This place has the worst security. My RV trailer was stolen right from under their noses. Their camera coverage has a lot to be desired. It did not cover my spot. They could not tell me the last time it was onsite. They don't do regular rounds of checks. When I went to look at the spot after it was stolen there were multiple units that had their sliding doors destroyed by robbers. They did not put any effort into reviewing whatever footage of the gate looking for the trailer leaving. They would not let me look at the footage and they actively ignored my calls and would not return my calls. I only give them one star because no stars is not an option. I half way suspect that the theft was an inside job because of their evasiveness. read more

The current Leasing Agent is not customer service oriented, doesn't seem to care for the renters, makes up her own rules; is just not that pleasant to deal with; becomes argumentative. I had an verbal altercation with her, and she began gas-lighting, went passive aggressive. Basically saying she could do whatever she wanted to do. The last incident, happened quite recently, a tenant who had a yard/landscape business in a smaller storage unit, (next to mine) stored a flammable liquid (containing both oil & gasoline). I began smacking something heavy in my storage unit three days ago. Then the next day, returned and happened to find the porous linguist running along the floor. Luckily, on that side everything is stationed up off the floor! I immediately called, and the Assistant Mgr on-duty that day drove the cart down to my Unit, took photos, and wearing vinyl gloves, gently placed two (2) bright orange rags over the spill. She asked if I'd noticed any damage. I said only a standing mirror. It had the lubricant on its under-edge which by the next day had actually gotten the viscous lubricant inside of the mirror. And, it had a long drip running down the mirror-side surface. What I didn't appreciate was the fact the very next day, when the Leasing Mgr returned the following morning, (this would be Day 2), we had a combative phone conversation (I would have to say that's the only way to describe it). Mid-way through our phone call, she suddenly & matter-of-factly says. "Well, we'll probably end up moving you." I replied: "Remove me?" "Why me?" I didn't cause the spill. The other tenant did. I'd moved in on Feb 28, 2023. The other tenant just moved in last week. I have a large storage unit!! The other tenant has a small one. Moreover, I've worked hard and put in long hours to organize my storage unit, I'm in my late 60's, have Arthritis, etc. And this man, is much younger. Lastly, when the Leasing Mgr mentioned We'll have to move you to another unit. I couldn't believe what she'd just said! "We?" Obviously that would be me!" By now, she!s spoken to the other renter, about what, "is none of my business." Okay, I understand Renters have little rights, yet we pay between $100-$300/mo. I encourage everyone to carefully read/review your lease agreements. Don't always believe or go by what a leasing Mgr tells you (no matter their tenure is). If there is a high turnover rate, conflict between you and any Leasing Mgr, be sure to contact their Corporate Office. If a Leasing Mgr says: "I have my GM's Full Support!" What that should tell you right there is... "The Customers do not come first, the customer is never right, and if you don't like something, or not happy at the Leasing Agent's Facility, then leave/find some place else!" As far as this particular Leasing agent is concerned (her big ego lurking for trouble around every bend), she should be able to park anywhere she seems fit; whether that's blocking half a row of units at the very end as one nears the exit gate. Her answer... They can move their vehicles back all the way down/ go up another way to get out. This is my place, and I can park ny pickup anywhere I want to! I have my GN's approval on that! I was wondering where this person''s reasoning lived. First, her property? Second, I'm above the law. I'll park wherever I want to; for a day and a half. I understand how her guest shouldn't have to park off the gated property. But, she didn't comprehend that I heavy she could've thought ahead a bit. Her Asst Mgr. Would be in the next morning. There was a second car parked where she usually parks her pickup truck. She then parks her pickup truck at the end the middle aisle; and no one can exit! The last comments from the leasing Mgr. (Showed her True Colors). Beginning Immediately, the Bathroom will no longer be open 24/7. I'm locking it up as of now!" read more

Located on Sonoma blvd. their office staff is very friendly and knowledgeable to your needs and provides storage savings Including senior discounts too. I like their security with their camera and motion detectors. No worries. Since Insurance is also available for your personal items too. I'm very impressed with the management too They really take the time in listening to your needs and then providing many options.. Very clean facility inside and outside. I have had a unit at this facility for about a year now but today I had a very uncomfortable uncounted with an employee named Jess. I was parked in front of my unit still seated in the car finishing a conversation with my son's girlfriend. I noticed a truck coming toward me I assumed it was just another patron. A lady got out of the truck and open two doors that led to the inside storage units. I continue sitting in my car she didn't notice, but I didn't notice her looking around. She finally realized that I was still sitting in my car and motion for me to open my window, which I did, and she made the remark that my windows were very dark. I agreed with her I have 5% tint all the way around my car. At this time she made the statement that the reason people get their tent that dark you wouldn't be able to see in there if you were doing a drive-by and then which time she said, is that why you have it implying that I was going to be involved in a drive-by, somehow which offended me. Then in a nice way. I told her I was a patron of this establishment and she still went on to tell me that there was no loitering on the premises but not one time. Did she ask me? Did I need help or anything she automatically assumed I was there for a purpose Beside putting something in my storage unit that I pay for she did not offer me an apology. I showed her the key to my unit and reminded her that this is a locked and gated facility which you need a pass code or use the app to open the gate, so how did she think I entered the facility, without using one of these ways to get in. at the end of the day I feel like she was not very nice. She belittled me. I felt singled out because it was other people utilizing the facility also but I felt singled out because I am an African-American she did not apologize or anything for the way? She approached me and handled the situation which I felt was very unprofessional. But the experience overall was very unsatisfactory and I think she needs to be coached on her approach to people and situations. This is very much a coachable moment. read more

I finally porcessed the paper work to take them to small claims and look whos calling. When first speaking with the claims departments manager she didnt care if i had proof and said we dont know were the water is coming from from the photos you sent and was told rudely they were not going to cover my loss due to the poor Structure and Maintenance of that facility. Two weeks after my review post i received a call from the front office on site offering me only my last month rent back i thought really after all the lies you told the claims i said it was only rodent damage and not mentioned the water i happly said no like what a joke . Then filled a small claim Almost three weeks later claim center calls me and offers me a deal. If you have had a issue with this site dont give up as a customer your entitled to the safety of your things you should not be at a loss giving them business. read more

But now after moving all my stuff toEXTRA SPACE STORAGE things have changed for me so much these people are so polite and courteous to me and the rest of my family I just wish I would of moved sooner. Needed a storage space so decided to try Extra Space Storage on Sonoma Blvd in Vallejo California. Great decision on my part mainly due to Assistant Manager Jhun. What a great guy and gives the best customer service! He walked me through the rental process, answered all my question, and was an absolute delight to work with. Just when you feel good customer no longer exist, Jhun has completely renewed my faith. My thanks also to the young lady (didn't get her name) working the desk on Saturday September 18th 2021, she assisted me with an issue and I was quite satisfied...big thanks to her as well. This is legally sanctioned extortion and I now have less money for other things in my life. This place has a horrible manager working there. She does not know how to speak to people. She speaks like a 5th grader can not hold a professional conversation. They should really work on her professional skills. My storage unit got broken into i have the insurance through them and there third party insurer does not hold up there end of it. And extra space storage says there's nothing they can. So don't spend your money here if your storage u it is broken into your sol. They don't care that there third party does not reach out to there customers. Feels like fraud I'm paying for insurance but you don't get what your paying for! As far as storage places go this is the best I've seen. Very secure, lots of cameras and all the usual things. There are a few things that make this place really stand out in addition to the security. You can reserve a space 7 days a week which is a big plus. You can also pay any time at their machine outside. They also call you when you forget to pay. They are very professional in general and that is the other big thing about this place. They are very nice and really go out of their way to be helpful. Storage is usually a little on the sketchy side but this place is really very well maintained and the staff are super nice. If you have to store your stuff in Vallejo this is the place to go. read more

Since I have some really nice stuff that I need stored for a few months. I found these guys on line and did a reservation on line. In less than 10 minutes a really professional sounding manger called to confirm and to make sure that I didn't have any other questions. Au couple later I visited the facility and was greeted by Rochelle. I gave her my name, she replied I have everything ready for you. I presented my I.D. , signed the documents, took a ride to the storage space and was done in 20 minutes , that's how business sold be conducted! Five Stars to this business and its team of employees. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION!!! In addition to the fact they have raised the rent here every six months another $20, there is no privacy!!! I pay the storage for my mother. She has been sick and not accessing the storage. I stopped in to check on it and our $20 lock was cut off!!! When we opened the unit it was sitting on the inside next to a dead mouse.... There was absolutely no reason to cut my lock. I've NEVER been late and have NEVER been contacted! When I asked why this was done the staff reviewed my file, confirmed I've never been late and noted a "employee" note in my file stating that "if the customer intends to stay at this location they must put a lock on the unit". A $20 lock that they cut at their free will!!! So far I've tried to contact management about the situation since October 4, 2010; to date I've YET to receive a call of any sort! Their customer service department receives a call from me every couple of weeks and just keeps noting my call and complaint in my file.... NO MANAGEMENT RESPONSE. I could understand that people are human and they make mistakes. Maybe my lock was cut by accident?? If that was the case, why not replace my lock for free, contact me and let me know that the lock I bought was accidentally cut and they are replacing it at no cost. NOT to mention, if you stop by when an attendant is not on site you will not be able to access your unit because they've removed the lock and put their lock in its place. No phone call, no new lock, nothing! Our unit sat for FOUR months with their lock on it before we stopped in and noticed... Who knows what they went through! By them cutting my lock they have violated my contract and refused to deal with me. You have no privacy and who knows who will go through your stuff at their free will!!! Once they cut the lock off they put one of their on and FORCE YOU to buy another because you can't leave the site without putting a new lock on. "It's company policy"! So let me get this straight; it's company policy to cut peoples locks off that are current on their rent and force them to replace it??? Sounds like embezzling money from your customers if you ask me! read more

I kept my stuff here for 6 months. I was pleased with the cleanliness and security of the facility. The staff were absolutely excellent-- professional, kind, helpful. Their communication is very good, and Rochelle went out of her way to close my account when I moved out. The rates seem to be good for the area. The only reason I do not give 5 stars is because my rent did go up after a few months. I figured this would happen (I read the other reviews), and I received warning from Extra Space in my email, so I'm not mad about it. I came here on a rush due to attempted thefts where I was living, having to move my items out of the garage at the house. Everyone was very helpful, and helped me get set up on sudden notice. I was able to locate a house quicker than expected, and the team at Extra Space has continued to be very easy to work with. Very secure, manager lives on site, clean and nice facilities. It all started out just fine. I only need a small space and they offer a 3x4 - perfect. The rates,not too bad and in 18 months only 1 increase. However in the last 4 months my unit has been broken into 4 times, 3 of those in the last few weeks. I've been told there will be a security guard on duty and metal doors installed - we'll see. I don't really want to move to another facility where I have to take a larger, more expensive unit but having to run down, inspect and repack my unit every week is getting old, fast! read more

Do not, repeat DO NOT, patronize this business. We rented a full unit here for three years. Three different owners, a fire, and now we learn, a history of multiple break-ins, mass break-ins, and useless security. We went to remove things from our unit, found a foreign lock on it, had them help us remove it, rolled up the metal door, and found the unit completely empty. Everything but a mattress and a box STOLEN. Wiped out. Furniture, family treasures, household goods--all gone. The company is giving us the run around, refusing to take any accountability for failed security, not even offering us the rent back. We have filed a police report, will investigare further and report back. It is heartbreaking and they are heartless. They are tolerating thievary. The area is not safe and based on early reports, robberies are commonplace--may even be inside jobs. read more

Sooo I finally moved to another storage. In case it wasn't clear, I have never been more disappointed with any company in my life. I spoke to several people at the company and they all were totally disrespectful and not helpful at all. Rochelle and Carlann (I referred to her as Christy in my last update) were the worst people I've ever dealt with...they use Rochelle to do the dirty work and she gladly accept. Carlann gets involved to lie and mislead the customer to think she's helping when she isn't. And for whoever responded and said something about a misunderstanding....more insulting.
