This is a honest opinion of their business and my recent experience. I felt truly mistreated and unappreciated when I spoke to the person at the front counter over the phone and at their office. The front desk person, which I presume to be the doctor's daughter, came accross as rude and uncaring. To be transparent, I received the prescription from their office but ordered my glasses through Costco. After receiving my glasses, I noticed that my vision was not clear. Costco said they would re-do my lens but said to check with the optomitrist to make sure my prescription was correct. I was asking if they can recheck my prescription. She was dismissive saying that it was an issue was with the lens. I explained that Costco had an older prescription and my vision was worse then but better now. She said that my vision got better. Which could be the case but I can tell that my vision has gotten worse over the years. That's why I went to get new glasses. Granted all could be true and it may be the lens, which I will get redone, but it was her attitude and treatment that I felt is the biggest issue and why I'm posting my review. Yelp may want to bury this under bad reviews and others may post good reviews to average out my bad one. This is a honest and true review of my experience. I never had a bad experience until now. THERE IS NO PUFF TEST!! Dr. Kim and the ladies up front were welcoming and helpful. I was in an out in 45 minutes and Dr. Kim is was more knowledgeable than any other optometrist I have visited. So I came here off group in because I really needed a contact prescription. I'm saw dr kim and he was fantastic very personable and nice. Clean facility and great staff. They tightened my old glasses free of charge for me when I went to pick up my contacts. The only downside was the price. It's 95 dollars for one box and two boxes will last you 3 months if you do the 1 a days like I do. I asked if I buy in bulk will I get a discount and he says oh yeah I'll give you a great discount. Lets do the math: the total for a year would be 8 boxes times 95 equals 760. Okayyyy lets see the discount he will give 40 dollars. That's literally like 5% So I would rather just take my prescription and go to Costco and buy the contacts for a reasonable price but then they charge you $25 for your prescription if you don't order. Kinda seems like a money sucking hole here. read more

I found this place based on my vision insurance. Its 5 minutes from my house (super convenient) and located near Woodbridge Lake. The office is really clean. The front desk receptionist/Assistant Elaine is super nice and very knowledgeable. She knows what she's talking about, what she's doing and knowledge about fit and shape to your face. She told me the pro's and con's of each sunglasses(for my face), the shade of lens, the type of lens and etc. (I was there for prescription sunglasses). She answered all my questions thoroughly and i appreciated her help and her enthusiasm. No doubt the best receptionist/assistant that I have ever met at any office. Love her personality. Dr. Stanton Kim was super super nice as well. He was very easy-going, and very caring. You don't get a lot of Dr's who care about the well-being of their patients/clients.. they just want to write you a big fat bill and move unto the next person, but not Dr Stanton Kim. He made sure to go A-Z about your eyes, how to take care of your eyes, what to eat/do to keep your eyes healthy, and made sure to make you feel comfortable and know that you're being well-taken-care-of. He has the top of the line equipment, which i have not seen, painless equipments and comfortable setting/atmosphere. Generally, i felt like he actually cares about you and your eyes. I came back a couple days later to pick up my sunglasses and he remember my name which i thought was super awesome and again, caring. I'm glad i found this optometry b/c it looks like i'll be going to Dr Stanton Kim for a very very very long time. (My dentist still doesn't remember my name even though he has my dental charts/paper work in his hands all the time) I recommend everybody to go to Dr Stanton Kim b/c he makes you feel like he cares for the well-being of your eyes and your overall health, and just a honest person. I was a little worried due to the reviews I read on Yelp about this doctor's place, but I chose this doctor due to Aetna coverage eligibility and the proximity to my house. I have to say it was alright I made a visit to get my checkup on a saturday morning. I didn't get much coverage for frames and lens and was recommended the dual contact lens which is a hybrid of both soft and hard lens but unfortunately being $800 and only being covered $200 opted not to do so this year, perhaps next year. Unfortunately to say, my first impression of this office was negative. I had scheduled my appointment in advance and received reminders by email and text message from this Optometry for my appointment but when I arrived for my 10 am appointment, they were still not open and I had it to wait an additional seven minutes for anyone to show up. Fortunately I'm not that busy of a person and I wasn't on a tight schedule but the tardiness of the staff made my visit take longer than it should have. On a positive note, I found the staff to be very polite and accommodating and I was fitted for a great pair of glasses that I was happy with. Once my actual appointment started it was quick and enjoyable. I don't expect that the tardiness of the staff I experienced is a regular thing and I don't want to give that impression but this was my experience today. read more

I just moved to Orange County and was looking for a new optometrist. I found a Groupon for this place and decided to risk the randomness. I'm glad I did! The eye exam was much more comprehensive than the one I was used to back East. I've seen Dr. Kim and Lim, and they both were very knowledgeable and helpful with my contact lens fitting. I was given trial lenses and came back for multiple check ups (at my insistence and theirs). I ended up with a lens that worked for me and I couldn't be happier! Good people, very professional and a very nice office. I thought they might push a certain manufacturer on me, but they let me try out several lenses. I found Eye Contact Optometry and Dr. Kim through a Groupon deal in 2015. I'm so glad I did! I've had eye vision problems literally since I was born so I'm quite familiar with optometrists and their practices. Dr. Kim and his staff are awesome! My first visit a year ago was beyond great, I left there with clear vision and a smile on my face from laughing. First off, his office is super clean and nice and his staff are truly kind and helpful. Dr. Kim is the best, he's so nice and super funny. His personality alone is cause for return to his office. But more importantly, he was extremely thorough with my eye exam. He explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it. He also explained each option that would suit my vision best. I was completely satisfied with his service. This year, I was due for my annual eye exam and noticed the same Groupon for Dr. Kim. What's great is that repeat customers are able to use his Groupon. So my boyfriend and I both got one and visited Dr. Kim this past Saturday. His office was even nicer than last year. He definitely keeps up on vision technology and has state of the art equipment. His equipment was more high-tech than last year. My boyfriend is a pretty tough critic and he loved Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim had him laughing and thoroughly understanding his eye exam and vision options (same as my first visit). It was a really pleasant visit for both of us. And we both left with clear vision. We were especially excited about that! Dr. Kim earned another patient with my boyfriend's visit and we will both gladly continue having Dr. Kim as our optometrist for as long as we're able, with or without the Groupon deal. Don't bother going to any other optometrist, Dr. Kim is by far one of the best! As a UCI working college student, my schedule always crazy; however, whenever I need to run by and see the doctor, there is never any wait! Dr. Kim and Elaine (his assistant) are so nice and really work around your schedule to see you! After many years of using ortho-k lenses with other doctors, I was never satisfied and kept getting the wrong prescription,but Dr. Kim was able to get my prescription to 20/20 within the first try! He is really knowledgeable about his field and truly cares about his patients! In addition, his prices, compared to other optometrist are great and even lower for every year you go! I came here earlier this year in February because it's close to my house and was so delighted that their services are so exceptional! I'm happy to have found a place that I can stick to for a while. I came to get a new round of contacts. I have bad near-sighted vision. Dr. Kim suggested that I try hard contacts because of the fact that I wanted to get laser eye surgery. Dr. Kim informed that in order to get laser eye surgery, your vision should not change in a 2 year period. I'm surprised that no other optometrist has told me this before. I've had contacts since the 7th grade and every time I get new ones, my vision has always gotten a little worse. He explained that hard contacts are much more effective in stopping your eye shape changing, which in turn stops your vision from getting worse. Again, I was upset that no other optometrist told me this before! But because hard contacts are not necessary just like laser eye surgery, my insurance did not cover a lot of the cost. I had to pay most of it out of pocket. However, Dr. Kim's office did give me discount, which I was very thankful for. I purchased hybrid lenses too, which are also more expensive than lenses which are hard all the way through. Immediately after wearing them, I realized how bad my soft contact lenses were. Hard contacts are designed to fit the prescription of each eye like eye glasses whereas soft contact lenses do not have that degree of specification because they are just stamped out in pre-prescribed numbers. With the hybrid lenses. there is a guarantee to switch out the lenses if they are in any uncomfortable. After about two weeks wearing them, I experiencing some irritation in my right eye. I went in and Dr. Kim said the lens was a little tight and ordered me a new one. He also said my left one was a little tight and asked if I wanted a new one for my left lens, too. At the time it felt fine so I said okay. However, a couple weeks later it was irritating me so I went in again and he ordered me a new lens. Now they are perfectly comfortable. I'm so please with how easy going in to see him was and how quickly he was able to reorder the lenses for me. The office administrator is quick to reply on email and even set up appointments on gchat, which is super convenient. I'm very pleased with the services and information I received from Eye Contact Optometry and I hope in a year my vision will have stayed the same! read more

I came here because I was in the area and I had also broken my glasses and was in need of getting new ones ASAP! Dr. Kim made me feel very comfortable and at ease throughout the entire process from getting my eye exam to picking out frames that I felt suited me well. He's the type of person who genuinely cares about his patients and tries to help them the best way he can. For instance, since my glasses were broken, I thought I was going to be walking around aimlessly blinded for about a week until my new glasses were ready, but Dr. Kim wouldn't insist on me leaving his office without something to help me see better. He gave me a small supply of temporary contact lenses that I could wear until until my new glasses were ready. I've never worn contacts before, but he walked me through the proper steps of how to put them on and such the correct way. He was patient with me since I was a little worried of putting something into my eyes. I went in for a contact lens exam. Receptionist team: very friendly and helpful. As my insurance would only cover 25% of the fees, the team suggested the groupon deal they had. I ended up paying $59 instead of $85 (if through insurance). I really appreciate that. Dr. Kim: very friendly and professional. He explained things to me in a very detailed manner and was very patient with my questions. I was given a 5-day trial for the lens, and another 5 after I came in a second time to talk to him about the blurriness from the first 5. This is a very unprofessional establishment. They have had to reschedule my appointments on two occasions. The first time because the doctor fell ill. Okay, yes I understand. However, the second time was for that same reason, "the doctor has became too ill to take patients today". Coincidence? I think not. The original appointment were days apart!
