Short review, experience not so good…read more The details: Had an exam in December and explained to Dr Davies what I need for bifocals for reading my PC and vehicle instrumentation. I felt the exam went well. After the exam the fit tech (not sure exactly what their title is) had me pick frames and took measurements. I explained to her as well that my new specs were for my PC. She asked specific questions about the lens options. A few days after this visit it dawned on me she didn't ask about the blue blocker on the lenses for monitors, so I called and asked if that was included. The answer was no, but they would add that protection to the Rx and that would delay delivery of the lenses. I was good with that, so the wait was on. The wait took about 5 to 6 weeks, but the holidays were in there, so this might be the norm for this time of year. When I went to pick up my new specs, they fit perfect. Didn't take but a few minutes and I was out the door, which is where this story goes south. I hopped it the truck, hit the start button, and when the instrument panel lit up, everything was a blur. Couldn't read anything with either the distance or bifocal part of the lens. If I recall correctly, it was near the end of the day, so I decided to head home rather than go back inside. I couldn't understand how the Rx didn't work after explaining to the doc the distance I needed them to focus on. I decided not to contact the office, but rather see if anyone would call to follow up on new specs. I believe I waited about 2 weeks, and when no one called I decided to send them an email stating the issues that I had and that I could drop them off at the office and they could donate this pair to someone who may need them. The office returned my email with a phone call and asked if I would come back to the office so the doctor could reevaluate and make adjustments. I agreed. Back at the office I explained to Dr Davies the issues I was having. She had me try several different lenses on a portable frame that I used to look at the instrument panel from that distance. After several lens changes we believed we had a winner for the distance I needed. For the long range lenses, I still wasn't too sure about. Didn't seem to be as good as what I had. I was able to read several things throughout the office at different distances but thought it could be better. That's when the fit tech caught me by surprise. She said, "But will they work?" Then she repeated it. This was definitely the turning point for me. I stated, yes, they could work, but why would I pay for new glasses that just work? I expect them to be better than what they are replacing." Dr Davies was standing there and didn't say a word, which was also disappointing. So Dr Davies suggested I try the new specs for a week and take notes of what wasn't working for the distance, which is what I did. I noted several issues, including the fact that my eyes seemed strained when wearing them under LED lighting. This info was communicated via email. I did state that I wouldn't be back, that I would wait later in the year and attempt a new pair. I never received a response, maybe due to my comment, but would have thought I would have least got an OK or something. I'm not trying to run the business out of town. I prefer the smaller businesses rather than the big box stores, but I can get glasses and "make it work" anywhere. This is just one opinion, and maybe others will have better luck, however I will seek services elsewhere. So, 2 stars. 1. Dr Davies. Seems dedicated. 2. The store was clean, well maintained. Yes, clean matters.
