I have been with Cubesmart since my mother passedaway in 2019. I had to hurry and move her belongings into a unit when she died. Since then, we have had several major expenses come up which has resulted in us having to pay late. They charge a huge late fee (around $50) which we have paid. My complaint is the insanely high late fees and their lack of willingness to even consider waiving a single fee. They've made roughly $3000 in late fees off of my hardships. Even worse, without warning, I will receive a bill periodically with a new increase. Last month, my bill was $344 and I logged in today to pay and it is now $399. I don't know how a company can not only increase rates without any notice but they have no compassion for anyone who is struggling. Their late fee is 20% of the bills total which is way above industry standard. Lastly, when I moved into the unit, I was told there was a 10 day late fee grace period. This is not true as my bill is due on the 3rd and the fee was already assessed on the unit today (11th) They make up rules as they go, add new charges when they see fit, and lack compassion regarding their clients hardships causing them to continue a viscious cycle of late payments since they can never catch up with all of the fees and increases. ​ read more

They get you with a low rate and free first months rent, but then increase every year. No one works in the office. Tried calling several time during business hours and no answer. Showed up to clear out my unit, no staff on site (during normal business hours). Called regional CubeSmart and they even said someone should be onsite but they could not get ahold of anyone. I have been utilizing cube smart as my storage facility since 7/12/23. From that day forward there have been constant issues. Firstly when I went in to sign my paperwork on a time crunch in between work, and I made the young lady aware that I had my own lock and she told me that I would need to return the green lock that was on the unit (not even mentioning to return the other lock that is usually sold or added to the unit cost). I told her that I wasn't moving into the unit until 7/28/23 and she never mentioned that I would be charged if I didn't return the lock within 48hrs although I literally told her when I planned to move in. Two days later I get a voicemail from the same lady saying I was being charged a late fee for not returning the green lock. I hadn't even accessed the unit yet because I wasn't moving for another 2 weeks, Not to mention I brought my lock with me the day I signed my papers so why wouldn't she say "ma'am you should put the lock on the unit now so you wont be charged because you only have 48hrs from TODAY!". The second issue occurred the week of my move when I found a puddle of water in my unit on the Monday 7/24. I called the manager and made them aware of the puddle and took pictures and put in a work request to have it fixed and prior to me moving in on that Friday 7/28. The day of move in my door code wouldn't work, there was a sign on the door that the lady would be back at a specific time (we waited an hour and she never came back/30mins past time). I call corporate again to see if I can get another code. They provided a emergency door code that I had to use for 2 months because it was never fixed (I addressed this issue with the same young lady btw face to face when I came to check if the water issue was addressed, midweek). The third issue occurred 11/19 when I needed to access my unit to get some work items. Well, that didn't happen because there was a red lock on my unit enabling me from accessing it as if my account wasn't paid to date (they had just retrieved their payment on 11/12). I called corporate again explaining the issue. The woman was very understanding and stated that there was nothing mentioning the purpose of the lock on my unit so it must've been a mistake. I specifically asked to speak to the regional manager to resolve the matter. I was told that regional managers are required to call within 48hrs which would have been 11/21 and here it is 12/27, I never received a call from ANYONE within that time frame! I had to go purchase more work items the next day, when I should have been able to access my own. I called the store 4x on 11/20 and got no answer or returned call until that evening. I was also told "sorry for the late call we were doing auctions all day". Well that brought me lots of comfort. I was called by the store manager again (still no upper management) on 11/27 letting me know that the regional manager applied a $42 discount on my rent that I was notified a week earlier (via mail) was going up $42. So he basically discounted me the difference of what I was already paying every single month ON TIME! Must I mention the list of other issues that I've experienced such the door being stuck open for anyone to access the facility, the disgusting bathroom, two dolly's for a 100+ unit facility (so imagine multiple people moving in on the same day), the elevator light the was broken (dark for two months), completely full humidity bags I keep and have to change monthly in my unit due to moisture (probably also due to the thermostat being kept on the highest temp listed in contract 80° in blazing summer temps and at the lowest in winter months). This has been by far the worse storage renting experience I have ever had and I don't plan on staying! I really hope they find some resolutions for the facility and customers like me who've had to suffer through these inconveniences and poor customer service. I never really thought about reviewing storage unit places, because let's be real here, you kind of know what you're getting when you find yourself in the need for off-site storage. I think an experience would have to be either really good or really bad to warrant some rage-reviewing, but in the case of my recent experience with this particular CubeSmart, good service deserves to be recognized and acknowledged. I originally went with this CubeSmart because it was the ideal combination of having the size availability I needed, at a competitive rate, and its location was ideally equidistant from my old house to my new one. It's a short drive off of the S Atlanta Rd exit off of I-285 and I felt that they were close enough to everything while being just far enough away from a lot of the shadier storage unit joints that are often mentioned in the AJC for undesirable news. If there were any drawbacks to this place, it's that the parking lot is small. On a weekend day where people are more apt to be coming and going, it can get kind of crowded, and their on-site carts won't always be available for use. But the facility itself, is pretty satisfactory standard; climate-controlled, clean and well-lit hallways, and it feels secure in the sense that there's only one public entrance/exit, so that any nefarious individuals won't have it easy if they wanted to steal. However, what warrants a glowing review of this CubeSmart is unmistakably, the service. The guys that run this place really make me as a customer feel like they actually care about my business. From little things like always saying hello whenever I stopped by, to some above and beyond service, like sending reminder emails and phone calls about any on-site issues, maintenance and potential building closures. But what really pushes them to five-star status is how they handled a situation of mine involving a little bit of property damage. Long story short, there was some infrastructure damage that resulted in some of my furniture getting a little dirtied up. Sure, it sounds trite, but I didn't rent a unit for my stuff to get dirtied up by anyone other than myself, so I held them accountable for the cleaning of my personal effects. ADVICE: Don't take their insurance. Or at least, read it unlike me, before signing for it. It will cover standard stuff like fires, earthquakes or other natural disasters. It will also cover stuff like The Purge, social riots and looting, or if Guile from Street Fighter materialized and decided to throw Sonic Booms at your specific unit (see photo). But it WILL NOT cover stuff like infrastructure damage or insect/animal pests. So, the insurance I had been paying for didn't actually cover the soiling of my furniture. I had been so certain that insurance would actually insure my claim that I had already gotten my stuff professionally cleaned, expecting compensation. Much to my dismay, I was informed that that would not be the case. Upon following up with the CubeSmart guys locally, I explained my frustration with the situation, and asked if there was absolutely no other solution. And despite the fact that it was not at all their responsibility, they made some calls and managed to issue a check to me for the cost of the cleaning. And this was after I had closed out my locker and been a month past being an existing customer with them. That kind of service and resolution deserves to be acknowledged and praised, and it's for no other reason than the outstanding customer service at this CubeSmart that I recommend them above all others, and why I'd gladly come back here if I ever need some external storage again. read more

This place is simply AWFUL! Carts are never available, and staff is rarely ever in the office. After dozens of wasted trips, I called the regional manager. She seemed genuinely concerned, but two weeks later - nothing has changed. I have been to the facility THREE times this week during business hours (twice today!) and walked the entire property top to bottom, end to end. No carts, no staff. I'm on the second floor, miles from the elevator - so I really need a cart to move my things. I wish I could rate this facility 6 stars. I rented the unit through an unrelated online site. I arrived first thing on the day of my rental and the manager quickly looked up my reservation, printed out the contract while running through the high points, and had me sign. All in under 15 minutes. When I returned with my first load for storage, the manager met me in the lobby and said he'd already unlocked the unit, opened the door, and it was ready for me. I've experienced very few instances of similar, high-quality customer service and highly recommend this facility. read more

Considering that I've had a storage unit here since 2007, I'm sure it's safe to say that this place is pretty solid! I love that the storage units are indoors where it's climate controlled and not everyone can just walk in. The doors are locked unless you have a security code (which I have forgotten on occasion... quite stupid of me). That makes me feel like my things are a bit better stored. The service is probably as good as you can expect from a storage unit. They are friendly, but I've not seen them go above and beyond either. What I don't like is that they tend to raise their rates every now and then. So, over the years your monthly rate just keeps creeping up (reminds me a bit of what apartment complexes do). Eventually, I ended up closing my storage unit, but then opened up a new one, which was bigger... and for much less! Yay for good deals! Overall, I would recommend this place. read more

I've only just moved in, but so far the experience has been really great. The facility is clean, the prices are fair and the staff is top notch. Even the other customers that I've chatted with while moving in have been really nice and have been satisfied with the place. There isn't a ton of space to load/unload out front, but over the last 10 days that hasn't been an issue. The only problem I've had is with one jerk of a customer that monopolized the carts - but that was after hours and not the facility's fault... in general there are plenty to use. read more

I could not have imagined a better experience. Kent Jones (at Cube Smart in Vinings) was super helpful and reasonable and made my rental calm and easy. And this was amidst a very quick and hectic move! I had reserved sight unseen and was pleasantly surprised at how clean and fresh and well-maintained the facility is. It is brightly lit and feels safe to use. I have enjoyed spending a couple hours here and there at the unit going through old books and papers to clean out. It's like a little escape, where I can tinker uninterupted. This might sound silly, but I feel like my stuff (including some sentimental pieces from my grandparents) is happy living here! read more

I gave this facility 5 stars because of the cleanliness inside and out, but primarily the manager. The first day I moved into the facility I lost my access code and could not get into the facility. We had two hours to unload my truck before closing when I realized the key for lock was left in my car 12 miles away. By the time I picked up my key and made it back to the facility, we had a little over an hour left to move in...I contacted Cube Smart's customer service line and told them I was unable to gain access because I could not locate my access code and didn't have much time to move my items into the unit. They contacted the facility manager who was more than happy to obtain my access code and come to the area where my movers and I were unloading. He assisted us with a smooth move, by allowing us access pass closing time. If this wasn't enough, I dropped and locked my truck key in the unit while moving boxes, and couldn't get back in once I realized it. Needless to say the manager Kent, came back out and gave me access to the unit again. This manager is more than your typical Clark Kent, in my book he's Superman! read more

This is a great place to store. So much better than Public Storage. The manager Kent was so helpful. I arrived 5 minutes after closing and he was still there and patiently helped me through my paperwork and securing my space. If he would have left it would have been a disaster but since I called for directions several times he waited for me. When I came back with my load he asked if I needed anything and really meant it.
