I was in the market for a new pair of classic jeans having lost a few pounds recently and having gone down a size...(yay). When I entered there were no other customers in the store. There was a worker just standing by the door. I don't know his name but he has shoulder length wavy brown hair. He was doing nothing but standing there. There was a women behind the register counter folding clothes. No greeting from the long-haired guy idly standing by the door. I asked him about the type of jeans I was looking for. He said "We don't have them," I asked about another style. That style happened to be exactly where he had been standing so he grabbed a pair in the size I asked for. I asked about another style and he vaguely waved me over to the area where they were hanging. Off I went to try on the first pair. I had been in the store before so I knew where the dressing rooms were but he didn't know that and offered no assistance in pointing the dressing rooms out. While I liked the jeans, I did not like the color of that particular denim wash. I returned to the guy still unmoved and still standing idly by the door leaning on the rack of hanging jeans, and asked if it came in a different wash. He said there were several washes but he only had one other darker one in the store. The rest were available on line. He could have mentioned the other wash he had in stock when he handed me the first pair of jeans. But that would have required effort that it does not appear this guy has in him. This guy could not have been less interested in helping me. The second darker denim wash was what I wanted so I took those in my size and headed to the register. The young woman at the register was lovely and greeted me warmly. When she went to ring the jeans up, I noted that the darker wash jeans were more money than the pair I had tried on. I asked her about this. She said: "That's odd" and turned to the still idle long-haired guy for an answer. He bothered himself to walk over to the register to mansplain to me that "it is very common for different washes to come at different price points." Really?? He then said: "The company may have just decided that the darker wash should be more money." None of this sounded very convincing. I said: "Is there anyone who might know for sure who you could call to ask?" Apparently not because he just looked up the item in some book and confirmed that the darker wash jeans were the price on the tag and therefore more money. I did purchase the jeans but it was an unfortunate interaction. I had been in this same store about 3 weeks prior to this visit...again it was soon after the store opened and again with no other customers yet. The only worker that day was this same long-haired idle guy. At that visit too he was idly standing but at the register. Apparently nothing in this store needs folding, or straightening by him. During that visit I was just browsing but at no time did he ask me if I needed help. I walked out soon after, purchasing nothing. This guy seems like he is "phoning it in." Whether he is a salesperson, a manager or a wooden post for the Levi's corporation is unclear to me. What is clear is that he demonstrates zero customer service, zero friendliness and zero helpfulness and 100% bad attitude. Maybe I wasn't his hipster demographic and he couldn't be bothered. He comes across as bored and acted dismissively to me the customer. When I do need another pair of jeans I will take my business elsewhere. Who needs this nonsense when I am spending money and helping provide this guy with a job and salary? These experiences are the antithesis of the previous 5-star experience I wrote about here with different sales staff. Long-haired Idle dude: Find a job you like and are good at. You've made this store a hard pass.

The sizing is definitely a traditional boutique feel and caters to a younger, lively crowd. That being said, I've found amazing jeans, sweaters and dresses there so many times. The price point is reasonable, with some higher priced items as well. I like to buy pieces for special occasions here because they are unique and not something I can just find anywhere. They also have an amazing bridal section that has great options for showers Bachelorette parties and rehearsal dinners! Overall, I'm a big fan. The customer service is great and you'll be guaranteed to find something beautiful for yourself or for a thoughtful gift. Or both! Just be sure to brace yourself for a big purchase because you'll have a hard time choosing just a few items and it's right above the best little market (double trouble!).

They sent everyone in the wedding party their tuxes…read more10 days before the wedding, which gave us plenty of time to try them on and request any adjustments. When needed, the new pieces arrived within 48 hours, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. I definitely recommend going to a local Black Tux showroom to get measured. Most of our guys got measured at Men's Wearhouse, and their sizing didn't quite match The Black Tux's system -- that was the only small hiccup we ran into. My now-husband, our dads, and all of the groomsmen looked so handsome -- the tuxes were sharp and fit great after adjustments. One of our favorite stories from the day: my brother-in-law (and best man) was having such a blast on the dance floor that he accidentally ripped his shirt, and The Black Tux didn't even charge him! They told us they were just glad he had fun -- truly above-and-beyond customer service. I'd highly recommend The Black Tux for any wedding or formal event. The process was easy, the team was responsive, and everyone looked amazing!

I had brought my dress in 4…read moremonths prior to my wedding and it was the most frustrating experience of my wedding planning thus far. It took 5 fittings to have very basic alterations done and with very minimal changes between each fitting. By the 3rd fitting, I had called ahead of time as I was worried that nothing would be updated on the dress and I had to explain to her that there had essentially been no changes at the previous fittings. On the 4th fitting, what I thought was going to be the pick up date, the bottom of the dress hadn't even been hemmed yet and the bustle not even close to started. On top of that, at my final fitting the appointment was delayed 3 times that day, as the dress wasn't finished still and I had to wait there while she finished it. The alterations cost almost half the price of my dress and after spending closed to $1,000 they don't even steam or iron your dress/veil. I absolutely to not recommend coming here.

Well, I've certainly been missing out because during my recent daytime mosey of this mob scene of a strip (complete with old timers taking a bus tour of Scialo Bros... oy vay!) I happend upon the treasure trove that is Diva's Palace. Clearly I've heard of it. Clearly I knew it was going to be good. But, THIS good? I had no idea. The boutique is quirky, beautiful, insane and fun - exactly what you want in a shopping experience, right? The electric blue and gold walls are lined with eccentric pieces like floaty leopard print skirts, adorable denim over-all dresses and even a few airy cotton tops. But the sweet spot? Their jewelry. Oh. My. Goodness. Truth be told, I went a little insane. I've been looking for a cool yet classy statement necklace to go with a somewhat demure dress, and I had no idea the mother load that was within Diva's Palace. Most of their pieces are made in-house and are totally exquisite and truly one-of-a-kind. I zeroed in on a three-stranded black pearl masterpiece that I thought I couldn't live without, until the darling and kind Jimmy pulled out an absolute show-stopper of a crystal necklace strung with salvaged Murano glass beads that were originally part of a chandelier. Sounds over-the-top, perhaps but I assure you, it's elegant and chic and very cool. After falling in love with that item, he brought me a geometric plate bib necklace that happened to go perfectly with the ensemble I wore that day. I was in love with both, and he knew it. What this man did next was so old school and so charming, it will keep me going back to Diva's palace again and again - he went into the back, where the owner, Michael, was making more of these treasures and they discussed the pricing options if I decided to purchase both. With a generous discount applied and heaps of style advice from Michael and Jimmy, I walked out of Diva's with a spring in my step, two gorgeous necklaces and a new favorite West Side shopping destination.
