Wife had service here in June, they contacted us in OCTOBER that there was an issue with the billing. Any time you wait to resolve billing issues after 6 months, it becomes very difficult to work with insurance companies and I'm sure they knew that... so they gave themselves 1 month to figure this out. Whatever they asked for (pre-authorization from my wife's PCP) we gave them but they still had an issue because apparently they didn't get what they needed. After I called to try and resolve this matter (and their mistake on extending this timeline so long), whoever I spoke to was super rude and condescending as if I was in the wrong.. "Well did you call back to make sure we received the referral?!" No I didn't, I don't work for you. If they had an issue, don't wait 5 months before saying something. I don't recommend anyone coming here. Super expensive anyways and they have horrible customer service... any other company would admit fault and write off the (less than) $200 fees they were trying to collect. Their doctors are fine, can't really say anything bad about the care. But then if you need contacts or glasses just be ready to pay $$$$ or go elsewhere anyways. read more

My issues are with Clarkson's "Eye Care Partners Central Billing" - Overcharged for daughter's contact lens fitting ($142.80 should have been $60 copay), - 2 months later (after multiple calls and confirming with insurance that no claim had yet been filed): "Please wait a few more weeks for processing" - I've already waited 2 months (after we were overcharged in the first place). Extremely frustrated. - Also fun that my solution: "refund me the overcharge, and then YOU wait 30-45 days." was somehow "not possible" Our location in Novi, MI was previously Town and Country, never had an issue in the past, optometrists are nice to work with, too bad the corporation behind them sucks. read more

The customer service at this location has continued to go downhill since Town & Country was bought by Clarkson Eyecare. Now it's just a big soulless corporation with an overseas customer service & billing department. My last visit was in November 2024. I received an additional bill the first week of June 2025 - 7 months after my visit! Trying to speak to someone about this is impossible. My family will not be going back. It's been awhile since I've had my vision checked and suspected that I might need glasses. Nearby to work with excellent reviews I thought I'd try out T&C. First off they're temping everyone before they enter and require masks from their staff and patients. COVID safe - check. Their staff was very friendly and thorough. Alicia was fantastic to work with and Dr. Rose was delightful and explained everything understandably. T&C...highly recommended. My only suggestion is that they didn't mention anything about payment or cost until after I was already picking out frames. It left me feeling a little uncomfortable not knowing exactly what I may be getting into expense-wise. When they did broach the topic they informed me that I had dual vision policies and what my out-of-pocket would be if I chose to proceed. That said, a short explanation given sooner would've put me at ease even more than their staff already had. read more

I had an office visit for an eye exam in 3/2023 where I only received a very quick partial exam of one eye! The doctor proceeded to have a non-medical conversation; did not complete the exam. I brought this up at the front desk but was ignored! I am being billed for a full exam including evaluation for eye wear which was never performed. All contact regarding billing has been via text messages from their out of state billing office. When I did contact billing they refuse to adjust the billing telling me I received a complete exam and evaluation for eye wear because it is identified with billing code on the bill! I have reported this business to the Attorney General State of Michigan. read more

I would only go to this practice if you have time to waste. I had an appointment and after waiting for 30 minutes, I asked to reschedule. I was given an appointment for the next day -- first one of the day. I had some images taken and was shown into a room and told "the doctor is just finishing up with another patient and will be right in". 45 minutes later no doctor appeared, so I left and will not return. read more

Had my first appointment yesterday and it was fantastic! Let me start off by saying, THEY DON'T HAVE THE EYE PUFF MACHINE. Boom, you should be sold on that alone. If that doesn't convince you, I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Rose and her assistant Kendall (I don't know what the technical term is for a non-doctor but not-front desk person! Eek sorry). So thorough, timely, organized, easy to talk to - felt like I've known them both for years. Office was beautiful and clean. My appointment went so smooth, and even my dad stopped by to pick out glasses. Such an excellent selection. Everyone I encountered was just a delight. PS, if you like country music you will love this office's soundtrack! haha, also super easy parking, which for an anxious girl like me, is comforting. read more

Even in the time of COVID, my eye exam at Town & Country was excellent. Dr. Kirk and his staff were thorough and explained the results in detail. The COVID precautions were appropriate -- my temperature was taken, I was asked screening questions and the lobby chairs were 6 feet apart. Everyone wore masks. I also bought a pair of glasses. The selection was good and they were very helpful throughout the process to get me the best deal with my insurance. My only complaint was that it took 6 weeks to get an appointment. I made a Saturday appointment (8/12/23) a month in advance and the night before I was told I needed to reschedule. I was told this at 4:57 and they close at 5:00. When I called to reschedule, the receptionist texted me the place was closed and I'd have to call back tomorrow. I told her how badly I needed the appointment because I needed my eyes checked for a pair of readers. Getting work done was becoming unbearable. She told me to try CVS for a pair, which I have tried in the past without success. I had to wake up early on Saturday morning to reschedule. Also, I was never told why my appointment was cancelled in the first place. I understand that unforseen things happen but a little heads up and an explanation would have been nice. I have gone here in the past and it was outstanding which is why I went back but I am not sure going forward. read more

This used to be a good place - when it was Town and Country eyecare. It continually has gone down hill since then. We showed up for my daughter's appointment and they told us she was not on their schedule, even though I was able to show them all my text and email confirmations for that exact time and date. They called and cancelled my son's appointment (which was fine) - but I had to call 5 times to reschedule it. Every time they sent me to a call bank that told me they would leave a message for the office to call me, but no one ever called. This happened over the course of a month until I was finally able to get it rescheduled. They have reduced their hours and closed the office on Saturdays, one of the selling points of us going here to accommodate our busy schedules. I called and asked to get a copy of my son's prescription. They told me yes, they would email it. Two hours later, nothing, so I called again. This time I got the phone bank and they said "I'm sure they will get to it eventually, if they don't send it in a couple of hours you will just need to keep calling back." I finally decided enough is enough and we moved our entire family to another provider. read more

I thought I had a pretty good eye doctor. I thought, hey, it looks like my current office has all the fancy equipment it can have, the staff is nice, and there's quite a nice selection of frames. So many frames. But, turns out I was wrong and didn't know what I was missing until I found Town & Country Eyecare. A good friend from college, if you can believe this, lives in Wisconsin but ONLY gets his glasses and annual eye exam at Town & Country. That seems crazy, but now I understand. I've never had a more thorough eye exam. My old eye doctor only had HALF the machines and right away, Town & Country discovered what I kinda thought I was noticing for a few years. My astigmatism is worse than diagnosed, and I needed higher power bi-focals for reading. Yes! I knew it!!! Town & Country saw the floaters I've had since birth, and we talked about those. Remember when I said they didn't quite have as many frames as my old eye doctor. Well, that doesn't really matter now that I think about it. The main thing is the quality eye exam. It's a little far from my house, but I'm closer than Wisconsin and my friend Dave. I'll probably only go once or twice a year. So, I'm good with that. Everyone was friendly. Doctor Crissman spent alot of time with me (also a refreshing change). I know it's only my eyes, but I look at things all day (haha) and want the best view of the world as I can have. Dr. Kirk provides excellent care, explaining what he sees in scams and tests, allowing you to participate in key decisions about your eye care strategy. The machines and tools are state of the art. I went here on a recommendation from my girlfriend, they found a small cyst inside my eye lid, I've seen many eye doctors in my life and no doctor ever saw it or alerted me to it, Dr. Jared noticed it right away, he had me get it checked out. Had it removed, turned out to be nothing, but left untreated could have been really bad, so right there he potentially saved my life. They have a very comfortable office, great doctors and staff, that are friendly and professional, and probably one of the best reason is i love their frame selection, stylish frames, fair prices and they take my insurance. They also keep late hours it think to 8 on select nights? So it's easy to get the after work. They'll repair glasses and make adjustments any time for free. I like this place. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Amy for over 10 years. My wife and daughters have visited there as well, and they even accommodated my mother when she was visiting us and had an eye injury. They are a great compassionate team of doctors and staff, I trust them implicitly with my eye care and the eye care of my family. They have a great selection of frames and they work patiently with you to help select frames that make sense for you and look good. I really enjoy the time they take... They're not in a hurry, and they have great customer service. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anybody looking for a quality optometrist in Novi or the surrounding area. Dr. Kirk found a partial retinal detachment that I hadn't even noticed on my yearly eye exam (I am only 25 so this was quite scary). He is truly amazing! I have seen many eye professional through the years and this is hands down the most professional and comprehensive eye exam I have ever had. I came to Dr. Kirk wanting to try contact lenses. It just did not work out for me, but he tried everything and left the decision to me as to when to stop trying. Each appointment is timely and complete. 1st off. Staff was friendly. Building is a little rough, especially for us handicapped types. In my opinion Dr Kirk is a little arrogant and (again in my opinion) inept at eye care. Went in for bifolds as I wear readers and needed distance glasses. I wear 1.75 for reading, he prescribed 3, I couldn't read with what he prescribed. I rescheduled an appointment, arrived on time to a closed building due to power outage. No text or email to warn me. I wear my readers hanging at my neck, he never asked or checked what power I wore. Clearly the most extensive eye exam I have ever had done. The office is clean and I was taken right away. The staff is very nice and I felt at "home" there. All smiles from start to end. I was seen by Seasen first who took my information down and did a lot of the testing. She was professional and very very pleasant. Could not have ask for a better first impression. Then Dr. Amy Crissman-Head saw me. She was fantastic!!!! I would highly recommend to anyone out there to come to Town and Country Eye Care. The "complete" eye care doctors office. I am a health care professional and went to Town and County for my eye glasses prescription, but also for a second opinion from Dr. Amy Chrissman on an specific eye condition. This is the most complete and through, detailed eye exam I have ever had and I have been to many MD Ophthalmology clinics. Her approach was also very patient friendly , followed by an excellent written report within a day. Her technician Rachel was outstanding to work with...excellent customer service, very competent and willing to be as creative a possible with my budget concerns in selecting frames and working with my insurance. I would recommend this clinic without reservation to anyone for ordinary issues as well as to those looking for second opinions. read more

One thing to remember optometrists are NOT doctors. I took my 4 year old here because we noticed his eyes had started to turn out. At the time we didn't have health insurance. After 2 appointments and numerous tests this "non doctor" informed us that our son needed glasses. All up we spent close to $500 on appointments and glasses at a Town & Country Eyecare. As I mentioned this was all out of pocket as we had no insurance at the time. My sons eyes did not improve, in fact they deteriorated so much that I took him to an ophthalmologist (glory be - a real doctor, kicking myself for not making the distinction between an optometrist and an actual doctor sooner - would have saved myself a packet!). The doctor examined my sons eyes, took the glasses from him and said he should never have been given glasses, ever! Apparently glasses only help if they eye is turning in (my sons turned out wards). He said the glasses had made my sons vision worse. He then lectured my and reminded me that OPTOMETRIST ARE NOT doctors! All my son needed was 12 months of nightly eye exercises (a couple of minutes each night). He was concerned my son might require surgery to tighten the muscle in the eye but a year later the nightly exercises seemed to have worked. Town & Country took my money and prescribed glasses to a 4 year old who did not need them. They made his eyesight worse. They are very negligent, seeming only to care about $$$. No apologies or anything. I would not recommend these charlatans to my worst enemies worst enemy. Complete idiots. read more

Some of the assistants there are very rude now. I have been coming here for over 8 years, but the last two times I have come in I have had horrible customer service experiences. My sister and dad have reported equally poor customer services experiences there lately. I'll be switching eye doctors for my next visit, as is my sister. read more
