Lone Star Vision in Celina, TX My family of four has been getting our annual vision and eyeglasses and sunglasses since 2017. Today I went for eyeglasses adjustment because my nose pads weren't symmetrical and one nose pad is touch my eyelid. Ricky one staff member came out to help me with it but only use an intimidating behavior to his satisfaction and convinced me that it seems perfect for him. I asked if he can use a tool instead of just his fingers for adjustment but Ricky insisted that his finger is a tool and the right tool. I felt my ears were so hot from high blood pressure and my stomach was cramping. It wasn't a good morning experience for an eyeglass adjustment. read more

The office space was clean and all of the staff were very friendly. I came to Dr. Diaz because I wear ortho-K lenses and she was very knowledgeable about it and helped me get new contacts. Every experience I encountered with a staff member was pleasant and I felt valued as a patient. The prescription I received from Dr Brantley doesn't work for me. Therefore I decided to call for assistance but instead, Sarah, who I believe is not even a doctor trying to convince me to continue using this prescription after I informed her I have been taking it for three days without any improvement. We had to change practices when our current eye doctor stopped accepting our insurance plan. Going to the eye doctor makes me very nervous, so this wasn't a happy experience. Happy with the professional optical service here! I was initially having problems with my new progressive lens. It didn't work for me as I saw a lot of distortions/ blurriness, especially with my right eyes, even after adjustment. So, 'Ellie' stepped up and helped me by calling the lab if I can change to different types of lens without any additional charges. I'm appreciated with her patience and professional service. When it comes to customer service, this place really lacks it. I had made an appointment months ago to get my vision checked. Due to the emergency I had I needed to get seen ASAP, so I went else where. So now I bring the prescription to lone star, called over the phone and verified my info and all the other good stuff. Now I am at the facility trying to place and order, and I am being told I have to pay full price even though I have insurance. I was told I needed to call and get my info in order to get correct pricing. Even though these folks have the number for my insurance provider, and could do it them selves. As I am calling all she is doing is looking over paper work for other folks. And the front end nurse along with another customer are looking at me as if I'm crazy.Never at any point did she ever indicate, hey I can call for you or let me take care of this situation. Complete waste of time..... ** On 02/14 i called back and gave them the information that was needed in order to place an order. Was told she could've called but that I took it upon my self to call. I advised her that I follow instructions given, and wouldn't have called if she didn't tell me so. The representative still kept going on and on over the situation. At least and apology for the misunderstanding would've been nice but it didn't. I did get my order placed and will arrive in a few days. After this experience I'm done, I drive out of my way to see them because the optometrist is really on point. However your front desk doesn't make the situation any better, when every time I go my info is not properly verified. ** read more

Do not go to this office, they have extremely poor customer service. It's not the warm, welcoming doctor you would want to see. I have been going to Lonestar since I first moved to Dallas, so for three years now. I drive all the way from Uptown to Plano as this was the Doctor my friend recommended who lives in Plano. Since this doctor is so far away from where I live, I order my contacts from 1800 contacts as they deliver directly to your door. Lonestar delivers contacts to their office where you have to go pick them up or pay an extra $10 for them to be delivered to your home. I ran out of contacts and forgot to change my address so 1800 accidentally delivered to my old address. I was leaving town the next day and needed a few pairs of contacts to tie me over until my contacts were delivered. I get really bad headaches if I wear my glasses all day. I drove to lonestar hoping they could give me some samples, but the receptionist was so rude and charged me a $20 "service fee" (aka she went to the back to grab the samples to give me). She said she would give them to me for free if I purchased through them but since I purchase through 1800 she's charging me. Seriously? I have been seeing this doctor for 3 years, isn't that enough? I paid $20 for 10 contacts, 5 for each eye. And received extremely poor customer service. I switched doctors and will never be going back. read more

I'd like to first go on the record and say that this is not a review, and this has no reflection of my experiences with Lone Star Vision, I'm merely a witness and I'm only posting my comments because of the eerie coincidence. So, let me begin by saying I have been going to lone star vision for a few years now and I have had an overall great experience. This is in regards to a previous post today from a stunningly beautiful young gal, whom I recognize in her photo on here because I was standing in line behind her. (This is where the "Eerie Coincidence" comes from.) I was in line today behind a stunning young gal who was having some issues with her contact lenses not being delivered, so she was hoping that she could grab a quick "Fix" from the countless amounts of samples these eye places receive regularly from various vendors. She was explaining how she was traveling tomorrow for work and she would have to resort to wearing her eye glasses if she wasn't able to get contacts before her 7am flight. The young gal was unmistakably the most amicable gal I'd come across all day, especially in view of the circumstances of her visit to LSV. Her charismatic delivery, explaining to the employee at LSV that wearing her bifocals not only made her apprehensive in certain social instances, but they caused her to have bad Migraines. That is where I felt the need to offer up some of my contact lenses, because I can relate to her discomfort with the migraines; as I too frequently get migraines from glasses and they are powerful enough to cause me to bed ridden in the dark for days. The employee at LSV said she would have to charge a service fee of $25, which came as a surprise. In my head, and I'm sure this young gal thought the same thing; "how does walking in the back room and grabbing a free sample equate to a $25 service charge?" It doesn't add up. Unless these two had previous rapport in the past that I'm not aware of, it felt as if the employee was merely rejected this gals request for contacts out of pure dislike. Again, this was not a review and it has no reflection of my experience with LSV. I will continue to go there, I've had nothing but good experiences there, I did however just want to share this post as I felt it was too coincidental that I made a point to look up the reviews to see if anyone else had posted something about this employee and how she inflicted a $25 service charge out of dislike. And it's eerie to me because that same stunning gal who I was behind in line with today, actually made a point to share her outlandish experience. I mostly read the reviews on Yelp and rarely write them, but was compelled to share my disappointing experience today with Lone Star Vision. From some of other reviews I see that I am not the only one with customer service issues created by the front desk staff. I am new to the area and was recommended to Dr. Brantley by my daughter's pediatric ophthalmologist. I called yesterday to get an appointment to renew my contact lens prescription, and luckily, there was a cancellation today with one of the doctors that would allow me a quick appointment. I took it, and arrived today on time with my paperwork ready. I was immediately told by the receptionist that my appointment was tomorrow, not today, and it was clear from her attitude and rude tone that she thought I was some sort of dummy who couldn't even figure out what day to come in. I was completely taken aback her snotty condescending behavior as well as her total unwillingness to even consider that the mistake could have been on their end. I actually felt like she was trying to embarrass me over this. I had written down the day and date of the appointment and reconfirmed it on the phone, as well as asked my spouse who was standing next to me at the time if he could watch our two little ones while I went to the appointment. I know the misunderstanding was not on my end. I rarely get to go to appointments alone as I stay home with my small children so I was very careful when I scheduled everything and my husband cancelled a meeting so I could attend this. I ended up leaving without being seen as the receptionist had no interest in trying to work with me, even though I explained I had arranged childcare for this. On my way out, she actually called after me, "So are you coming in tomorrow then?" Really?! Being inconvenienced over this mistake was bad enough, but the rudeness and efforts to embarrass me were completely unforgivable. The office looked nice and I am sure the doctors are very good, but I will take my business elsewhere. I have also learned a lesson to always insist on a written appointment confirmation so it is not my word against theirs if this ever happens to me in the future. read more

I brought my two year old in because of my history of nearsightedness and high astigmatism I knew I'd be proactive and get her eyes checked routinely. We saw Dr Diaz and she did good. This entire organization known as Lone Star Vision is absolutely top-notch. All(!) of the front-desk receptionists and all(!) of the medical technicians are excellent -- I've encountered 5 or 6 different people and each one of them has been friendly, attentive, professional, and welcoming. I've worked with two different optometrists on staff (Roxanne and Shay). Both have helped me to make sure that my eyeglasses fit just perfectly and both were absolutely accommodating and respectful (in spite of my careless reasons for needing new glasses and, subsequently, to have my glasses adjusted). My eye doctor was Dr. Diaz -- she is professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I have been visiting eye doctors and optometrists regularly since I was about 4 years old; I'm 51 years old now. I've probably encountered at least 20 different eye doctors and optometrists in my life, and the krew at Lone Star Vision is by far the best. (Sadly, I am leaving the Dallas area soon and will not get to continue the excellent, professional, friendly care and service from Lone Star Vision ... at least over the near future.) read more

I like Dr. Brantley. He has good bedside demeanor. I think he's an SME (subject matter expert). He prescribed my first pair of glasses at 25/26 and I didn't really want them but needed a little help at the computer screen. It's been great. I think he nailed it. Give him a whirl. I have had the same frames now for about 8 years. Titanium frames without hinges just last a very long time. I just went to a new prescription on the lenses but for some reason the technicians at the business I have done business with for years could not get the lenses mounted correctly on the frames after two attempts. On a Friday night I was frustrated and was trying to adjust the frames myself to get them to fit. I got too heavy handed and broke a temple. Sigh. Even better the office I did business with was not open on Saturdays. Double sigh. Hitting Google I looked for dealers in the area that handled my brand of frames and was open Saturday mornings. Obviously I found Lone Star. I was waiting for them to open the door Saturday morning. The front staff was very courteous, didn't give me any issues about not having an appointment, didn't ask to see insurance - no paperwork at all. I didn't even get a chance to sit down before Nickie was out to help me. I have worn glasses and/or contacts for 52 years with yearly checkups so I have some experience with different offices and personnel. Nickie was as friendly, knowledgeable and helpful as any technician I have ever had. She took her time and installed my lenses perfectly on a new set of frames. My old office never did as good a job. I appreciate LSV being able to handle my minor emergency and actually improve the fit of my lenses. They have earned a new customer. Thank you Nickie. read more

This practice is excellent. They are so professional, efficient and patient. Both the medical assistant guy and Dr Brently took their time with me and really listened to my concerns. Everyone is so nice, from the reception lady to the checkout lady who helps you find a frame you like and orders your glasses. And my vision insurance (vsp) paid for a huge portion, my frame was down from $160 to $12. My son was there too, saw Dr Diaz, and he was very impressed. read more

I have seen Dr. Carleo and I am very pleased. She worked through correcting my vision after surgery and stuck with me until I was able to see the best. She made multiple changes with contacts until I admitted that I wasn't going to be happy with bifocal lenses as they were a year ago. I am hoping that eventually they will perfect them. In the meantime, I have chosen 3 pairs of glasses at Lone Star and I get compliments all the time. The technicians there are honest about how they look and they have a keen sense of style. read more

This was my first eye exam, and I'm in my 40s. I never had vision problems until recently, so I wanted to get it checked out. Here are my impressions as a first-timer: The wait was under 10 minutes after I filled out my paperwork. I also made the appointment online and had no trouble there. They also called to confirm what my vision benefits covered after I gave them that info. The front desk was friendly and helpful when I walked in, so I guess customer service is going to always vary depending on who you get or how busy they are, but that was just my experience. The tech person who took me back for the initial testing/pictures was personable. The only reason I knock off a star is because I didn't get any warning about the drops that dilate your eyes. I didn't know they burned until they started burning so badly that I got out of the chair. So maybe a heads-up would have been nice. If there is something you can take to numb them beforehand, I wasn't offered. So that was the least pleasant part of the visit. I also didn't know what each test was doing. I suppose they don't explain it to each person since most people have been through that song and dance and know what all the tests are for, but I was pretty clueless. I saw Dr. Lundeen, and he is a very friendly doctor who took time explaining things. When I asked about a certain eye condition out of curiosity, he pulled up photos as examples of what the optic nerve area would look like in a photo. So anything I was unsure about was answered, and I didn't leave feeling like I didn't understand something or get a full answer. He was very thorough, which is something I appreciate with doctors since I've had issues with a lot of them not really listening. The exam itself was easy. Though I don't know what's usually involved with vision testing, it seemed like they checked out a lot more than I thought. I was nervous about the puff test where they shoot air into your eye since people were telling me about it, but they didn't use that. They had a different instrument instead that didn't do anything uncomfortable that I noticed outside of getting close to my eye and giving me that knee-jerk reaction to wince. Once the exam was over, I didn't feel like I was being shoved out the door. Maybe I'm used to my medical doctors spending all of one minute with me before even asking about my history. They also didn't push buying glasses in their shop or even at all. He explained my vision only required them if I felt like I needed them, especially for reading. So I like that I have time to consider what my needs are first. I'm really happy with the overall experience and have no anxiety about going to see them again. I haven't experienced any eye emergency, so I can't speak to how they might quickly handle that, and I hope I never have to find out. Same with purchasing glasses in their shop. I don't know what they charge in comparison to other places and what issues might lie there, but I just wanted to give my review of my overall first experience. read more

Honestly thinking of switching to a different optometrist. My insurance wouldn't allow a visit for another 10 days and I let them know I was out of contacts. They proceeded to only give me 5 days worth of contacts and have refused to give me more in the past to hold me over until my appointments like it was some kind of medication I was going to OD on. Called me when I was in class and could not pick up to let me know I couldn't come it for 10 days but didn't follow up when I did not answer only for me to drive out there and be declined a visit. Haven't been pleased with this office for many visits and it looks like it might be time to switch. read more

I've been going to Lone Star Vision for several years, have had an opportunity to see several different doctors there and they've all been great to work with. They always take the time to address any questions and complete a thorough exam - have never had any issues with the prescriptions. Over the wknd I was experiencing some redness with my eye that wasn't going away. I was pretty confident that it wasn't pink eye but I was going to babysit after work on Monday so "pretty confident" wasn't going to cut it. After work, I rushed in to Lone Star Vision and explained my concern and told them I had 30 minutes to get in and out. They accepted the challenge. The team quickly communicated with each other my symptoms and limited time frame that I had given them. I SO VERY MUCH APPRECIATE THAT!! I was referred to lone star and I really liked dr. Diaz, I actually still like her. She is great she will spend the time with you to make sure your fitted correctly and that she gets everything right. I never feel rushed by her. However, the front office staff is a hot mess. My original appointment was scheduled at 2:30, I showed up 15 min early. This was also on my break as I can only go during that time. Well the person in front of me was late(I know this because when I checked in they said I couldn't be seen earlier because there was someone at 2:15) but still they were seen before me. I looked at my clock and it was 2:50. I went to the desk and asked her if I could reschedule because I needed to go back to work and couldn't wait any longer. She said sure no problem and put me in for next week. Seemed like no big deal. Well my next appointment rolls around and I haven't received the confirm your apt. call. So I called up there and they said they had no record of me having an apt. I explained to her what happened and she got me booked, but it was in between other apts. so again I show up to the office early and I'm still taken back late. Then I'm waiting in the exam room for probably about thirty min while the poor dr was bouncing back and forth between the other apts. they had triple booked her. Then I was checking out and the lady barely said any words to me and seemed very rude, this whole process felt like it took another 10 min. They just need to get their front office more organized and make sure to not book more than one person at a time. How can a dr have three appointments at once and make sure she's giving good quality of care? Then on top of all this they had charged on my insurance that I purchased contacts when in fact I hadn't. I hadn't even tried the sample ones yet. Overall it just left a bad taste and I probably won't be back. Which is unfortunate because I really liked dr. Diaz :( read more
