Being a huge fan of Moose's and Bear's Tooth, I went in with high hopes! The building and decoration is absolutely top notch and what a convenient location... much closer for us South and East Anchorage folks! My orange cocktail was tasty and VERY strong (But Moose's Tooth is usually pretty generous with booze!) Fancy salad was chock full of pecans and cherry tomatoes and mozzarella. My companions weren't crazy about their burgers and sandwiches, but this new restaurant is probably still trying to find their signature dishes. Went in last night (4/11) with my friend and tried the "Tropic-like-it's-hot" burger that her brother created. (See photo) When I tell you my body ascended out of my body when I took that first bite, I'm not kidding. It was phenomenal. Definitely hope it'll stay on the menu! Normally I do not like pico, avocado, or onion but they all balanced out so well and the made-up sauce he came up with went perfectly with everything on the burger. Everything about this burger was delicious. It was juicy, burger meat was cooked just how I like it, and the original sauce was the perfect amount of spice added in. Also got fries with it (Truffle fries) Probably the first food dish I've ever had where the onion didn't overpower the flavor (I taste it pretty well otherwise), but I devoured the burger completely, which I never do at restaurants when it comes to burgers. It very well could've been I was so hungry, but even if I wasn't as hungry, i probably would've devoured it anyway. It's only available for two weeks, but it's if popular enough it'll stay on the menu and the Chef/My friends brother will be given some of the money from it! Which I think is super helpful and amazing of the restaurant to do. The vibe inside of the restaurant is amazing too, fire pit outside for while you wait, bathrooms actually have closed gaps (girls, iykyk) so it felt very safe, and the faucets were fancy. The lighting inside the building was perfect and the staff were so kind and welcoming. Ask about their future plans, it's very cool! Definitely worth the wait, and there's even a bar you can get drinks from while you wait for a table! Help support the chefs one of a kind dishes they come up with to help them firgure out their menu! Amazing building and overall vibe, definitely go visit there while you're visiting Alaska, or if you live here too! Best to get there a little bit before opening! The location is new and the ambience was great. It is a clean and slick spot. In regards to the food, our party ordered appetizers. The nachos and garlic knots were a hit for our group. I ordered a basic tavern burger but it was not good. The meat was odd, it reminded me of school lunch style burgers. My suggestion is to stick to appetizers and beer to play it safe. read more

Food + Good drinks as always for a Tooth restaurant - Sweet and sour wings were dry - Fried chicken sandwich was burnt (like actually burnt haha) - Poke nachos had a nice enough flavor but the chips were covered in the sauces so it was too much. - Pizzas were...not Moose's Tooth pizzas Service + Waitress was very friendly and attentive when needed, and not overbearing Ambiance + Tooth restaurants really have their ambiance figured out. + Beautiful outdoor waiting area with fireplaces and flowers. + Really cool little "huts" spaces for dining. Only been there once and was impressed with the remodel of the old La Mex. Hardly recognizable! The painted murals are amazing and nostalgic for this local foodie. They were still in the process of painting another mural in the larger sitting area- I can't wait to see the finished artwork! Love the vibe! The menu was small but had such variety. We had the poke nachos and goat cheese bruschetta appetizers - to die for!!! So NOMs! For dinner, I thought I go simple with a tavern waygu burger and a small classic pizza. As the waiter explained- the classic moose's tooth pizzas are there, but the powers to be want to evolve the menu for the locals. So if you find a favorite- tell them! They love the feedback and will place popular items on the permanent menu. I love that we can have an influence in creating their menu. Also, beers on tap AND cocktails ! This is absolutely the worst Detroit style pizza I've ever eaten. A half an inch of bread, a thin layer of melted cheese, and some pepperoni scattered on top. Really below the standard of pizza we have come to expect from the parent company, Moose's Tooth. It's basically cheesy bread, with almost no cheese. The sauce is not bad, but doesn't make up for a terrible pizza. If you want a decent Detroit style pizza, drive down to Girdwood and get the deep dish at Chair Five. read more

My mom and I were originally grabbing a late lunch at moose tooth but it was a little too far so we settled on eye tooth. We sat down and were almost immediately greeted by our amazing server, Brooklyn. She immediately recommended us a non alcoholic drink for me and put in our appetizers, which was a Caesar salad and garlic knots. Our drinks arrived and the salad was served minutes after ordering. Once we finished our appetizers we waited a few more minutes and our 2 entrees, a lemon chicken Stromboli and a Nashville hot chicken sandwich which were brought out minutes apart. The food was overall amazing and we brought take out for our family too. Also as we were leaving a server quickly spotted my mom's purse. Wound up here on a recommendation on an overnight in Anchorage. The place was pretty busy, but I was able to find a place at the bar. The joint has a rustic log cabin feel of a local brewery. Fun vibe, creative food (try their specials!), good service and good bartenders. Fire pit is awesome. Beware, however, that they have an outrageous "suggested tip" scheme, starting at something like 18% and going up DRAMATICALLY from there. You don't have to select their suggested tips, of course (I always do a custom tip at more traditional percentages like 15% for decent service, more for excellent service...) but these days the server hands you a mobile device and stands there, waiting for you to figure it all out. Percentages are percentages, so as prices rise, so, too, does the tip. There's no need to increase the percentage (I might even argue that now that servers don't have to pay tax on their earned tips, the percentage should drop). I still recommend Eye Tooth, but just look out for the tip gouge! read more

On a lovely summer day, we got seated next to an open row of French doors that usually look out to the deck, so we were inside and outside at the same time and it was beautiful. We ordered a small, thick crust, wild mushroom pizza and added steak for an extra fee - it was out-of-this-world good. I would order this again. My date insisted on water (although he loves their root beer) and I ordered a Blue Nose (hibiscus lime soda mixed with passion fruit and lime juices, and vanilla... yum!!!). Second time at Eye Tooth tonight. The food and atmosphere were amazing. We arrived around 6:30pm with a party of 3. Wait time was quoted at 35 minutes. We were able to get round of drinks at the bar while we waited. I had a cider and the other two had a banana daiquiri and eye tai. The cocktails were fantastic. The cider was crisp. The total wait for a table was 40 minutes, not too bad. Overall we each ordered individual entrees. The tavern burger, the Brie-jam burger and a pizza. All were fantastic. read more

Food was really good, for the most part and service was quick and friendly Nashville Nachos - 6/10 super yummy but wish it had more meat on it! Poke - 7/10 spicy with the wasabi and chipotle mayo (or whatever that was) but it was decent quality and was one of the better poke ive had in town! Just tasted more like a spicy tuna but other than that it was great and very filling despite being a starter, i had this as a meal. Brie Burger - 8/10 omg really yummy. First, the atmosphere is great before you even get seated. There are some great fire features to enjoy while you sip your beverage waiting for a table. Not a ton of seating but it's nice. The food was great! We had a salad and a Detroit style pizza. The only critique of the pizza is that the little cup pepperonis hold alot of grease and I would have liked a bit more of the yummy sauce. The dining room decor is very modern and even though there were a good deal of people in the room, we were by the window in a little bench nook, which felt cozy and intimate. The Teeth rarely miss and they certainly didn't here. I was a little skeptical regarding how good this place could be with bear tooth and moose's tooth already killing it, but I was very presently surprised. The tavern and Detroit pizzas are an awesome change of pace from the traditional moose's tooth pizzas. The new wing varieties are great new apps and all the rotating specials I've tried have been awesome. It's a more casual atmosphere than the other restaurants while maintaining the Tooth charm. If I could give 4.5 stars I would. Eye Tooth is still in their soft opening phase; and we waited as long as we could and finally gave in and went to check it out. Half of the restaurant is open as they staff up and get their menu to where they want it. Ten stars for service and actively asking for feedback: what do you like about your pizza? what would you change? Loved that. Ten stars for decor. It's a bit loud but all good vibes. We ordered the Detroit style Roadrunner. Good flavor profile and just needs the next step, and we gave them our opinion. Ordered takeout- a tavern pizza. It might be the worst pizza I've had in Anchorage. It tasted like a gas station pizza. The crust was very thin, which could be a plus for some people. There was almost no sauce. The hardened cheese was fused to the crust like you over-microwave cheese on a tortilla. Maybe this is supposed to be a lower-ish carb pizza. I don't know. It was bad. The ordering was efficient and people were friendly. We'll probably try again but we won't ever order the tavern pizza again. read more
