So a short story to my visit with QVE. I had originally planned to just get my Annual eye exam with Howerton Eye Clinic a few min away. It was a good time but during my visit I had to get my eyes dilated which basically made it that I can't read *anything* within arms distance. Way too blurry. But I managed to find Quality Eyewear and took my new prescription there to get some new frames to replace my 4yr pair. The shop was on the smaller side sure but I didn't mind, the selection was various enough that there's plenty to choose from. I'm guilty of not asking the name of the associate who helped me but she was incredibly kind and most of all trustworthy. With my eyes dilated I couldn't read *anything* she was pointing to me on the price sheet (I think she mightve not heard me but I thought it was cute so I let her keep doing it). She was very descriptive about the options I had for my frames and while I had an idea what I wanted I wound up leaving with a couple addition improvements. Then got a call a week later that my frames had arrived via phone call. All around, this was a very pleasant visit and I was so appreciative of the associate who was patient explaining everything to me. It will be nice to visit in the future when I want another pair of glasses. read more

I had a pair of sunglasses restored - they were really old and needed a little TLC. The wonderful staff here were so helpful, and they fixed my glasses making them look like new! I was shocked, I didn't have high expectations but they really did a great job. I'll definitely come back here when I need new frames /lenses etc bc they're just so pleasant to work with. Outstanding locally-owned business. Was referred by E Z Frame Fix-It to create a new prescription lens while keeping and wearing same eyeglasses. Could not send frames in since needed them for everyday eyewear. Tino met with me and said I would be able to keep my present glasses while he had lens prepared and then return and he would then take my frames and insert the new lens. He also questioned the prescription details and would be contacting the optometrist. A long and detailed story later in dealing with the optometrist's office, I had another exam elsewhere and the prescription was different. He was such a pleasure to work with - kind, caring and genuinely concerned for customers. Excellence in everyway. Good selection of frames and reasonably priced. read more

I went to this place because it was listed as a provider for some discounts (datavision) my insurance plan (bcbs ppo) offers, and I wasn't expecting much. Somehow the I-35 frontage biased me into thinking the place was going to be shabby. But, they are great! The eye doc is super nice, thorough, has excellent equipment (from what I can tell - seemed the same as the expensive place I went to on Congress), and takes the time to talk to you. I learned I had been over-prescribed, or maybe my eyesight somehow improved. We took my glasses down a bit, and I'm glad for it. The desk service is good too. I had brought my own (vintage) frames, and they were totally fine with that. The woman who helped me was young, perhaps new to it, but clearly well trained, attentive, and not "salesy" at all. The prices are good because I had the discount plan, but I think they are good in general. I'd definitely give the place 5 stars, but their selection of frames seemed weak. If you are picky, bring your own, I'd say. read more

I was calling around to places that took my insurance, trying to set up an eye exam. I spoke with someone at Quality Vision, who took down my information (including insurance) and said they needed to take a minute to look at my insurance, but that they would call me back shortly to make an appointment. The call didn't come (at least not the same day, they called me back more than 24 hours later), and I wanted an appointment locked in somewhere, so I called somewhere else to set up an appointment. They also took down my insurance, but did not "have to check and call me back." So I show up to my appointment at the other place (Lenscrafters, who were actually great), and they tell me that I can't use my insurance, because another company is holding it and says I had an appointment. What? The very helpful woman at Lenscrafters called my insurance to find out what was up, and found out that a company I had never even heard of was holding my insurance. Apparently Quality Vision has two names? We were finally able to reach someone at this office to clear the hold off of my insurance, but it was a huge, frustrating pain in the ass. At no point did I authorize or was informed that they would be holding my insurance hostage when I didn't even make an appointment. When I spoke with someone here, they said it was standard protocol to do this. Hmm, then why did the other two offices I was shopping around at not do it? Would NEVER recommend. read more

I lost my glasses, but my insurance calls for a new eye exam and new glasses. So my insurance provider is eyemed and I was looking on eyemed's website to see who their providers are and this place was one of them. I set up an appointment half a week before. They don't tell me that they need more information from me until the day before my appointment. After giving them my information in order for them to search for me in their system...they tell me that they don't carry my insurance company even though they're on eyemed's website. I'm pretty sure they did this in order to dismiss me because i called them 20 minutes before they were closing. I'm walking around blind with constant headaches and needing a new prescription and now I have to wait another week to book an appointment because the people who work here are unhelpful and incompetent! read more

Unhelpful amateurs...I had a pass for an eye exam and glasses. They did not even give me an eye exam and only made up an eyeglass prescription that they paid no attention to the specifications I specifically requested (so, my eye pass/ticket is now wasted and I do not have eyewear that I need). Naturally, the prescription was wrong. If you use this place expect to make multiple visits back- it will not be done correctly the first time. read more

Not sure what all the bitching is about. I love complaining as much as the next person. I found this place to be extremely fast, very reasonably priced and fair. Sure, location could be better but seems ridiculous to take away a star for this reason alone. The frames are somewhat limited in number but I've always found Gucci and company to be overwhelming. You can actually try on lenses here without having an armed guard pick out each one. I think they had pricier frames under lock and key. Overall, a great place. read more

This is my 2nd time getting safety glasses from this location. It's not as easy to find as your more commercial locations but once you find it and walk in you kinda see why this spot offers cheaper glasses. Mostly ladies who work here and they all speak Spanish. I asked for safety glasses and they brought out 3 old boxes with the selections to pick from. I wasn't happy with any of them and the ones I kinda liked would cost out of pocket. My only suggestion would be to get some better options within a certain price. So I sat down, picked a pair and the lady helped me with my options. She seemed to go thru them one by one trying to explain what she knew and the other stuff she skipped. Come to find out, the one thing she skipped it was I really needed, tint. So I randomly called and requested they add it. She mentioned it would take longer but get it done. A couple weeks later they came in. They are better than what I had but in a year or 2 I will look to replace them and I might try a different location. Service was great tho read more

Just got the best and fastest service I've ever gotten at a vision center the only problem was that they wanted to upcharge you for everything including an eyeglass case fYI aren't they usually FREE with your glasses when you use your insurance I'm sure they got their full payment and included the eyeglass case except I walked out without one nevertheless thanks for the fast courteous and professional service. read more

Worst place ever! I received 2 trial contacts and liked them but when ordering the contacts I got told from them that they were each the same price ($100) for 6 MONTHS. I ordered ones that were 15 days each but turns out they only ordered me the 3 MONTH supply and that was for the the same price as the other contacts that lasted 6 months. Super unhappy. They couldn't give me a refund nor could I exchange them. These people do not do their research nor do they know anything about ordering contacts. NEVER SHOPPING WITH THEM EVER AGAIN!! read more
