***MUST READ: FALSE ACCUSATIONS OF VANDALISM The store manager, Harrison Porter, called me on 4/23/22 & left the most disrespectful voicemail accusing me of vandalizing an elevator. The message stated that I was captured on CCTV camera vandalizing an elevator on the premises & that he intended to contact law enforcement to report me. For the record, I have had NO PRIOR COMMUNICATIONSof any kind with Harrison Porter consequently his voicemail was disturbing. He stated that although I successfully moved out on-time that he would unlawfully NOT close my account with the intention of causing me to accrue charges thereby creating a balance and that he would subsequently send that balance to collections. Mr. Porter's behavior is inappropriate and displays a lack of integrity. When my fiancé called Extra Space Storage to inquire about the accusations (since he was present when I moved out), Mr. Porter falsely accused my fiancé of vandalism as well and abruptly ended the conversation by hanging up on him. I proceeded to call Extra Space Storage Corporate Office a total of SEVEN (7) times in five days. I was deceitfully & repeatedly told that my call would be returned within 24 hours. Each day no one called me back leaving me frantic. Additionally, I emailed Extra Space Storage at 'info@extraspace.com' attaching the voicemail that Mr. Porter left accusing me of vandalism. To this day, no one ever responded to my email. After a week of no response, I received a call from the District Manager stating what I already knew; she reviewed the cameras & determined via video confirmation that I nor my fiancé committed any acts of vandalism of any kind. The District Manager offered no apology. Harrison Porter was negligent for failing to gather the correct information regarding this matter prior to contacting me with threats of police involvement. Mr. Porter's behavior displays a lack of integrity and poor employee conduct. I sent a letter via FedEx to the corporate office in Utah. I will update the review based on their response. read more

Rate increases every 6 months - even during COVID when everyone is struggling. I've had 2 units at this location for less than 1 1/2 years. Listen to what people are saying...once you have a unit, they start gouging you for more rent!!! Renter beware!!! They do NOT value their existing business. I'm paying $155 for a 10x15 on the 2nd floor, and they're currently renting them for $113 (which is what they started me at). For a 12x24 on the first floor, they're charging me $255 and they're currently renting those for $174 (which is also what they started my rent at). I've even called the corporate office. They denied to adjust the rent on the ground level and gave a $10 discount on the other. Wow! I'm still paying $113 over market rent! The corporate contact recommended I just rent and move to a new unit at the cheaper price. What a gem. If don't want to be jacked for more money every few months...plan to constantly move units to keep from being gouged. Apparently "rented" units are worth more money than "empty" ones. read more

The rental process was easy breezy! Harrison was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He explained the process and got me set up quickly. However, I recently went into my unit and found a small leak. To my surprise management was aware of the leak, but had no clear answers about when the repair would occur. Upon close inspection, I could see that the area where there was a small leak was discolored, which means the leak had occurred before and management was aware of this before I rented the unit. Given, that I don't know about water damage, I didn't notice the spot when I rented the unit. Afrer seeing the small leak, I also noticed water stains in the hallway. I was told that this is why customers are encouraged to purchase insurance. In my opinion, units that are below areas where there is a roof leak should not be rented until AFTER the roof is repaired or customers should be made aware of the issue so i formed choices can be made. In addition, .The owner should repair the roof before there are actual leaks because black mold could begin to grow inside of the storage facility. Obviously, there is greater emphasis on making money than providing a facility where customers don't have to worry about their belongings. Now, I must move all of my belongings to another storage facility if they don't have units open and hope my unit does not flood since there will be rain over the next 3 days. Word to the wise, ask about the last time the ENTIRE roof was replaced before renting a unit. Also, carefully inspect the floors in the unit if you see circular darker grey spaces, or what appears to be dried up liquid in the hallway, don't rent from the facility. Yes, you have insurance, but you are likely storing your belongings because you want to keep them. read more

I'm so upset right now because one of my close friends lost her husband. He had a storage at this facility and she drove all the way from Charlotte to get his things. She called before she came to see what all she needed to bring so that the property would be released to her. They said bring marriage license and death certificate. She brought both of them and they still would not release his property. They have never missed her payments and now her husbands belongings will be auctioned off. They would not give her any explanation to why they lied to her. I'm calling corporate! Having to see my friend break down after everything she has been through has me livid! read more

Please be aware that your rate will increase within your 3-6 months tenancy and will increase AGAIN 9 months after that. My account received its second price increase on the 14th month. As told to me by the Manager, they do not offer rate reductions or promotions for existing tenants. He also gave a spill about how less of an amount I'm paying compared to their standard rate. He said I can move my items off the property, sign up again, and move my items back onto the property for the web promotion which is $70 less than the quoted standard price of my existing unit size. That doesn't make any sense...the only change on their end is paperwork. I should not have to go through such extreme steps for a discount. read more

When I first visited this storage I had a great experience with the manager, Harrison Porter, as I'm sure almost everyone would say. He went above and beyond as stated, no lies told. He did however seem to be a but aggressive constantly requesting me to leave a review via text or when I came in person. I have been renting a unit there for 4 months now and have had a rent increase that I was not notified about. I've checked both mailboxes and have not received anything stating my rent would increase. When I called the store about it, I was insulted by Harrison about how I neglected to read the contract, which he states clearly informs you of a rate increase. I have read this contract over and over again and nowhere does it state this. He was very rude and seemed to try and belittle my intelligence hinting that I didn't read my contract versus just giving well informed reasons as to why rent increases happen with this company. His lack of knowledge on the actual subject led to him being unprofessional when responding to my questions. I did speak to someone higher who informed me better of the situation and how things work so that I could make a better econominal decision than when I spoke with Harrison. He comes off very rude and ignorant. I am not one to leave reviews but this left a bitter taste that makes me not want to do business with this company. I should be able to ask whatever questions regarding my property and money and I felt like there was no care. Now I see why he harrasses people for a review so it can seem like the best place to rent. It's not bad they just either need to train him better or find a new front face. Absolute bait and switch! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! I've had two storage units with other companies in the past and never had a rate increase within less than 6 months!!! Ridiculous! Public Storage locks in their rate for a year.....what's wrong with this company?! They basically told me they can raise the rate at any time as long as they give me 30 days notice.....I don't think so! I will be moving. Read the fine print. read more
