I have an appointment at 830 am and 50 minutes later was told that the doctor is on his way....driving. This has been happening for the last 3 years. They do not honor your time at all.

I read some other reviews on here and I had a similar experience in the waiting room, workers openly taking about a poor work environment, that was the first red flag. I also had my eyes dilated unexpectedly which another lasik clinic I went to, did not do this. Not a huge deal but how about a warning prior to the appointment or letting people know how much it's going to affect their day for the next 4 or 5 hours. Anyway, after I hear about the details of my procedure and AGREE ON A PRICE....which by the way was packaged to me as a "friends and family deal" for $3600....I arrive to my appointment on the day of the operation only to be taken through one final machine/test! They need to see whether or not I'm a candidate to pay $600 more for a slightly better outcome! Why doesn't this machine exist at the consultation office along with the 4 or 5 other machines/test I had gone through already? The answer is obvious, it's a chance to get people to pay $600 more if they want the best possible outcome. Price goes up to $4200. I won't and didn't go along with changing the details and cost of my procedure MINUTES before my procedure is scheduled to be done, that's absurd and I would be surprised if more people don't just walk out like I did. On top of that, I don't know what brother I had that experience with, but his demeanor was very poor in handling my reaction to him changing things the day of operation. Also, turns out $3600 is the standard price, friends and family was just part of the sales pitch and then once I'm there the price goes up! I wasted one afternoon for the consultation and one full work day for the procedure. Save yourself money and time, find an honest clinic. Also, this is the second review I've ever wrote in my life and I'm in my 40's, so it takes a lot for me to get to this point.

Dr. Spigelman -- where do I begin?…read more I guess I'll start more than 15 years ago, when my grandmother became his patient after another surgeon blinded one of her eyes for a routine procedure. At 70+ years old, things looked hopeless for her. After coming to Dr. Spigelman and being treated for a number of years, she was shocked one day; my grandmother opened her eyes and saw out of her prior blind eye. Fast forward to 2015, and I came to see the doctor for vision correction. The only surgery I knew of was LASIK, and after a few tests, Dr. S suggested an alternative procedure to correct my eyesight. He knew I was nervous and reassured me things would be okay, specifying the technique he used, pre and post op procedures, and even explained that several members of his family -- and he, too -- have undergone vision correction. His bedside manner and warmth are rare traits amongst many doctors these days, and I never felt like he rushed or like my concerns went unheard. He really made me feel as comfortable as possible and his staff were also kind and helpful during the process. There were many laughs shared with his staff and they were incredibly thorough and explained the post-op effects like blurriness of vision on the second day. The doctor checked in regularly after my procedure and was very attentive, asking me to come in for post-op appointments to make sure everything looked great. The most impressive thing to me was that all of the pre and post operation appointments were included in the price for the surgery -- the cost and breakdown were very transparent, and ultimately, very reasonable for what I got. Long story short, Dr. Spigelman restored my vision too. His hands, knowledge, and approach are truly transformational. Three years later, not a day goes by where I don't wake up to see things clearly or don't enjoy activities without the aid of glasses and contacts. Dr. Spigelman, thank you for the gift of vision!

The doctor is the one who wanted to see me in 6 months, so now I'm back to square one for a doctor. I wasn't even the one who needed to reschedule, it was them and not being able to get in for another 5 months is absolutely ridiculous. It's unfortunate, because the 2 times I did see him, he was a good doctor.

Treated like a number; Waste of my time and money…read more SUMMARY Informed Lake Lazer (3) separate times prior and during my appointment of a long-standing issue with my left eye; Was given an exam and glasses that immediately gave me a migraine behind my left eye; Got a second opinion and found that the prescription was grossly wrong, and somehow had both mis-diagnosed my left eye AND ignored my telling them; Asked for a refund and was shown the NO REFUND POLICY that I had signed. Only bright side is that I was only getting glasses, and not LASIK! (I tried to give the full story, but was limited on characters, so....) Here are some of my takeaways from Lake Lazer of Milford: - The entire experience made me feel like I was cattle being pushed through. The morning of the appointment, I had been asked to come in early, as they were ahead of schedule, but then after the exam, waited for over half an hour for the ophthalmologist, with an assistant apologizing three times, finally confiding, "I don't know what's taking so long." After he did see me, honestly, I could not pick his face out of a six-person lineup, as his back was to me the entirety of his 3-5 minutes in my presence. Unfortunately, it is like many physician practices lately, where it is purely about the number of patients that can be seen in a day, and not by the quality of care provided. This is evidenced by the fact that I indicated to their staff (and him explicitly), THREE separate times that my left eye has a long standing issue, and NOBODY happened to notice that they put my left and right eye as being identical. - They view THEIR time as being more valuable than YOUR time. When I first asked for a refund, the office manager told me, "I wish you would have spoken to me earlier... I *often* have to tell patients that the initial eye exam might be off and that they need to re-test." (WTAF?) I couldn't believe what I was hearing. So, I googled, "How accurate are eye exams?" and google's response was "Eye exams are extremely accurate, if performed by properly trained staff, and with adequate time so as not to be rushed." By the matter-of-fact way that they OFTEN have to have patients re-test, indicates that they do not adequately train their assistants, nor do they care about YOUR time, because if they get it wrong, well, YOU just come back in and expend another hour of your life. They're at work anyways, what does it matter to them? Personally, I am a small business owner, and when people waste MY time, especially with no sign of remorse, it irritates me to no end. - They are more focused on the $$$ than the individual This is pretty obvious to me, because everything that has been said in this review, has been said to the office manager, and in rational, logical, non-emotional ways. I paid for an exam that was faulty, and glasses that were faulty. I got a second opinion, and proper care, from another source. I don't see why I need to be monetarily penalized for their incompetence. If I find that MY company has failed to provide adequate service, then MY company is going to give a refund. It seems like that is common logic. Why this is not the case for Lake Lazer can only be speculated. Learn from my mistakes. Instead, go see an optometrist that talks to you face-to-face and whose sole focus is 20/20 vision.
