Well I kind of put it off till now just due to scheduling conflicts on my end. My company sent me overseas a couple of times and I just didn't get around to handling this. I finally went to see the doc today. Pulling up to the practice, it looked like an abandoned lot to be honest. Well that might be a stretch but just to give sort of a contrast from outside view to inside. I was telling the front office person that I had to circle around the place a couple times to make sure I got the location right. Well needless to say, I was surprised when I walked in. Completely different atmosphere. Ambiance was reminiscent of another medical practice I've visited in the past. I was right on time for my first-time appointment. I was kind of surprised as I didn't have to fill out any forms or anything. Of course I wasn't coming in for an eye examination or anything like that but to be honest.. this was interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if they contacted me later to fill out forms but regardless, just wanted to bring that up. I didn't wait long at all. I was shown straight to a room. Waited for a bit so I entertained myself by reading the last line of the eye chart inside the room multiple times. Dr. Wright came in and was very engaging and easy to talk to. He went into depth the causes of why my eyes were inflamed and was very patient with explaining anything that I needed explaining. I didn't feel rushed at all. He gave me the most ideal and practical treatment which I would've asked for had he not suggested it so I'm very glad that he covered the bases before I had to ask. This lets me know hey.. if I ever come in for a check-up of a different sort.. I can trust and be rest assured that the diagnosis and treatment he offers would be the most ideal for me. Staff was nice and courteous too.

He was helpful in answering all of my questions and supplying me with the necessary eye drops to keep the disease in check. Two years ago, I moved to Rowlett and the drive became a bit much and I requested that he suggest another doctor in the Rowlett/Rockwall area that I could visit to continue my glaucoma treatments. At the same time, I discovered that my insurance company quit approving the medication that I needed to help me continue. Dr Deloach offered to petition and fight the insurance company for the medication that I need, so I will continue to make the drive for such amazing support. The entire staff at Plano Eye is friendly and courteous, the office is kept in clean and top notch condition and the glasses/frames area where you pick out your frames is abundant and easy to navigate. I will continue my relationship with the Plano Eye staff for as long as I need an eye doctor.

Exceptional Vision Care & Compassionate Expertise - Why I Trust Dr. Gulrez Khoja in Plano, TX…read moreI've been a loyal patient here for nearly five years, and every single visit reminds me why I'll never trust anyone else with my vision health. From the moment you step into the office, you're greeted like family by a team that's warm, professional, and genuinely invested in your well-being. The environment is modern and welcoming, but it's the human connection that makes this place extraordinary. Unlike many healthcare providers today, Dr. Khoja takes the time to truly listen. She doesn't just glance over charts--she dives deep into understanding your unique concerns. Because of my family history of eye disease, she's carefully monitored my vision for the last 2.5 years, keeping detailed progress reports and scheduling regular exams every six months. That kind of proactive, personalized care is something you rarely find anymore! Recently, I faced an entirely new health challenge: I'm preparing to start chemotherapy. While my medical team has been focused on the obvious concerns, it was Dr. Khoja who brought up a critical point that no one else had--how chemo can affect my vision. Thanks to her foresight, we established a baseline eye health assessment before my treatments even begin. This way, we'll know exactly how my vision is impacted and have options ready if corrective action is needed later. Who else thinks of that level of care? It's rare to find a doctor who combines world-class expertise with such a deep level of compassion. Dr. Khoja is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist, an expert in managing complex conditions like keratoconus, surgical complications, and specialized contact lens fittings. She also cares for children's vision needs and provides advanced treatments like Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT). Beyond her impressive credentials, she makes every patient feel seen, heard, and cared for. That's the kind of doctor everyone deserves but so few actually find. If you're in Plano, TX or nearby, do yourself a favor--make an appointment with Dr. Khoja. Whether you need routine vision care, help managing complex conditions, or simply want a provider who will advocate for your overall health, you won't find a more compassionate and capable expert. (Photo with Dr. Khoja attached because some moments in life deserve to be remembered!) Gratefully, Mark D.

The reason they presented for this valuable test is, it can show early signs of problems and treatment can be implemented to make things better. It was optional but, I opted in and am glad I did.
