I found iSmart Optometry through Yelp as it had one $ sign for affordable. Call them Saturday afternoon and have an appointment Sunday afternoon. They were very professional nice and Pleasant on the phone, so I went there. They gave me an eye exam for $40 and replace the lenses in my reading and seeing glasses for $40 a piece for basic lenes. I was out of the office within 20 minutes/$120 and hung around the Asian Garden Mall/food court and had a great time. I saw there Buddha shrine in the mall.

Found this place through yelp and called to make an appointment. They open on Sunday which is very convenient for me since school starts monday. Come in, Alex is so helpful. He even called to remind me about my appointment, and he helped to pick out my glasses too. Thumbs up!! Doctor is great and friendly, he is ver knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions that I have. This place is a must go to if you want to get your eyes exam or glasses. Great service! Kevin was very helpful in helping me try out frames that suited my needs. And Alex was very friendly and professional when completing the transaction. We went to several places and they seemed to have the best price quotes for lenses! Although they had a large selection of frames, I did end up purchasing frames that I personally liked better elsewhere and bringing them in to have the lenses put in. read more

BY FAR THE BEST EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD! Everyone, I mean EVERYONE is so pleasant and nice. Dr. Nguyen is so informative and really knows how to care for his patients. Dr. Adrian and his staff never fail to give great service!! Went for an eye exam and for a new pair of eyeglasses yesterday after 2 years. Very accommodating and friendly people. I changed my insurance provider a year ago and I was worried that I would no longer be able to go to EyeSmart but luckily my new insurance is accepted here. I wouldn't want to go to a different optometrist. Love love love this place!! So many nice frames to choose from and prices are great too! Meet the Manager: Dr. Andrian N.

Welcome to Eye Smart Optometry! Dr. Andrian Leon Nguyen grew up in Los Angeles and received his B.S. in Psychobiology at the University of California, Los Angeles. He was honored with the UCLA Chancellor Service Award for his involvement in the Vietnamese Student Union as co-president, student government, honor societies, and community service. His favorite activity was tutoring youths at Westminster High School for three years. Dr. Nguyen continued his education at the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned his doctorate degree in Optometry. He completed clinical externships at the Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System in Washington State, La Clinica in Oakland, and Alameda County Medical Center. Dr. Nguyen is licensed by the National State Board of Examiners in Optometry and the California State Board, and is certified for Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease and patient care. He speaks Vietnamese, Spanish, and basic Korean.

I recently had to get prescription glasses for my first time (I'm getting old). I got them here and…read morethe process was painless. I was able to get my vision tested and worked with my insurance to choose a frame that i liked in about 30 mins. I came back in a day to pick them up. This is not why I'm writing this review. Being new to having to carry glasses around, I knew I'd either lose them or break them eventually. The latter happened when I was in a hurry to get to a funeral and forgot that I put them on my car seat. I drove a whole hour before I realized I had been sitting on them the whole time. I thought they were surely cooked; they were bent to hell with one of the lenses completely cracked. I was preparing to pay full price to replace everything, but they told me to come in to see if they could fix them. When I brought them in, the guy in the back was able to bend them back in place right there and they told me to come back the next day for the replacement lens. When I got them back it they looked like nothing ever happened and they only charged me for the one lens. In this world, you need a car place, a tire place, a hair place, and now I learned you need also eye place. I'm glad I found Bo An to be my eyeglass place on my first go! Whoop!

He lost his right eye because of LASIK surgery issues and he has trouble seeing because his glasses are so old and in need of a new one. Talking about Eye Smart, we consider the following: PROS: - Small new office but clean and nice. - Well display. - Carry most popular brands. - Friendly staffs with saying "thank you" which most businesses, especially in Asian Garden Mall, do not. CONS: - The selection of most brands here is outdated. - Discounts are given different from one to another (my cousin bought one Prada sunglass here with a good deal of 40% discount which she would pay the same price somewhere else or online but they just offered me 25% with same brand), - Prices of most brands here are higher than somewhere else so the best way is trying to BARGAIN the most if you could, especially in Asian Garden Mall where prices are unstable. - There's no licensed optician here which made me surprised most for a new business like Eye Smart!!! The only supposed-to-be-called optician here is a young male who told us he's an intern so we couldn't trust to let him adjust anything. - Doctor's wife introduced herself to us as a jewelry designer and sales but she still consults patients with lens options and other stuffs. If so, how could we trust someone whom obviously not in optical field? - The most ridiculous thing is the optometrist himself appeared in sales floor and turned out as one of the optical salespersons in the store. We haven't seen anything like this and it showed no professionalism. For such a brand new business like Eye Smart, buying a non Rx sunglass or eyewear as well as its authentic is okay with us but doing other services based on their experience, we'd better think wisely twice or more. Anyway, going to optometry office with experiences in years is always considered in the first place. read more

Who here has ever been in this situation? You just need to get your annual check up done, for whatever reason. You're on a budget, no insurance, but you want service fitting for any decent human. Nearly everyone yes? I've always been wary of Asian places, having grown up in some not so great service. Plus this is in the Asian Garden Mall, not exactly the best reputation here. But as a college student I can't exactly afford the prices of a lot of Western optometrist. To be honest though I only came because my family recommended it. What a relief this place was! Both the shop and office were clean and comfortable. They spoke both fluent English and Vietnamese so it's was good for both my mom and I. The doctor was a very chill guy, no grumpy old man staring me down here! He was knowledgeable yet very friendly, answering any questions or concerns, and did not make small talk uncomfortable (thank you!). For the price and service I got, I'd say this is the best of both worlds. The staff and environment makes you feel welcome. Eye exams aren't fun but they make it pleasant enough. I don't need any new glasses but they have a lot in stock and display. Guys section, girls , kids, sun and all that fun stuff. Not my thing but eh, mom was happy. I'd say tell your friends. Save them money and horrible childhood/adult experiences at the doctor's office by going to Eye Smart. Flexible schedule, get in, be treated well, get out and go home satisfied. read more

I went into the shop and all I was planning to do was too pick up my daughters glasses. After I was done with what I had to do.. I took a quick look around before I left and this lady came up too me asking if I needed help and being polite. It was nice at first but she kept going on and on trying to sell me this expensive frame. And I gave in and I wasn't to happy with how she left me..ONE because she didn't listen to what I wanted..TWO because I was only there to pick up my daughters glasses and then just leave. And THREE she was too lazy to finish me off, she wanted me to wait for someone to help me fill out the paper work. I think I waited for about 10-15 minutes for someone, and all she did was ask for my name and she went to clean my frame and got a case. I was upset because she made me wait for something when I was honestly trying to leave. It was very unprofessional of the other lady and " lazy". I don't think I'd go back there. I was looking forward to going to a new place to get my eyes examined. I have Medical and I saw that they had good ratings. When I arrived I asked the girl (who didn't introduced herself) to check if it was my time for an exam. She said I was able to do my exam that day and I told her that before that I wanted to check out the frames that was only covered. She showed me the Medical frames, and then at the end she said there was a 30 dollar copay, because the frame was 120 or something. All the places I've been too, frames were always covered, I thought this place would have a better selection. I turn the exam down and went to a different office and found same kind of frames that were fully covered. read more

I'll start my review with a big kudos to Dr. Nguyen and his staffs at Eye Smart. I came to Eye Smart and saw Dr. Nguyen for a regular eye examine but Dr. Nguyen end up saving my eye. He diagnoses a small tear in my eye that saves me from going blind. Here's where I think Dr. Nguyen stand out, even the eye specialist (ophthalmologist), whom ends up repairing the tear think Dr. Nguyen's diagnose, was a "good catch". Also the staff were great, they know their eye wear. I end up getting a nice pair of sunglass for a very reasonable price. If you want someone that is honest and a true profession, give Eye Smart and Dr. Nguyen a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

My family needed a new optometrist and we found Dr. Nguyen through his excellent yelp reviews. Dr. Nguyen's office was very organized and professional. The doctor himself was thorough and friendly. After my exam Alex helped me pick out a pair of glasses that suited me and my lifestyle. He was so helpful and patient, he made sure I understood my options and went above and beyond to ensure everything was as affordable as possible. Every year I come back I feel like theres always new employees. Not my business, but when i was signing and sitting on the chair i could hear the employees talking smack about the customers and saying how shitty their hours were and how the doctor was acting today. They were saying like, " hide from the camera because the doctor is watching us from the camera" or like " Dr is watching" which was creepy. It's not my business but Dr Adrian you should set your employees straight, because they are speaking loud. I won't be saying the name of the employee. read more

Came in to get an eye exam. Everyone was really nice and helpful. Upbeat employees really welcoming. Ordered my glasses the same day, and when it came time to order Alex was really awesome. He explained what my boyfriend and I needed and what we didn't need, without adding on extra things that other eye places try to charge.
