They have a good selection of frames here. I came here for my first pair of glasses and everyone there was really nice and helpful in helping me pick a frame that I liked. Once I ordered my glasses, they arrived in a little under 2 weeks. I ordered my glasses to be anti-glare but somehow the left lens had a smudge on the coating and I could see glare. I brought it back the same day and told them and they ordered a new pair of lenses while I got to wear the defective one. The new lenses arrived in a little over a week and they replaced the lenses on my glasses. Maybe because I'm not used to glasses but I found that my glasses are a little tight and pulls towards my face and leaves a mark on my nose and eventually that area starts hurting. I've come back to Eye Spy a few times and they adjusted the glasses for free each time. As long as you purchased the frames there, they will adjust the frames as much as you want. Really nice especially since I'm so new to glasses! Overall, this is a great Eye Glass place that has a great selection of designer frames and a staff that's great! The Eye Spy in Southland mall is hands down the BEST place to go for your optometry needs. My 10yr old son had his eyes thoroughly checked and tested for the correct proscription lenses about 6 months ago. Since then he has slightly damaged and bent the frames on a few occasions. Everytime we come in to get them repaired Rochelle and Sonia are more than happy to help. They don't even charge us unless they need to order parts in which they have charged us next to nothing! Today Gina patiently helped me find a new pair of sunglasses, and the owner Darren hooked up a small discount on my purchase. Other sunglass shops and huts have huge selections but the EyeSpy has Stylish Personel with the latest fashions in Eye Wear. Their prices are better, and the Staff is Top Notch! Bad service, I contacted them for a copy of my contact prescription and got no response. When they finally sent it to me via email my birthday was incorrect. I asked if they can correct it, I got no response. I asked for a copy of my eyeglasses prescription as well after getting my contact lenses prescription I got no response. Unless you have specific condition, I don't think getting your eye sight tested is super science. In that context, my experience with doctors at Eye Spy is not any different from my experience with other vision doctors. The reason I like Eye Spy is the collection of frames they have to offer. Most of the clinics that take VSP have very narrow frame collection. Eye Spy on the other hand has wide range of collection and their staff is quite friendly to help you try different frames. The only reason they don't get 5 star is because I know some other places are bit cheaper than Eye Spy in terms of frame prices. read more

This place use to be good! There is only one employee that works there now that knows what day of the week it is.... I wish I could remember her name so I can save you some time and frustration and keep her from being included in the bad wrap. I called and made an eye exam appointment, so on the day of my appointment I get there only for them to tell me I don't have an appointment so the lady I spoke with verbally gave me an appointment but didn't put in system. This is not the first time I have have bad service from this place and the time before was very recent also. This place is really expensive, but it was the only place I'd found that had a pair of frames that would fit my face. I paid the money and ordered the glasses, and stopped back in a week later to pick them up. First thing I noticed...I got the display model, and paid full price for the display model too. Second thing is that the frames were now crooked. Spent an hour and 15 minutes there as the receptionist tried and tried to adjust the frames over a dozen times, but still could not get it right. The receptionist even recommended that I take the glasses to another optometrist to have the properly adjusted. I ended up getting a refund and having to pay a $20 restocking fee because after adjusting the glasses so many times the lenses themselves were damaged. Dang...I'm a retail business owner myself, and I'm surprised a business like this survives. read more

I've been a satisfied customer of Eye Spy for a while now. I've ordered plenty of new frames and even contacts from them. They carry a great variety of frame styles and brands, most of which are very fashionable. They even carry sunglasses. My most recent visit was to order new contacts. I no longer have vision insurance, but they were still very affordable in comparison to other optometrists. The staff was very helpful throughout the process in which I made multiple visits (eye exam, contact lens fittings, order pickup). I dealt with a different staff member on just about every visit, but all of them knew my specific needs every time I came in. They do a good job of tracking patient information. All of them referred to me by name and were very polite. From Darren, to Cecy, to Rochelle and Jeana....ALL of them were very helpful! I made sure to write this review because of the great, personal service I received. That's not common at many businesses these days. I should also mention that the two doctors I visited with were also very helpful and knowledgeable. Each of them were able to answer ALL of my questions concerning wearing contacts. And I had plenty because it's been a while since I've worn them. But I received great information regarding everything about contact lenses - what to do, what not to do, how to care for them, etc. That being said, I would definitely recommend Eye Spy to you. I went there and asked for the cost of eye exam. The staff told me it will be fully covered by my insurance after they read my plan's coverage. So I booked an appointment. The doctor was nice though. After my exam, the staff showed me a different bill with a total amount almost doubled, and told me that I have to pay it out of pocket. I was surprised to see such a big difference. When I asked for more details, they kept saying that everyone else were paying this amount too. Finally, I talked to the manager, and was shown another bill that was different again from the first two. The manager kept saying that she's busy and refused to explain more. I feel that the manager was kind of rude when she refused to answer my questions but kept saying that we don't want your business. How can they give a patient three different bills for one simple eye exam without explaining why but just want you to pay them immediately. If you don't ask any questions, then they can make more money. If you ask questions, then they're busy or they say you're rude, because other people don't ask questions at all. I came in at two different days because of the good reviews I read. The first time I walked in, there were two people being helped. However, I did make eye contact with both individuals who worked there. I waited and looked around for a good 7-8 minutes. I love the different style glasses I saw but the customer service wasn't so good at all. I didn't get acknowledged the whole time I was there! Anyway, I came back at a different time and AGAIN... no "Hello" or "Can I help you?" or "I'll be with you in a minute". So, after five minutes...I just walked out of there. I came here after having a hard time finding a frame I liked at Walmart. I'm still under my dad's insurance which is VSP so the places we could go to were limited. After basically being told I'd have to buy new black frames in the male section, my dad and I decided to get our glasses elsewhere. This location is really close to our house, since we live only a block away from Olive Garden. Super easy to find and it's right by a mall entrance. Our experience there was fantastic. We had to wait for someone to be able to try on some frames, but that's okay because some one them are really expensive in the $400+ range. The lady who helped us pointed out which frames were for females and gave us a good price range. I ended up getting some Ray Bans since I'm turning super hispster lately. We were able to process our insurance really fast and only had to pay $132 for the frame, lenses, and anti-glare package which acts as insurance. Without insurance it would have cost us close to $300. Only about $10 more than what my dad had to play for his personal pair of glasses at Walmart. I would totally come here again since the people who work at the front desk are my age and can tell what I need as a young adult and service is speedy and not pushy. read more

Love this place. I have been coming here for a long time. The staff has always been great to me and my family. I recently moved to manteca from the bay and I continue to come here. They always match my needs and try their best to help me out. I had an incident a while back that caused me to lose the only glasses I had. Due to work I needed the glasses since I didn't have contacts to see, I scheduled an appointment and explained my situation. They were extremely helpful got me ready for contacts and even let me have a bunch of sample contacts to last me until I received my new pair of glasses. read more

BTW, I never leave reviews, but this is ridiculous! STRIKE 1: I went in for glasses and contacts and I do not feel like I was given a thorough examination. As someone previously mentioned, it was as if she simply used my previous prescription and called it a day. STRIKE 2: All they want to do is push name brand frames. I know what I want and your empty compliments won't sway me. Additionally, you can't browse in peace and avoid them as all of the frames are in locked cases. STRIKE 3: My contact lens prescription was issued showing Air Optix only. I have worn contacts well over 10 years and I have ALWAYS had the option of choosing the brand of my liking as long as the prescription matches. Total waste of time and money. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Im a very unhappy returning customer. I brought my old glasses for new lenses last March 24, 2017. I like my old frame which I bought from them. After 3 weeks I called them to inquire about my glasses but they told me it doesnt arrived yet. After a month passed - i received a call from them telling me that my lenses arrived. I went to pick up my glasses but they told me that the frame has not arrived yet. I keep on calling them but no answer, only recordings. Upset I went again but they told me that my frame was lost. They promised me that they will order the same frame. Today, thay called me that the new frame arrived but the lenses didnt matched. They said it will take another week. I got my first set of contact lenses from this place in 2007, and so last year when I got insurance again and my old frames broke, I needed new glasses, and I mistakenly returned. I chose these really cute Juicy frames, waited longer than expected, and when they finally came in, I had to bring them back because I wasn't able to see well in class and they were giving me headaches. After 2 weeks of giving me the run-a-round, Dr. Catanzaro saw me and informed me the perscription wasn't right! They told me I had to give them back the frames to send them back and replace new lenses in, but since this wasn't an option (because my old frames were broken) they had me waiting for weeks! They kept ordering lenses and whenever they called me in to put them into my frames (twice), both times the receptionist could not fit them into my frames. I kept having to call them to ask if my lenses were in and they seemed irritated with me as if it were my fault my glasses were broken, saying they "didn't know what to tell me". Finally, when I asked to speak to the manager, they mysteriously found a pair of frames identical to my new ones so that they were able to put the lenses back in. So, again, I decided to give them another shot in May. Bad idea, and that was my fault for going back but I did. This time I ordered contacts. They saw me the next day and I ordered them May 3rd. Today is June 14th and I have yet to receive my them, which I have already paid more than half for. The receptionist told me at the time I ordered them that it might take up to 10 days to get them because of my high prescription and my astigmatism, and I did not receive a phone call from them about it after that. I had to call 3 and a half weeks after I ordered them and ask what was going on. They said to give it a little more time. Again, run-a-round! I called twice after that, and finally the manager called me last Monday saying the contacts should be in Friday, if not then definitely Monday (today). The doctors are nice, I have never felt rushed or had issues during an appointment, and yes, they are friendly, but other than that I do NOT recommend this place to anyone. (update! i got my lenses FINALLY. made a follow up appointment that same day, but never got a call. I called and left a message about it and have yet to get a call back from them....so....) read more

Excellent Service! Came here after being referred by a friend of mine because they have a greta selection of frames that aren't typical to every Optometrist's office. Thank goodness I get reimbursed through my job because being almost blind comes with a price tag. The girls here are all extremely nice & despite how busy it got, they were very patient with me & didn't make me feel rushed! The optometrist was also great, i left my previous optometrist who i felt had no care towards my needs and was always trying to convince me to spend more!! She even made sure to come out while i was selecting glasses to let the girls assisting me what i needed in regards to the consultation we had. Great Place to get some High Price Styles that can fit in a budget. I have a few jobs very good jobs but 1 I look beat down and out and went to Eye Spy. Even beat down I was treated great. SO I got some Gucci eye wear. I received a call a week later that my Gucci style was discontinued I was sad but I went back selected another style and was in them in a few weeks Happy they worked with me fast to get me into another style. I had a really bad experience with Eye Spy Optometric. I went there because they were one of the few places that carried a brand of glasses called Silhouette. I ordered a pair of pink colored glasses, but before I ordered them, I had asked the worker a question- that if I didn't like them, could I take them back for a full refund? She told me yes as long as it was within a week of receiving them and that there would be a small restocking fee. So, I figure thats pretty cool since the glasses are fairly expensive... First off, I got the run around about the shipping time of the glasses, because I was promised they would arrive on a certain date, and when they never came I was promised another date... When I finally did get them, they were brown instead of pink. So I talked to the manager, I wasn't mad or anything, but he was unapologetic and he put the blame on me and said basically thats my fault because I had ordered brown. I think he went back and checked my order form, because the manager ended up taking the glasses back and ordering the pink ones which I had originally ordered in the first place... Now, when the pink ones finally came, they fitted weird and kind of hurt, so I asked the worker there if she could please adjust them, but she seemed like she didn't even care, like she was busy with other people, she dismissed it and said its because my hair was tucked behind my ear. I had a witness with me and he was surprised that the worker just kinda brushed me off like that. It wasn't even because of my hair... The worst part... I didn't like the way the glasses looked on me. So, I asked the manager if I could please return them, again I was polite and not imposing, but he blatantly said no, I couldn't return them (even though it was within the time frame of returning them). I told him that one of his workers told me that I could return them, but he still said no. I didn't want to argue, so I left it at that... Still more frustration... Again I got the runaround with the manager about the paperwork so that I could bill my insurance for reimbursement... It was all in all a very frustrating experience with Eye Spy, especially when it seemed like I could never get ahold of the manager, he was always gone to lunch or left for the day. I was patient and nonaggressive, and I felt really uncomfortable asking them for help or pointing out their mistakes, because the manager was really dismissive, like he seemed to be stressed out or didn't even care... I just received the worst service by this person named Angelica. She doesn't have basic customer service skills and gets argumentative with the customer. I have always come to this place ever since I was wearing glasses and this is not what I expected in terms of service. The way she was talking to me it felt like she was giving me the frames for free and I had to except the bullshit that was coming out of this persons mouth. I was getting a pair of safety glasses that had foam around it and I didn't want those because it was a display one and has been tried on by other people. She was comparing them to clothes at the mall, excuse me it's not the same. You cannot wash the foam material out like I do with my clothes when I buy them from the store. My concern was hygiene and she was clearly not respecting that. When I asked for another person to help me she got offended and went on to threatened me she was going to call the security on me. I was not being loud and I was not being aggressive I asked to speak to the manager or someone else to help me out. I stated this has been my choice of stores for years now but she didn't listen to me and went on to act has if she owned the place and I had to except how they operated. She is not fit to work at a institution as such because she clearly doesn't understand customer service nor does she respect there opinions. She didn't make me feel rushed like LensCrafters in the same mall. They never made me wait, they were on point. They took me in 2 minutes before my appt and had me in and out even with such a thorough exam. She had made a few suggestions for my contacts and I feel like I know so much more about my vision now even though I've had to wear glasses for about 6 years now. Twice, when they didn't have the very specific information I was looking for, they investigated and had answers for me when I picked up my glasses. Jeanna is the best optician I've ever encountered and I've been wearing glasses for over forty years. I did not think I'd ever be comfortable with progressive lenses but she sets them up so that I'm usually not even aware I'm wearing them.
