs glasses and get eye exam. Was told glasses and lenses were in stock at that store and could be ready in a few hours for the first pair, second pair a day longer. I had already expressed my concern when ordering the glasses that since they advertised themselves as an "express" store with in-house lab I did not want to wait if a problem came up. Got a call saying 1 pair ready but second pair lenses were damaged by lab tech and they were going to special order new lens. Could not tell me how long, might be on next truck or maybe back order? Maybe week to 10 days? Just really no time frame to expect them to be ready. On the phone I stated my choice to accept the first pair and cancel the second pair. Since I already paid for everything they needed me at the store to credit my card. No problem since I was picking up the glasses anyway. Well, I get there and suddenly nobody is authorized to issue credit card returns except the manager who was not there. Really should have included that critical info when explaining the procedure for a refund. I sign in at 9:52 am and they hand me the finished pair without any type of case or cleaning kit or anything. Just a loose pair of glasses in my hand. Now the refund news about nobody able to help until the manager comes in next day. I tell them this is not what I want to hear as they took my payment with no restrictions and refunds should be just as easy. After about 10 minutes they find Melanie is able to issue credit card returns. I waited until 10:45 before she agreed to help since she was with another customer. Odd tho, that she came behind the counter several times to chat with other employees about the brand and flavor of coffees she bought. She never acknowledged my presence and avoided eye contact with me. Finally she and another employee struggled with the computer and how to credit the money back to my card. All the while repeating my story over and over to each coworker that inquired what they were doing. How about just issue my refund in a quick, polite manner and let me out of the store. Then you can tell every employee in the store every detail. If they think it appropriate to have a customer be there for an hour to get a little help, (it was about 7 minutes of their time to complete my transaction once they actually stopped ignoring me) then someone needs training or to be replaced. 7 minutes at the counter out of an hour just waiting and fuming. Slow? No, slow would be OK. How about 85 minutes to get new glasses. (and I was not the only one with this level of service) 85 minutes!! Who has that much time to wait? Its so brutal. When I arrived I was told 'we'll be with you shortly' so, I waited. After 30 minutes I was told the manager Dominique would be back 'shortly' to help as she was out running errands. No other staff was trained to sell me new glasses, I was told. Dominique arrived back one hour (60 minutes after my arrival) later. By now several others were waiting. She went in the back and when she emerged 10 minutes later, she did not ask who she could help, or who was next or who had been waiting. She proceeded to help a freshly walked in customer with a frames adjustment. I told her I had been waiting for nearly 70 minutes (for her as evidenced by the sign-in sheet) already and she said I would be helped 'shortly' but she never did help. She continued to help those fresh walk-ins who needed easy adjustments. She did not pay attention to the sign-in times nor care. I was so angry, so frustrated about how desperate I needed the glasses as mine had been destroyed the day before. Otherwise I would have not given this business a penny. $275.00 later, full price. No deal, no specials, no support. I was told if I could find a coupon in the paper and come back with it they could help me with a deal. I ended up with an expensive compromised and painful frames due to such low inventory. 2.5 hours of my day on this simple task and of course a return visit to pick up frames. Sounds unbelievable? Nope. It's the way of EyeMart at South Park Meadows and I am seeing consistent reviews. Hey ya'll, never again will we support this company. What a complete disaster of a business model in 2019 and rude employees. I hope that one-time $275 was the short term goal of this location/business because recommendations and return visits will never happen. read more
