Public Storage sent me an automatic renewal with a 30% price increase!! Please watch your bills and any emails or letters you receive from this company. This notice they sent me purposely does not show my old rate it only had the new rate so I could not compare or calculate the increase in my monthly rental. I can handle 5-10% price increase each year but a 30% increase is a bit much. read more

What really makes this PS location standout from other storage facilities is its manager - Charissa Smith. She has helped me solve problems and optimize my storage space on multiple occasions. She is extremely knowledgeable about Public Storage's systems / policies / etc. and approaches problems and challenges with the intent to solve them. There has never been an issue she hasn't been able to help me resolve to my complete satisfaction, and she often proactively offers suggestions that improve my experience with Public Storage. They increased the price by ~50% without notice (90 to 140). Decided to move out. The manager was not at the office at 3:45 PM, despite hours being until 5 PM. The bathrooms and water fountain were both out of order. There was glass everywhere in the parking area in front of the door. One of the elevators did not work. The other elevator did not work right away, leading us to believe it was out of order. There was no staircase outside of the one that triggers the fire alarm. The facility was filthy -- trash and even feces (a small dogs?) was on the floor. We saw roaches. read more

The worst. They get 0 stars from me. I moved into my storage unit in May 2018 and they increased my monthly rate 2 time from May 2018 to Aug 2019. I was paying $349 a month for a 10x20 unit. They should be ashamed. I went to 4 of their competitors and they all quoted me a price that was half of what I was paying, smh. They also said it sounded like someone at the top was pocketing my money. Crazy thing is that my gut said the same thing and 4 other people confirmed it without me saying anything. Don't spend your hard earned money supporting this company, especially this location. How they conduct business is a reflection of leadership - unethical scammers. There's no way they should charge $349/mth for any space... it's absolutely ridiculous. These folks are ripping people off big time. STAY AWAY! read more

I had an AMAZING experience at this location. My rep was Tear and omg she was awesome. For one when I arrived she was on break. Although I didn't mind waiting, she cut it short just so I didn't have to wait. She then gave me a thorough tour of the location. I wanted to go to another location that was closer to my home but glad I didn't. She even told me about a must try restaurant when I go to Texas. Public Storage did good with this hire. I was only at this location for boxes. Dorothy was very helpful in deciding between whether to get the prepackaged or the individual boxes. Also I had underestimated how many boxes I would need but based on my description she was able to guide me in the right direction and saved me from having to make multiple trips. read more

Great customer service from manager, Dorothy. She was thorough in explaining everything and very friendly.

Not the best choice in the area, but easy access to unit. Had an appointment and representative never showed up. Called to reschedule and there was not explanation or apology. Raised the monthly payment, 2 months in, without notice then charged Late Fee. How can one be late on an amount they did not know about? Other storage places and companies are more up front. The facility itself is fine - clean and in good shape. Dorothy was very helpful. The issue I have is with the fact that they will charge you for a full month of rent if you are not out of the complex by the end of the second day of the month. My move was delayed because of a financing issue - I was supposed to move at the end of April but was not able to close until the end of the day on May 2 and then move on the 3rd. When I called to ask if I could pay a prorated amount the answer was no from Dorothy - it is company policy was her response. I asked to speak with her supervisor - George Vasquez, the district manager. I called his number and did not receive a call back. I had to call Dorothy again and she told me he would be at the facility that Saturday. I called when he was there and tried to reason with him. I was going to be out of the unit approximately 6 hours after they opened on May 3rd and he could then rent the unit to someone else for the rest of the month. George, unfortunately, was a robot and unwilling to compromise. As a result I had to pay $199 to use the unit for 2 1/2 days. I will never use their company again. Just make sure you can be out by the 2nd if you are in a similar situation and using their facility. read more

As far as a room to store stuff in, they are expensive. Units are much more expensive that competitors. Usually, when you're paying more, you also expect more in terms of service. I didn't even have that expectation. I just wanted to store my stuff, pay the (high) monthly cost, and then close my unit out when finished. The less interaction with the employees, the better. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. Very, very poor customer service, even considering my low expectations. Customers are made very aware that any employee forced to interact with a customer is wasting the employee's time. If a customer is unhappy, it isn't their problem - which they will happily tell you. They did not return calls to me until after I stopped doing business with them, and then it was to attempt to bill me un-owed money. If you choose/are forced to do business at this location, get everything in writing from them. Get a receipt for all transactions, and make sure that they give you a final, non-monetary receipt showing you have closed your account. read more

Beware - if your storage unit requires repair, they don't offer this basic "service". The hasp on my unit was broken on the day I moved in. I reported it immediately. One month later I followed up because they had not taken an action to repair. They claim to put in service tickets. Two weeks later (so now it has been more than 6 weeks total) I continue to follow up by leaving voice mails. The on-site manager and the district manager both refuse to respond to phone calls and won't schedule the repair. Last year my previous smaller unit was broken into (there were many broken into in one night). The front door is always hanging wide open. Security is clearly lacking and they won't conduct repairs. It is shameful. read more

My experience with Public Storage was great. I am from Michigan and my daughter attends school in Atlanta, I had plans to rent a unit at another local storage facility, but was turned away because it was close to closing time. I googled storage facilities and the closest was on Cumberland Blvd. I had a little trouble finding the location but the young lady who worked their was helpful. I asked the lady on the line if I got there close to closing time would I still be helped, she said Of Course, we won't leave until you are taken care of. When I finally arrived Dorothy the DM was very helpful and even though I am a returning customer in Michigan, she made me feel as though I was renting for the first time. I have had multiple storage spaces at this location. To date I have had a large 10 x 20 space for 4 years this month. The property is very nice; nice building, clean and a sense of security. The management has been exceptional up to Jan 2017 when I received a call that 30 units had their locks cut off and broken into; mine being one of them. 3,000 miles away, I asked questions. I was told that nothing was pulled out of my space, everything looked like it was untouched. Almost 3,000 miles from my storage space, I was told to come in, put a new lock on the door, and see what the status of my unit was. I asked for a photo to be taken and sent to me multiple times. I was given the run around about the photo over and over again. Four months later the District Manager has not even given me a courtesy RETURN PHONE CALL. I have been told by the property management that they can't give me any information, that I have to call the police for a report. The officer in Smyrna has not returned my call after multiple calls. A friend went by my space, took pictures and put a new lock on the door. My unit was broken into, and things stolen. The manager told my friend that she was the one who moved some things around and pushed things back into my space. So, the truth is they lied to me over the phone. I still do not know who broke in and if the person has been arrested and prosecuted. AND YES, THEY GO UP ON THE RENT ABOUT EVERY 6 MONTHS. read more
