After several years of trying to make this place work for me I finally left in 2025. I really liked the Dr but , it wasn't enough for me to keep going and giving money for sub par customer service. Their staff is awful. I had so many problems over the years, additional monies I had to pay because they gave me the wrong information , added filters to my lenses I never needed and just rude or unexperienced with customers. Soon after my first pair of glass they messed up the lenses and I couldn't drive at night. I was seeing stars. I have astigmatism. I had to bring the glasses back a few times and they took off filters and didn't refund me for any of it. In July the glasses I left in the car , the lenses melted and I would have to pay $400+ to have them redone. My new vision care has 100% better customer service and the Dr was better and gave me a variety of prescriptions to suit my needs . THERE IS BETTER OUT THERE read more

Lighthouse Eye Care has been the best practice for our family for years. Our doctor, Dr. Nguyen is knowledgeable, compassionate and actively involved in our care. He monitors my diabetic eyes, cataracts, injuries and eye illnesses, as well as my vision. They never make me wait to be seen if I am in pain. The office is pristine and has only positive energy. Every member of the staff is helpful and genuinely seem so be glad to be there. They don't hard sell glasses, but when I do need them, the staff does a great job helping me select. Plenty of frames to choose from and reasonably priced. I won't hesitate to send my family and friends here. I would give more stars if I could! read more

Absolutely wonderful. The doctor took her time and was very patient with my questions.

Bad experience. Went in to get additional contacts because my regular doctor could not see me for a month. A non-qualified person gave me my initial preliminary exam. The person didn't know how to use some of the equipment and had to ask for help. Then I sat in the exam room for over 20 minutes waiting for the doctor who came and ran me, very rushed, through an exam and basically got the prescription wrong for my right eye. Then told me as I was leaving she would see me in a year?? No trial period to verify if the new prescription works, just "see you in a year". When I paid my overpriced bill, the person tried to get me to buy a years worth of contacts for $1100. When I got home I had to remove the right eye contact and go back to my original prescription, because I could not read my computer monitor. Thankfully I had extra contacts. So yeah, I will never go back. My recommendation is to go to Plano Eye Care Center on 15th St. and ask for Dr Gulpa. She is the best. read more

Worst experience ever. Went last year without issue. Returned this year but saw a new doctor. He tried to prescribe me a different lense after having one kind for 20 years without issue. Told me I may need surgery and if I ignored the issue I could lose my vision. Increased my script without even letting me see what it would look like. It was insane. I left in a panic and my insurance company recommended getting a second opinion. Got a second opinion at another doctor same day. No need to change lenses (in fact this doctor said I will most likely be in these lenses forever). Did the standard tests to get my script. It was nothing like the prescription given at lighthouse. This doctor put the lighthouse numbers into the machine to let me look through at that prescription.. I couldn't see a thing. Oh and the surgery- new doctor said absolutely not. She said my eyes looked perfectly healthy. Beware- not sure what they were trying to pull but it was all doom and.gloom with more needed appointments. read more

Absolutely love the staff and doctor. I went in to check on some swelling on my left eye and asked to do an exam. They managed to make that happen. I'll come back for glasses! Have to put emphasis on the great staff from making the appointment to the end of the appointment was completely flawless. Thanks for the great experience, Lighthouse Eye Care! My family does not have a good experience with Dr. Bui and the clinic. Our overall feeling is that they are trying to request every possible charge without solving the problem. My daughter had an Ortho-K program with the clinic by paying. The lens did not work well from the first day we got them. Her eyesight was only corrected to 20/40. The doctor asked us to stay with them without doing anything. He said it was because the lens were dirty and charged us with protein cleaning in June. (We worked with another clinic before and a typical practice is to replace the poor-performing lens) One month later, my daughter still could not see things clearly. My wife brought her in today for a regular check, which should be covered by the annual package ($1600 for the first year and quite a few hundreds for following years). Again, Bui did not do anything for the problem. However, he said it is an diagnosis and still wanted to charge more without giving any description other than a normal eye drop. The doctor even insisted that my daughter can see things clearly but it was not true. They also asked us to make another appointment for this afternoon again, saying it was better to check in the afternoon. Ironically, they said morning was better one month ago when we visited in the afternoon. Similar things happened to me. I came in for a regular annual check but the doctor insisted on me to schedule another appointment for any diagnosis. I never went back. Not sure how true are all these positive feedback. We are looking at elsewhere. Added: It has nothing to do with the insurance policy, but with the attitude to solve patients problems. We came to you, we trusted you, and you failed to do anything to help my family members except for asking for extra payment. I know COVID-19 gives all business owners a hard time. But please at least respect your career and do your own job. We are not happy, we share our experience and we walk away. read more

Terrible experience. They can mess up even a simple eye exam. I went there for a routine eye exam. They gave me what they read in the computer, and increased my astigmatism (cylinder) from 1.5 to 2.25. For a 40 year old, this is a drastic change. I had 2 months of headaches, and pain. I did not know what was going on, and went back there 3 times. Finally, in the 3rd visit, after 2 months, they realized that they made a mistake in the prescription. This mistake cost me 2 months of headaches. Good location, nice clinic, but incompetent doctors. Even Walmart Eye Exam is better than this place. read more

We needed to find an optometrist after my son failed his vision screening at our pediatrician's office. My sister referred us after she had a great visit at Lighthouse with her daughter. The staff was incredible with my six-year-old. They were kind, gentle, and encouraging. He was really nervous, and they totally put him at ease. Dr. Bui was wonderful with him. It turns out that my son needed glasses, and I needed to do a bit of research before we purchased any. They helped us try on glasses, but they were not pushy at all. We did not end up buying glasses at Lighthouse, but we will certainly be back for our son's follow up in a year. I really appreciated them! read more

Dr. Bui and his staff at Lighthouse Eye Care are fantastic! The office is beautiful and the equipment is state of the art. It's been ten years since I have had an eye exam. After this visit, I should go once a year! lol. I also didn't have to wear those funky disposable sunglasses after my visit. Ten years ago, my previous optometrist gave me some expensive hybrid contacts bc of my really really bad astigmatism, but I hated wearing them bc they were so uncomfortable and went back to glasses. Dr. Bui gave me some soft contact lenses today and they are freaking comfortable!! They won't try to upsell you on some fancy expensive contacts. They'll give you what's best for you. Walked in just because they're in the same building as my PCP. The staff took great care of me. I didn't have my insurance card but they found a way to look me up and took me as a walk in for an eye exam an hour before closing. They were all professional and very fun to work with. read more

I went the day before Thanksgiving I had the worse experience I went only for the pressure of my eyes and the Tech and Dr.Thoai Peter Bui, OD insisted on doing everything when I had just seen my Eye Dr couple months ago Dr.Thoai Peter Bui statred doing things on my eye and never told me what he was doing and he Scratched my eye with this white plastic thing that he was tring to get my tears I have been doing to my eye Dr Tenery forever and never seen anything like that or done anything like that. I do not recommend this place 1st time and last time I was crying when I left the facility and now my eye is blurr and I can't see well I'm so scared. I hate everything about this facility they only care about making money and nothing about patient care. Shame :( read more
