I was pretty happy with the last place I went for my eye exam, however, my mom started going to Eye Can See and wouldn't stop raving about how much she liked the eye doctor, Dr. Haideh Karimi. So when it was time for my next annual exam, I figured I would give Eye Can See a try, and I'm glad I did. Dr. Karimi is SUPER sweet, kind & caring and very knowledgeable. I've been going to this optical store for years now. The service used to be ok, even though the guy that sells glasses is super pushy and intimidating. During my last visit Dr. Karimi was rude and unpleasant. The guy that sells glasses was particularly rude and pushy; as if he was going to get a special commission for being rude. This is the way I was treated when I came in twice over the past year. My perception is that the care they take with your eye exam does not translate over to the service delivered in the selection and ultimately the proper fitting of the spectacles. Both times that I picked up my glasses (the first time, I got two pairs) I tried on the glasses in front of the people working there and other than a cursory glance my way, no one told me to sit down and adjust the fit of my glasses. The last time I was in there to pick up my sunglasses, all the woman said to me was "they look good" as she went back to her paperwork. Like she had more important things to do! I tend to dress very casually and I am a bit older. I felt that their help was commensurate to my outward appearance. I stopped by Perle Vision later on a few days later and had my glasses adjusted for free. By the way, what triggered me was I got a notice to come in for my yearly eye exam. I decided to not drive over to Plano and have my eyes examined over closer to my place at Perle. I also got two new pairs of glasses spending over $800 there, not counting the cost of the eye exam. When I got the glasses, the first thing that the ladies did was have me put them on, then adjusted the nose pieces and the ear pieces. All in all, I was very satisfied with my experience at Perle, unlike at Eye Can See. Service is what makes or breaks a small business and the service at Eye Can See sucks. So my dollars are never going to be spent there again. read more

Dr Karimi is just the best. I highly recommend her. She is very knowledgeable and profesional. I first had my eye exam with her about 3 years ago, and after trying a couple of other places i totally saw the difference. She has specialized exams for determine multiple health issues like glaucoma, etc . You can book online, and they normally reply within the day. In my case they were able to use my same frames, but they have brand (Gucci, Burberry, Coach, Anne Klein, Carolina Herrera, etc) frames pricing anywhere between $180-$350, which is pretty good compared to other places I have seen. They were able to do my formulation in their office, so it was ready 30 min later! read more

I just went to Dr. Karimi for a long overdue eye exam. I found this place online and wow, I am so grateful! The up front office staff is amazing, I really loved how friendly and funny they all were. Especially Afsoon; that girl is so NICE!! When I called to setup my appt, Afsoon explained everything to me, patiently answered my myriad of questions, laughed with me in conversation, and was able to fit me in the next day. When I arrive the gals up front checked me in and I was seen within 5 minutes of me filling out paperwork. Dr. Karimi is so personable; she just instantly makes you feel comfortable and calm. She went over a few things with me during the exam as well as after to help me understand certain conditions that can occur with our eyes over time. Things I had not thought to look up but am glad I know about now! She made everything super easy to absorb. They give you the option to purchase in-house made glasses (takes only 20 minutes or so) or brand name glasses with them but they don't make you feel pressured to buy. Dr. Karimi told me they decided to start offering glasses made in-house after having issues with glasses that came back special ordered. It's cool knowing there is a quick affordable glasses option nearby. Lastly, the office itself, while very clean, is welcoming and doesn't feel stuffy or medicinal. ..one of those amazing family owned business places that I went for my second annual check up! First thing grabbed my attention was the beautiful classical interior design not to mention how clean and organized it was. Dr Karimi is very pro and friendly she goes through all details and politely explains everything you need to know about your exam results. Hats off to all caring staff the level of communication is very high both with lab and customers they really treat you like a family member. Very unprofessional office. I booked an appointment through Facebook for Brillen eyeware for the Monday 7/0Would you believe my internet was down so I couldn't see the address. I called the Brillen number and I was told I did not have an appointment. He scheduled me fo 7/14. I knew I had appointment, so I drove there. I filled out the paperwork and waited for almost an hour. Had the eye exam and then was told to select frames from this one wall. I was also told a second pair of glasses would be $99. So I picked out another frame. They are really trying to up sell. The whole office is foreigners. I found it difficult to understand. The $99 glasses were now $219. I said forget it. Then I was told the glasses would take 7 to 10 days. Supposedly someone would call me. I kept calling them. So now it's 7/27. I called at 2:00. Person said they would contact lab. I waited 2 hours and then left to run errands. She did call and said glasses were in. They are open 10:00 to 6:00 Monday to Friday. But she said call first because they were doing different hours. I called on Tuesday, 7/28. No answer so I left a message. No one returned my call. Then Today, 7/28 , I called. Same question posed. Did someone call you? I said yes and I would be there shortly. I arrived at 11:55. Office was locked. I tried banging on the glass doors. Finally I went back to my car. At 12:25, the UPS truck arrived. Someone opened the door for him. Once he came out, I went in. Person answered the door and then went to retrieve my glasses. I have never had to wait over 3 weeks for glasses to be ready. I'm frustrated beyond belief. read more

When going to Eye Can See Optical, be very careful about their bait-and-switch practices with specials and coupons. There Is a sleezy salesman who sits up at the front counter that uses techniques to get you to try and spend more money with them. While he keeps trying to tell you what you need to buy he continually encroaches on your personal space inching more and more forward with you making it very uncomfortable to talk with him. I have not had my eyes checked in over 25 years and was interested in getting glasses due to my vision becoming more and more blurry as I get older. My wife and I found a Groupon for $48 that was for an eye exam and $200 of store credit for frames. After I saw the eye doctor (which was actually a very pleasant experience and the best part of my entire time there!) I was approached by the greasy salesman again as he is trying to tell me that since I'm trying to get out of this as cheap as possible he wanted to let me know that no matter what frames I pick out in the store it would be an additional $79.99 to leave with a pair of glasses. when I explained that I was wanting to stay just within the means of what the Groupon had, he got angry and raised his voice with me asking me if I can read and if I took the time to see exactly what the Groupon said. When I explained that what was going on was false advertisement, C mold over what I said and started asking me how I was going to pay for the extra Services they provided (which was none because I told him up front that I did not want anything added on that would have been considered extra from the Groupon I had already purchased.) I received a groupon for Eye Can See however it's only discounted if you pay for both the lenses and eye glass frames. Initially this wouldn't have been a problem if it wasn't for how expensive this place is. The out of pocket expenses are pretty crazy. I paid $149 for the eye exam and lenses. The eye glass frames are from designer brands which easily cost over $200. They charge an additional $60 for anti glare on the lenses where in my experience with other eye clinics is already included for free. The staff member that helped me was kind. And the doctor was informative. Despite the long waiting room time (over an hour) the eye exam was quick. However when I went back to pick up my glasses (which took over a week to receive) the lenses had scratches around the rims and the given prescription gives me painful headaches. The money I spent was outrageous for what I received. I highly recommend searching around for better places with cheaper prices. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I left numerous voicemails, nobody would have the decency to respond to. I called during business hours, nobody would have the decency to answer. So I had to get out of bed ( pneumonia 101 fever), drive over to get the status. I asked if they were having phone issues, and the only male employee ,said maybe! I asked the status and he went to the back. Again, I asked why none of my calls were returned, and he would only whisper " your glasses were sent ( whisper whisper, mumbling). WORST. EXPERIENCE. EVER. I found a $49 Groupon that included an eye exam and $200 credit towards glasses. I called to inquire (to make sure that we will receive a written RX at the end of the appt) and was told certainly. I was also told I did not need to purchase the Groupon, that they will honor the $49. We had no intentions of using the so called $200 credit since we get our glasses with Warby Parker and I knew the costs would be inflated to compensate for the money they lose by doing the Groupon promotion. I also knew that upselling would be something we would be subjected to once we were there. First of all, we respected them enough to show up on time for the appointment, but the same was obviously not returned. We waited 33 mins before my bf was taken back. At the end of the appt, the optometrist walked my bf out and stated he can't receive his prescription until he gets his eyes dilated for $20 more and that if he has to go to work, he's more than welcome to come back tomorrow to get the dilation and receive the prescription. I have been wearing glasses for 30 years and have been to numerous optometrists and they have never, ever held my prescription for not receiving eye dilation. I started to get upset and the front office girl says, "I mean I can write it on just a blank piece of paper for you, just the numbers but that's it. You won't be able to do anything with it" Seriously? Is she on crack? I work in healthcare and see patients day to day. You don't treat patients that way. You give your opinions and educate the best you can, but never corner a patient into doing something they do not decide for themselves. I bought the Groupon deal & had a really great experience, the front office could stand to offer some smiles & friendliness but Dr. Karimi was excellent & super friendly. I got a new, very stylish set of glasses & I would probably go back again. The $20 for the retina exam is optional so you have the option of having the non-digital retina exam at no additional cost. My glasses were only $34 more than the $200 credit & I did pay for the contact lense fitting & got the glare & scratch resistance package on my glasses so I did pay a bit more but it was not unreasonable & it was overall a good value. They were a bit hard to get a hold of initially but I was finally able to get through & get an appointment. read more

NO INTEGRITY in this company and Owner refuses to pay what's owed to employees. So don't know where to start with this review. My daughter got a job here and she was skeptical because she was told they had a high turn over rate due to the owner. She took the job since she was hired to do the micro laser side of the clinic not optical. However the place was unprofessional, she had appointments at 9am and the owner wouldn't show up until 10am. This happened several times, mind you she's driving from Cedar hill to Plano which is on two opposite sides of Texas. On top of that the owner told her to move up she had to make coffee (she's not even a coffee drinker nor hired for the eye clinic side). After numerous weekends waiting for over an hour past her appointment times she quit. She quit July 14 and as of today they refuse to send her the last paycheck she is owed, even after numerous calls to the owner only to be told he will wait for an attorney to serve him. Employees warned my daughter he will not pay the last check in hopes the person will forget or give up asking for it. At this time we are seeking legal help and have contacted the labor board. read more

The doctor is super friendly and knowledgeable (hence the 2 stars), but her staff is rude and very unprofessional. I was told my eyeglasses would be ready the day following my exam and that I would be contacted. Never received a call and when I finally called them I was immediately placed on a long hold. Then placed in hold another 2 times to search for my frames. Ugh! The place is tiny and frame selection for glasses even more tiny. They convinced my boyfriend to upgrade his lenses to the non-glare brand which was an extra charge, but they obviously aren't smudge resistant because they stay dirty all the time even if you don't touch them. I've bought two Groupons with Eye Can See. The first one was a year ago, and it would have deemed 4.5 stars based on how sweet Dr. Karimi is and how awesome my frames were (same day cut and pick up!) A year later, another Groupon, and now it has been over 2 weeks since my exam/visit. Not only were frames promised to me in less than a week.. Their prices have inflated and lack of communication with me on updates. I figured a full week was a generous buffer for waiting, but it looks like these frames won't get to me until next month. I bought a Groupon to use before I moved out of state. The doc was very sweet and informative and took her time with teaching proper eye healthcare. Front staff is a waste of a great doc. Rude, impatient, had to listen to them complain about other patients while sitting in the waiting room, not helpful. Tried to contact to get a copy of my script faxed to me. Three people told me they would but it still hasn't happened. Now I am spending more money going to a reputable eye doc in my new town. Waste of money and time. Minimum cost of any glasses was $200 in store and they refused to give me a copy of my glasses prescription. Charged me more money then I paid for the Groupon even. read more

I am a new patient with Dr. Karimi and I am very pleased with the level of service I received from both her and her staff. They were all incredibly friendly and very helpful. My vision exam with Dr. Karimi proved to be very educational as well, as she took the time to explain each test and the reason behind having to do each one; checking for certain markers, now that I'm in my early 50's. She even showed me the images she took of my eyeball (which was healthy, thankfully) and compared it to images of some with Glaucoma, Diabetic and Macular Degenerations, so I could see the difference. It was quite eye-opening -- pun intended. I'm also very pleased with my new progressive lens glasses. They were a little pricey, but they are very light and the stylish; complimenting my face rather than making me look like Clark Kent's sister. read more

Dr. Karimi was incredibly nice and sweet. Her front staff seemed inefficient and problematic. They have no customer service and don't seem to have much knowledge. They didn't ask for my insurance information at all. I called to give it to them and they used my medical insurance. Luckily, I'm double covered. Their $85 contact lens fitting fee is ridiculous. Dr. Karimi is the first doctor I've met who finalizes contact lens prescriptions immediately. Normally, patients are given some time to decide which lens are comfortable. Purchased a Groupon in hopes of getting glasses for night driving... Buuuut after a few tests, it turns out my eyes are almost perfect. It wouldn't have been worth getting glasses :-/ My night driving sucks but I was told to keep my eyes hydrated with drops and take supplements that help the eyes. If you are looking for a first rate doctor of optometry then "Eye Can See" clinic is a very caring and professional clinic. Took my daughter there today for an exam for contact lenses and glasses. Dr. Karimi took an extraordinary amount of time explaining to my daughter the diseases of the eye that she (Karimi) was looking for. Additionally, plenty of time was allotted for the exam that determines the RX for the glasses and contacts. This visit was based on a Groupon coupon that I purchased and I was a bit hesitant, but there was never a second that everything wasn't 100% professional and at no time was there any attempt to "sell up" or tell us "sorry, that's not covered with your Groupon promotion". Good selection of frames, no pressure to get the expensive extras on the lenses. Office staff very friendly, wait time was about nil. When I ordered my glasses, they told me it would take 2 weeks or less. I called at about a week and a half later and they said it wasn't ready yet. This week would be week three. I seriously think if you use a Groupon, you get treated differently! The doctor is fantastic but the staff is rude, unorganized and out of touch, making my experience one I never want to repeat. No one asked if I would be using a Groupon for my services, when I made my appointment for an eye exam and a pair of glasses. When I gave them the Groupon, during my checkout, it was as if I had given them the plague. "Oh, I didn't know you were using a Groupon!" he said and was very irritated about it. "I wish I would have known you were using a Groupon," he continued to complain. When I asked if there was a problem, I was told no, but it really appeared to be a giant yes! My appointment was on Saturday, January 23rd at which time I ordered glasses. I was told they would be in on the following Saturday, January 30th. On Tuesday Feb 2nd, I called and was told I would get a call back that day to tell me the status of my purchase, which was over $600. I received no response back. So I called again on Wednesday, Feb 3rd at which time I was told that progressive lenses take 7-10 business days and they would not be in until Monday, Feb 8th, (17 days after I ordered them). I asked what time they would be in and was told "I'm not sure but some where around 2:00 pm," so I said I'll be there at 3:00 to pick them up. Then I was informed that only the frame was coming in on Monday, and they still had to cut the glass to fit the frame. Really?!?! I'm going out of town on Feb 9th and told them I needed my glasses for sure on Monday. To which he stated, "I will call you when they are done." He refused to confirm they would be ready to pick up on Monday. I will never use "Eye Can See" again, they are rude, and out of touch, which is really a shame because the Doctor is really good at what she does. read more

This is the worst office I have honestly ever been to. I should've listened to all of the bad reviews, but I tried to give them benefit of the doubt. When I got to my appointment, they were having an office meeting and pretty much ignored me, 15 min after my appointment time(I got there 10 min early), their meeting was over and I started my appointment. It felt VERY hustled and hurried-literally was about 20 min or less. Which don't get me wrong, I like fast, but because of this I felt I wasn't given the time to get the correct prescription. For the first time in my life, the doctor said my prescription hasn't changed AT ALL. But literally, 2 seconds later she said she's adjusting it to have a minor astigmatism and lower the power(I've never been prescribed ANYTHING for astigmatism and I've had glasses since I was 10 years old). BUT KEPT MY CONTACT PRESCRIPTION THE EXACT SAME-NOTHING FOR ASTIGMATISM!! I was very confused, and kept trying to get her to explain it to me, to no avail. Then after, they were kind of pushy to buy glasses from them, and most were too expensive, and the "cheaper" ones did not look nice at all so I passed. I ordered them online(have been for over 5 years and never had an issue). But I've been wearing them a couple weeks and experience horrible headaches and eye strain while wearing any of my new glasses(I bought multiple pair). I knew I was probably given the wrong prescription at the time, but she didn't seem to care at the appointment. Now I have wasted money on glasses that I can't wear because I can't stand the pain, and have an incorrect prescription. So I either have to deal with it, or go get a new prescription and order new glasses again. PLEASE don't go here to try and save money, it's worth it to go somewhere that takes their time and truly cares about their patients. I'm so upset about this experience, and I really wanted to find a great doctor/office in the area because we just moved here. But I will never make this mistake again! read more

Today, however was disappointing for my annual eye appointment, the customer service from the front desk was by far the WORST I've ever experienced, BROOKE, was rude to me from the time I walked in from the time I walked out. She ignored me as soon as I walked in and wasn't attentive until I just stood there waiting to check in. She had an attitude and was rude. The optometrist, Dr. Karimi, is a sweetheart, she's been checking my eyes since I was in grade school!
